It is more a dislike for a certain type of Killer players. Exactly those who think that just because endgame happens, the Killer now deserves a Kill, because "there is nothing else left to do" or they did not get a Kill earlier.

The reality is that the Killer player had a whole game to kill the Survivors and did not manage to do so. And usually this also means that the Killer player did not really play good the whole game. And yet they demand a Kill in Endgame.

And I know that someone will now say "Yeah, but the Killer was playing nice, this is why they dont have a Kill!!!111"… Yeah, no. The overlap between people who tunnel (and should get Kills early) and the amount of people who complain about "free escapes" in Endgame is very big. We are most likely looking at a Killer player who tried to tunnel, failed and then still wants his "earned" Kill in Endgame.

But I admit - yep, I dont like those kind of Killer players. But I dont mind that Endgame is killer-sided (because it is) and I am totally fine with being left behind on the Hook in Endgame or leaving others behind, if it is not reasonable to try to save them.

I would be interested to see a late game last stand sort of the thing so theres a reward for going for 12 hooks for instance. Like in Endgame for every survivor 2nd stage+they arent dead currently something happens. Not sure how theyd do it but sounds interesting. Perks like no way out kinda do this but they only count the first hook per person so you can just tunnel with NWO and make it much easier for yourself.

I wouldn't say that at all. I think a lot of Survivor players play the role well enough, but there are too many variables stacked against them. All by design, of course. The same isn't true of Killer. Naturally some powers are stronger than others, but even the weak links seem to do better than the average Survivor (KR/ER-wise). All that I think is happening now is that there's more pressure on gens than anything else and Survivors by and large are stepping to the plate. I don't think that means they're escaping any more than usual, but they are stressing Killers out.

Yeah and with not much content and changes in the past while I could also amount it to most people I know that play killer dont play it as much anymore and mmr doesnt degrade that fast or at all. So they are also mixing rust from just coming back or the occasional game to their probably prime because thats normally where your mmr sticks.

same could be said about the exit gate still being an option after hatch is closed tbh

Ironically why no way out is a solid perk. If you really want that endgame kill after closing the hatch because all the survivors but 1 died. It basically guarantees final kill for you if you want it that badly.

  • I mean i would say extending the hook timer from what was it 60 to 70 seconds improved a lot of efficiency from the survivor end ironically. Thats probably the best I can think of lol. And I guess if you count the mass of healing perks and buffs meaning less time healing. So less time healing+less of a rush to unhook.

  • @OrangeBear said:

If i was in that situation, i wouldn't be intentionally aiming the tentacle at the pallet instead of the survivor. Like i get they are doing that otherwise the chase is gonna get broken but maybe it should be. Infect them and start interrupting someone else. I know nemesis isn't exactly a hit and run killer but this map is balanced around the idea of catching survivors off guard

Yeah with how spread the resources are and assuming the nemi doesnt have a stealth build. In most cases he will be preran or the survivor will have enough time to make it to something and just do this loop with a different set of pallets. And the problem with hitting the survivor i assume is the speed boost yeah lol. And there could be worse killers in this scenario where this map just dumpsters them. Plague, legion without iri lol, trapper, ghostface, I think even bubba comes to mind.

Yeah but… isn´t the usual complain from Survivors that we don´t want to get tunneld out? That this is a big part of what makes the game boring?

So… it would be better to not punish the Killers which are spreading the hooks and "punish the Killers which go for 3 hook elimination?

Yeah I have swapped up how I play once I found out how this mechanic actually worked lol. If I find the freshly uncaged with no protection knowing how this mechanic works now I dont hesitate to recage and potentially sacrifice them especially if they dont get a tonic in time. Its made the game a lot easier. A stark opposite of my usual nature because I love to split hook. But if bhvr is literally punishing it I am not against taking the wins how I get em.

  • Ironically I feel the guards became slower in a patch lol. Everytime I see them they are so far behind the survivor even the assassin now. But then again every game is at least one exhaustion perk so.

