Agitation can work wonders vs a Sabo squad. It is beyond terrible for them if Agitation gets you to the hook before the sabo is complete and you end up knocking the sabo user to the ground. Even if you don't get a Sabo Squad, Agitation pairs nicely with Pain Resonance because it makes it more likely you can get to the scourge hooks to activate it.
Thanks for recommending Agitation. As much as I love Pain Resonance, I've dealt with some bad RNG on Shelter Woods/MacMillan (Scourge hooks all on the far corners of the map) and The Game (Scourge hooks only on the lower level). So Agitation would definitely help with that.

Bring franklins if you think they're running a sabo toolbox
Ahh...I don't know why I didn't think of Franklins. But that was also my fault since I wasn't paying attention to what the Survivors were bringing into the match.

I have pretty much everything unlocked on Xbox, but I'll be switching to PC very soon. The grind is gonna be insane. ๐ซ
That's my life right now since I switched over to PC from Xbox a few months ago. It hasn't been easy. lol
On the plus side, the benefit of having played a lot on Xbox helps you to better focus your efforts on PC. So with Survivors I have leveled them up in the following order to get the best teachables: Dwight (Bond/Prove Thyself) - Bill (Borrowed Time/Unbreakable) - David (Dead Hard/WGLF) - Tapp (Detective's Hunch) - Laurie (Decisive Strike). I also lucked out by snagging Inner Strength from the Shrine.
For the best Killer teachables, I started out by leveling up: Leatherface (BBQ) - Deathslinger (since he's my favorite Killer) - Hag (Ruin/Devour) - Nurse (Nurse's Calling) - Trickster (Starstruck) - Plague (Corrupt Intervention/Infectious Fright) - Blight (Undying) - Michael Myers (STBFL) - Clown (Pop). The only really good teachables I'm missing are Tinkerer, Discordance and Agitation.
-
Indeed. I've had no issue finding a match as a Survivor, but it's taken forever to find a match as Killer. I ended up not waiting.
-
@GannTM said:
Because of survivors getting terrified of the perk and trying to find the totem, it not only makes it a lethality perk, it also makes it a game delay perk to some extent.
Indeed. That's a great point about it being a time waster.
-
What?!? Wow...I had no idea. I thought I was up on DbD happenings, but I guess you miss a day, you miss a lot! lol
-
OK. Thanks, y'all. I'll try this out.
-
Ok cool. I was able to complete this challenge in my next match as Plague.
Now to continue to work to get Bill's new cosmetic in the rift. All the way to Level 70 in the rift...whew lol
-
That's so strange. I had 4 stacks of BBQ and 3 of the Survivors were sacrificed. I'll try this again
-
I'm always surprised when players claim that it is easy to rank up as Killer because that has not been my experience AT ALL. While I have found it to be relatively easy to rank up as a Survivor (my highest rank before rank reset has been 5)--playing Killer can be stressful at any rank lower than, say, 14. If I were consistently playing against other yellow ranks or even green ranks, then that would be one thing. Instead, I am constantly matched against red and purple Survivors, so getting through and out of green ranks has taken a lot of effort.
-
My position on ranking is this...if a Killer's familiarity/experience (or lack thereof) with a character isn't taken into account, then a Killer's rank should set the UPPER limit for the ranking of the individual members of the group that you're facing. So if I'm 13, then the group I'm going against should be 13 or BELOW. This prevents the issue of someone bringing in one member who is ranked lower than me, and then the rest of the group is red ranked (which has happened quite often to me). I could even agree with the idea of allowing 1 rank higher, but certainly not 5 or more.

