  • Well you cant derank past 15 as 20-16 you lose no pips.

Some still derank to around the greens but since it also resets every month some who haven't played for a month or two taking a break will be in your ranks.

It's harder for survivor to start with but that changes as you learn.

The best advice I can give is use this time to learn the game. Don't worry about escaping/dying and concentrate on blood points. Do totems, gens, save and heal others and just play around learning the maps. Losing chases will happen a lot but again don't worry as each one you can learn from πŸ˜‰.

  • Sorry but your post doesnt make much sense as it was never about rank 1 killers facing rank 19 survivors as that obviously will be easier for them.

The change was made as peopl3 complained a new killer and newish killer players in ranks 19-10 could face swf with rank 5-1 survivors due to people chosing to play with friends.

Right now higher ranked killers can have an easier time of it but for notlw at least it has reduced a lot of the swf are op posts.

  • The ol slight of hand technique.

Give people a good reason to look at what you want them too so you can distract them from what's actually going on πŸ˜‰.

The devs are well known for trolling the userbase and laying crumbs which lead to false hope.

  • Its not the only thing they can do but it is the most efficient strat to waste time.

Personally I find it more fun trying to lose a killer than loop de loop over and over.

  • I just dont see Pennywise as being a fit for the game. It's such an iconic look (Tim Curry version) but Pennywise is not an actual killer he is just a projection the IT uses to lure in its prey.

He plays mindgames with the kids and goes for them as their minds are more open to beleive in IT. This makes it really hard to implement their actual power as projections don't really work against survivors after a few matches and I think he would end up being a simple M1 killer and not doing IT justice.

  • Survivor I play very aware and can be really stealthy when I wish too. I always look to help others and will gladly give my life for a save at the end.

Killer I play around and have personal goals. I want as many hooks and points as possible. The end result means little to me as I want to have fun chases as I get more satisfaction from winning a mind game versus a good player than an easy down.

  • If they continue do DC they will end up with a ban so part of me hopes they do.

It's an unfortunate scenario where you can't play with or how you wish. The upcoming changes with servers should deter people from doing it as it just ruins everyone's game.

  • In once sense you are correct but that would make it an entirely different game with the same overall mechanics.

The game has always been about help other or don't as there is a need to keep others alive but you can also put yourself in more danger so its a choice. Making DBD more team orientated would not be a great idea imo as it then removes the "I want to escape" factor.

The perks you mentioned for survivor bar DS as I have never liked that perk were all introduced to lessen the way some killers chose to play, make it more engaging and well less boring much like the sabo change when hooks were perma destroyed. Certain mechanics are just not great for a game people play for fun afterall.

Now some of the survivor perks you mentioned.

Borrowed time only works if you are close enough to he hook so its to negate camping.

Unbreakable was to aid in being slugged as lets face it no one likes crawling around for minutes on end.

Adrenaline well that can only work when you have the gens done and is a one time use.

Now take your comment regarding having a bad game early on. Should someone be rewarded for this? If you played badly at the start the outcome is you will and probably should lose if the others play better and that goes for both sides.

The problem isn't inherently with perks but with the synergy of them with certain groups of players. Adrenaline for example is stronger when you can coordinate it's use and let them know how far along gens are but then you have NOED to negate any extra heal along with more speed.

The game is designed for fun and not to be taken too seriously and I do believe the matchmaking as it pits all skill levels in one large pool is a major factor as you will verse players a lot lower or higher skilled than you regardless of rank. This I believe is a factor that makes some think they should be more competative within the rank bracket they are in.

Personal knowledge and skill has a huge impact in the game and when you have 1k hours and someone has 6k hours it can make a huge difference to the outcome more so than any perks.

@twistedmonkey You and I are not going to agree on the design direction for the change they made, it's just as simple as that.

I will say this in closing, though: you are right, it is a Survivor-side choice. And moving forward, I will continue to not recommend the game to friends and family who might want to play with me. Instead, I'll continue to recommend them to Overwatch or Paladins, my other two games, where us playing together isn't such a botched design job.

I'm sorry you feel that way and I hope you enjoy the game yourself and the others with your friends.

