I had somewhat fun with the exposed pink addon :) Survivors defo did not see that one coming. And they kept repelling the swarm aswell. Hilarious stuff. I don't think they realized what made them exposed :D But yeh I don't see myself playing with it that much. Was just trying it out.
The yellow addon to lower CD is a must imo though! You want those crows back fast if you are chasing a W-survivor, that keeps running to another loop on every crow. Some maps are so dense that they can do that. Personally I will always combo this one with another.

The devs didn't even intentionally plan for Artist to be able to truly snipe people on gens, did they? Hit them with swarms from afar, maybe, for the purpose of revealing Survivors... but not set up a swarm into damage chain, right?
She can only Snipe like that when people are stupid enough to not repel the swarm :) If people are stubborn and want to stick on their gen with a swarm, they deserve to get downed or lost a health state :)

Why would you hold W against a ranged character.....bruh she will just shoot you through a wall....
She can only do that if you don't repell the swarm. So yes holding W is like the bane of the artists existence.
That said, I don't think she is S tier. More like A tier. She is good, but nowhere near in the same park as nurse. I already had bully SWF destroy me so...

Can we please revert Spirit nerfs so I can go against a different killer?
I swear to god this game has no more than 5 killers because I have been playing for a weak and I can count in 1 hand the number of killers I go against.
Please buff low tier killers.
Give legion a mori on first hook.
I don't know.
If you want to play against more than the top 5 killers... You do realize you survivors have to stop complaining about everything then right? :) As long as survivors keep being catered to, you will see less and less killer population over time. And within that small population, most killers want to be able to get at least 1 kill :) Ofc they will grab one of the better killers then.
The main problem is MMR. Before MMR you would go up against any random killer all the time... Now... if you do well...
BHVR: "FU you don't get to have any fun, here are 10 nurse games in a row! *evil laugh* "

I repeat, statistically, nurse has the lowest kill rate of every single killer. Hell, even Nea has a higher kill rate.
Yeh, darn Nea almost killed me earlier with her clicky clicky. But then I realized she just wanted attention, so I gave it to her. RIP clicky clicky

Just everything what is wrong with this Forum:
Killer player plays ONE (in numbers: 1) game with a Killer they are learning, loses this game and rushes to the Forums to complain.
But said Killer player does not arrive at the Forums when they stomp a few Survivors, because this is how it should be. But losing is a nono.
What about someone who played a lot of PTB, will you listen to those? Or will your argument still stand then? :) Cause I am saying the exact same thing. She is a lot like clown in regards of countering her. Pre-drop pallets where needed and just hold W.

I also 4K all the time with a unique build on him.
That is the biggest troll bait I have ever seen. Nowhere near realistic. Just the other day I looped a clown from start to finish, 5 gens long on farm. He ended that match with 0k. I promiss you if you are consistently getting 4k, you are NOT at high MMR, BUT you will soon be there for real. And when you are... You will be crying with the rest of the killers :)

Tried her on release date. Brutally crushed, total gen rush and flashlight clicking. Still didn't understand how to use her power. Need more practice and muscle memory.
Even didn't understood why survivors was so greedy. Clearly gens done, no hooks, no one in danger, yet they just rush, abuse and flee.
About SWF.
Maybe we need "The weak link update" limiting SWF to 2-3 players, so there is always one random dude?
Limiting the number per group would be kinda silly. My suggestion would be the one from the joke 7.0 patch. As in per member in the same group gen repairs will go xx% slower. So if duo maybe 10%, trio 15% and quad 20%.
OR... At least compensate the killer for playing a match against bullies. xx% BP bonus against SWF. That would maybe somewhat make it worth it. Not for me personally though. But it might pull others over the line to stop dodging lobbies :)

Why is he going against a high level squad with a brand new killer he has 3 matches on?
Because MMR does not work? It never has. I'm getting SWF after SWF on artist and I only played like 5-10 matches on her. Instant Queues too, so it is not like 'it couldn't find me a squad withing my MMR range'. And most those matches I get 0-2K max. So my MMR is not going up either.
PS: I know it is sad that I have to mention this, but every single time I get the argument "not everyone is a SWF". Yes they are, most of them are. I am checking profiles, I am not stupid ;)
-
@Phasmamain said:
You said you were learning her. Of course you’re not going to win against a high level squad in that case
It is SO easy to dodge artist though, this is not a matter of learning. You get slowed down massively every time you want to place a crow. Survivors who are not braindead just move to the next loop and repeat the process. Holding W is the counter. Her crows are good for info, but other than that, they are very unreliable and only slow you down from their W.
-
I think I played against the same SWF you did. 12y old kids I'm sure. 0 self-awareness :) It is the same people that will say that it is skill to use the E-button or a stun perk, it is hilarious. The fact is, if a team wants to be toxic bullies, they can be, with ease as the game completely caters towards it.
Killers indeed need some kind of compensation, cause I don't see why I should stop dodging lobbies right now.

