You can tell how involved they are by the nurse's evaluation. There's no need to even talk about it.

That's exactly the reason why it must be so radically though, as long as tunneling is possible all killers are inclined to do so.
Just make it impossible and balance it accordingly, otherwise tunneling will not die.
As I have said repeatedly everywhere. It is true that there is no physical way to prevent tunneling, but it is quite possible to create a situation where the killer does not want to do it. The problem is that there are too few survivors who do it properly, or in other words, decent survivors. If everyone did this, the frequency of tunneling would at least be halved, and the chances of surviving being tunneled would double. It's a sad story.

Or alternatively, we could make it so survivors have to "repair" (but not actually gaining any charges) generators for like 15 seconds STRAIGHT, without any interruption.
If gen gets kicked or survivor stops repair during that period, survivor becomes invincible again and ALL 15 seconds timer will be reverted.
I think you are underestimating the threat of reconnaissance drones, which are never shot down in the first place. You and others can use this in conjunction with the Empathy-type perk to let stealth-type killers be spotted and alert you to trappers and old hag traps without interference. You should have considered what I came up with in just two or three minutes.
In order to avoid being misused, we must not be able to obtain information unilaterally and remain invincible, but must take measures that do not involve mutual involvement at all. Someone may have said this, but it's much more sane to say, "Survivors who are taken unhook and rescued will respawn on the furthest hook from killer."
-
It smells like neologism. The crutch is probably the base kit, not the perk.

No more pallet drop during invincibility too then, only thing they can do is touch the gen and become hittable or just wandering around aimlessly and uselessly.
The party can also touch a nearby gen and then run with the background player. So, if implemented, it should be made so that the haste perk cannot be used for 5 seconds after invincibility is removed.
-
The rescued survivor becomes literally invincible, and all he has to do is chase the killer's butt and wait for a fellow survivor to go down near the pallet. Since the Killer cannot carry the Survivor on his shoulders forever, the Survivors recommend slug and vow not to complain about it.
-
Everyone who plays both Survivor and Killer appreciates Unknown to some extent. He doesn't have anything outstanding just looking at his chasing ability, but he does have decent gen management ability. After all, this game is about completing/sabotaging the gen.
-
At a time when the world is demanding more diversity, this thread and forums in general seem to be moving in the direction of not recognizing killers diversity.

Play any ranged killer or nurse and your opinion will change quickly
Ranged killers aren't that ferocious, and if you stay alert in areas with no cover, you'll get injured, but you'll be able to buy some time before going down. As for the nurse...I understand.
-
Not really which Survivor, bald Dwight and brown Claudette aside.
What's interesting is that other survivors are wearing the same outfit, so if you match that, there's about a half chance that you'll be run over by a demon-like killer. "SWF, right? Okay, let's kill him without hesitation." I can hear the killer's inner voice. It's not a terrible experience, but rather the overwhelming sight just makes me laugh.

What region are you playing? I want to try it. This cesspool of the same boring trial after another, playing out the same tunneling way, is worthy of leaving behind for foggier pastures.
I'm playing in Japan, and the entire East Asia area is matched. Of course, a bad game will have a bad outcome, but that's not always the case. We avoid sacrificing one person without at least completing a gen. Because if no one else is involved in gen, at least I will be the one to do it.
Sometimes I get tunneled myself. The best part was that my friends didn't waste time and only need one gen left before I died. This will definitely allow someone to escape. With that in mind, I watched the match. At the end, one person was hooked, but two people were able to save him by preventing a hook grab, and all three of them escaped with body blocks. However, this was also a match that showed the limits of M1 Killer, so I felt sorry for Killer.
-
If your goal is perk income, go for Singularity or Unknown. Dredge is fun to use.
-
I don't think they need to disappear, but they should be unable to warp within a certain range until they are unhooked. By doing so, survivors who do not want to killer warped will have enough time to erase the illusion.
-
Sometimes it begins with an audible heartbeat. That doesn't mean killer find you right away, so you should wait in the loop first.

