While I'm nit trying to defend the very lackluster rewards by any means, using Trapper of as an example is somewhat unfair. He's one of the worst killers in the game, and a lot of the potential problems you described are more so bad killer design than anything. Trapper is simply just outdated and doesn't fit the current state of Dead by Daylight so he should never be used as a measure for any global mechanic when he is the problem in most situations.
Wraith cant re-cloak. Pig i assume cant crouch. Ghostface i assume cant go into his power. Myers cant stalk. Bubba cant break a pallet/wall with his saw. Hag cant set traps. Springtrap probably cant go into a door or summon their axe back.

SO in your opinion do u think their should be a giant dead zone just because 1 pallet get thrown ? because that not balanced what so ever back in the day like 4 years ago survivor had to learn pallet control so they wouldn't create dead zone for the next person that looped in said pallet thrown area now a day once 1 pallet get thrown it just free hit for the killer that just out right BORING TBH sure the fact it been gone on this long people get used to being given free hit and pressure all the time now it just dry's the game out making survivors a punching bag for the killer the game is about skill
Counterpoint do you think this should be a thing
Lets see. 1 2. 3 in the back next to shack. Shack itself. There's 1 beside me. There's obviously main building also right there with its own pallets. My grandmother could run for 5 gens with this. Even as a survivor player (50-50) I know this is pretty bad. Thats why I put it in the crotus feedback so hopefully they fix it. Survivor should be skillfull like you said. I like showing what I learned over the years with managing pallets perfectly. Not having 15 extra slapped around so my skill doesnt matter when you can just round twice and move onto the next over and over. It is handholding at least to me.
Another angle for whos curious with actual writing.
-
Yeah we go from finally base kicking meaning something and you can actually use different builds. To back to using the perks. Fun. Because now you just run pop or the like and nothings changed i guess. Gen regression as usual.

We could make this stream into a drinking game
1 shot when they use the word "soon"
2 shots for "I can't share that information"
3 shots for "we're monitoring the situation and/or player feedback"
4 shots for "It's on our backlog"
Chug a (root) beer if they announce the anti-tunnel & anti-slug they are working on
Jager bomb if new license teaser trailer
Drink an entire fifth if Pig gets nerfed
Pour some whiskey on rocks and sip throughout the entire conversation of how high MMR was the reason behind a specific nerf to unpopular killer
Any more?
I value my life more than to risk that lol.

In all fairness, it was a bug. It's a bug that's existed for a year and a half, maybe two years at this point, but I distinctly remember it not being a thing on his release. I feel like people have gotten used to it being there given how long it's existed but it was a bug. There's many instances where you can argue shadow nerf over bugfix - like Plague pointed out earlier in this thread - but I don't think this applies
In all fairness as well. A bug should not be left in for so long people get used to it being a part of the power i guess. That was the reason for the blight drama. He had a bug for so long that it basically became part of the killer itself. Then obviously when its removed a lot of people didnt like it. Quake kinda had this with rocket jumping which was not a intended mechanic. Then it went into tf2 as a offical thing. If a bug exists for so long the players get used to it then it should feel more like a nerf then a bugfix. Especially to those who main the character.
-
The same way plague being stunned by DS or head on deactivating her power was a "bug" NEVERMIND the fact she was in the game for what 4 years at that point. So take your pick i guess on whether that means the dev team is so slow that a fix like that takes 4 years to happen. Or they just dont label stuff in the right category.

Would you happen to have any screenshots you could share of this? I'd love to share these concrete examples with the team.

If you have any screenshots of these multiple filler loops chaining together, they would be incredibly helpful for us to bring back to the team.

Would you be able to share screenshots highlighting these god pallets? I can make sure these are flagged to the team!

Thanks for taking the time to share all of this! I'll be sure to go through this and include any relevant notes for the respective Realms.

