Her ability is quick traversal while undetected save for her vacuum tell. Having a guaranteed means of locating a vulnerable player is unsportsmanlike. Imagine if Wraith could uncloak instantly. He'd immediately shoot up to SS+.

They removed the locational audio on Huntress for the similar reasons. She was at a massive disadvantage simply for being heard. Now against Spirit, you're not only audibly at a disadvantage but due to the nature of her ability, she can pop up right behind you with zero reaction time. It's broken.

It fixes nothing by reversing it. Oh I still can't see anything. Guess I'll throw down these pallets early creating deadzones for endgame.

“I can’t hear Spirit phasing unless she’s nearby. Better throw all the pallets in the game down.”

If you’re brand new to the game, sure. Maybe you’ll make that mistake.

The only time this sound change affects Spirit is if she’s already nearby a survivor. Generally in chase.

Except in the situation you’ve described the survivor now knows for sure she’s phasing. Now the survivor can make decisions based on what he’s learned playing against this Spirit.

Does she drop survivors as soon as she phased to trick survivors into making huge mistakes like that or does she stick with the chase to try to get another hit?

    N P 🤣

The Hag is invincible with the right perks.

The spirit... even with the best perks it sucks. Why does it suck? Its power is Wraith and Nurse combined, slow and intuitive, it's not precise (like the nurse). Sometimes Stridor bug, bug noises, it's very hard during the teleportation phase because you never know who are the survivors ... She is OP with her addons but without her addons she doesn't hold a red rank team !

Her power doesn't last long, but she is fast. If you take away her speed (or nerve) she is slow and her power doesn't last long... she becomes worse than Nurse in terms of gameplay, not impossible but frustrating, very frustrating... who will want to play her?

You are the first person I’ve ever seen claim Spirit is add on dependent to the point that she is a trash killer.

I didn’t say to reduce her power or speed. I said switch who hears the sound cue.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Remove hearing survivor noises while phasing.

And allow her go up sheer surfaces like second story windows. She's a ghost, why can't she fly?

Sound is crucial to her power.

The point isn’t to nerf her, the point is to give survivors something to work with beyond, “I think I need to predict now.”

Well if that's what she's supposed to be then I'd rather they changed her purpose to be less horrendously boring and one-sided both to play as and against. That's why people are asking for reworks, and not nerfs...wonder when people will catch onto that

I get when people see rework they get scared because the devs think the words have the same definition, but in my mind she literally only needs that one thing.

If the devs ever agree I hope they change that, go to lunch, and forget the other dozen things they would likely want to change when no one asked for them to.

    Spirit is fine.

Spirit is very strong and this doesn’t really even weaken her. It just makes you play differently.

  • No worries. I was looking at my post trying to figure out what you were talking about. XD

I used to agree with that, but honestly it’s like saying stealth killers are useless if you bring Spine Chill or it’s an auto win against Hag if you bring a flashlight.

Yeah, Spirit would require different tactics but she wouldn’t be useless.

People always tell me Hag has depth and a high skill ceiling but to win the game with her it's such a 1 dimensional strategy and you don't ever have to deviate from it because almost every survivor can't do anything against it, and the ones that can means an auto-lose for the Hag: trap 1 half of the map, get a down with little effort because insta teleport to traps and fun killer, hook and place traps around hook, teleport when survivors go for save, rinse repeat. Wow, so much depth and so much skill involved.

This just tells me you do not play Hag in red ranks regularly enough to go up against good teams.

There are plenty of bad players that will play into Hag’s traps, but there are quite a few decent to good players that will play around them and require a lot of creativity and transitioning between strategies that keeps the game very interesting and very tough.

Also Billy does not hold down an area like hag does. Another strong aspect of her traps is leaving chases in the middle of them when someone sets off a trap, meaning she is the only killer that can pressure two or more survivors in different parts of the map. This makes her 3 gen especially strong, and can make her unpredictable. No other killer has that ability.

Honestly, there's alot of unique things hag can do that no other killer can because of her super fast teleport. It was even stronger before dedicated servers when there was absolutely no delay between teleporting and appearing, but she's still A tier strong

I see a lot of people giving good and bad answers but there’s one thing they’ve all missed:

Even a good SWF can be torn apart by a good Hag.

The issue isn’t necessarily that they can communicate and tell each other where your traps are. The issue is that too many Hags play into that and get absolutely wrecked.

Hag punishes bad decisions, but because of her prep she has a lot of room to make up for her own.

I play against quite a few SWFs on comms -I take rematches from them if we get along in end game chat and add them- and SWFs can only give each other information they have.

If you’re feeding them wrong information by placing fake traps or just cutting line of sight between you and one of them, it just takes one person to start making mistakes.

If you punish those mistakes appropriately and harshly their strategy starts falling apart just like it does for any match.