I wonder what they did with Deathsligner feedback from PTB...
I'm sure they will talk their way out of that by saying "Not all deathslinger feedback was negative"... Oh wait they already kinda did say that. That is how they justify their pure negligence.
They need to start listening to top streamers as they know their game better than BHVR does themselves. And by a long stretch at that too! Otzdarva, Tru3talent, coconut, Dowsey, just to name a few. While Tru3talent is one of the more negative Nancys among those, that much is true, but 90% of what he says is based on facts. And the vast majority of killers feels exactly the same. As in it is simply no fun to play killer anymore, has not been for a long time now.
PS: Mandy, I have played both sides equally since 2016 release. So don't give people like us BS that we only 'see one side'.
-
I feel ya. Yes gen speeds are fast on their own. But the amount of hackers among survivors is just too crazy right now... And the game is about to go free tomorrow on Epic Games... Expect a spike in even more hackers.
Just had a game where 1 person was dead. 1 person on hook. 1 person in chase. So while I am chasing this person, the hook gets saved. almost INSTANTLY after that on the other side of the map the gen pops. Impossible unless he teleported.
I now have another person hooked. So 5gens done. I see 2 ppl on the other side of the map with BBQ. I go for one with a semi proxy camp and I chase him back to the hook... where I see the hook getting saved and the gate is alrdy 99... everyone gets out... Impossible with the time they had.
Some hackers really think people are stupid. That was not even subtle...
Sorry just needed to vent as end game chat was full of denial as usual.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/297541/why-is-bhvr-farming-negative-reputation
A few things:
- I don't think I've ever seen a forum/feedback channel for a game that hasn't been predominantly negative. That's the nature of the beast. Very few people take the time to drop by and leave an 'I like this' comment, because they are generally too busy enjoying the game.
- I certainly have my gripes with the game (too many weak killers, too many killers with boring/useless addons, some survivor perks are utterly busted, maps) but it's better than it was a year ago and I'm guessing it'll be better next year too.
- 'Controversial' doesn't always mean 'bad' or 'unnecessary'.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2670578#Comment_2670578
Tricky.
You can't just take feedback from veterans, because what they want for the game (say: going back to ranks) may well make the experience substantially less pleasant for newer or more intermediate players and strangle your game's growth.
Similarly, you can't just balance around the experience of newer players (see: Wraith and Cenobite nerfs) because that results in things being squiffy for the veterans.
It's a balancing act.
Who care about people that don't stick around (most of the time)? Oh wait... BHVR does. Cause veterans already bought all the cosmetics etc.
The balancing act you are talking about is very VERY heavily in favor of one side right now. hence the queue time is so long on that end.
The game also does not need any more growth, it is a 6y old game. The game needs Stability! If new players don't want to learn, then why should veterans suffer for it?
-
@Mandy said:
You also have to consider that we take feedback from many areas, not just forums. And feedback in general is very varied - whilst some players are unhappy about something, others are happy with it. It's just that the negatives often shout louder than the positives, which happens in all parts of feedback.
We make regular reports with regards to feedback that we receive and a lot of this is acted upon. The issues with The Artist in the PTB for example, with the changes made before she was released to the Live build.
The problem is you take feedback from people that have no idea. People with 10 hours. Hire some actual gamers. HECK you don't even have to waste money on hiring. Listen to the top streamers, they are TRYING to help you. Anyone with over a few thousands of hours played... has a MUCH better idea than any of the other whiny people here. The fact that the vast majority of people were sad about the 7.0 patch being a joke... is a VERY GOOD direction to take feedback from.

