I'm with you. If it is as bad as people say, I trust that they'll be doing their best to make it right.
But also, Monopoly is a real board game. Just because it's popular doesn't make it inferior. No need to be so pretentious about it.
Yeah. I dont think they are trying to mess over the player base.
Oh and the Monopoly thing was just a joke. Not being pretentious, just trying to bring some levity to a conversation that I think is a bit overly serious. But old roll and move games are really outdated, except maybe Clue. In all seriousness I dont care what people like to play.

It's the weekend. They are at home.

Yes thats how it'll work. But they initially said it should only take ~70 hours to complete (an hour a day). Player estimates are showing its around 50% more time. Not to mention some of the challenges seem almost impossible and borderline trolly for the community (Sacrifice multiple survivors using NOED during the EGC, etc). Its like they looked at what people most complained about and specifically implemented it as a challenge. I'm kinda surprised there isnt one that says "As a survivor on your first down - DC" lmfao
Having challenges that a stupid hard is this thing I figured was coming but an hour a day vs. an hour and thirty or forth minutes, of game time, just doesnt look like doomsday to me. I play board games, real board games not like Monopoly!, and the makers always downplay the playtime on the box. You always have to add like and 30 minutes to an hour per player to get a real estimation of how long a game takes. Why? Because every company uses their own data to come up with those numbers. In board games they use the time it takes for people who know the game and rules inside and out to play, not someone new or learning. 70 to 80 hours is was BHVR's data says it should be but of course it wont be. They even say they will take in feedback to make sure its not unfair.
"Our goal for our first Tome and Rift is to base our completion targets on the average daily play time of 1 hour/user, provided by our internal data. Given this, completion of The Rift and all its rewards should take roughly 70 to 80 hours of gameplay, provided players accomplish Challenges from each role.
We want everything to feel achievable within a reasonable amount of time for all players, to not feel like any reward is unfairly out of reach. We will be gathering all sorts of feedback to ensure The Archives is enjoyable for many updates to come, for all players."
I just dont get the whole "the sky is falling" reaction. While I do trust BHVR to mess stuff up... I do also trust they will try and make things right in the end. Hallowed Blight last year shows that.

I dont know if anyone has brought this up yet but wouldnt you be earning rift fragments from devotion at the same time your doing the challenges? Im not on PC so I dont know about how it is working on the PTB... but if the math is right then...
(111 hours + challenges at the same time) / 70 days = a bit over 1 and half hours a day.
Add in variances for wait times and challenges you struggle with, it still seems manageable... if you Do earn fragments from devotion at the same time you finish challenges which Im guessing is true.
-
When I quit F13 it was full of kids calling me the n word and blaring music constantly. Do you REALLY think that DbD would be better? Every single game I have ever played that is how people acted. It will hurt the game more than help and will spread toxicity like nothing else.

The sheer talent and hard work that everyone put into the contest was amazing, I am sure that the team had a hard time to pick winners.
I wouldnt of wanted to of been in their shoes when they had to pick the winners! Pass them a thank you for their hard work if you can! The art design in this game is so inspiring as a wannabe artist myself. And I cant wait for the next contest!

Even making it to the finalists was quite an accomplishment- there were so many amazing entries that didn't make it that far. Your entry was pretty great, I love the little details like the bird on the left.
Fingers crossed for next time, you've definitely got a shot.
Thank you! Yeah there was so many great entries! Its why Im not at all disappointed. Its so nice to have events like this to let people express their love for this game when a lot of the time things can be a bit divisive. One thing I think all can agree is that there is some wonderful artists in this community.

Kills, moris, bleedouts, and DCs are all counted towards the stats (as they are with other killers). This is the most reliable way to take statistics. A lot of the time when survivors DC, it's because the match isn't going their way. If you were to exclude any matches with disconnects, you would be skewing the statistics towards matches that worked in the survivors favour.
The disconnect rate for Ghost Face is comparatively low compared to some other killers (nurse, for example).
My only question would be is the amount of players of each killer also being taken into account? If there is way more Nurses and way less Ghostfaces then the data could be skewed. If there is many more Nurses the the chances of them being of a wider varance of player skill goes up. Just like if its way less Ghostfaces then it could be the hardcore ones who know him the best. It would be like comparing 5 handed picked apples to a bag full of good and bad ones. I just like statistics like this so that's why I ask. And I also don't think Ghostface is really that bad... not my best killer but I enjoy using him.

