I'll dumb it down for you:
GAME
GAME HAS BUG
BUG IS RARE
BUG HAPPEN VERY VERY FEW PEOPLE
NEW SYSTEM ADDED IN, FIXES DC ISSUES
PEOPLE WANT ENTIRE SYSTEM DOWN BECAUSE "GAME IS BUGGY"
BUG IS RARE
BUG HAPPEN TO VERY VERY FEW PEOPLE
That is literally the extent of our conversation. You refuse to acknowledge or even come up with a response about my point. I'm sure the devs are competent enough to see how stupid you make yourself sound.
You’re absolutely wrong lmfao. It happens all the time. And whether it happens 1 time in 10 games doesn’t matter because the penalties ADD up. There are way too many bugs for a DC penalty. And even if it does only happen once, I shouldn’t have to wait a minute for something I didn’t do. Or 5 minutes

Not sure how i am selfish for my teammate leaving but ok
I like the killer DC idea it's fair
I hate the survivor DC idea
I can already see a killer being able to secure a 3 gen strat vs 3 survivors and one of them DC's to completly circumvent that
Or someone DCing to trigger other survivors adrenaline
It would get abused so much
Well the survivor one would work like how it does when you load into the game. 4 survivors load in 5 Gens. 3 survivors load in 4 gens. 2 survivors load in 3 gens etc. If you get a situation where there’s 3 survivors left with 1 generator left and then one of them DC’s, it wouldn’t make the last gen automatically be done. That would only happen if all survivors DC or if there’s a 4 Gens left then somebody DC’s it would make 3 Gens left.
plus why would somebody DC when there’s only one gen left lol

For tunneling? definitely
I play survivor too, i know it sucks but DCing only hurts your teammates and rewards the killer who tunneled, promoting them to tunnel even more
If by slugging you mean all 4 survivors down and the killer is just waiting for the timer to run out to be annoying, that i can understand, there is no game left to ruin
but then not only are they being selfish but you are too. I never really blame a survivor for DCing if I see the killer tunneling them off hook. I actually laugh sometimes because I get the feeling. You shouldn’t be forced to play a game that you can’t even play. Read my post above^ to see a solution instead of forcing people.

@Aneurysm said:
Most survivor DC's I see are from getting downed first or too soon for their liking and most killer ones are from not being able to catch a survivor fast enough. How exactly are the devs supposed to please both of these types of players?
If a killer DC’s most of the time it’s so survivors don’t get extra points for escaping. Or even points in general.
so if a killer DC’s have everybody gain and keep all the points they got from the match and Count it as an “escape” for the survivors so they also get those points. Guarantee there will be less killers DCing because it would only just hurt themselves.
if a survivor DC’s have the game automatically finish a gen (like it does if a survivor leaves during the loading screen, 3 survivors start with 4 Gens) and grant everybody bloodpoints for abandonment. Problem solved.
People will still DC but at least you won’t mess everybody else up.

@Sonzaishinai said:
Cause the term unfun is insanly loose
If the DC's are an indication it's unfun for a survivor to be outplayed in a chase, or found in the first minute of the game
The main reason people DC is cause they are losing
And you blame the survivor for DCing when he gets tunneled and slugged? Lol blame the killer (or don’t blame either)

Examples:
- The Game = DC
- They're going to basement = DC
- The killer has a mori = DC
- The killer pulled you off an unsafe unhook = DC
- The game started and the killer found you and downed you = DC
- The last guy besides you found hatch = DC
There are many reasons why people DC, not just bad game desing, and actually it's pretty much more common for people to DC if they are dying early in the game than for going to a map they hate
If you would like to be put in the basement tunneled and camped (even just tunneled) then fine go enjoy it on your own and don’t make the person being funneled FORCED to play.
plus since they are being tunneled they are useless to do anything anyway.
getting put on the hook within the first 30 seconds of the game sucks because you’re most likely not going to escape, you’re down 1 life(if not 2) and you’ll most likely have bad teammates who can’t do anything. Why play? When will you people get this through your head lmao
you don’t sit through a game on cod against a tryhard and just keep dying 30+ times with only 4 kills, do you? Some people will but most wont. You wouldn’t sit through that game nor would people would to sit through this.

@ThirdEyeGod said:
The main reason people DC is because this game has a lot of unfun aspects to it. Unfair maps, killer addons like iri head, etc. How come the devs don't focus on fixing these things first? I understand that maps can take awhile to fix, but iridescent head has still been here for years? Keys and moris too? I think if devs were to focus on making their game more fun then their would be a lot less DC's/killing self on hook. It also doesn't help that you are forced to play ranked mode, and there is no casual mode for players.
Exactly. FINALLY somebody gets it. You’re absolutely right.

