I think it’s better if they made aura reading universal. For example if Claudette is running Empathy not only can see she the aura of injured teammates, but now every other survivor can too. Aura reading already kinda works like this in SWF. You can just call out any location to your teammates.
-
I have one for Bubba from the original TCM.
- Sloppy Butcher (he is literally a sloppy butcher)
- Knock Out (for his iconic first kill)
- Play With Your Food (his cannibalism + callback to the dining room scene)
- Monstrous Shrine (his butcher room is literally his “shrine” + he kills people by putting them on hooks)
And one for Doctor
- Hex: Plaything (he experiments and toys around with his victims)
- Mindbreaker (the survivors minds are breaking from the insanity)
- Surge (electricity and its very similar to how his power works)
- Surveillance (he’s shown to be constantly watching his victims and everything they do)
-
Huntress or Nurse 100%. I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t see them in the movie.
-
As much as I hate the bots sometimes I think the devs should focus on improving other things. I’m not sure how to work with AI, but i’m willing to bet it probably takes a lot of time and effort to improve them. Id rather they pour that into improving map generation, adjusting perks, etc.
-
What was most problematic about it was the synergy with medkits and it being too easy replace. Medkits arent a problem anymore to justify the removal of self healing. Bring back self heal (at a reduced percentage) and put a cooldown or make it token based.
-
Keep You Together
When you’re in a pinch, you use what you have to make do.
Your healing speed is increased by 8% for every negative status effect that you or another survivor is inflicted with.
You start the trial with 3 tokens. While performing a healing action on yourself or another survivor press the ability button to place a Tourniquet. Survivors with Tourniquets do not lose healing progression from the Hemorrhage status effect and don’t leave blood trails. A Tourniquet is removed after a survivor has been fully healed.
Insomniac
Your nights of restlessness have prepared you for working under the weather.
While inflicted with the Exhaustion status effect gain a 12% increase to action speed and a 9% increase to vaulting speed. Increases to vaulting speed do not stack with other perks.
All Eyes on Me
Your fear of being watched puts your mind and body into overdrive.
If you are inflicted with the Exposed status effect or your aura is revealed to the killer, this perk activates. For the duration of the effect you:
- Have your aura revealed to all other survivors
- Gain a 3% haste effect
If the effect lasts for over 10 seconds you are inflicted with a 20 second duration Exhaustion. This perk can still activate while exhausted.
-
She is 100% weaker if you’re still playing her like her reworked version or as a Blight. She’s a hit-and-run killer, not a chase killer. You have to be smart with her teleports to spread condemn and pressure multiple survivors.
-
If it has any synergy with Pain Res then its going to be everywhere. If not I don’t see it replacing any of the common slowdown perks. Maybe deadlock, but most people aren’t running deadlock with pop and pain res so it should be manageable.
-
Try this with Mural Sketch or PLWYF and you go crazy fast during frenzy. I like running it with BFFs and NOED for a downright unfair endgame build.
-
good. never needed to be fixed.
-
I’m worried about this too but we don’t know for sure how things are going to play out in game. The buff to kicks and no more gen-tapping should offset any problems. We just have to wait and see for PTB.
-
I never played Alan Wake so I’m not sure how accurate of an adaptation it is but the perks are definitely something. The Boon is too limited it needs more auras and a bigger radius. Deadline is going to be a staple on Autodidact/Hyperfocus builds. Champion of Light might be broken we’ll have to see how it works.

Great, but we are still nerfing pig and legion then?
Legion doesn’t really benefit much from STBFL if you use frenzy correctly so its not going to effect him.
-
Cant wait to see how she plays now with the instant teleport and buffed tvs. Probably going to drop Dredge to play her.

Billy is great though I’m not sure how hard it’ll be to achieve overdrive. Currently overheat is a non factor with how hard it is to get so they might have changed the numbers
The base speed increase is crazy though meaning curving around loops will be much stronger now
Im just glad they changed his collision and removed overheat. It gonna make him so much less annoying to play.

You don't have to fix an additional 5%, you need to fix that 5% without letting go the gen to stop the passive regression of the gen.
Ohh that makes sense. I thought Peanits said that gen progress is paused but it’s gen regression.