I bet it's a mistake since yesterday I saw the "tip" that leaving though the exit gates makes the RBT trigger.

So is that a problem or an unexpected helpful glitch? XD
A bit of both!

Just had a match on PS4 where I had a skill check circle on my screen most of the match. Was a nice reticle for spotting Ghostface though.
-
On HybridPanda's last Shrine Watch he was ran over by a whole team using wake up. It's at the 13 minute mark. It's crazy.
-
Dont like it, dont buy it. Seems pretty simple to me. No one is forcing you to spend more money on the game. Its OK, you can pass by that buy button safely. The evil battlepass wont hurt you!
-
@The_Bogeyman Why try and misconstrue what I was saying? Yes we are all consumers. I said, "Because I and the community as a whole get sold a bill of goods" pointing that out. The comment you are dwelling on is not to the players. It's a riff on the idea most companies don't listen to the people who buy their products. So it was a joke on that. I don't think Behavior is that bad but some seem to think that. But really I'm sure they are wading though tons of complaints, as always, so I was trying to come at this from a different perspective and ward off the common comments of "salty survivor main" or "salty killer main" at the same time. So I guess I'm just a "salty customer"? That's a change at least.
-
-
@NoShinyPony I concur. Im sure they went though ideas for her traps but maybe we can think up something they didn't.
All Amanda wanted to do was play a game...
-
@The_Bogeyman You do know DBD was free on PS+ right? But that's not what I meant at all. I mean that the loudest complaints get the attention. I'm not "crying over a patch or nerf". I'm talking about a product that was purchased. And my worry about where the game could be heading. That's all. There's no need for any snarkyness, friend. I just care about the game.
@EntityDispleased Nope not at all. I like the EGC quite a bit. I don't like the removal of an mechanic that was in the spotlight trailer, an advertisement, being removed. Especially when I believe there is ways to make the Pig's traps work within the EGC. So I'm nether shocked or pissed as you said. Just discouraged. That's all.
-
@NoShinyPony In all honesty, I agree. But the developers feel like a change needs to be made and so that's why we are here. In an ideal version the Pig would be a great end game killer and haver her own meta. Hopefully something can be done to make her at least as good as she is now, kinda mid teir, before the EGC release.
-
@Sentry I figured having the key in the first box would be fine since it seems a good amount of the time it is anyway. The fact you had more ideas shows there is ways to make her power work without removing part of it. Like the slowing down the timer idea.
@GT_Legend I agree. I think she got the short end of the stick.
@ColgateAdvancedWhite I just wanted to see if we can come up with ideas the developers haven't yet.
@Sairek True. It will be weaker but it's still better than them not working at all.
@Nicholas Do you know how you can tell when an idea is going in the right direction? One comment says it's too easy and the next says it's too difficult. The EGC is top stop the artificial extension of match, hatch camping and the like, not actual gameplay. Its why bloodwarden still works. All other killer powers work during the EGC. There is, at base, 4 boxes to search. The killer can't camp all 4 at the same time.@nicholas_0545

@TheShape78 Yeah most multi-player games are like this. My team where a dedicated Battlefield team before the series fell a part during BF1. Just what is happening feels too much like f2p tactics. Nerf the old and then release something shiny and new to replace it that you have to buy. I don't think its gone that far at all, but removing an advertised mechanic isnt a good road to go down. And I care too much about the game to not speak up.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses his narration. It was the Legion spotlight was the first without him, I think... maybe that was a sign. They probably wanted them to sound more cinematic or maybe he is too busy. I agreed, it's not the same.
-
@Ihatelife That's a big reason my team started this break from playing. That needs to be addressed more.
-
@Jigmac I fully expect my post to be ignored in favor of those who are the loudest. What do I know? I'm just a consumer.

But what are these points even for anyways? I don't particularly care about ranks, but even if I did how are these points helping me do that? What are these points building up to?
What he is saying is that the "points" represents a reward like bp. So like 500 bp might be a "point". They are a unit of measurement.
I love this kind of idea but yeah... They are never going to add a debuff like that even though it would, in the long run, fix some major issues.

