  • It would be way too OP. Honestly they should just add a few more tokens and that would be fine.

    Interesting proposal.

I’m down for almost anything, atm

Anymore, I wish we could go back and play this game in the earlier stages of its release.

    EDIT:

    down for “ALMOST” anything

DUDE you do NOT want that LOL. If you think this game was any better for killers in 2016 I have some bad news for you lol.

What’s balanced about this bug exactly? It’s only been in the game for oh, 2 months at least. Making this permanent doesn’t bring it down to solo. It already hurts solo. SWF it doesn’t matter, especially if you’re on comms. and if you’re not sure how it hurts solo, think real hard, you’ll get it

It hurts SWF way more than solo because you can't tell your buddies when to save you unless the killer happens to chase another one of your buddies. Solo doesn't have anyone to tell that info. The only downside for solo is that you might not be sure what to do after getting unhooked unless you have eyes on the killer. If the terror radius resumed at the moment another survivor started to unhook you, the disorientation could be decreased enough that you could have a rough idea of the killer's proximity.

I honestly wouldn't mind it as survivor.

  • @Kind_Lemon said:

But...it's not the killer's heartbeat. It's your own due to you sensing the killer's proximity. Your logic inherently falls apart because any mortally injured person often hears his/her own heartbeat exceedingly clearly.

It's a feature that survivors can't hear the terror radius when being carried, but it was never announced to be a "feature" for not hearing the heartbeat radius on the hook.

Immersion is not the point of this proposed change; it's balance. Therefore, there is no logic to this change other than that. The immersive elements are just a bonus. Are you sure you read my post? The whole point was to nerf the awareness of the survivor on the hook.

  • I'm okay with new thanatophobia becoming a perk that forces survivors to heal, but the amount of stall that was lost is not enough to make up for the amount that we gain with this change (almost nothing). They seriously need to buff it to 8% for it to be worth using if they want to go with the no heal meta counter.

  • I just wish they'd get rid of the basic attack requirement. A lot of killers could make great use of it that can't, while we have strong killers like nurse, hag, and Spirit that can make perfect use of it. The devs claim to put the basic attack requirement a perk to prevent them from becoming OP. I will keep laughing my ass off at that statement while these killers can still make use of those perks.

I think that's intended. I really like it Chases feeling more intense. And it makes sense, that you see something like that, while in a bloodrush :D

The fact that it obscures 50% of your screen depending on what map you're on is not okay

  • Using his power is a great way to lose track of a survivor.

  • It actually makes me nauseous trying to play as him, what with the low camera angle and fast uncontrollable movement that forces you into the scenery... It's not fun. Nurse is way more bearable than this.

Also I'm still salty that his power thematically makes no sense.

  • DAVID 😍

It's probably gonna be Felix next depending on the cosmetics that come out for him.

Perhaps you did not read the first sentence of my comment. So you encounter it once a week and each time it is a swf task force that completely ruins your experience? Sorry, I don't believe you.

Apparently I'm not clear enough for you. I said about once a week I come across a sweat squad with OoO, not just the perk OoO. Its a really big difference and you can tell if its a 4 man running it or just solo. Solo is not that bad, but it's still really strong, especially if you're playing the wrong killer on the wrong map. Why do I have to explain this to you? You're supposed to be a rank 1 killer.

And just because you don't encounter something very often doesn't make it a non-issue. I rarely encounter iri head huntresses anymore because people know not to run it, so does that make it a non-issue? I rarely encounter hackers, are they a non-issue?

The existence and possibility of the broken thing is the issue here, how are you not getting this?

  • I use the BBQ/Pop combo on everyone...

    including Pyramid Head.

I can only speak for myself but i'm not upset about it because I rarely see it at rank 1. When I do see it, it is even more rare that the person with it is anything other than an easy kill. It barely ever gives me any problems.

So because you don't ever come across the optimal swf squads running this, it's not a problem? It doesn't completely break the game? That's awesome you somehow never have this problem, but I encounter it about once a week depending on how often I play. Also just wait until they finally fix MMR and killer games actually get sweaty. You'll probably see it a lot more of it then.

    @lucid4444

I'll just give you one example. I came across a LoL player with 5000 games. He was Bronze 4, which at the time was only one rank above the very bottom. This guy has no business being put in matches any higher than Bronze 4 despite having multiple thousands of hours in the game.

Yes it's only one datapoint, but it illustrates the problem. Playtime cannot be used for matchmaking. Matchmaking is never going to be exact, but playtime just doesn't indicate anything useful about a player in that regard.

Don't you think that having rank or devotion even as a baseline to start off at is better than starting everyone off at zero? Because having 4000 hr killers slaughtering baby survivors was a good idea, right? Because time played somehow doesn't translate to skill in this game where the learning curve looks like 2020's unemployment graph?

54938409350985 posts a day bitching about DS, unbreakable, BT, second chance blah blah and wonder why the devs don't listen to complaints regarding a perk that is used so infrequently and most times when it's used it's by someone who is not very good and is an easy kill.