What was the reason to provide even more Slowdown with buffing the Kicks from 2,5% to 5%?
Letting Survivors repair 2,5% of progress would have already been a fix to gentapping.
Right I don’t get that part. The 5% kick is a good thing but then having to repair it an additional 5 percent?? They basically buffed kicks to 10% slowdown.

Almost nobody facecamped anyway. So the work put into this system was pointless from the start. Thanks for the confirmation. :)
You must’ve gotten lucky then. Like 30% of my games had killers staring someone down at hook if someome did even the littlest thing to annoy them.
-
I hope BHVR isn’t planning on removing it. If people are having so little fun that they feel the need to DC every game then maybe they just shouldn’t be playing.
-
What gets people upset about FTP+Buckle Up is that it invalidates your chase. Not getting a hook after you outplayed the survivor in chase can feel like you’ve been cheated. I don’t mind this combo much but I understand why other people are complaining.
-
Huntress, Nemi, Pyramid Head, Trickster, even Twins can all do this 😭

@Xendritch said:
My guess is they might think it's a bit much with Rapid Brutality so it's gonna get hit from 8 stacks to 6 stacks. Alternatively they could keep it at 8 stacks and nerf the boost from 5% to 4% which would probably be overall worse so hopefully it's the first thing I mentioned. I'd be very sad if it was anything more dramatic than this.
RIP clown mains. They all run Rapid + STBFL
-
@GeneralV said:
And why, exactly, is STBFL getting a change?
This perk is extremely helpful for M1 killers. I don't see why it needs a nerf.
I assume it’s being changed to stop the anti-tunneling aspect. You can hit a survivor immediately off hook and suffer next to no distance lost even at 6 stacks. Hopefully they just reduce the stacks or make it so the person hook becomes the obsession, anything else would be unnecessary.
-
They jumped her 😭
-
Dwight, Nea, David, and Feng. They are easily the most iconic survivors.

The reason why they nerfed it is because it was an unhealthy perk.
Using it in combination with something like Devour with certain killers and add ons made it practically uncounterable, and was just miserable to go against. Only reason why it wasnt complained about in mass is because not many people used it.
Yeah that’s not really why it was nerfed. If that was the case we would’ve seen it nerfed back when OG Undying was meta. It’s not a coincidence that Thrill was ”reworked” the same patch boons were added. The idea was to increase the Cleaning/Blessing time to make Thrill a counter perk, and the noise notif was taken away as compensation. Obviously it didn’t work (the increased time was too minimal to justify a perk slot) but it was never reverted once boons fell out of the meta.

@ShowNoMercy said:
No, I don't play killer before you yell "KILLER MAIN COMPLAINING ABOUT A WEAK PERK". I'm tired to see my teammates going from pallet to pallet and when the match goes on there is no pallet left for us to use. They keep wasting it for absolutely nothing and it only kills us at the end and what for? This perk is extremely unhealthy. I hate to say it but I think this perk has got to go. Survivors need to learn the game and not just drop every pallet they see on their screen.
The fact that WoO is the most complained about perk rn shows the game is actually in a pretty balanced spot, at least when it comes to perks.
-
Clown is one of those killers who are fundamentally ‘weak’. No amount of tweaking to his bottles will fix his lack of map pressure and pre-drop counter play. His yellow bottles could be reworked a little but i’m not sure how.
-
Least favorites are easily Artist, Clown and Ghostface. Ranged killers like Huntress, Slinger, Nemesis and are the best to go against imo. Close 2nds are Nurse, Dredge, and Jumpscare Myers.