We don't always have to agree with design choices but we do have to be more understanding of why they are made even if it may upset some users initially as most do when it affects them.

@twistedmonkey As I said, I'm a killer main. And seeking an averaging of the SWF for a Killer rank is not selfish. Yes, it means I went against Red Ranks, but it also meant I was going against Gray ranks in the same match.

An averaging is far more balanced than when they did Killer rank based on the SWF group former, which was gamed by having the lowest ranked friend assemble the group, or what they're doing now based on the highest rank.

Any other game would average the MMR, since rank is basically used as an MMR in this game. I've played Overwatch, Paladins, Heroes of the Storm, LoL, and DOTA, and MMR is averaged for a reason.

And notice I said MMR, which is what is used in causal modes. Because in an actual ranked mode, there is a gap-cap between ranks in a group. You could not have a low ranked friend in your group if you were high ranked.

So, we have to treat this as what would be casual modes in other games, since ultimately that's all this is.

Otherwise, Behavior needs to go all-in that this is a Ranked Competitive Game, and implement a rank range-gap between SWF members. Because as it stands, their system is trying to be a hybrid of ranked and casual in a single mode, which shows not only design shortsightedness, but also a complete lack of matchmaking and rank ladder game design understanding.

So after what you have said instead of going full blown ranked and locking people out from palying with highrr ranked friends they have left the players with the option it's just you will meet higher ranked players.

Like I said you couldn't plays with friends in a ranked mode yet casual still used mmr for average but what did you gain. Was the game a grind like this is lock out content you could only get in ranked?

Average may seem good on paper but let's be honest getting to green ranks as any side is really easy and where most new players will spend quite a few hours winning and losing and some who learn quicker will easily go onto purple.

The problem with the average then is you mix the best players with newcomers who as I said had no choice. That is a major turn off for them as they can't opt out. The current system allows players to opt out by learning the game first. They can of course play around in KYF as you can do that with a min of 2 people.

If the current game had a userbase large enough to sustain two modes I would be all for it but in reality it doesnt. These type of games don't tend do that well with player numbers as it's a niche market and DBD has been the one success story out of many.

No matter what they do it will not be the right fit for some players but making it so a group of players have a choice seems to me the better option rather. It either that or you are forcing something which is less fair upon one side.

So right now people that wish to play with friends have choices.

They can choose KYF to help them learn certain things about the game.

They can choose to play solo/with lower ranked friends for a bit to learn the game.

They can chose to play with high ranked friends but be disadvantaged.

It's all about the choices they are given.

For myself that is much better than a random killer player at rank 12 being matched with a rank 20 and rank 1 survivor without a choice and being disadvantaged.

@twistedmonkey You said in the above quote: "Most PvP games your friends won't be able to play with you in a ranked mode unless they learn the basics and start to rank up. Why should this be any different?"

Let me stop your argument right there because that is a major flaw. In most any other PvP game, you are right: new players cannot play with their high-ranked friends in ranked mode. However, in most any other PvP game, there is also a Quick Play casual mode where they can.

Behavior, in yet another poor design choice for Dead by Daylight, decided to create the game with only a ranked mode. And therein lies the problem.

I'm a killer main, and for a game that they've also stated is a casual party game over the years, this current change is asinine. People want to play with their friends, including players they bring in. And given that DbD only has a Ranked mode, and no actual casual mode, this change is yet another very poor decision choice to keep driving new players away.

There are reasons why after a free weekend or bloodhunt, and within roughly two weeks of a 50% sale, DbD Steamchart numbers repeatedly drop back down to the 20k-25k daily peak player range, which has remained flat for some time now.

The difference is the userbase and why you saidn"if they can" this is why unsaid most and not all.

If the userbase can withstand it a casual mode works. If it can't the game is split and eventually one mode dies off or the game loses player entirely.

The problem you are arguing about comes down to damned if they do and damned if they don't. Your argument goes in favour of new survivors but new killer players also have to be catered for and I mean on them as they do not have the choice survivors do.

I personally find it quite selfish someone wishes to make a player that has no choice go up against them and have little to no chance just because they chose to play with a friend.