Given that SWFs on comms are friends who’ve worked together many times it’s much easier said than done.

  • I wasn’t going to comment because I’m not great at being aggressive with her and figured someone else would.

So, the main way people play her is territorially. However, Michi plays pretty aggressive. You can watch his videos.

I switch between territorially and aggressively if I have a really good reason to. For instance, two people are left and they haven’t been triggering my web.

If you haven’t already learned it, you should identify times you don’t want to teleport. Instead, look at where your phantasm is watching and move to cut the person off.

To play aggressively you’ll be dismantling your old web and wandering around the map, placing traps in paths as normal. However, you want them to be very surprising.

A few of them should still be in tiles but most of them should be in the paths outside of tiles so you can track down the survivors by decreasing the chance of them crouching through.

I only do this when I already have a 2k because doing it before that is incredibly difficult.

If you can get really good at it you’ll be unpredictable and a threat to teams that are actually good at dealing with her because they will have a much harder time figuring out your webs.

  • The new MMR was disabled around two weeks ago. It’s been matching by ranks this whole time.

  • If you can do it, just use it early. Even if you only waste four seconds at least it’s a little bit more time.

  • Honestly, no. The difference between rank 1 and every other rank in the game can be massive because rank 1 is the truest mix of players who don’t know what they’re doing and players that really know what they’re doing. Most of which know more than players in lower ranks despite a lot of people claiming that ranks don’t matter.

Someone hard stuck in rank 2 likely isn’t going to stand a chance against someone who maintains rank 1.

So they'll have to stream something else for a bit until they get a bypass. There are a ton of people that stream this game so I'd hardly say they're losing exposure just because some of the bigger ones can't stream it for a bit, if anything there will be more of an outcry which might get it even more exposure.

There's also only so many big streamers they can target before they all have a bypass and if they keep disabling it then the hackers will keep messing with it when it's re-enabled. Better to just keep it on then deal with this back and forth nonsense.

If they hold their ground the hackers will have to find something else to to keep themselves entertained. Frankly, I think it's the better call to not give in and just help whoever gets effected.

You underestimate people’s dedication to being jackasses.

I ran a home services business and got into an argument with the owner of an IT business. He prank called me for several months with an unknown number and left a fake bad review for my company.

How do I know it was him? He got into an argument with someone else and within ten minutes that person reported exactly what happened to me.

If a hacker doesn’t like a big streamer they can do this once every three days to completely ######### them over.

  • If the unhooker gets downed during the animation and the killer goes after you, I wouldn’t call it tunneling.

    I’d call it maximizing pressure.

  • It’s very good that survivors can 99 exit gates. It can lead to misplays that extends the game and leads to close calls.

It’s both frustrating and satisfying to make last second save and turn things around on a killer even if a second person went down in the first save because you have that extra time.

As a killer you can capitalize on this because most survivors don’t want to open the gate first and will over commit to late game saves which can turn the game in the killer’s favor.

I understand where you’re coming from, but this is a problem that gets solved with experienced not a rework.

I can't be going against that many good Survivors if I am able to win frequently in high ranks with a pure meme build.

Meme builds can be seriously deadly. I have yet to lose as Hag with Freddy’s kit and NOED almost exclusive teleporting in end game because no one expects it.

The only time I got a draw was when I purposely let someone escape after the first one left.

  • Not a survivor main but I was in an SWF with a friend and I can tell you 100% some players actually consider anything camping.

The random Bill was hanging out right next to our other friend’s hook so of course Billy wasn’t leaving. He knew Bill was there.

Our friend not on hook started complaining. I’m the only one with Kindred so I told him straight up, “Bill is by hook. Of course he’s going to stay. How is that camping?”

His response was, “I would call it proxy camping.”

That’s when I learned the survivor rule book isn’t just a meme. Some people truly believe ######### like the killer should not stay by a hook for any reason.

  • I’m really excited to see how they end up ranked.

Every killer is viable in every rank, so if there’s a new player that wandered in, don’t be discouraged by what people say about any killers.

Some killers just don’t have as much going for them as others so need some assistance from specific types of perks. Clown and gen pressure for instance.

  • Am I the only one that realized this post was completely sarcastic?

Did no one see the syntax change at the end?

  • I can’t remember if it’s lag or a bug, but it’s one of those.

  • The higher the quality the more work it is and the more it costs.

Sadly it is only because you dont have any option to slow the game down at the start so its only there by default

As a Hag main I can promise you Corrupt Intervention is not mandatory even though it’s super powerful.

  • I had the same issue for a while. If you practiced mind gaming in lower ranks then what you’re about to learn is your mind games didn’t work because you did them right. They worked because way more survivors below purple ranks don’t know how to mind game and screwed up.

