Constantly matched with the worst players ever when I play as survivor and then constantly matched with the most try hard SWF when playing as killer. IT MAKES NO SENSE. This game is gonna spiral down if they don’t fix the ranking system. And maybe add a long time out for anyone who leaves a game and a way to differentiate between disconnects and someone leaving on purpose? But no, let’s keep dishing out new content for money and instead of using that money to balance our game and implement changes that the community has asked for for years now we will just keep people coming back with new content until they realize how trash their experience is overall playing it.

Calm down bud, they're working on it.
Also, in many regions, Dedicated Servers are a mess. Like getting hit a full second or two after vaulting a window.
It just surprises me it has taken them this long, the game is going on five years!

Dedicated servers are only aviable for now on pc, and the devs said that they are testing it. I'm also a playstation player and I agree that we neeed servers. Devs public a questionary on a site (survey.com or something that dont remember) where askig important feedback from community about the game and some important topics like server, cross play and so on. I suggest you and every other player to take some minutes and do it. You can found it on the section news on the game itself, or even in this forum I think (hope somebody post the link here). It's important to say our opinion to devs, for make better the game. They request our feedback, so they listen to us.
You’re right! I almost forgot about that survey. I’ll definitely take it, appreciate the comment.
-
Like I’m discouraged to play survivor time and time again because of toxic teams and killers terrible internet connection when they’re host. Shouldn’t take this many years to get decent servers for your game across all platforms...
-
That’s beyond them right now, this game is going on five years and dedicated servers still aren’t a thing across all platforms. Considering all the money they make too, very unlikely.
-
Been trying to get back into DBD with all the new additions, but what’s the point of playing if your game is unplayable?
-
He’s really good. You have to use his ability and crouch to mindgame survivors. When stalking always try and creep up and lean from cover
-
The update fixed this. I posted this back in late June.
-
No offense, but to me it seems like you need to practice as killer. I’ve gotten 4K several among several times with Freddy in his current state and Ghost Face and Plague in purple and red ranks. All killers viable in this game, with some being better than others.
-
I pretty much own with him 9 times out of 10 lol
-
They have since fixed these issues thankfully.

Furtive Chase really only works for Freddy, but I feel that says it all for it's current state in the game.
I may have been teasing along about Dying Light. But furtive chase works well in the sense that you break chase faster so that gives you the ability to get the jump on survivors who stay hiding in one spot because they think you’ve stopped chasing them, which most survivors do.
-
Okay guys, get this, how about Rancor and Furtive???!! Now that’ll be OP. (x
-
I love to play killer because being one person able to go against 4 is a cool concept but currently the killer is limited by how good the survivors are and even more so with SWF.
The devs are scared to bring more strong killers into the game. I’m still trying to figure out the most optimal Ghostface build, but I’ll probably just go back to my Spirit so I can ruin SWF

If you kill the obsession and activate Dying Light, then the obsession switches to someone else, the Dying Light effects are reversed, which is absolute garbage but it is what it is. Using a perk that will switch the obsession means you will have a much harder time getting DL to activate. You hook the obsession, they get saved, now a new person is the obsession. You hook the new obsession, then they get saved. Now someone else is the obsession who you haven't hooked yet, so you are starting from scratch again. Do you get it?
Yeah. But when you’re damaging everyone and they’re all on their second or last hook then the chances increase there. I get it, it’s optimal to tunnel and use other obsession perks with furtive rather but it was just an idea and in typical dbd community fashion everyone is rude. Not like it matters in higher ranks anyways since all survivors are try hards with ds and adrenaline and mettle of man etc. lol
-
yeah. You guys proved that point, I really do know better lol

The entire point of running Dying Light is to tunnel the obsession to death. If you are not doing this, you are using it inefficiently. You would be better off running something like PWYF or Remember Me. There is more synergy there, although it’s not great.
No point in remember me because I hardly let survivorship get to open the gates, but that is a nice back up plan. And PWYF I’ll have to look into and test out. First game I used dying light and furtive it worked really well so.