The way this has been done at least the new survivor players now have that choice. They chose where they wish to play and as in some other successful games if they wish to play with friends in certain modes they must play a bit before they can or should.

You have stated numerous times you played overwatch. What would happen if you had a friend join and were able to immediately jump into a ranked game with yourself? What would you advise them to do? Obviously it would take time to get to your rank and they cant play so you have the option to play the other mode and help them learn the basics (there is KYF) you can't play ranked with them until theybrank up so you then allow them to do that until they reach your area. Its just how it is.

The reason the playerbase goes back to the normal 20/25k according to the playerbase has mainly been balance which you yourself have spoken about especially on the killer side for quite a few times. This one change helps the balance more for the lower ranked killers than many before it and goes along with your own previous arguments. I can't see how you see can see this as being a bad thing for the sake of better balanced gameplay.

is it worth it playing her at level 1 basically along with no perks?

Yes she is one of the killers who can do extremely well even without perks in the right hands.

Personally I would pump some blood points into her to get some perks first depending on your ranks as it will make it easier less frustrating to start with. She is not for everyone but if you can master her you will enjoy her. Try her out and see how you get on.

She doesnt need any pallet or loop helping perks so concentrate more on tracking ones or which slow the game down as they give you time to learn her without the gens being done too fast.

I'm very interested in hearing a reliable dev intended way to get multi insta downs thst doesn't rely on camping/being near a basement.

That is the dev intended way it has to be there is no other way to pull that off unless survivors mess up in a ridiculous way like standing still grouped up until lf is there

Just because it can be done doesn't mean it is intended to always happen. If the players adapt a strat that is down to them not the devs for not wanting said strat to not be rewardable.

There doesn't have to be a reliable way it's just something that is possible. Multi downing people isnt meant to be guaranteed in every game. First and foremost his power is an Insta down but along with that it has a secondary effect of it being able to down many at once.

That should be a rarity if the survivors are smart.

  • As other have stated the Nurse is the hardest to master but once you have her down she is the Queen of DBD for a reason.

If you do wish to learn her don't use add-ons as muscle memory is one of the greatest strengths with using her.

You can gain lots of points with her once you are competent but can struggle for them while learning her.

The best killers for farming points are Doc and Legion even if you don't kill as many.

  • @UkilledLegion said:

@twistedmonkey if u remember cannibal can use saw and damage for example 2 surviviors for 1 time.Cannibal can do this if he only camp.u know?and if cannibal not camp he often useless killer because he cant use saw fully or will run with hammer

What you described is how you perceive the best way to play as him but that way is not the devs vision hence doing it isnt and won't be rewarded.

  • The devs dont want camping to be rewardable which is clear with the changes in the past.

Camping with the cannibal is a choice it's not how he was designed to be played much like any killer. It's the players who adapted basement face for example not the devs.

Camping is a boring strat imo but is has its place at certain situations so if you wish to camp with them so be it but as you stated its detrimental to your emblems.

The choice is always yours to make.

Never knew this, is it permanent or do you have to click each time

You need to click it each time you open the game but its then hidden for the duration of that playtime.

  • This happens with new dlc and events as people perceive that you can earn more BP with killers as they only see the end game total not the per hour rate.

  • It's the best advice about toxicity that's been said over and over that one can give a player.

End game chat can be highly toxic but it's a choice If you stay or not. Some relish in it while others can take it to heart.

On top of this is recommend making private profiles, comments friends only along with not accepting any invites while playìng.

Hopefully with dedicated servers they can do what they do with deathgarden and not allow people to directly link to the profiles outside the game. Maybe instead have a friends list in the game where you can add people before deciding to then add them to your platform list.

  • Makes me want a mini game while waiting in the queue where you can fight survivor v killer in 2d 😁.

I do think some players dislike the DBP weekend due to farmers or they just use killera they do better with or have better perks on.

Mori's well they gain you less but I suppose some dislike the farmers the event brings in so they end up making a statement to basically say play normally.

  • Yes a battlepass system is coming and soon.

They talked about it on the anniversary stream and while I am not a fan of battlepasses in general due to some making them p2w I really don't mind as long as they have nothing p2w in them. The saving grace is Horvath specifically stated it will have not have p2w aspects.