@glitchboi said:
With that in mind it makes me wonder if all maps could have their own gimmick similar to the Nostromo Wreckage with its various gimmicks. Nothing that benefits both sides but stuff that are for funsies.
I also heard that they are adding a new animal to yamaoka. Hopefully we get more map unique features with future maps as well.
-
When playing against Legion there is 3 things you never want to do.
- Don’t Heal!! Legion’s entire power is centered around how easy he can keep people injured. 9/10 times he will just injure you again after you heal. It’s a huge waste of time and gives Legion insane slowdown. You only want to be healing if you absolutely have to or if you can heal very quickly. Otherwise focus on repairing generators. Some beginner perks that might help you with this are We’ll Make It and Resilience.
- Never group up. Legion excels when survivors are together. He can easily chain hits, slow down the game with mass deep wounds, and potentially get a down with frenzy. Make sure to stay away from your teammates when you can and split up on generators, even if someone is running a perk like Prove Thyself. If you hear Legion coming run in the opposite direction of him and away from any survivors if possible. Perks like Bond, Empathy, or Kindred will help you know where to position yourself.
- Don’t mend immediately. This is a mistake that even players with many hours still make. It maybe scary to see the mending bar go down, but don’t be tempted to immediately get rid of it. Remember, the bar pauses if you are in chase and while you are mending. Dying from deep wound only happens if you purposefully let it. Mending right after you’ve been hit by frenzy can put you in a vulnerable position. Legions will often pretend to go away after a hit, only to come back immediately. There is also an addon that lets legion see the aura of survivors that are mending, letting him know your position. After you are hit, make sure to make distance from the killer. You should start mending when you no longer hear his terror radius. Mend near safe loops if you can.
-
This with Legion’s BFF addon would go crazy. Hopefully they bring Batteries into the shrine soon so I can run it.
-
This build is so cursed. Running Pop with Surge AND Pain Res??? You can’t really get that much value out of it if the generators are already regressing 😭
-
As much as I like Jeeper’s, I don’t think the series will ever get represented in dbd.
-
I always thought that Freddy could get something similar to this when you’re in the dream world.
-
@fussy said:
Killer gameplay somewhere in 2027: You are allowed to hit someone by respectfully asking permission and collecting signatures from all survivors, and then on the third moon of the Maya calendar with the blessing of Entity, you can do it. But be careful, if any of survivors are not in the mood, you can be hooked instead. Also remember about Anti-Frustration mechanic: if someone doesn't have fun, be sure you can cheer survivors up with some energy dance or couple of anecdotes.
We can talk about "making tunneling overall a less rewarding strategy" when there will be any other rewarding strategy.
Don’t put words in my mouth that aren’t there. This perk change will not kill not tunneling, that’s not the point. Tunneling is already an extremely powerful tool. You don’t need an extra 75% regression after already taking someone out at 4 gens.
-
@Dream_Whisper said:
I would instead make it work, to hooking one of 4 unique survivors, instead of hooking the same survivors 3 times. Give it a old barbecue and Chilli vibe, where if you hook a unique survivor, you can a token (or in this case, you used up a token)
If this is a strong nerf to tunneling, I would also slightly Buff the regression to 20-5%; but that's it. If you hook every Survivor at least once in the match, you can get nearly 100% gen regression value when switching target's; while not well rewarded in tunneling.
I’m confused is this not what it currently does?
-
Once had that evil 3 gen spawn on Eyrie of Crows. Safe to say the killer just stood there the whole game.

I've always thought that the biggest problem was the number of people who've pulled off killer win streaks, not the streaks themselves. If it was just a player or two then the 'oh yeah, they are the best player', but it is a feat that lots of players have pulled off. Compare that to the survivor streaks and you are looking at some of the absolute best survivors.
The second issue though is the killer's who've pulled it off with major handicaps.
Streaks in competitive events should be extremely rare. Magnus Carlsen streak of wins in chess as some say the best player in history is 42 with draws not ending the streak. Taking a quick look at major competitive sports the highest streaks are usually in the 20s, and that are for some sports with over a hundred years of play. If you are being matched against competition that is even relatively on your level, a winning streak in the hundreds should be impossible.
It is an inherent problem/inevitability with the game design. Each of us, hypothetically, could become as good as a top tier comp killer. To become equivalent to a comp tier survivor we'd have to get as good and then find three other people on the same level.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3613361#Comment_3613361
You know the same kinds of teams that otz plays with when he plays with hens and ayrun and they do these "hardcore survivor" challenges? And they go on big win streaks? That's not what the hardcore series was/is. They start fresh survivors, so they are at low MMR and they talk about how much harder the games get later on as MMR improves. Second the goal is not a win streak, but to get to Iri 1 before all of there available survivors die off, wins and losses are irrelevant.
They also failed the most recent attempt.
The reason why survivor team win streaks are harder to pull off is because they require 4 people to be playing to perfection at all times. Killers only have to rely on themselves.

Try playing Legion against a rush group and let me know how that goes. Smart survivors sprint in the opposite direction when they get a hit and essentially deny half of their power.
That doesn’t change the fact that he was significantly worse before. The “rework” was a straight up buff on all accounts.

youre quite literally stubbing your own toe playing the way survivors want aka not camping, tunneling, and letting them go. youre not "playing fair" youre playing in their favor
they could also just want to play for fun. there is nothing engaging about sitting at the hook half the game.