@Moundshroud said:
The bigger, more painful, question to ask is.... am I the damn Solo stuck in with a 3-Person SWF. If so, you have no reason to assume any altruism on their part that involves any real risk. Sadly, they will only save you if it is 100% safe, so they can get those sweet points and steps toward an emblem. If it is not safe, you are the sacrifice they are willing to make because you aren't truly one of them.
One of the great tragedies of SWF is the damage it does to the Solo experience. I suspect, the impact on Solo players is even more harsh and painful than it is on Killers. Trust and cooperation in the Solo Queue is at an all time low, and that is because a large number of matches aren't really Solo anymore. Most of those people in there are a SWF, and you are their Red Shirt.
You are so right about the lack of trust and cooperation. That's a great way to explain it.
-
I just earned my first Merciless Killer with Pig, and it was against pretty decent Survivors too. That match was both fun and challenging. I think I might continue to play Pig as one of my regular Killers. ๐ท๐ท๐ท
-
One more thing...I like Surveillance A LOT. That was the main reason why I decided to buy the Saw DLC (along with Detective's Hunch on Tapp), and it does not disappoint. I'm a Deadslinger main, and I can easily see how Surveillance would be valuable on him.
-
@Northener1907 said:
Traps only can activate after gen finish. So in egc your traps will be useless. Devs nerfed that because so many Pig mains abused it.
Got it. That makes sense. I've had success with Survivors being killed by my traps before the EGC, and I thought it applied during EGC as well. Guess not lol

I hate people who camp pallets when I am the one in a chase. Go be productive and get out of the way.
Something similar happened to me earlier. I was being chased, but a Meg was running from the killer in front of me. We both were running towards a pallet, and then the Meg dropped the pallet without looking back to see if the killer was even close to her.
Solo queue is rough. lol

Alright, yeah, I think unlocking the Cannibal faces is bugged at the moment. I just killed another Meg, and I still didn't unlock the face...

Similarly, I would put David as 'Hard' instead of 'Intermediate' since No Mither is typically pretty difficult to use compared to Bill's perks at least.

the person saying "gg" does.
just because YOU might not think of it as a "good game", doesnt mean that everyone shares this opinion.
and given that everyone has a different definition of what a "good game" is, you cant tell others the game was or was not good, as in their eyes this view might differ quite drastically.
No one is saying that the Killer couldn't/shouldn't have believed that it was a "good game" even though it was a one-sided contest. Rather, the point of this thread is to ask whether it is indeed rude to communicate "ggwp" to a team that got stomped on. One doesn't negate the other.
-
@Mister_xD said:
why would it be?
you just said it was, in your opinion, a good game.
there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Who said it was a good game? As the OP, I certainly didn't think it was.

@Hex_Llama said:
The GG part, to me, is like shaking hands after you play a sport. If no one was toxic during the match, I think it's actually extra polite for the winner to say GG first, because it puts everyone on an even plane. If the winner was toxic, then it's rude, because they were disrespectful the whole time you were playing and that cancels any attempt to look respectful after.
The WP part is more complicated. If I played really badly and someone typed GG WP, it would communicate to me that they aren't even paying attention to what they're saying, in which case it's the same as not saying anything.
I think your second paragraph seals it for me. I accept that 'GG' is used as an electronic handshake and is a sign of good sportsmanship. However, the 'WP' when used to mean Well Played--especially when a match by any objective standard was not well played--feels dishonest and a little scummy. I'm cool with 'GG', no need to add extra with a misplaced 'WP'.

That definitely applied in the earlier match. lol What would the WP mean?
-
@JFF said:
GG WP is form of electronic handshake and that you respect your opponent. Many people just say it when they win, which completely loses it's purpose. Either say gg whether it's victory or defeat, or just don't at all.
But wouldn't saying GG WP after every match dilute it of its purpose too? To me, it would be like adding an exclamation point (!) after every sentence. It would quickly lose its value/meaning.

Ok cool. I haven't checked out the DbD Discord, but if that's the solution then I will try out. Thanks!

I submitted a lost progress ticket with video of losing pips for canceled matches. I've lost at least 7 in the last couple days. I only got a generic email saying it's a known bug they are working on. :/ Would be nice to replace the pips we've lost due to this bug.
Yeah. I've been down that road as well. Sadly, I've never gotten any of my pips reinstated.