Gotta love people who call others stupid and ignorant when that person himself is clearly clueless as all hell. Keep telling people that a perk that switches the obsession more than any other perk pairs well with a perk that becomes worthless when the obsession is switched. There's obviously no need for you to pay attention to others when you clearly know what's right.
Last person only got away at hatch because the game has been glitching like crazy lately and it didn’t register my grab on them as they jumped in.

You don't understand how either of these perks actually interact with each other. Furtive chase constantly switches the obsession to the person whose unhooking from the previously hooked obsession. Dying Light only works when the obsession is dead and if the obsession switches to a living survivor the effect stops working. Furtive Chase would not only give you a lousy effect, it would ensure you're never procing dying light. The entire point of Dying Light is to get rid of the obsession to massively cripple the team as soon as possible. You don't want another obsession target because you won't get the effect. It also doesn't stack should you kill your new obsession.
Furtive Chase as a perk is just plain bad. Shrinking your TR could be a huge boon to a stealth killer, if it were outside of chase. Shrinking inside of chase doesn't do anything except make it easier for the chases to break. The only perk that benefits from a smaller TR in chase would I'm All Ears, but that perk too is pitiful.
Lol you clearly don’t understand Furtive (x

@AStupidMonkeyy said:
You are missing the point of dying light. It's meant to kill the obsession quickly for a big reward for the rest of the game. Otherwise, you get dying light with 1 gen at 90% near end game so you can get teabagged and called a noob killer for using it. So no. It's awful.
Lmao your screen name suits you. (x but ghost face is already so good at catching people off guard and keeping the pressure on as is. It’s not about securing the gens and being a lame try hard. It’s about that cushioned bonus that you can possibly get. Any time I used dying light and would tunnel the obsession would catch on and would be super stealthy and such because they knew they were the obsession the whole time. Especially if they don’t have survivor obsession perks they’re mindful that you have one that can take effect. But when the obsession is constantly jumping around it changes that up soooooo....
-
@Tzeentchling9 said:
How would your obsession being constantly switched to a fresh target be good for Dying Light?
And then have all your Furtive Chase tokens be lose when you do trigger Dying Light?
Furtive Chase is used as back up on Ghost face specifically to his ability, hit them if not able to stalk fully or they run into you and night shroud loses its effect but then Furtive effect takes place because you’re in a chase right away.
-
Plus you won’t tunnel tf out of one person
-
@Tzeentchling9 said:

Because there’s more chances for you to get the obsession killed and for dying light to take effect...
-
i am assuming how Furtive will work on other killers, I can see it being viable, but so far I have only used it on GF so I’m not certain. But Ghostface has a normal terror radius when not in night shroud like a lot of killers, but then again GF has a terror radius off switch with his ability so that really messes the survivors up matched with Furtive.

I only like Thrilling Tremors in actual practice
Furtive Chase in theory and I'm All Ears if it worked on slow actions VS fast.
I feel that either the length the gens are blocked needs to be extended or the cool down needs to be shortened. I promise that Furtive Chase can help a ton though if you play with that perk in mind and have tokens of course. I’m all ears is really good on certain killers, it’s OP af on Nurse since she can hit someone they run away and quick vault and she can just quickly teleport to them directly seeing where they are.

Then the text is wrong.
Also weird? But again watch HybridPanda's latest video (where he plays trapper). You can exactly see how it worked
Just found out in last game that the perk works as should, passes on from survivor to survivor whoever rescues current obsession off the hook, but if the obsession is killer while the obsession then you lose all the tokens and can’t gain anymore throughout the match.
-
Still getting downvotes even though I pointed out how Furtive Chase is good. (x less terror radius while in a chase is good, this counters survivors who try to hang about and hide. The music fades faster so they get comfortable thinking you’ve gone away to chase another survivor and then bam you pop out behind a wall and surprise them. I wouldn’t be able to make as many clutch plays as I’ve been making on Ghost Face without that perk.