Quality of life changes are things we are always looking at, for example the FOV slider that's going to be implemented shortly and the Survivor HUD that's currently in the game.
The lobby changes will take some time (I don't have a timescale), as things are likely to be reworked. Showing perks loadouts though is not fully part of that, and not decided if that will come into the game for various reasons - lobby dodging would likely increase, you see 3 other survivors with Distortion = Dodge, someone running No Mither = Dodge, someone running a solo survivor build = dodge, as some examples. Things are not cut and dried so before we make changes such as that it has to be considered very carefully both the positives and negatives, and depending which one outweighs the other.
Rather than lobby perks being shown, there's been some great ideas that I've seen recently where you see more in game itself, so for example the aura of a Survivor downed with Plot Twist having a different colour, I think that's something that's far more valuable in game.
If lobby-dodging dodging is seen as an issue, then can we get a feature that punishes players who do it excessively? It would allow for this feature to exist and be a great improvement for lobby times, especially for new players who get dodged frequently anyways.
-
I suggest you use instead Distortion or Ultimate Weapon to ignore distortion. You get consistent info at all times.

@woundcowboy said:
“Rework” is code for major nerfs. Best case scenario is they make a .02 % change to power/addons. Meanwhile survivors are given basekit BT and will be given protection against 3 genning. Does anyone see a double standard?
It wasn’t for legion. Went from being unbearable to a decent mid-tier killer.
-
@Pulsar said:
This.
No insults to anyone in the match, they clearly have different priorities and that's fine.
That being said, when you get teammates that don't do gens and then do things like this, it's extremely demoralizing. You have a Killer that excels at camping and I'm put into an instant-loss scenario through zero fault of my own.
That is exactly why a lot of people are burnt out of DBD. Lack of meaningful agency and feeling like their own skill doesn't matter, be that on Killer or Survivor.
Yeah basekit BT does literally nothing sometimes. When i’m in this situation against trickster I hide behind the little hay bale next to the pallet, saved me a couple of times.

COH I don't know much about, tbh, never liked Boons.
But Ruin and Thrill? Those two suffered unnecessarily.
Definitely not a full revert to old COH, but it can be buffed or reworked in some way to make it useable again.
-
For killer:
- 0-1k = loss
- 2k = tie
- 3-4k = win
For survivor Im a little more flexible on what I see as a win. It all depends on my team and what I could do to help them. If my team is decent and 3-4 of us die then I consider it a loss, even if I’m the only one to escape. If 3 or 2 people make it out but I died then I consider it a win/tie. If my team is crouching in the corner, not bodyblocking, or sandbagging then I don’t care if they die.
-
@GeneralV said:
It doesn’t have to be completely reverted
Hell yes it does! Those are the good stuff, my friend.
Here we go:
-Ruin
-BBQ
-Thrill of the Hunt
-WGLF
-Remember Me
-Decisive Strike
-Self-Care
-Spine Chill
-Balanced Landing
-Iron Will
-Borrowed Time (I swear no one uses it anymore)
And if I've forgotten anything, someone please remind me later.
P.S: I wrote this while listening to Holding Out for a Hero and this felt epic.
Totems in general need a comeback. COH, Ruin, Thrill can all make a comeback if they made buffed them slightly.
-
Hot take: I actually like reworked coldwind, even if its a little too big imo.
Other than that I like dead dog, macmillan, and hawkins. Haddonfield would be there too if it wasn’t the size of a continent and more then 2 pallets in the middle.

I want to preface this by saying Kindred is mandatory for me so all builds listed include it.
Generator Repair Build:
- Deja Vu
- Resilience
- Prove Thyself
Altruism Build:
- We'll Make It
- Botany
- Desperate Measures
Self-Care Build
- Self-Care
- Botany
- Desperate Measures
For the gen build you should replace one of the perks for Repressed Alliance or Built to Last + a strong tool box. My gen build right now is
- Resilience (most reliable speed increase imo)
- Repressed Alliance (if you time it right you can deny Pain Res and Pop)
- Built to Last (combine this with a commodious toolbox)
- Off the Record (anti tunneling + gives you distortion for 80 seconds so you can keep working on gens)