If you're talking about bans, then it's sad for most of us because the "favourites" move on at that point. Unlike certain others who get banned and just come back with alt accounts..

Ain't that irony lol. All the people who actually put the years of work and commitment in get banned because they make mistakes sometimes and degrading doesnt exist currently. So they eventually get full banned or a long enough one and just kinda realize they werent making change anyway or if they were it was very rare. So just move on. The people who come in to make trouble can make infinite accounts and command space and get more attention that way. I have a lot of respect for people sticking through though so a post like this is good for getting those people their recognition. You all are awesome.

Still, the way you phrased and presented it it sounds like they said it should function that way, while this has yet to be decided.

Fair enough I went mostly by the title and people saying it had to be a bug before which yeah is a gray area right now and seems like they dont know for sure either of how itll turn out. I can change the text to be more accurate.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4057416#Comment_4057416

Yeah, it is not a Bug. But it is a Add On which is super old and they simply did not account for it when creating Turn Back The Clock.

Just was making sure my title wasnt wrong lol. Thanks.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

They literally said in the same stream it is not intended and they will see if they want to keep it or not.

Didnt they technically say not a bug though? The addon is working as designed.

The Uninstall-Survey did get updated since then. At least I am pretty sure it did. (I uninstalled a few weeks ago because I had to move some things around on my PC and noticed that it was different than before)

But yeah, given their track record and the miserable state of Survivor right now - them asking mainly Survivor questions does not mean anything if the feedback gets ignored or changes reverted instantly.

Oh Did it? Fair enough. Glad they changed it if they did.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"There's a noticeable trend of these surveys being geared towards the Survivors and having no real space for Killers to chime in."

You act as if this mattered so far. 🤣

I mean did the uninstall survey not have a effect on bhvrs decisions in that example? They pushed the change in the first place because of the survey.

  • I just went around it by hitting tweak then putting buffs in the space. If they wont put it themselves ill do the extra work. (If they read it)

  • @Mandy said:

It's important to have the opinion on both sides of the game - the same as if this was a survivor related survey, I am pretty sure if there was a question such as "do you think your surivvor role is too strong" that killers would like to have the same question asking if they feel the survivor role is too strong.

Data that comes from only one side, is not helpful to us in this context.

But didnt you already do that on stuff like the uninstall survey which was very important as it decided the "top reasons people Uninstalled the game"

    1000013543.png
  • An idea I saw that wasnt too bad was a faster bt degrade the longer you stay near who unhooked you. So like with a grace period of like a second or 2 anyone within 6 meters of a ally has their protections degrade 3x as fast or something. At least helps with the survivor completly running behind their teammate. And with the grace period they can get enough away to keep the normal duration. I guess one scenario is if its solo and they happen to run the exact same way which is kinda unlucky but possible on some maps and stuff like basement. Nothings full proof really.

  • It and boots are a necessity pm to play him even as someone whos p100d him and played all his versions. Engravings were always the route. They solved that a bit with making him a bit faster basekit. But its still nothing major.

  • Yeah ive noticed a lot of aggression and stuff over just choosing a survivor? Like I get its a inclusion people but if people like them dont get that mad over it.

  • Wraith and doctor have the same problem of just being 4 different addons with different rarities so they could just make em one addon half base in each thing and make em something new. Nemi yeah half the addons are atrocious, billy could use a bit of a more interesting set too.

  • One of the reasons the forum is a joke i have heard and people have left is literally the escalation system. I dont know how the devs and mods take this long to catch on to its a problem with how many great people we lost over the years. Most of which were very kind and they cant even solve the occasional gore post. Ive pushed for these fixes before and its always "we are aware" so im slowly getting to that point. Alls good friend. As someone who is on that walking on eggshells thing right now as well. It sucks.

  • @BongoBoys said:

Wouldn't change anything because people would miss the icon or ignore it and we'd be back to the same thing. I got accused of cheating multiple times of 2v8 including from streamers and I watch their vod and it shows the icon literally right there. Lol.