If that were true, then why are they actively trying to kill their game by displeasing their playerbase? Seems like a very bad business plan.
Because their active playerbase is buying cosmetics and characters, even though the game is garbage. It is the case with every single game that has micro transactions of any kind. THEY keep the game alive. THEY keep the money flowing.
-
Because they only care about money. As long as people keep throwing their wallet at this garbage... Do I need to say more? Ah well, tomorrow, this game will be for free on Epic games so... Expect a ton more hackers etc. Not just that, but also more people to keep this game alive. (and throw more money at cosmetics)

I happen to get quite a lot. In fact a streamer was going off in it just last night for me.
Do you get salt often? Do you find it funny?
Anyone complaining about getting salt on their profile... It would be very VERY easy to avoid. Just don't act like a D**** . But in this community I might as well talk to a wall saying that :) I bet the vast majority of salt people get on their profile is justified. As I sometimes like to read those comments on other peoples profiles after a match, the comments almost always hold true to the way they acted during that match.
Like if you are going to act like a D**** and play Bubba in a facecamp way. You get 1 kill and everyone including yourself has no points, nor had any fun... Are you then surprised your profile is full of "-rep toxic camper"? Cause I think I speak for the vast majority of killers when I say I rather get 0 kills then not play the game personally.
All that said, I think in my 2k hours I only had to post a comment on other profiles twice. And that is when it was really bad. Like pure toxic behaviour kind. Like slugging 4 ppl and letting them all fully bleed out for 5mins. If its a toxic SWF I can somewhat understand, but doing this against a solo lobby... yikes mate.

I'm finding it really easy to waste her time and force m1 gameplay.
Exactly my experience with her so far, been playing a few hours. 99% of my downs are M1. Not even exagerating. Any smart survivor just moves to the next loop when you place a crow. Every time you place a crow, they gain distance.
-
I don't know how some of you are having an easy time with er. From the moment you meet a semi decent team that knows how to play against her, you are screwed. By the time you place your power and are allowed to trigger it, the survivor is already in another loop. It takes way too long from placement to trigger. And if you prep a shack or gym... same thing, why would a survivor stick around, long gone to another loop. Most of my downs are with M1. Any downs with crows is because the survivor has obviously not even watched a vid on this killer. Give it a few days and every survivor will wreck this killer.
Also SO many bugged locations where you cannot place her power. It is infuriating.
-
@DBD78 said:
They need four times as many survivors, so they choose to have survivors in the power role. But I as survivor wants killers to be much stronger, so you could fear them in some way. As solo survivor I want to escape 10% of the games not 70. Escaping should be something amazing and almost rare.
Be careful there, you might trigger a whole lot of survivors who want an easy game.
-
I thought I'd do adapt as I'm prestiging her up, and... I have not seen the aura of a broken totem a single time.... NOT ONCE. Utterly useless :D
-
She is defo not as OP as people thought she would be. The crows only last a few secs on aura now after nerf, not for as long as you have them on you.
And from the few matches I have played, unless you have Cooldown reduction addons, someone can remove crows before you can fire another one of, which is kinda silly :) So it only works if people don't remove the swarm.
From the rest of my matches I see a lot of people that played PTB or watched a lot of vids, cause smart survivors just hold W, and it is horrible :) especially since I had lerys TWICE in a row as my first matches
Already had my first toxic SWF experience aswell, not sure why I get a 4man toxic bully squad when my artist mmr should still be bottom. Trash talk and everything even though they had 4 escapees. I'll never understand.

Bruv. If you dont have friends and need to solo q. Thats different issue. Just go make some friends to not solo q 4head.
A totem counter would be unbalanced. "But swf has that information readily available" so go make friends. "Why do solo q have to bring perks for that info" because you dont have friends. "I have friends" okay. Ask them to play with you. "They hate this game" go make more friends then. /S
REALLY THO. a totem counter would just be way more unbalanced. It would counter hex perks even more. Which in return killers will have very little good slow down perks. Which means gens will get slammed even harder. Which also buffs the hold w and predrop pallet meta. With that being said, if survivors get a totem counter? Can killers also get said totem counter? Esp with hex: permento coming out?
The only perk that should really be baseline is kindred.
Please do not encourage people to play in SWF. Some people actually play solo because it is respectful and the right thing to do towards killers. Unless you want boring games where you stomp all over the killer?

So what you're saying is that solo q needs to use perks and items to counter noed, while swf gets it for free.
It was the same thing when people complained about spirit and people just said "bring iron will".
You do know you don't need perks to cleanse totems right? ... RIGHT? The man just gave tips on how to make it easier.