Yeah but who uses that? I haven't even read their descriptions in a long time since it seemed so trivial of a use.
It's strange that it's not used even though it's so strong. It can also be used during chases. It's like a legal cheat.
-
Morally speaking, it is equivalent to a T-bag. If you're the kind of player who scolds your fellow survivors by pointing at them when they're raining T-bags, I sympathize with you.
However, if there is no judgment to take a hit, your allies will only lose the chance to save you unharmed, so it is better to leave the specifications as they are.
-
A lot of people put Unknown in the B tier, and I generally agree. The weakened status is a well-balanced debuff, which is a bit weak if your goal is to reduce chase time, but it also has the side effect of making it easier to hit survivors by not running the shortest distance.
Above all, the unexpected nature of warp use confuses survivors. It's inconvenient but practical.

People used to say that it was good because all the other survivors can focus on gens, but in reality all the other survivors hide behind boxes or follow the killer around so nothing gets done.
Yes, that sucks. They give up their numerical advantage and act selfishly. If they were altruistic, the result would be completely different.

It only takes a single Survivor being worse than the Killer for the game to be functionally over.
Corrupt stops early gen progress. PR will destroy gens after the chase. Same with Pop. Deadlock prevents more than one popping.
I don't know what sort of meh Killers are in your region or time of day, but most Killers stack slowdown and tunnel off of first hook.
Bad durvivors don't always get tunneled, and there are often matches where there are no bad survivors. It is far from my experience that even at such times the tunnel can ruin the game. I can still understand if it just puts you at a disadvantage.

It’s funny how everyone on these forums is at high MMR.
Where are all the crap players at?
I've seen so many posts like "I'm on a high MMR but I'm tired of the 5gen tunnel." Apparently they live in a different dimension than my experience. In my experience, this has only happened in a few battles or at most 10 battles in 5,000 hours of play, and those are also cases where the killer was a divine nurse or the victim was killed by a clearly bad rescue.
-
I remember getting this done by honestly trying to keep my distance from the killer. I was still immature at that time.

Can we update the game and make changes with solo queue in mind as well 😃. Solo queue as usual is in a god awful state and the last thing solo queue got that was helpful was the hud and people in solo queue still act oblivious even with the hud. The game is “survivor sided” because a killer ran into a good swf and lost their match and solo queue will suffer for it because they don’t have any bit of what a swf has (good coordination, comms, etc.). There are killer mains casually going on 1000+ winstreaks and we aren’t nerfing killer because of them alone so why does solo queue have because of how a swf manages. Before I hear anything saying solo queue is in a good spot tell me honestly how many of you are choosing to solo queue over taking a swf when playing survivor 😐. MMR just doesn’t exist and you can’t change my mind the amount of matches I’ll lose because of someone giving up early in the match, someone getting tunneled early in the match, pop and pain res winning a killer a match so on and so forth you’d think you’d be low mmr from not being able to escape any of my matches but no I still get comp blights ending the match at 4 gens after killing me and my solo queue team and saying himself that the game is survivor sided for swf but trash for solo queue after ending a match in 3 minutes. The killer meta makes the game unenjoyable tunneling makes the game unenjoyable you run into both solo queue while it’s already unbearable enough and each an every update seems like you just don’t want people to be able to play the game solo queue anymore 🙂.
The worst are those who commit suicide or DC for their own convenience, and the second worst are those who do not manage the hook state and try to survive only own, giving the killer an excuse to tunnel or camp other. What's also at fault are all the survivors who don't plan to complete the gen while staring at the HUD.
This game is a game about how you aim to complete the gen. Abandoning that purpose, he just chases the butt of the killer he's chasing with a flashlight in hand, or he gets so absorbed in the chase that he passes by others to prevent them from completing gen, or he collects all the pallets in a lopsided area, If he use nearly pallets and create a dangerous zone for complete the gen, everything will be ruined.
They don't need buffs or base kits, they need to learn how to play properly. Without it, nothing will change.
-
As far as I know, there seem to be areas where suicide and DC are more common and areas where it isn't. Although there is not a day that goes by that we do not see suicide or DC in Asia, the incidence seems to be much lower internationally. Therefore, in Asia, suicide and DC are less likely to disrupt a survivor's successful experience. Perhaps that alone would change the situation, but I can't bear to see survivors themselves go out of their way to put survivors at a disadvantage.
The fact that there are no other decent survivors besides Otz makes him a pitiful figure. His match is messed up because the Survivors are bad.
-
The doctor isn't breathing in Top MMR, right? It's like he was "doctor stopped" before the fight even started. Survivors usually don't lose unless they're up against a world-class doctor.