  • @Shroompy said:

I cant show gifs right now since Im at work, but some other animation and sound changes I can think of that seemingly changed all of a sudden:

-Trappers walking animation was changed (undocumented), also has been missing his bear trap in the lobby for years now

-The Wraiths arms bend unnaturally when stunned

-Hillbilly rev animation is bugged and seemingly plays in slow motion (pay attention to the head)

-Nurse camera flicks upwards when recovering from fatigue

-(this one is more a request) When using Fragrant Tuft of Hair, Myers should use his reverse grip like he used to in tier 3. (Also missing unique POV chase music)

-Doctor is missing his unique POV chase theme

-Huntress' wrist bends unnaturally when charging a hatchet. She used to also stop humming when in chase with someone.

-Bubba's tantrum animation was changed to be a lot more stiff. His chainsaw also sounds much more choppy instead of the constant aggressive revving like before

-Pigs arm bends unnaturally when turning, missing RBT in lobby

-The Clown doesnt have any upper movement when charging a bottle from a survivors POV

-Cancelling Demo's shred looks snappy and unnatural (also missing unique POV chase theme)

-Oni is missing his unique POV chase theme

-Slinger sometimes doesnt have an ADS animation from a survivors POV. Spear is also misaligned on all skins except for the default (check it yourself in game, select slingers default weapon, and then any other skin. Youll see the spear is slightly higher and doesnt match where it should be inside the barrel)

-Pyramid Head's arms bend unnaturally when turning

-Blight's camera sometimes flicks downwards after recovering from fatigue

    -The Twins lol

-The Tricksters arms can sometimes "skip" when repeatedly throwing knives. Knives are missing a "voom" sound effect from a Survivor POV. In the lobby he sometimes has the heart animation which is supposed to be unique to the "God of Desire" outfit. During a high combo, he no longer "breathes" heavily when repeatedly throwing knives. (and finally bring back the ptb theme pls, its literally in vol 3 of the official soundtrack :( )

-When tiering up the Nemesis will play the animation of the tier he just entered rather than the one he just upgraded from, making it so his tentacle phases through his arm

-In the lobby, Vecnas book sometimes snaps unnaturally back into his chest

-In the lobby, when selecting Springtrap the camera pans out (meant for larger killers like Nemesis and Dredge) when its not supposed to, making it so whenever he does the select animation of peeking from the side of the screen, his hand is not gripping onto anything

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, def more

    Dang nice list as well

Yeah i hope one of the community managers sees this and shows the team.

Kinda a bad time to post it since they going on vacation soon but we will see lol

  • Hopefully a dev reads this because this is what billy needs now. Itd make his qol so much better and I miss old billy for the animations.

  • Springtrap:am I a joke to you.

Hes nothing that amazing in strength surprisingly. A 7 second recall time for his axe. The doors seldom do anything in some games.

  • Alright. When we stop giving survivors extended haste and endurance after the exit gates are open since thats when its supposed to be "fair play" but they keep giving the protections anyway.

  • On one end its nice being able to play m1 killers again even against the stronger teams. So Id like this if killers were still mostly m1 designed. Maybe if they ever do map density based on killers this would be a good version. But yeah 9.2.0 was atrocious for killer. Now its reversed. Thus is the way bhvr uses the dial for some reason.

please tell me with the straightest face that this is ok and that i need to “learn to actually play.” any killer with at least 3 minutes of playtime can get a hit at this loop in less than 8 seconds.

This over PTBs I'd take any day. The sample size for testing is so small, it's not even worth making them anymore if they're gonna be exclusive to steam.

Well this is mainly because most games can easily adjust number values client side now which makes it easy to make a alternate gamemode with those changes. A ptb that's gonna introduce a entire new killer or add a new effect to a existing one still would need a PTB

It was just nerfed to not stack anymore, to prevent bully squads or SWF to abuse it. Its still one of the strongest perks in the game that counters many addons, perks and even killer power by itself. Its too much for a single perk.