Whilst your running around with your ice picks I will be strutting my stuff as my leopard print Ace.
Leopard print Ace is obviously OP. Too much intimation. Where mountain climber Kate is very balanced. Skins should really be redone to be more balanced like her. Maybe they can get that done between now and the Freddy rework!

Well even if it hurts gameplay in your opinion players should have a free option just like they stated before they released the store. Besides, getting skins via farming is a good way to keep players playing the game after they release a new chapter.
The skins are just a silly thing to have. Why does it matter if one person has a skin they paid for but another person can't. It's A Game. Enjoy it for what it is. If you want free skins, prestige! Bingo, 3 cosmetics on each survivor and killer for the low low price of free! That's a price even a Soviet Kommissar can get behind!
But me, I'm going to run around as mountain climber Kate and use my picks to climb over the wall and out of the match!

How the hell are they meant to have funds to fuel more R&D into new chapters if not for paid cosmetics?!
Right. Cosmetics are a harmless way for them to keep the game going. If you want them, then by them. If you don't, don't.

Once upon a time I thought similarly with Overwatch.
But let’s be honest: “cosmetics are a want not a necessity” is a conceit consumers tell ourselves when the game industry as a whole has abused our trust and wallets. Especially in games like Overwatch and dbd where there is very little way to differentiate and prove oneself, cosmetics eventually become status symbols.
The crappy capitalist corporatist behavior at Actiblizzard opened my eyes to this myth.
I think bhvr are more or less doing fine in this department (at least we have solid proof they care about this game and they’re continuously working on it) but I do think it would be wise if they lowered prices (I know I might be inclined to splurge more) and allowed more shard options, as well as making free base cosmetics such as giving Spirit some dang clothes and including Susie and Joey in the Legion.
Aye Comrade, these capitalist bourgeoisie are holding back the working classes with their fancy pizza boy skins and santa clowns! We demand the end of the cosmetics gap! Rise up comrades! Claim the paid skins that are rightfully yours!.... Or not, since they don't help in game and in reality hurt stealth gameplay. But you do you.

Correction addition:
He also stressed it was his first impression himself and that he finally had started to work her power out. Check his latest YouTube video.
I think the problem is her power isn't what they told us. It doesn't slow survivors down, whatever that means. It works better to break them in the chase so you can down them quickly. Which is fine but I think it subverted our expectations from the livestream Monday. I think she has issues but I'm more hopeful.

What about using vomited on objects to infect yourself when injured to get the fountain heal? If your far enough from the killer and within the time something stays infectious, that could be a strong strategy that I don't think is intended. Add that to fountains cleansing themselves when all are dirty... and it just seems like more problems.

My guess is The Matron and the most important part is that she will have a Mrs Claus costume for next Christmas to go with the Santa Clown.

@Might_Oakk Reinstalling seems to of fixed it. I just wonder what happened. Back luck I suppose. Thanks for the advice.

I was thinking I would try that... I would be ticked if I did that and it's still messed up. It was working after the first fix but then yesterday this started.
This is from the match yesterday.

Here is video of parts of that match.

Here is me breaking a lantern in that last match, I broke two, and it not even having the moonrise tab on the results screen. This wasn't before the patches. It was just a few minutes ago. I'm on PS4 and all patches are downloaded. I'm at my wits end with this.

-
@MandyTalk Has there been a second patch? What happened to me was after the first patch. It was earlier today, I had played last night and had made progress, so I know it was working before that match today. I haven't tried again. I do have the video, it shows the lanterns being broke and not counting and the tally screen not showing at the end of the match. I had 99/100 progress when I went into the match and that's what I left with. It's just frustrating because now three matches haven't counted, two before the patch, and I don't have a lot of time to play so that's basically a day of matches wasted. But thank you for the response and I hope it was just a one time thing.

Thank you!

Since Chapter VI (Freddy), the Chapter file names are named alphabetically after a random country. Since those files are accessible on PC, it's quite apparent, not so on console.I figured it was nothing but thought it was good for a laugh. It's the same on the add on list on my PS4.