This perk deserves to be bitched about because it's the one perk that puts SWF miles ahead of Solo. I don't understand why more people aren't upset about this. I don't give nearly as many shits about the other meta perks in the game as I do this one.

  • Here's my rework that I think is fair as both survivor and killer:

Any time that the killer sees your aura, you also see theirs for a maximum of 5 seconds. Has a cooldown of 60 seconds.

Unfortunately this is yet another counter to one of my favorite niche perks I'm All Ears, but I'm willing to live with that if it means the gruesome death of OoO.

  • @xenofon13 said:

My god, when loggin in to this forum it's all killer threads crying like babies about everything.

Nerf DS, BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard OP :) , OoO, Maps, Pallets, Gen speeds.

Yea lets ignore all of the NOED, Spirit, and Deathslinger crybaby threads as well, huh?

  • @dugman said:

Maybe hypothetically if the MMR is trying to assign an initial rating to you for a brand new killer, like say they want to guess how good you might be playing Blight when he goes live, then taking your playtime as killer or Devotion level (which is basically the same thing) could be a reasonable factor. But once you've already played a number of games it really doesn't need to see your play time at that point. Plus Devotion level isn't going to tell you too much for killers that have unique playstyles. Me being good with basic 115% melee chases doesn't help me very much when I play Nurse and tells nothing about how good my aim might be with Deathslinger or Huntress for instance.

This is the mistake they made when MMR first came out. They proclaimed that rank or playtime or whatever didn't matter when it obviously does in some form or fashion. Using something like devotion or rank as a baseline should have be a no-brainer.

  • I get way more annoyed at the ######### my teammates do than what killers do. If I get a killer that facecamps or whatever I'm more disappointed than anything.

  • Idk about best, but I think my favorite is Danny's (DBD Ghostface) he sounds like a really interesting character and I would love to know more about the silly little psychopath 😄

  • I also match charms with things that I think fit the character's personality or things that make sense as a 'keychain'. If I don't have those, I like to match colors or themes, like all the blue ones or all the coins, etc.

Another cheeky thing I like to do with the character charms for survivors... If I believe two characters would be great 'friends' I have one character wear the other's charm 😏

  • Been playing him a lot in red ranks trying to find some decent builds, but it's entirely dependent on your playstyle of Triangle Man.

Even though his power doesn't have too much synergy with the pop/bbq combo, I still use it because the combo is just too powerful, and you're still gonna be hooking quite a lot of people in the trial.

Complete build is Pop,Bbq, Corrupt, and I'm All Ears (required if you ask me).

I only cage people under these circumstances: Decisive Strike. If I have a person I can immediately start chasing. If I am aware of the other survivors location. If I don't need Pop or Bbq. If I want to create artificial map pressure by splitting the team. Overall I try to cage on second hook.

You will still get a lot of use out of Pop and Bbq and can even use Bbq to see caged survivors if you're quick at downing, which you should be as PH.

  • Considering he's struggling to get more than ten wins with killers like Pyramid Head right now, I wouldn't put too much stock in the 50 win streak. Hag and legion are particularly good in a majority of situations however.

  • Just implement bots for christ's sake and do away with the penalty if you can't figure out!

  • Check your ping before and during the game

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

The devs are scared of it breaking the stronger Killers (even though it wouldn’t). I wonder if they saw what removing the basic attack requirement from Infectious Fright did (this perk went from ok to great and even becoming meta for some Killers) and it scared them because for some reason they’re terrified of making new meta or just good Killer perks.

You mean Nurse, Spirit, and Hag? 🤔 😆

  • Ooh, that's definitely something I should test today. I hope the validation fixed grabs.

  • "I am once again, asking for you to make windstorm basekit."

  • Or we could, you know, buff the 100 or so useless perks that are already in the game?

New feature: activate-able killer perks, similar to dead hard or diversion

Beast of Prey V2 - After chasing any survivors for a total of 30 seconds, press E 'active ability' button while in a chase to become undetectable for 6 seconds.

  • I could understand giving out the pax exclusives because they required a steam code. This created a lot of grief because people were getting scammed out of a lot of money for those skins, so I support them giving those out (even if my own exclusives aren't special anymore).

Giving out items that could only be earned, like legacy and through grinding special events (like the howling grounds event) is a betrayal to those who took the time to earn them. I was not okay with the fact that they gave out those event cosmetics to everyone and I hope they never do the same with legacy.

  • Their argument that the perk could become too strong if they lift the basic attack requirement is bullshit. Know how I know? Nurse. Spirit. Hag.

Everytime I see a great perk limited by a basic attack requirement i roll my eyes so hard they get stuck in the back of my skull because these killers exist and can utilize the perk perfectly fine. But guess what? They don't run it because the perk is still way too niche and limiting, and half the time it doesn't even work. It also needs a range increase to account for the variability in map sizes.

I hate basic attack requirements too, because all it does is shut off a bunch of perks from killers who rely on their special abilities to down people while AT THE SAME TIME, the best killers in the game don't have this requirement. You know who needs a perk like surge? Pyramid Head. But I can't justify taking it because of the stupid basic attack requirement. Which ######### killer is gonna be OP now because they can utilize SURGE???