Because if the Killer commits to a tunnel early-on, that means the Survivors have no macro options.
They have to stick to whatever gen they can find because there's nothing they can do to help that player besides try to slam gens. Even with that though, it's likely only one or two gens will pop due to perks like Deadlock, Corrupt, PR and PGTW; among others.
This often results in gens being in very unsafe areas and usually grouped together, making the rest of the game trivially easy for the Killer.
How close were you to completing the gen during the first chase? Who worked hard to complete the gen while one survivor hooked? Your HUD probably shows little progress. Because if you are a decent survivor, no matter how bad the result is, if your skill issue is not bad, you will be able to complete 2-3 gens. Your story is far from my actual experience of the match. When such an outcome occurs, it is usually because one of the survivors has made a huge lapse, or the killer is simply much better than us. I think you just don't realize it.

That's not how tunneling works.
It takes FAR more skill to counter a tunnel than it does to execute a successful tunnel.
What I'm saying is that even if one survivor enters the tunnel, it's impossible for him not to complete even one generation satisfactorily before he dies. That is an insult to the victims, and is tantamount to saying that the contributions they made during their lifetime were meaningless.
And it was everyone's incompetence that took the pressure off the killer and made him have no hesitation in digging the tunnel. This is because all the survivors promised that no matter how many tunnels they dug, they would never complete gen for even one car. You guys should think a little bit about how your actions are helping the killer's tunneling activities.
-
This is proof that sweaty killer are much fairer and better. When they tunnel, they only do it because it's necessary, so it's not discriminatory.
-
The opposite is also true. Therefore, since it's just a game of luck, shouldn't we just enjoy it as such? After all, this is a game.

I don't know whether to agree or disagree with this one. I've had a blast playing as the Skull Merchant and won many games as her. As I'm not great with killers, I'm inclined to agree.
On the flip side, however, I've never had a difficult time against her as a Survivor. She has been one of the easier killers for me to go against.
Of course. Because you understand very well what kind of killer SM is and what it wants to do. It's as simple as having the knowledge and being able to do the right thing, but it seems that many survivors, unlike you, are unable to do that.
They then shift the blame for problems caused by lack of knowledge and skills onto the killer. Because it's much easier to do that than to develop the knowledge and skills to do the right thing.
-
If you are 5gen tunneled by a low-skilled killer, it means the survivor is equally low-skilled. Everyone wasted time with the first survivor being chased by the killer, and while he was on-hooked, others were doing useless things and preventing from completing the gen.
Due to his incompetent companions, he was made easy for the killer to dig a tunnel and easily died. It was his comrade's fault, and they indirectly killed him.
-
Is Adrenaline a problematic perk? If you're wondering, it seems like SWF can be used to the fullest. Well, personally, I don't care.
Also, the inability to use OTR is due to the rescuer's incompetence, so those who were undone should complain to the survivor who unhook you about his poor performance.

Something I see often on either side is Survivors unhooking before the killer has had any real time to leave.
I've regularly seen multiple survivors come off gens and start sprinting towards hook to make a fast save, and wondered why on earth they freely invite tunneling... just waiting 20s so the killer has to decide whether to commit somewhere makes a big difference. I even have builds that benefit unhooking that I've had to stop using, because getting a survivor to stick a gen is really hard.
I saw a game against a Spirit yesterday, where she very quickly ran back to hook after gunning down Maria early... made it really clear she was tunneling. Survivors instead of leaving her on hook a while, the safest place she could be, unhooked her in 10 seconds... She was dead in maybe 100s from the start of the match... we still squeeked out an escape, I got out alive mostly cause I ran object of obsession and resilience and I think she took her foot off the gas thinking she had the game in the bag while I cranked gens.
I avoid taking an exhaustion perk cause I'm trying to get better in chase without one. To my frustration, one of my most successful builds is Deja Vu, Stake Out, Fast Track, Off the Record, simply because Survivors are so unhook happy, and I'm the only one who sticks gens for a few seconds just to see what the killer is doing. Doing this I can usually get all my stacks. I take OTR in case I get tunneled to try and discourage it, and give myself a better chance of building up/using my stacks.
Point is, tunneling is effective yes... but there are a good number of survivors who make it frustratingly easy to tunnel.
It's a common but terrible story.
I've been on this forum for a while, and I'm amazed at how many players are unaware of these theories. I'm sure there are some explanatory videos for beginners on YouTube, etc., but aren't they shared at all?