There is always a need to bring more money in and I think part of that is down to them buying the game. They struck a deal for 16 million to buy it from the publisher starbreeze in 2018 and the deal wasn't a one off payment from what we know so they are probably still paying for that along with all the salaries.

I would rather they did this than increase the dlc price tbh as that is the only aspect which changes or enhances actual gameplay.

  • It's a mechanic survivors took advantage off and the game has slowly been changed around it.

Looping like it or not is a huge part of the game and won't go away. While many would like more stealth play (it is highly viable versus certain players) that itself is a bone of contention as the ninja Claudette complaints can be just as bad.

The main issue for a lot of survivors is the amount of tracking and aura perks now in the game and while not everyone uses them for some it's not worth trying to stealth while I prefer it as it's not expected so works more often than not.

The games design is about chase mechanics and while survivors have looping killers have perks to try and help with it along with the new map design of badham showing mind gamable pallets can work well.

It's more about how quick these map changes can happen now as they show the game can be made around looping and work.

but... still, We are gonna live forever not such powerful, as BBQ and Chili

Well both are designed for blood points primarily with bbq just having something that aids both sides. If you can think of anything that could be added which would do the same for wglf open a thread make a suggestion πŸ˜‰

Same thought: Give an aura reading to survivors too before unhook. It's good for killers too, survivors will go to unhook and reduce the gen rushing

That idea has been mention but It could mean the killer had a better reason to go back to the hook so that would mean no more healing under it, tunnelling could increase if they see the unhooked one first and it means soft patrolling could be more beneficial.

I don't like aura at all for the perk for those few reason and I am sure others may think of more.

  • It's a PvP game and some just want to play normaly and some even dislike these events as it removes that option when people throw themselves at them to farm.

Many don't like farming games as tbh it can get kinda boring fast.

  • @BlockBite said:

They made BBQ and Chili alternative for survivours - We are gonna live forever. But devs forgot about a 1 thing. BBQ and Chili have another 1 option, besides x2 BP, showing the survivours auras. Why they can't add the same thing at We are gonna live forever? For example, you will see the Killer's aura after unhooking the survivour or see all survivours auras. But it is so HaRd

The reason being the aura reading was made for survivors just as much as killers. Its an incentive to leave the hook instead of camping instead of punishing a killer for using a strat.

  • Normally just for a daily and use it when someone is on third hook.

    I'm not a big fan of Mori's.

  • It's how people wish to play the game.

Any time a DBP or event is on some wish others to change up they play so they can earn more. Some however just want to play normally and don't care about these events. Each to their own.

No build or item use is playing toxic it's just part of the game and players can use anything they wish and if they think it gives them an advantage they probably will.

  • @kamisen said:

@twistedmonkey While the game needed this change, I think you are overestimating casual players' threshold.

On the forum people chant: "Your friends need to get better!", "Play KYF instead", "They KNOW that they're meeting someone better, they can prepare", "Punish deranking players so they stay in their rank".

My casual friends are having none of that. They simply said: "Let's find a new game, then!". Not one word about KYF, getting better or preparing more.

If deranking by suicide really is bannable and I cannot make my friends revisit the game, I will probably be a much less frequent player as well.

Time will tell of course but I personally think the game will be fine and people that enjoy the game will adapt to the change quickly. It's now not any different from most other PvP games afterall.

After any change the devs make players come to the forum and complain but tbh this change hasn't had as many complaints compared to the Legion changes or the DS change for examples.

I don't think KYF is the answer for players out to learn playing the normal game. KYF while good for learning maps and the basic game mechanics doesn't reflect the normal game play and people will generally go easier and not use some of the less liked tactics.

I can't ever see deranking by suicide being bannable as it's an in game mechanic. I am.not a fan of bans anyway and prefer time out systems. What idea I have mentioned in the past is making rank brackets where you have 5 of them like broad, silver, gold, platinum and diamond once you reach a bracket you cant derank after just 5 matches as it takes a minimum of 50 games to set an mmr and you can then drop to the lower bracket.

Matchmaking can match you with 1 below or above. It means those in the top can only play with the top two bracket for example. This is just for the sake of the player numbers.