Just... just dont hook them! Or at least slug them, if they aren’t on the hook then they’ll have time to think about it. Or they might just DC and get the penalty. I’ve done this twice to people wanting to kill themselves and they ended up dcing because I didn’t let them die easily.
To clear something up I was playing legion with his new pin add on that brought survivors into the broken state and some people didn’t want to go against it and they wanted to leave their team, THATS why I didn’t kill them. I put myself in the perspective of the other survivors and thought “man that’d really suck if my teammates wanted to purposely die”. So either they’d decide to play normally, or dc with the new ban. Thanks for understanding.
@Fibijean my point exactly from my post :) it’s already started.

Sorry, I assumed the final paragraph was part of the scenario. Still, I don't think that's likely to be as prevalent as you're assuming, because killers like to have fun too, even toxic killers, and that is just as boring and unrewarding for them as it is for the survivors.
Yeah i guess we will have to see. Thanks for your input

I ignored the slugging part because it wasn't relevant to the point I was trying to make, but if you really want it addressed: if you throw yourself at the killer because you want to die and the killer recognises that and slugs you instead, far from being toxic, that makes them a decent person who apparently cares more about your teammates' gameplay experience than you do. You deserve to be punished for unsportsmanlike behaviour like that.
Also, if all they do is slug you until you bleed out, that means you'll be out of the game and playing with your friend in less than five minutes. If you have time to play the game at all, you can wait five minutes to play with your friend.
No no I meant the last paragraph. Some killers now will just slug everybody to be toxic because they know they can’t DC.

Except that’s not the point you were arguing though? You were saying you’re not happy that if you go find the killer immediately and let them down you they might slug you to not let you suicide and go to another game. That’s a totally different scenario than slugging everyone just because.
Also the intended first penalty is 1 minute. Anything else is a bug and unintended for first time offenders. It an emergency happens you won’t be queuing up within a minute anyway.
Except that is my point. I said it in my last paragraph in my original post.
and I understand that, but how long do these penalties last stacking together? If I DC from a game and get the 1 min, then DC from a game 2 hours later will I get the 5 min?

Ahm, I'm not in that argument, but I can help @LordRegal and @Fibijean by saying I'm an adult with 3 kids and a wife, full time job and I play only after they're all sleep. My FRIIENDS can wait for me to finish a game without any problem at all and I think dying on 1st hook is just BS to othe PEOPLE who are trying to enjoy a game as much as I do...
That’s fine. I also can do that. But some people can’t and don’t have time to. Just because some people can doesn’t mean some people can’t. I love this game and play it all the time, but watching the Devs slowly kill it just pains me

Full time job, married, out of school for long enough it doesn’t feel weird at all anymore. You’re welcome to dismiss the argument if you don’t like it, but in the end I prefer to not be selfish and screw over people who don’t deserve a teammate suiciding or DCing.
I would rather not either but my point is that this game is a casual game. Not something Everybody takes serious. Stuff happens. People have lives. To penalty first and second time offenders is ridiculous. (Not even talking about the DC bugs that cause you to get a penalty, which is even more ridiculous) they need to be a little bit more loose with the penalties is what I’m saying.
but once I start going around slugging everybody every game watching them bleed out I’m sure more people will realize

I say this with total honesty: if anyone I know and I were on either end of the situation you described, our response would be “ah, ok, let me know when you’re out of that game, I don’t mind waiting a few minutes.” OR “ah, ok, killer queues are short so I’ll play a killer game, message each other when we’re done?” There’s no reason at all to ruin 4 other people’s experience for a match just to appease 2 people.
@Fibijean said:
Here's what you do in that scenario:
Say to your friend "Sorry mate, just got into a game, give me ten minutes and I'll join you."
Your friend says, "Oh okay, sure thing, I'll just watch YouTube/play my own game/do whatever for a few minutes while I wait."
You finish your game, you hop into one with your friend, the two of you have a great time, problem solved. And no one else's game got ruined because of it.
I’m guessing you’re both still just kids. That’s fine. There’s adults out here that have jobs and families to take care off and don’t have much time to play so would rather just leave and hang with their buddies while they can.
love how both of you ignored the slugging part lmfao

80% : 20%
Rank 1 : Rank 1
Because survivor is more relaxing and chill, can happily go in a game with any perk and feel confident i can have a decent and fun game, however killer i feel you need to focus more and need a good build to do as well. killer games can also be more frustrating if against a good swf or the toxic people that send messages after so survivor just makes a more fun experience more often.