@Raccoon said:
As it's becoming a hot topic again, it'll be nice to see how people feel.
My answer - Not at all.
As a solo main. No problem. Just do totems. Killers resort to this perk cause people keep rushing gens. Stop rushing gens. Instead do 1 gen and do 1 totem along the way. If everyone does this... The problem is almost already solved before it starts.
-
Again more matches today which are proof of the horrible MMR system that is currently in place.
Survivors literally letting people die on the floor. The very last match I did I even slugged people as a way of telling them I'm just here for a challange. They LITERALLY let them bleed out on the floor while I was on the other side of the map. the complete bleedout timer. I hate to be the survivor who died on the floor there, they probably hate me, but they should hate their random teammates a lot more...
ZERO effort goes into solo survivors these days. If it does not go their way, might aswell DC or go afk and wait for hatch!
MMR = NO GOOD = awfull behaviour in solo Queues = They just wait for last survivor for hatch. I see it way too often since MMR, it is not a coincidence anymore...
PS: Justice was to be had in that last match tho. I found the useless Jane and let her feel what she did to her teammates... I ler her die from end game timer.

Nearly everything you said is incorrect.
It would take every PC user using stretched res to equal half of the entire playerbase using stretched res. And not even the entire comp community uses stretched res. The community associated with stretched res is closer to the 50% mark than the entire playerbase.
That's not at all how stretched res works on Nurse or Blight. It does not delete the downside of fatigue. You still look down. Stretched res on killer brightens the game a bit and makes it easier to see at a distance as well as over some tiles. Same as survivor.
It's not a 200% fov increase in any event. I'd equate it more to 10%. Sometimes that 10% is everything, but it's not the reason killers lose half the time.
I played against a streaming Stretch nurse yesterday and he had almost ZERO blacked out screen during fatigues due to that stretch. I know when I play Nurse versus that boon totem, I sometimes lose ppl because of the blackout during fatigue. So that is surely something to add to your list there. That is cheating massively.
-
I take back my words as I just played against a stretch screen nurse. I watched his stream and it is even more disgusting than I thought it was... HOLY MOLY WHAT THE HELL IS THAT...
So I officially take back my words and will now say "ALL stretch screen users are losers and cheaters".
Sadly by posts like this, more people will become aware of this massive advantage and try it out themselves... RIP honest&fair games. As far as I am concerned, they can ban this #########. But I am pretty sure there is no way to detect a custom resolution.

I'm not worried about it, but it pisses me off. I had to take of Shadowborn so I could have better build variety, so how is it fair that PC players can just get it for free? You shouldn't be able to have 5 perks because of the platform you're on.
I refuse to use stretch res, so please don't generalize towards "all pc players". Some PC players still have dignity and respect for the way the game was intended to be played. It is a handfull of kids that do it, and they can ruin a killers game if that killer does not notice it fast enough. As in Chases take way too long.
I usually detach fast when I notice them looping perfectly around high walls, it is just too obvious. But when they are in SWF, it is usually already too late. you lost valuable time there and 3 gens will pop. Then you have to hope the next guy you find does not have it, otherwise game over.
-
They changed all hit detection in favor of survivor. So what they see is what happens. What killers see does not matter. If killer gets a hit, but survivor does not see it, it gets taken away. Usually high ping survivors take advantage of this. They are so hard to hit.
-
I'm not so much worried that for example nurses are using stretch res. it is beneficial sure, but not by a crazy amount. Compared to a lot of survivors using it when you are playing killer is absolutely horrible. There are plenty of loops with high walls and it is so obvious when someone is using stretch res. As they perfectly loop you 10x around the same wall, cause they know perfectly where you are at all times. This is not intended gameplay and shame on you for anyone using the excuse of "it looks better".
-
What I usually do is just run to him and suicide. Only if he is an obvious straight up face camper though ofcourse. Not saying he can't do that, its his right. But I don't play this game for BP or wins, I attempt to play for fun. And games that force me to hold m1 for 3-4mins and escape are not fun. I rather suicide in 1min so I can move on to the next match faster. Hopefully a more active match.
The reason this remains to be a popular tactic for many killers, is simply the unbalance. Many killers feel it is the only thing they can do. As long as the devs keep catering towards survivors... Camping and tunneling will remain a thing. There is no way around it.
-

Ok... But with that argument you have to nerf nurse too... She can literally blink on top of ppl. At least artist still has to go around objects and pallets and catch up to you. Again... Nurse just blinks on you. It is beyond me how someone has not brought this comparison to the argument yet.