I have also spoken about being on the hook and suiciding in the past and due to people doing it for a number of reasons I put out the idea of you needing to be on the hook for at least 30s in each stage before it's possible.

To start with your last one. I guess you dont have any friends since you dont see the issue with me not playing with them. I introduced them to the game, they want to play with me and hear about all the different killers and what they do and so on.

And as for the so called "choice" we have, killers have an equally insufficent choice in the form of lobby dodging. The choice you have presented isn't good enough and if you think it did. Then yeah lobby dodging is a thing.

And lastly the new killers in the green ranks. They have learned the basics. If a new system was in place that would find the middle ground of the ranks. Then that killer can always avoid the best player like we ALL do in red ranks. This is the absolute basic of playing killer if you see someone clicking their flashlight at you with a legacy outfit you better wait chasing them until you have taken some of their friends.

There is never any need to lower oneself to petty insults. It's a game and friends will take the time to learn the game if they truly want to play with you. You can still advise them and play with them all you wish it's just they will have a great time initially that's is the choice you have to make.

Lobby dodging needs looked at and who knows it may be getting worked on just but two wrongs don't make a right.

Learning the basic takes very litle time but that alone will not make you good enough to verse the better players. Any competent gamer could hit rank 15 with around 10 hours of play. Rank 15 to 10 are still zones for newer players and why it would be helpful if the devs also worked on the deranking of some. What you have learned regarding not chasing a player is done with time played and doesn't help when you don't have the knowledge or skills to avoid flashlights and good players will take advantage of that with newer killers.

It is quite clear no amount of reason will change your mind. I hope you can see it from the other side and if not happy gaming.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/715553#Comment_715553

Yes i have had to put up with the previously broken matchmaking as a killer main since 2016. And im not asking to have red ranks facing rank 20's again. I want a middle ground based on the amount of higher or lower leveled players to make it more fair. So if that is prioritizing MY fun over everybody else, then sure. I want this game to be able to keep its new players and not force them away.

The current situation with the complete opposite matchmaking is driving newcomers away in a really rapid succession.

And your statement is well contradictory... So since low level killers have been bullied for all these years its now time to let all new survivor players that have been brought in by a friend to be bullied? How about you put yourself in their shoes?

And saying this game will die by year 4 was a bit of a stretch i admit, but it will stop growing if all newcomers are driven away.

Even the middle ground has killers who can't compete with those in red ranks. That doesn't solve the issue and why it has been one of the most complained about situations.

The thing is survivors don't have to be bullied they have that choice. Having a choice and chosing it is on the person not the game. Most PvP games your friends won't be able to play with you in a ranked mode unless they learn the basics and start to rank up. Why should this be any different?

You are also not thinking about new killer players that come to the game gwtting bullied as getting to green ranks is easy for a killer as you cannot depip from 20 to 16. 15 to 10 is where most of the new players can end up and pretty quickly who have even a small knowledge of the game which is where the average game could pit them against those in your scenario.

New players should not be pitted against the best but at least new survivors have that choice now if they want to or not.

Your three new friends can easily play together for a while leaning the game. I don't really see why that is an issue if one person out of the four has to wait so its a fairer game for all.

  • @Karltastisk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/715061#Comment_715061

Seems like you think this is a 1 vs 1 game. When i bring in three newbies i expect that we wont face the best of the best at the beginning. I dont want to face rank 20 killers either, but a fair middle ground would go a long way for both parties. Now there is 1 person having fun opposed to the 4 we had before. And even then that one person had up to three people of equal skill.

This change has already gotten my friends thinking about quitting. And that is saying something.

If this game is going to live to see anniversary 4 this change needs to be reverted or atleast tweaked.

Can't you see an issue with how you are saying your fun should be priority over someone else's.

Killer players have had to put up with your scenario for years where they would be versing players too good for them due to the system.

Instead of thinking about only your circumstance put yourself in their shoes. Do you really think it was fair for them to not have fun in a match due to who you chose to play with?

Thats ok the game has been going to die numerous times with changes people didnt like since 2016 and here we still are.