1. You can suicide on hook and get the same results of a different game.
2. Dcing gives you nothing but wasted time while suiciding on hook or waiting the 2 minutes if unsaved gets you what you earned.
3. Unless you are found and camped near the very start of the match you should have some points even if it's 3k which is enough for a cheap addon/item.
4. I dont think there is a sytem in place to "reward" you for dying at the start of the game you barely did anything and that very easily could be an immersed player who waits for their allies to die so they can get hatch. Why risk rewarding nonplayers?
You didn’t get my point. My point is why add a DC penalty of 3 DC’s when there’s games where you get killed right away and facecamped until death. Their point of “the killer is throwing the game to just kill one survivor” isn’t that well oriented, because the hooked survivor gets barely any points and doesn’t even get to play. People get slugged after being tunneled to avoid DC. That’s very annoying, So most people just DC.
if a survivor gets killed right away and face camped, there is no incentive or reason they should stay in the game. You add a DC penalty you need to add an incentive for tunneled and camped survivors to stay in the game.
- you can’t get the same results of a different game.
- and 3. Yes because I’m so in need of like 3k or less bloodpoints that I got in a game. Most people would rather DC and prevent giving that sc[bad word] killer points for tunneling and camping.
4 - that’s not my point

After the adjustments to protection hit procs, Mettle now can gain more than 1 charge in a single encounter unlike before. Bring a styptic (and even Breakout to help the carried survivor even more) and you'll have 2/3 charges in a single go.
Bring a styptic is not a good trade off at all. Plus most of the times that I bring one I get facecamped right after. And I only have a limited amount of styptics that means I’ll only be able to do it a limited couple of times.

I was able to use it to save someone who was dead on hook. They escaped. I don't think they felt very hurt.
They probably wouldn’t have been on the hook if you spent that time doing gens instead.
Takes at least like 2 minutes to activate MoM. From following the injured survivor and healing and running to them again 3 times
so they were probably hurt

So a friend of mine that is a survivor main asked me to go to a custom game to try window tech.
Even tho it didnt work (because he was practising) many people can use this "juke" really well to make the killer lose all the advantage he had on you, even tho it is easily counterable.
And this kept me thinking...
Isn't this a "juke" based on a flaw of the game? This is dependant on the fact that the killer becomes immaterial in the middle of the vault animation. It seems to me, abusing a flawed game mechanic and nothing more than that. Just to clarify: feel free to use it as it is a devs fault for making it like it is and not youra for using it, im not saying "screw people who use it".
I know it takes practice, but it shouldnt exist, like the poor FoV that killers have.
Another thing that bothers me is the hook tech.
Why the hell can a survivor put himself behind a hooked person and the killer not?
And why did they remove the "wall smacking" when smacking someone on the hook? Auto aim also sucks so it doesnt help on the matter.
EDIT: TLDR; Window tech shouldn't exist even tho it is easily counterable by hearing the survivor. It's a game flaw. Hook tech shouldn't exist.
Share your thoughts.
The only tech that I think should be removed is tractor tech. On the harvester. It’s so cheap and basically a free kill

A few thousand is a handful, relative to the entire DBD playerbase. Sure, a lot of people might be interested in having a prestige version of their favourite cosmetics, but how many people would be specifically interested in a bloody version of Meg's Tempo Runner Braids, or Jeff's Gallery Opening Gala Dress Shirt and Blazer? That's what I'm talking about, not that there aren't that many people that would care for the idea in general, but the devs would have to do that for each individual piece, and how many players are really going to benefit from one single cosmetic piece having blood on it?
Any kind of investment is a matter of balancing sacrifice and reward. What you get out of it has to be worth what you put in for it to be a good investment. Your essay metaphor is a great example. If you write a great essay, you may well be able to make it a near-perfect essay by spending ten more hours working on it. But is the difference between a 95% and a 98% really enough to make all that additional work worthwhile, when you could have spent those ten hours improving your health or spending quality time with your family, or getting a different project halfway done? Probably not.
If the developers had infinite hours to work on the game, this is probably something that would be worth doing. But they have limited time and limited resources, and there are many, many things that are more worthwhile for them to be spending those resources on.
Like only cash grabs?
theres a reason why fortnite is still on top. They actually get involved with their players, and add some new things to the game that are free. They add little details that people don’t even ask for but are grateful to have. Plus they’re fast at updating bugs and nerfs.
bhvr needs to space out the chapter updates a little more or be quicker with bug fixes/nerfs/buffs/updates and new features.
or even just forget about 1 new chapter and just focus on fixing things