As for the OP, yeah, Vigil is currently busted. The current 66% reduction to all stats is too much for a single perk. They can do many things to tone it down like reduce to the old 30%, make it work only on Exhaustion (that what most people use the perk for) or make it work only for status effects with the exception of Exhaustion.

Dbd is a game about numbers i wonder why accelerating all status effects is very strong. We have 90 second,80 second,45 second,40 second, 30 second. 20 second. And 12 second status as far as i can remember with various perks and addons on the killer side. And vigil applies to all of them cutting the time almost in half for each one. You literally cannot use hubris because you dont catch up fast enough as a m1 to get the reward from it.

The Killer leaves your Terror Radius or a certain distance to avoid undetectable things

Not sure how that would work, where you have high mobility killers who basically don't need to be anywhere near hook and get there in few seconds.

You run in a certain distance to another Survivor for to long

That would be nice for griefers… I would be very annoyed if someone on purpose, or just didn't know, run same way from the killer just for me to lose endurance.
Unless I would lose only elusive, that's not that bad then.

Ironically I made the same last suggestion because it would help in the case that a survivor hugs another survivor for endurance hits. Griefing is at least bannable if proved. Bringing those protections to the game with no early deactivation to prevent using it offensively is a worse alternative I feel.

  • @MDRSan said:

The bloodlust bonus was supposed to help the killer get to their next target, not help them during the next chase. Just like unhook protections go away once a survivor touches a gen, this bonus should deactivate once the killer engages their next objective.

you say that like survivors werent using the 30 seconds of protection to do anything but like run infront of the killer to force a hit when they were chasing someone else.

  • @TheArbiter said:

Blight and Billy should be 110

It's funny to see billy included in this when for years people (me definitely included considering ive mained him since 2017) clamored for his redemption because of the patch of 4.1.0. Im kinda glad hes made such a redemption since then. Not the most crazy take but I do think hes the most map dependant of the high tiers. Because theres a lot of maps his chainsaw cannot land on you still. And crouchtech is hardly fixed yet. So maybe if they undo pallet density again and actually fix the bug nerfing him or decide its fully intended.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I'm gonna be honest, I'm really not a fan of YouTube dump and run posts. Wish we had some sort of rule here that if you open a new discussion post, you actually need to start the discussion and not let everyone else do it for you. Summarise the video, share why you agree or disagree, and create some discussion. Otherwise it just feels like clickbait.

Yeah ive used posts before with his video or the like but I use it a supporting evidence vs just making it the whole arguement lol.

  • @jesterkind said:

To be fair, I think they can just simply nerf this and fix it.

If BoP only gave, say, 25 seconds of Undetectable, it'd be much harder to chain uses but would still be a very useful off-hook stealth pick. A number change could fix the oversight in this instance.

Agreed seeing people running it i think its a very healthy pick but the duration does need to be lowered a bit. It does nothing if you tunnel. (Sounds like another nerfed perk hm?) So having perks that encourage that is a better way to do it. Rather not see them nuke it or rework it again when we finally have a chance for it to be actually half decent.

  • @Rickprado said:

Hi! Hope everyone is doing fine.

This is not a "Us vs Them" post but i have a genuine question for the devs and the community:

Why perks like Sloppy Butcher, Gift of Pain, Deathbound, Leverage and many other perks and killer addons that are meant to slowdown heals are handicapped or just plain nerfed while we see every patch new perks to make healing even more fast than before?
I'm not against healing as i think they are much more easier to balance and healthier to the game than perks focused on exhaustion or repair speed, but why the counterpart to healing perks are nerfed or just forgotten every new patch? Even Thana that used to be a good slowdown for the majority of killer was nerfed to work at only 1 killer in the whole rooster.

I used to play a lot with Sloppy and other now i don't see any reason for using the perks, since it was nerfed if i hit and run the effect will wear off eventually and survivor won't really bother to heal through the mangled because they can just wait it out or just power through the status with the big amount of perks they have.

That's it. Thanks for the attention.