  • @Karltastisk said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/714918#Comment_714918

So i guess you think it is fair then that a severeal thousand hour player is faced up against 3 newcomers and 1 veteran because one of them has played the equal amount that the killer has...

This is why the matchmaking was partly changed as it works both ways and was being abused.

If the game is not competative and is casual what difference then does it make for your friends to die more often?

Think about what you said about a 1k hour killer. A survivor could also have 1k hours and party with someone who had 20 hours so the killer may not have a fun match.

The main difference is choice. You or your friends can chose to party and learn versus the better killers or they can party up with the other 2 While they learn against lesser skilled ones until they reach a point they can play with yourself.

People need to stop purley thinking about their own fun in this scenario and realise a killer who has 50 hours at rank 12 paired with the 1000 hour survivor wasn't fun for them.

  • If and when I see Legacy I think they may be the ones who could run me the longest so I tend to chase others first.

I never dodge as I can't get aim to get better without playing versus survivors who may be a step ahead of me.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/714645#Comment_714645

The difference is the generator going off. If they can take it off anytime, they'd be more likely to take it off as soon as possible and then do a generator (at which point, you probably should have been able to down and hook somebody else). If they don't see auras until a generator goes off, it becomes way more efficient to do a generator and then search. When the idea behind the RBT is to slow down generators, encouraging them to do a generator is a little counterproductive.

    @Peanits

How about a slight tweak to RSN2 and instead of making you completely blind when trapped it shows you one of two boxs which is in between the closest and the furthest. It give players options and if the pig is using tampered timer a good reason to get it off or at least know where the others are before a gen pops.

  • Most killers powers tend to not work with basic hit attacks and tbh allowing this would only really help with lower ranked players.

Skill checks again won't help against the better survivors and only serve to hurt the lower ranks or new players.

There are already numerous threads about how new players and how people struggle to get friends to keep playing.

The Pig does need some love but those need to help with the high rank play without making it seemingly too daunting for new players to verse.

  • I agree as it's a symptom with any game where you have a system with abilities that can aid you in a match.

I have always viewed DBD as a fun casual game where the end outcome has little bearing on my enjoyment.

For the more competative crowd the stronger one side gets the more the other uses the best tools they have available which creates meta's for both sides and unfortunately I dont see that ever changing as some old and new perks will always be or become better for certain killers.

If only there was a reward system for playing around with different perks. Maybe a roulette idea like some streamers use in the game which choses person perks which net you some more blood points like the dailies do.

  • Yes I like the change to SWF lobbies. No more lower ranked killers going versus higher ranked survivors due to them chosing to play with low ranked friends is a great change.

The rest seems to be working most of the time but there are a few occurences where it does put some from other ranks in but that could be down to population in the player ranks.

  • Interesting idea but imo it makes it kinda not worth using as it's purpose is then to stop one perk which may not be used so the perk is useless and on top of that even if Rancor is used you have to be the obsession for it to do anything.

Maybe it removes exhaustion for taking protection hits near a hook or you put BT on yourself when injured but it's not normal you will go down as the timer doesn't stop. It's just a way you can save another while giving your own life which could be nice paired with unbreakable if they chose not to go after you.

  • They are still in the works with the archives.

More info will be coming in time.

Oh so in terms of ranking up it was even worse then than how it is today?

Because today it's relatively easy to get up to red ranks if you just keep playing and aren't a total disaster. You mean it was even easier before?

I thought with the requirement to kill killers would be weeded out on their actual killing skill.

With the victory cube to pip a killer only needed 2 kills. 4 kills gained you a double pip and survivors still worked off BP.

The problem with this is it highly encouraged tunneling or camping (especially if one was already dead) since you were guaranteed a pip by getting someone out the game really early.

The original bloodpoints meant getting to rank 1 was really easy. Everyone could do it as the requirements were so low. As Boss said it's what coined the getting to rank 1 phrase.

The problem the game has is making an actual rank system based on skill. Too hard for one side means long queues for the other.

It's a hard one to balance as the devs want fair play and some skill needed to get to rank 1.

Personally I don't like the emblems as they promote fair but unfair play and make people less likely to play certain killers as they rank up. On paper it makes game more diverse but in practice it puts more pressure on some to use the best.