@Blueberry said:
It isn't necessarily the actions themselves that get to you as much as it is the fact that they're able to do them and get away with it because the games imbalance allows them to.
In another game that is a shooting game for example. A guy tbags you but you're able to get him back for it if you're skilled enough. IE you have a problem but there's something you can do about it.
In DBD they can tbag you, but bar some exceptions you can be much more skilled then them and still not be able to get him back for it because of the games poor balance. IE you have a problem but there's nothing you can do about it.
The real thing getting to you as a killer here isn't the action, but the helplessness to do anything about it.
I think this is the best way one can put it. The action itself is meaningless. But for me also it is the fact that the 4man SWF Thinks they are a god or something similar, when all they did is just abuse all the game mechanics that has been thrown into their lap on survivors side. It's like making 2 people fight, but one has a gun and the other a knife. The guy with the knife gets shot, and then the shooter acts like "YEEEEEEH I OWNED THAT GUY"... THAT is what I hate the most about those people. The complete self-unawareness.
Whenever I play solo survivor and the killer has no chance to get kills, cause everyone is using their meta perks to max efficiency, I feel so bad for that killer, cause I know exactly what is happening. It is not because me or the others are playing good or pro, it is because we are abusing all the advantages we have as a survivor team.

On topic though. Sure boons are strong when applied properly. But my main issue with it is that it can be re-booned infinetely. The perk itself can stay, but once snuffed... you should find another totem to bless. and thus up to 5x max.

D tier is generous. That would make her F tier.
It would barely change anything to 'er, other than the fact that you have to be in view to be blinked at. F tier would be a gross exageration as she can still bypass all the things that B-C-D-F tier killers cannot.

Typically people react differently when they think they are doing something bad not of their own volition vs. performing it of their own volition. And generally speaking creating a public "rules-list" will just give griefers a playbook to try and copy.
I'm sorry dude, but that is not enough for me. If their team would literally decide your fate based on that... thousands of innocents would get banned.
Take me as an example. When I notice a cheater, I just want to get out of that match asap, without getting a DC penalty. So I was just downed, and get insta healed... F me... I'm just gonna go finish the gens so I can open the gate and get out. There is no way of telling that I was healing myself or being healed by a hacker. non, nada, rien.

Innocent people do not get banned.
Our Team of ACM's are very well versed in how to deal with hacks/cheats and what to look for.
Ok, with all due respect, I refuse to believe that "your team" can see who is remote insta-healing other persons, from a video from the killers perspective. You are not talking to a random Joe here. I can recognize hacks instantly, even the subtle ones after thousands of hours of game time. But there is absolutely 0% chance to identify the actual hacker if he is only doing said stuff.
Only when he is hooking himself and speed hacking can you tell, sure that's the guy. But not with remote insta-heals. Unless you tell me right now, that people are NOT getting banned solely on the fact of insta-heals, only then will I feel at ease. I can tell you I had games like that before, only insta-heals. And the killer reported every single survivor with video evidence. (allegedly)

The issue is most players either dont have access or dont video record thier games anyway because they are bot expecting to face a hacker. I am lucky enough to have Xbox Dashboard on my PC that has a recorder on it
Do you understand what we are saying? Even with video evidence it is impossible to tell who the hacker is. Random people are getting insta-healing from range, without being touched by hackers. As in the person who is NOT cheating is getting insta healed from the other side of the map, by the hacker. How is video evidence going to proof who is the hacker? This will get innocent people banned.
the ISSUE is the awful anti cheat software. Just updating it obviously does not help as one day later the cheats are updated too.

Meanwhile when I try to camp at high MMR, the SWF will just pop 5 gens before the guy hits 2nd stage hook. Then rescue him and make a bodyblock train to the exit gate. GG.

Something like... Let her blink over dropped pallets and window vaults, but not through walls. Would be a proper nerf.
I mean... I played er for one day and I already made people DC/Suicide left and right. Anyone that says she is hard to play is full of it. You literally blink on top of them and adjust with a follow-up blink if that was not enough.

First of all, nobody is banned on reports alone, evidence is always required. If you were not actively taking part in the cheating in the game - you have nothing to worry about. Video evidence is required in cases like this and that would show the actual situation. Our team of ACM's knows exactly what to look out for, and are used to dealing with things like this.
Our Easy Anti Cheat is also constantly being updated to remove cheats like this and people are banned (contrary to popular belief), it's unfortunately a never ending circle however, because people constantly update their cheats and bypass the system, then the EAC is updated again for that, and then over and over.
EAC is constantly being updated? Then why were hackers still doing this days ago to me aswell? :) They kept insta healing me without even touching me. Ofcourse the killer is going to report me too, I don't blame him as it looks like I was hacking. But How do you determine from video evidence if I were cheating or not? you can't. With the amount of hackers lately, It is already in the back of my mind that it is only a matter of time that I will get banned for someone elses doing.