  • No they just need to hide totems better. On the ptb, it looked like they were trying to do that with the new maps. The yamoaka totems were COMPLETELY hidden.

  • Another big difference between pyramid heads ranged attack and demos shred is that pyramid heads attack actually has a significant travel time. Shred is almost instantaneous. In my opinion though adding deep wounds won't accomplish anything really. I'd rather not have another character reliant on such a bad mechanic. It could help him a little bit with game delay, but it's honestly not that hard to land and could end up being a bit too much.

I think instead they should get rid of the global teleport sound and make rat liver base kit. They also need to rework his add-ons to be more in line with plague and doctor. Almost all of his add-ons only have to do with portals and are practically useless. Also wouldn't mind if they nerfed the sound of his big interdimensional feet so that he can actually utilize undetectable or at least give it a smaller sound radius. I think they could also give him a similar add on to the one that Billy has that allows him to chainsaw straight through pallets and keep going (I was originally thinking it could be base-kit but it would probably be too powerful and would be better suited as an add-on). Another buff would be to allow him to teleport anywhere to any portal without without having to put one down first, kind of like Hag and her mint rag.

I think any kind of combination of those buffs would help Demo a lot.

  • Regarding this legal stuff, they could probably make some vague references to a secret "foundation" and create their own SCP-like monster. As long as they don't make explicit references to SCP it should avoid any copyright issues, correct?

  • I think this is just a case of you not understanding the game mechanics or you are experiencing some internet or lag issues. Hackers are extremely rare in this game. I have about 4500 hours and can count on one hand the amount of times i can certainly recall a blatant hacker in my game. Also people with bad framerates (console) can have wacky movement.

  • When there's a long wait time for survivors, i feel like matchmaking will sometimes just throw them in with whatever rank killer it can find. In the evening when wait times are longest for survs, this happens the most.

  • @Seanzu said:

Uhm - they've never stated they weren't doing them "for money", but the sets that have come out would have pretty dubious mix & matching with other outfits, the clipping and issues they would have with other outfits would be an issue, and is why they're sets.

Except many of them clearly have pieces that don't need to be linked, like Jane's new outfit. They could do sets of two but don't.

Honestly, they probably aren't making as much off of these sets because most people simply won't buy something they can't mix and match with the cosmetic pieces they already own. Most people want to be unique and show off their own style and creativity. They don't want to have a cookie-cutter outfit.

I'm sure there are plenty of people like myself who liked one or two pieces of an outfit, but didn't buy it because it was a set.

Bhvr ######### loves numbers, so when their numbers eventually show that people aren't buying these sets as much as the other cosmetics, they'll stop making them.

  • I run STBFL, Pop, BBQ, and Corrupt.

Corrupt gives me time to set some portals at the beginning. Pop/BBQ combo to know which gens to pressure after a hook. STBFL for lethality (a no brainer on him really).

Global teleport notification needs to go. Rat liver should be basekit. Rework add-ons overall.

  • I think BHVR could take a lot of inspiration from the SCP universe and create their own SCP. Their creativity and design branches usually do a pretty good job when it comes to making up characters. I think they could design something new that still pays a great amount of homage to the SCP universe.

  • It looks really 'pretty' like how the dev working on it described it in the stream on Thursday, but it is not conducive to gameplay. You can't see into the distance, you can't see scratch marks in the grass, new effects cause huge framedrops... It looks pretty, but that's about it.

  • Steam guides usually have a bunch

My favorite solo build tho is: bond, iron will, dead hard, and BT or DS depending on how I feel about my teammates lol

  • Why do you hate grammar bro? This gives me a headache trying to read this thing.

  • @dastru said:

people seem to miss the point of crossplay; its purely to reduce PC queue times, i havent noticed any major difference in my queue times so im good, that crossplay setting its staying off until we get consoles crossplay

Dude my survivor queue times are through the roof now because of crossplay. I can only imagine it's because the pool of survs is huge now thanks to killer being ass on console.

  • He's strong against casual players but he's still very vulnerable to looping and therefore is not that great at high ranks. He's about B-tier.

Just be very vigilant if you don't hear a terror radius or run spinechill.

  • His power is stupid and doesn't make any sense in the context of 'The Legion' (because its original design was something else). But the devs are dead set on keeping the power the way it is because REASONS, so just short of a rework, a bunch of quality of life improvements is all we can really hope for.

  • I really don't mind casual swf. I'm sure I get those all the time and barely notice, except for when I notice that they are slightly more coordinated or aware than they should be. Most of the time it's not a big deal.

    HOWEVER

The sweat squads who are out to specifically make your life miserable can ######### off. Get a hobby. And the tournament squads are even worse. Literally almost nothing you can do against them no matter who you play. I honestly don't understand how that's fun at all.

  • If they keep putting it on sale for like $5 or less that would probably be better. For Honor has a similar philosophy where the base game is cheap but there is a bunch of other stuff you can buy. F2P tends to invite trolls, so I'm okay with avoiding that.