Well, I hope Behaviour's investment pays off. I would love it if the Switch version gets a decent sized community as well. I am having no problem finding Survivor games, almost instant, so I hope that keeps up in the future.

I think it will do quite well. The switch has done better than expected for a semi hand held device and its why more games are coming over and vets who.own a switch that have playeed for hours will probably buy it again as who wouldnt want to play DBD on the go πŸ˜‰.

If I queued with 3 rank 15 friends I would not be against a new killer, I would be matched against a rank 10-11 if the average rank was taken

It's not just about being completely new but also not being good enough to get passed those ranks. That wasn't fair to be matched with you when they had no choice.

You and your friends have a choice so why should the one who doesn't be the person that gets disadvantaged?

For most 3rd party games, I would say it's not common.

    Nintendo own games sure

DBD of course came out in 2016 prior to the switch itself being released. They had also been working on the PS4 and Xbox versions which came out 3 months after the Switch.

For a small dev team they have to put resources into what may sell. The switch well that was a risk for Nintendo as the last console didn't do very well and I would bet many devs thought the same way and held off until it sold the numbers needed to justify investing time to port games for it.

  • Look at it this way.

    Your friend has three choices

Play with you and meet high rank killers, play alone or play with players around ther same rank and learn the game until they get to your level.

You have to think about not only your own circumstance but the new players who came in with the ST dlc who want to play the killer. They never had any choice to be matched with you just because you wanted to play with a low ranked friend.

  • The main difference is before the fix the matchmaking was all over the place and new players were being mixed into red ranks.

The fix was needed but I do agree the deranking needs looked at. It's why I dislike using this system for matchmaking as it's too easy to manipulate.

Personally I think matchmaking should look at a lot more. Hours, average kills/escapes, points earned per game (different rules for each killer) perks unlocked on multiple chars etc.

  • The last patch changed the low settings. The hotfix is to help with it so I would see what changes after the patch and if it doesnt help you post again letting them know.

  • Is it being addicted when I only play and watch others play DBD more than I'd would care to admit 🀣.

I feel a lot of the players have a love/hate relationship with the game. No other game has personally made me feel in such a way that I wanted to stay around for so long. Normally I would love on after a short time as I have a short attention span. So I have commend the devs for making a game that can do this for me.

Although I see what you mean, I just do not think it is the right direction for DBD. Also, mobile games make more money than console and PC games because they usually pump their apps full of disgusting amounts of ads and microtransactions. Not saying that DBD will do that, but that is the reason why they get so much revenue.

    I disagree sorry.

As a gaming company if there is a market for your game on any platform why wouldnt you make it available?

The more platforms the game is out on the more money the devs can so in turn it allows them to keep the game going long term.

DBD already has microtransaction in the form of skins. They also have all the dlc's to sell. It's an untapped market and one millions of people enjoy.

There are also programs like bluestacks where you can play mobile games on pc very easily without the need for the higher end hardware.

  • I really dont see why they shouldn't if game like pubg can be successful why not DBD? Games on mobile devices are becoming better all the time with each new yearly device becoming more powerful more console/pc games can and will port over.

Mobile gaming is actually the largest market out there with around 55 billion spent last year and rising. The question really is why wouldn't a developer not try and tap into that market?

The teams working on each platform are different so it doesn't affect the others and who knows maybe they can learn from each other.

I left this dicussion to make devs understand how can some people feel starting in this game. Just imagine in how someone rejects a full free game from you, knowing you're already experienced with this.

Btw, my kill could grant the win for the killer, you don't need always the four kills wasting 20 minutes and it's clear that in that match he could have just killed me and still win.

That just shows the game was not for them as you know yourself that is the game we chose to play. There is nothing that can be done to change how someone wants to play the game without making it an entirely new one. It's just how it is.

I have been offered lots of free games and declined quite a few as they weren't my type. I'd rather the game went to someone who would enjoy playing it.

As for not having to always get the 4 kills well that's not for you or I to decide what someone deems as a victory as each person's view is different. While we may see 2 kills as enough and let some go others may feel they need that 4k or like the Doctor match they could want to max out their bloodpoints or using the group as practice so everyone gets some.