When I said "minimal reward" I meant mainly for the community. Having a prestige option for every single skin just because there might be a few community members who would like blood splatters on that particular cosmetic isn't really worth the investment.
The devs do work hard to do good things for the community all the time. Personally, I'd rather those good things took the form of new cosmetics with widespread appeal rather than recolours of old ones that only a handful of people would even care about.
A handful of people?? Just because you don’t care about doesn’t mean thousands of people don’t lol. There is 0 point to prestige. If they add this feature of adding the blood to shop items, it would be awesome. Personally idc whether they do or not because I know BHVR and I know they won’t end up doing it, like everything else. But if this was a thing then I’d start prestiging my characters.
and I know what you meant by “minimal reward” but that excuse isn’t even good. That’s like not adding extra stuff to your essay or presentation to make it even better to secure the 100%. It’s the little features they could add that would make this game 10x better.
-
@Fibijean said:
The devs have addressed this on many occasions. They can't do a single "blood overlay". In order to make this work, they would have to manually apply blood splatters to every single cosmetic that exists, which would be a huge amount of work for minimal reward.
Prestige cosmetics do still mean something to some people, especially for characters who don't have that many Store cosmetics. Some people would rather save their shards for characters or perks, and so they like being able to buy an outfit with bloodpoints. Some just genuinely prefer the blood-splattered default outfit to anything in the Store.
If it makes you feel any better, given how easy prestige is to get now, you're not really missing out on much in the "showing off" department by not using the prestige outfit. In fact, if you care about that sort of thing, Store cosmetics are probably more of a flex than a prestige head.
God forbid the Devs actually have to work to do something good for the community. for free.

I'm basing it on well over 4,000 hours played as both sides at rank 1 on every reset for years. That's quite a lot of collected data. Keep in mind my survivor play is almost exclusively solo as well.
Most people that don't think the game is survivor sided in terms of power role are people that don't play both sides at the max rank or are new players in general and are solely basing their opinion watching streamers/youtubers or the flawed stats we have.
Lower ranks do not give an accurate read of the games balance as most lower rank survivors play really bad and make killers look stronger than they are.
Low ranked killers play bad as well. So you’re absolutely wrong. End of discussion

Doesn’t mean that much. I don’t play last year because I don’t like the fact that you can respawn, the fact that killers are just able to roam freely in their invisible/creative mode. But everything else is cool. And I’m sure a lot of people don’t play it because of that. Doesn’t mean that it’s bad, it’s just not scary to me. The Devs need to take ideas from others because their ideas don’t work that good most of the time.

Just curious to see how many people have been playing Killer over the past few months leading up until now; and if the theory that people around the world are playing Killer less now is true or false (due to the massive wait times as Survivor).
I know that I have switched sides in the past month, but I'm wondering if the current state of the game has forced others to do the same due to the frequent 'reworks' and nerfs that Killers have been handed since August which has caused more pressure and stress to those playing the role.
I believe that it is crucial to know this so we can see the true extent of the game health for Dead by Daylight, and what it might look like going forward into Q1 and Q2 2020.
Before the long que times for survivor, there were long que times for killers. It kinda just goes back and forth. Especially with the archive challenges, more people will be playing survivor now most likely.
1 reason being that survivor challenges require you to get into a game with other good survivors, not a tryhard killer, and a lucky game.
another reason being there are a lot of potato survivors who have a very hard time doing these challenges
i spent so many games just trying to get that unhook 1 person during endgame challenge. But with the killer challenges, I got them in 1 game or as fast as I could, because I control how the game goes and can complete them easier. With survivor challenges I can’t so they require more games, more games = less killers

Yeah I rarely ran BL so to me it wasn’t that bad. I would like the stagger to also be 100% though, or at least 90%, but I don’t think that’ll happen due to killers probably not being ok with it

No, the stats are FLAWED. If 20 people play, and 10 kill their selves on 1st hook, and the other 10 escape, there's your 50%. Now, is that fair to use that data to tweak the game? Obviously not
You know how many times people I know have left their killer afk to farm bps and xp?
how many times I’ve seen a killer let a survivor live and give him hatch? (Literally carry a survivor and drop him at the hatch or door)
farm with survivors and let them leave?
the stats aren’t that far off bud. Could even be a higher % and not lower

killers win again.