    1000012480.gif

(Sorry couldnt miss this chance) but you are exactly right. They did nerf these things (like leverage recently for whatever reason) and proceed to omega buff a bunch of survivor healing perks. Like recently with them trying breakdown. For what reason? Not really sure. They said healing is one of the natural slowdown of the game and just proceed to make it light speed (literally wicked and resurgence on the ptb is instant lol)

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

I think Pig specifically would be a massive issue.

She's already a really good tunneller and you absolutely need to interact with the boxes. Making that a conspicuous action would buff her cheese strats even more.

There'd also be other issues like Singularity where you need to use an EMP to counter his chase power, so getting tunnelled off the hook would essentially make it so you can't EMP without instantly dying.

(Also you can't grab a Freddy clock in the Conspicuous Action window unless you're actively being tunnelled and the Freddy somehow loses you, you literally start awake off the hook)

All they need to do is undo the change made to Cenobite.

Yeah I threw freddy in there idk why lol. I think worse examples are yeah like planting a flame turret against xeno or the pinhead example right now. Because both of those directly hurt the killers power. Same for probably disarming traps or removing hag traps for a teammate. You are actively going against the killers power under protection. Springtrap is a interesting case because why are you immedately going into a door with ds and telling the springtrap to ignore it is a little unfair.

  • @BlackRabies said:

That really shouldn't be a thing and sounds abusive as hell.

Get hooked - unhook in the killers face healthy - get hit - run around shack - get hit with 30 second unhook protection - run around more - get hit and downed - use DS on killer - run around again.

    Hit DH-run around shack again

  • @BorisDDAA said:

Resurgence is already instant, you're wasting perk slots.

Instant 70% so you still need a teammate. With this you dont. You can just jump off full health and keep your protections.

  • You can also use self care, breakdown, and botany for 150% percent heal speed self care. Its reverse we'll make it. Not counting a medkit ofc

  • Yeah them saying "we gave bloodlust" when its only 5% and its deactivated by so much as even going into shroud as ghostface. Just no bhvr.

  • Its easier to say something was always intended to be this way then to fix it.

  • Yeah I wish both were options instead of one being locked to a addon but its very good.

  • @Brimp said:

I feel like they got the wrong definition. Hand holding at least in the traditional community sense is literally being handed stuff like survivors are with the elusive, 32-meter killer aura read and 30 second haste and endurance.

What they really meant to say was "railroaded" or in my sense "you're forced to take this one path for a while"

Yeah I find that more railroading

Perchance you didn't see the post above: I agree! Let's not treat changes to killer issues as valid until they've been verified by the same type of survey. For example, we have an upcoming nerf to syringes and styptics. Now I think there is ample evidence that killers don't like these, and BHVR must have data on them for balance purposes, but let's throw it on the exit survey for a few years to be sure!

    More seriously:

Adding one question, even if it is a question they should be asking, would change nothing about tunneling and camping data they received. It wasn't a vote and people seem to be confusing those concepts.

Yeah but to say anything about killer issues you had to post them in the area below and bhvr had to actually read them. Thats harder I guess than just clicking a button and bhvr pulling up a data spreadsheet saying "which one of these was picked the most" of course thats gonna win over bhvr having to manually read each killer player putting it in the text bar in the survey below. Because I doubt bhvr even read half of them. They just did the spreadsheet stats and that happened to win. Because of course it did lol. They only counted for that part. So if they wanted to be truly accurate. They woulda put killer usual issues in there as well and counted them on their spreadsheet. But they didnt.

    1000012409.jpg

Trust me I dont like to say biased either. But this sounds like they are.

  • @Crowman said:

It doesn't. BHVR literally showed us a clip with the updated anti-tunnel buffs of using it to body block the killer.

Watching their example with bots sandbag their entire point was peak comedy.

  • Remember when people celebrated her obliteration because "its just till they rework her she can last till then". Shoulda listened to the killers saying it wont work out that way and dont let that precedent be passed. Well it happened and here we are. Noticeably most of the people defending it are gone now lol.