OP, I've been struggling with this issue for the past few weeks. I play on Xbox One, and recently the game has been disconnecting on me either before the match or during game play. It's gotten so bad and has happened so repeatedly that I got a 72-hour ban. I've submitted multiple bug reports but to no avail. I understand your frustration.
-
Yes, this has happened to me recently as Killer when the screen glitched as a Survivor used Dead Hard. It almost looks like the Survivor has teleported.
-
This started happening to me a couple of days ago on Xbox One (pre-patch). Since the patch has been live, I haven't had any issues
-
The same thing has been happening to me on Xbox One since yesterday.
-
Maps played were Crotus Penn, Glenvale, Auto Haven and, most recently, Coldwind Farm. The only common Survivor perk used was Hope.

I got something like that after being sacrificed, and hitting continue on the post game scoreboard screen- and it gave me a 30 minute DC penalty the other day. I didn't even DC for days before that, it just escalated straight to 30.
I was livid.
Yeah. That is frustrating. I'm currently at a 13-minute DC penalty...SMH
-
Ugh! It just happened again. This is the fifth time today. I notice the game seems to cut out when I either try to open a chest or work on a generator.

Pig is one of the few killers like Leatherface that can just choose to guarantee 1 kill whenever they want, by tunneling the person with a head trap. I don't think that makes her A though.
Ruin nerf was a give and take. I liked the slowdown of the original but I detested those red skill checks. The new one is almost more annoying because you let gens at 50% go back to 0 and lose the whole game.
And then Spirit, she's not as hard to play as Nurse. You just need Stridor and some headphones.
While I agree that Spirit is not as hard to play as Nurse, I certainly don't think she's one of the easier killers to pick up and play. In fact, I would say she's only one notch below Nurse and Blight in terms of level of difficulty and ease of use.
-
People underestimate the level of skill required to be good with Spirit. Even when using a headset, not being able to see survivors while phasing makes using this killer more challenging than, say, Wraith or Trapper.
-
Update: On my first match of the day, I earned my first adept on Deathslinger. And this time the achievement actually unlocked on my Xbox lol
Next I'm going to go back and try to complete the adept with Cannibal and then with some of the other killers I like to play. This has been a cool challenge since it has forced me to really learn how to use the killers and their powers without the benefit of my typical builds.

I had this happen once, and it's just the achievement system lagging a little. It eventually showed I got it.
That's encouraging because I am ready to move on from this build lol
-
Good news/bad news...
Good news--I just earned a Merciless Killer using Cannibal and only his 3 perks! This came as a surprise since I was on a map that I don't find favorable to the Cannibal (The Game).
Bad news--For whatever reason, my Xbox didn't unlock this as an adept achievement. There was definitely a Merciless Killer screen notification and I earned 2 pips, but no trophy this time. I'm guessing it's an issue with the emblems (as mentioned above). *grumble*
-
OP, it's cool that you posted this since I am doing the same challenge now. I already have Meg, and I am missing the other three. Since I am now ranked pretty low due to the recent reset, I have had a good time playing some chill games while seeking out Claudette, Dwight and Jake in the lobbies.
The only that sucks it that there's no counter available to let you know how many more sacrifices you need to get the face. I swear I have taken out enough Claudettes, but still nothing. *shrug*

Basically instead of collecting all the points from the archives I save some of them. This game has a max bloodpoint storage of 1,000,000 bloodpoints. I'm doing this so that when a new chapter comes out I'll have more than a million points to spend on the new chapter.
That makes sense. Thanks!

What platform do you guys play on? I mostly play on PS4 and I've never had this issue with any map, even maps that are designed specifically to be easy for survs to hide on.
Yeah, I play on an Xbox One. Plus my TV is already set to its brightest levels.

Yep. You can also add Midwich to the mix. Both Midwich and Badham are ridiculously dark in certain areas.