But what I see is they will do the gen that is the farthest from the rest as the first gen, so all you do is effectively reduce the killers patrol route significantly so they have immense pressure for the rest of the match.
Leaving that most remote gen can be a win condition late match and I will stand by that being far more valuable than creating a dead area for the killer. These occur naturally throughout the progress of the match imo
Edit: another mistake I see a lot is survivors all doing gens on one side of the map, pretty much ensuring the match is a losing game long term.
Well, its importance depends on which map. The two gens far from the main building of the groaning storehouse are clearly something that can be left behind.
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
I only really play solo and one thing I notice that probably 90% of solo players do is they immediately do the safest gens on the map first.
PSA is that if you don't break any potential 3 gen and remove the unsafe gens ASAP you likely wont get out either. Please consider the macro not the selfish micro aspect of matches!
That is all, have a nice day.
Yes, it's true. Survivors who do not understand this cannot be called sane.
However, recently the theory has changed a bit, and the trend has become that it doesn't really matter where the first 1gen is completed. By creating a zone where the killer is not worth visiting, survivors in a pinch can take refuge there. The worst thing is in a gen where there is only one pallet loop nearby, the survivor will use the quick attack pallet just because the killer has arrived. This prevents anyone from completing the gen safely. Survivors with SB can barely follow.

You don't know if the killer is going to tunnel until someone goes for the save. Then it happens and you have 2 survivors involved in that situation while the other 2 survivors don't figure out the situation until its already in the killer's favor. You can only deal with this to an extent in a coordinated SWF group. If your solo que, this situation always ends in the killer's favor. Most survivors are altruistic and want to try and save their team, even when the killer is playing in the most toxic ways. In fact they often seem more motivated to do it because they hate what the killer is doing.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3684214#Comment_3684214
This often happens at the start of a match. They don't care if survivors are doing gens fast or not. They're going to do it regardless if they choose to do so.
No matter what the reason, a truly altruistic and decent survivor would definitely not allow one person to be sacrificed as a 5gen. This is because they is always in charge of completing the gen so that the efforts of those chased and hooked are not wasted.
And if we create a gen completion zone, we know that unhooked survivors can escape there and be deterred from pursuing the killer. Chasing there will leave the gens in other places weak and the survivors will be able to do whatever they want. The biggest problem is that the vast majority of survivors do not understand this.
-
The dead zone isn't really a big deal since no sane survivor would choose it as a chase location. The palette added to view Images is also quite useful, so it feels appropriate to increase it slightly and nerf the windows of houses instead.
-
She would change a lot just by bringing back the feature where the tape would break when the Survivor holding the tape gets hit. Currently, Sadako is a half-M1 killer who only makes the survivors have the opening tape, makes them turn off the TV, and sometimes forces them to return the tape.
-
In the chat after a match, the opponent's abusive words are translated as "I was completely defeated by you." So it's like I'm being praised.
Cheetahs are far more vicious than anything else these days. They are the worst salty.
-
Sure, this is strange, they shouldn't be able to hear the sounds of therapeutic work, right? If so, it's just a bug and needs to be addressed. The guard's activity algorithm has deteriorated at some point, but it can also work in the opposite direction. Probably something like that.
-
It's certainly a pain, but I don't want the FTP buckle to change. In return, it doesn't complain about slugs, tunnels, or camping. So everything is okay. Let's give our all to each other.
Every survivor and killer, before you start chanting hate, take action. Yes, it's not fair unless it's "mutual".
-
So, with the current perks, tunneling has been greatly suppressed, and does that mean that there are no survivors who play multiple games based on the common sense that if they dig a tunnel, they will complete 5 gen? They understand that it is a skill issue.
-
Aim assist should be removed as the negative effects of aim dressing are too strong. Even if it's a CS plat form. a killer player who can do it properly will do it properly.