I got past that wall by relearning literally everything and breaking all of the bad habits I didn’t even know I picked up.

  • @MotherOfRaccoons said:

    Lmao.

Just like they said, now that Nurse then Billy got the axe, the crowds demand to nerf the next strongest killer. Maybe we'll live to see the day when players protest to nerf Clown.

Spirit is fine. Learn how to counter her.

I know someone who says he’s OP because of his ability zone and shut down loops so he needs a nerf.

  • Honestly, she doesn’t need all that. A small change like being able to hear her footsteps would go really far in making her balanced.

  • It sounds like you’re very new.

All killers have the same attack range.

Killers can hit around a corner because looping is a big part of this game. If a killer can only attack straight the chances of them landing a hit are low. If you add in the aim dressing feature in the game it lowers that chance even more.

Recovering should not be converted into wiggle progress. Slugging is an advanced strategy that should be used at specific times.

Removing slugging is a huge nerf.

Before calling for changes to a game, if you’re new to the game you should just ask why things are allowed.

  • @alaenyia said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1555105#Comment_1555105

No one likes being slugged and it is cheap and lazy. You down them put them on a hook, pretty easy. That is the game, chase, down, hook, repeat, till dead. So many end game changes have come about with the excuse that it wastes killer's time, well slugging survivors is a waste of their time.

Slugging is only a waste of time if you have time to hook. If you don’t it’s a waste of a survivor’s time.

You down someone and walk away. That’s a slug.

You down someone, pick them up, walk to a hook, hook them, then walk away.

    That’s a lot of time.

  • Hag for sure if you know how to play her.

    Freddy kit meme:

    NOED

    Blood Warden

    Remember Me

    Fire Up

Put a trap at the level of each gate and put your traps on the paths to both doors.

Run around M1ing people until end game. Then they trigger the traps and you destroy everyone because they think you don’t know how to play Hag.

    Basement build

    Territorial Imperative

    Agitation

    Iron Grasp

    Make Your Choice

    Mint Rag Add On

You can use one trap max to catch people in a chase so you should rely heavily on mind games and prediction. Hook someone in basement, trap in your favorite location, and leave.

On top of those there’s Body Blocker Hag, All Seeing Hag which just consists of our aura reading. Although that build is less funny and more plain devastating.

There are a few others but besides body blocker Hag these three are my favorite.

its fine as a defense against stealth thats not what this is about

this about sc making myers and ghostface almost completely useless by negating their ability to stalk

you cant stalk survivors while strafing towards them plz read the full post

I read it. You need to play around the perk.

Get as close to them as possible by strafing.

They’ll usually start by sneaking away so you close the distance to try to get a hit if you’re Myers and go back to stalking or just go back to stalking because at this point they’re going to run away.

If something has counter play it doesn’t really need to be changed.

  • If you’re not using lethal rush it works if I understand the power correctly.

    Basically: maybe? :p

  • First time I played Burger King Myers on Lery’s there were three Spine Chills. Haven’t done it since.

I honestly don’t think it needs to be changed

Spine Chill is the main defense against stealth.

On most maps the killer can just strafe to the survivor.

Obviously in the wrong map you’re screwed but that’s the same issue with a few killers. Billy and Huntress for instance

  • All builds are allowed in the game. No one is toxic for running a specific perk, add on, item, killer, or offering.

No action is toxic unless it’s needless. You’re clicky clicking me at a pallet and teabagging? Alright, you want me to chase you. There’s very likely a survivor that’s worse at chasing than you, I’ll ignore you until later. I get it

You’re teabagging in the exit gate and no leaving? Okay, you’re being an #########.

Killer is legit camping when there’s no gain? (All gens are done, they only have one person on hook and don’t know if anyone is around but gens aren’t done, etc) you’re either new or toxic.

You’re camping me because all gens are done or you have someone slugged right next to me and you want to get me to second hook stage or just want to keep half the team disabled? Boring for me, but I respect the overall strategy so I’m good with it

They’re toxic if they do things to be hurtful that they aren’t supposed to be doing. Otherwise, it’s likely not toxic to me.

Second unpopular opinion: most dedicated server latency hits are not dedicated server latency hits. A lot of the times I see a video, it’s not latency. The person literally got grazed at the edge of a hit box.

  • @Yasuhoe said:

Recently I have seen an influx of killers taking green moris and tunneling the first person they hook into the ground. Why is this a thing? Can a killer main please educate as to how this is fun and interactive game play for the survivor being tunneled?

I think it might just be your bad luck

The only change I can think of would be Orzdarba’s advice on prioritizing two people to kill before three gens are done so you have an advantage mid and late game. He outright says not to tunnel but I can imagine people applying the green moris to the strategy.

I highly doubt that’s what happened but I did want to answer your question with two ideas.