The perk needs a complete rework, it's horribly designed and bad for the game
- completely destroys any stealth killer powers
- if any survivor in SWF has it, all of the SWF survivors get the effect for free
- the correct counterplay is to tunnel anyone who has it but doing that will get you death threats spammed on your Steam profile if that is public, or in the postgame chat if you are smart and set it to private
Want to play stealthy? There's already lots of perks for that, Object Of Obsession isn't needed. Want to help other survivors in a chase, for example with flashlights? Run Bond / Empathy. Object Of Obsession isn't needed and not healthy for the game
It that’s the pros and cons of OoO, that’s the point haha if you risk using that perk then you should keep in mind that you’ll probably get tunneled and the killer will want you out of the game first.
-
They definitely need to fix the stare to break him out of stalk but with OoO you know where the survivor is as well so it’s pretty balanced in that respect.

I’ll check it out to see what you mean. But idk, I use Furtive and not the other perks and constantly destroy swf groups with ds and flashlights and body blocks with only three perks and no ruin on gf.

You do lose tokens when the obsession dies. And after the obsession dies you shouldn't be able to get more tokens, BUT because game mechanic/text is broken you do.
"When a Survivor rescues the Obsession from a Hook, the rescuer becomes the Obsession."
This text. For now it happens to every rescuer that rescues (see latest HybridPanda's video)
That’s the point of the perk, so you can keep gaining tokens throughout the match. What I mean is that while the person is the obsession and they died I still saw tokens on Furtive Chase instead of them disappearing and it was lit up like it’s activated if I recall correctly.
-
I really don’t see how you guys don’t realize how Furtive Chase would literally be good on every single killer even. Chase music = terror radius so that means it’s less that they hear to notify them you’re on their ass. Though other killers will benefit much more from other perks, but Ghost Face does really well with Furtive Chase because he also has his Night Shroud ability. Terror radius is at its most intense while in chase, how would that be bad if it’s lessened?

So many other perks are only viable for like one to three killers. Some are viable for all. That’s just how it goes in this game. Some perks are almost never used. Lol

So, in order to "play him right", you have to crouch around the entire game in your power, sneak everywhere and be super immersed, basically?
When you don't have the time to do that?
You do that and you will be genrushed.
No lol you make smart choices for when you should crouch or not be crouching. But you should be activating night shroud as often as you can. No need to be all immersed if you have night shroud activated, start walking towards gens, if you hear survivors moving or gen being worked on start crouching before you get too close then get jump on them... he’s pretty simple to understand. I don’t know why people are complaining about him and his perks so much. Use the terrain and hide your bloodstain... but this should be common knowledge for any killer at this point if you’re not new to the game. He’s a mindgame killer.
-
Yep. They messed it up again somehow...

There is big difference between "decreases your terror radius ONLY IN CHASE" and "decreasing your terror radius at ALL TIME". If that would give you passive decreased terror radius, it would be totaly something else. So it's pretty bad at this state.
You already have night shroud for that?! Lmao I’m coming to the conclusion that people don’t understand that GF is a mind game killer. Haha
-

As lot of people said it here with explaining, I will join as well. His perks are pretty bad.
I'm All Ears - Even if this perk would have 20 sec cooldown, it would probably still not worth picking, but it would not be that bad as it is now.
Thrilling Tremors - Interesting idea executed badly because of numbers. Cooldown too long and generator protection too short. Not worth it.
Furtive Chase - This one is probably the worst one of them all. I have just one question about this perk: WHY? Why would I ever wanted to play this?! You have to even work for this perk to earn it. Some people says it's good combo perk (for example with Make Your Choice), that's nice, but why would you wanted to play this perk when this does almost nothing in almost every single game. You can even lose this perk. Even if that perk would give me passive decreased terror radius in chase without working for it, I would not run it. It would be still bad.
How would something that decreases your terror radius, especially on a stealth killer be bad? Lol you can stalk people around loops too and build the meter and lean and crouch all while hiding your blood stain when crouching and looking away and then the chase music is phasing in and out all of that is putting pressure on that survivor and keeps them guessing and having to consider multiple things all at once. (x