I don't think removing traps is a reason for this.
And i even agree to remove ability to trap hook in 10 meters if she will get some serious buffs on other hand.
There is a big difference between not being able to erase it without activating a trap and being able to erase it without activating it, and what's more, she won't be notified. This changed her rating from Low Value to No Value.
Survivors feel less pressure from rescue operations and sometimes stalk hugs.
-
A killer player with map knowledge will decide whether M1 or M2 is more appropriate when playing Billy. In other words, many billys are either Survivor mains who don't usually play killers or are just beginners.
-
Honestly, that buff has its merits and demerits, and Hag's downfall in the first place was because the traps could now be erased by the survivor at will, so unless something is done to change that, she will remain the same as she was before.
And by the uninformed, Hag has been made into a poster child for camping and tunnel loving killers. As long as these beginners make up the majority of the playing population, it is best not to expect significant buffs from dev.

Distortion needs change heavily, it highly promotes either playing a killer that doesn't need slowdown and spamming aura reading perks to overwhelm it or just using gen regression/chase perks because aura reading is extremely inconsistent and low value when you consider game sense does a lot of what aura reading does.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3662904#Comment_3662904
Honestly having a perk that hides auras on surv side that you literally have to do nothing to get work (literally like mft)(not even the fact that distortion literally tells you what aura perks the killer has which is a large part of the game) and effectively disables an entire category of perks (minus ult wep), this causes people to not want to run them (because their value is inconsistent) and leads them to run the only consistent category of perks (gen slowdown). Which playing surv and your gen getting pain res into pop into pain res into pop, just feels awful as you feel as if you are doing nothing over the entire course of the game.
The entire games balance is around killer perks being significantly stronger then surv perks, unless the surv perk has some obscene setup or tight activation window (think mettle of man or unbreakable or potential energy). Distortion being 1 perk able to counter up to 2 perks on the killers side fully, give you info on the exact perks the killer is running, let you stealth unhooks/gens whilst also hiding scratch marks on proc for 10 secs, whilst having 3 charges that are refundable.
Honestly distortion should just be funny reworked into something new or significantly reworked it is unreal levels of overtuned (especially compared to the release version which was significantly more balanced but also released in a time where slowdown was not overly prevalent and aura reading was). Maybe just give it 1 token at a time that refreshes in chase or on unhooking another surv, make it able to counter an aura reading perk and make the way to get more tokens require putting yourself in danger.
Survivors will be notified when their aura is seen, so survivors can pretty much guess what the Killer's perk is trying to do. It's a simple skill issue.
And the reason why killer perk is stronger than survivor is because there is a coefficient of number of people. When a killer and a survivor are in a chase, only one survivor is in a pinch, but the killer's pinch is all the remaining gens handled by the survivor. Therefore, there is a slight bias in strength.

Yeah, Killers love to defend tunneling, we all know it's miserable for Survivors, but what people don't talk about is that it's actually detrimental for Killers as well.
Why? Because those Killers aren't upping their skills, and then they face the higher MMR Survivors with higher skill, and tunneling will no longer work, but the Killer won't know how to do anything else.
It also screws up their stats so that the devs won't help the Killers that actually need the help. They'll look at the stats of any weak M1 Killer, see the number of kills they have (that they only obtained via tunneling), and decide, "Oh, that Killer has enough kills; they don't need any buffs."
So these are additional reasons why tunneling needs to be scrapped. I may have an idea that I'll post in a new thread...
Even though Tunnel Killer can't win when encountering a high MMR survivor, does the kill rate still increase? I can't really see what you're saying. You just list what you want to say, but there is no correlation between them and it is illogical.