Do you have any screenshots you'd be able to share of these particularly strong loops? I'd love to bring concrete examples back to the team.
Some 2v8 stuff right here lol. There's a pallet in the back as well leading into shack. And one behind me.

there are 4 times more survivor players then killer players… WHY THE HELL MAKE A ######### VOTE POOL
Because a lot of us survivors also play killers and can know when stuff is busted for the other side lol. I hope most people are 50/50 or close to it.
-
Hate this map in every way lol.
-
A decent change but as long as theres loops like cow tree itll probably be a bit too much.
-
Literally one of the only maps this was justified on.
-
Never cook again with this one lol
-
Yeah good thing they did it was worried they were gonna keep it with the issues before lol.
-
But does it truly break the game to warrant a killswitch? We know they said they'll normally only killswitch if something breaks stuff via crashes or the like. Thats why bugged streetwise and the like was allowed for so long. This one doesnt cause that kinda problem. So we will have to see.

Two Can Play would like a word.
Ironically I had a few games with it yesterday. At least it self replaces and has some funny synergy with endfury. I found myself getting instant downs in the blind on unsuspecting survivors. This perk even with a full build i had entire games which it did nothing. But possibly close lol.

Called out and obliterated lol

Nobody has gotten banned for changing perk icons! And yes the information shared in this thread is accurate, it's very much "use at your own risk", if you do get banned via EAC we would be unable to unban you.
Wish you guys at least did perk color changes as a option lol. For those who wanna change the colors around.
-
Why do you need 80 seconds of protection? When im actually tunneled im smacked way before that. Are you perhaps trying to use it for another purpose outside of that?
-
@Mr_K said:
Probably trying the achievement while it's still possible.
Isn't the new one easier because you can mori on the floor or standing up? By just having them death hook and you being t3?
-
No character probably has more counterplay through bugs and intended than he does. The banner. Tapping a window for one second. Getting closer to knight so they dissappear. Just running straight in most cases with a exhaustion perk. And just randomly the guards will get stuck and don't move at all.

Yeah even I dissagree with him on some other topics he has some valid points maps got buff and even those that didnt needed that like asylum, macmilian estate etc. which is still nerf to killer especialy weaker m1 killers with no good antiloop.
was gonna put this to because i tried some of these maps day one and they were ROUGH
-
Nah i think anyone like me still wants these changes but them to be done right without being abused. The idea and concept is good but they went to far for it. 2 punishments and 30 seconds of protection is crazy all at once.

Yeah? We should have more pallets. A lot of maps currently are terribly balanced and in most cases an automatic loss for survivors if the killer is half paying attention. I will say there's the possibility that there could be too many but as THE_Crazy_Hyena pointed out, most of these are not that safe and something any killer can play around.
Did ya even see the first 40 seconds they were literally all around shack which isnt a bad pallet on its own. And one had a pallet literally into another pallet lol. And not many of them seemed weak.

Uh, what pallet density? Maps like rotten field normally has like… what? Five maybe seven pallets and shack window now that harvesters are hard nerfed. Also you can run perks like enduring, brutal strength, spirit fury, etc if you are having trouble with pallets and have a power that has difficulty with them. Pro-tip, learning when to chase and where to chase are fundamental gameplay skills that you need to develop.
Heard you wanted pallets lol.

Are people ok? You can still tunnel. There's just some risk involved in it now. I feel like the playstyle of the person in question is exactly why these changes are needed.
From the amount of things ive seen covering this from reddit threads to videos to posts on here. Not a high chance a majority of it is gonna go through. Personally my problem is the 6 hook thing and the hook blocker. Killer can still proxy camp if they really wanna win making the blocker pointless. And it kinda incentivizes you to heal under hook which we all have learned has never been the play. And the 6 hook thing the amount of times I see people trigger it on accident by literally hooking 2 survivors between the 3 on the first survivor. And the fact that doesnt even make sense from a tunneling standpoint because if you are hooking 2 other people between how are you tunneling by nature? The killer incentives and the very long protection is fine though. I have no quarrels from them or the hooking the same survivor twice in a row so they die penalty. Hopefully they do this in a way that works for most people.
-
Yeah this makes no sense. They have reason to stay in the match now the game isnt over. Infact they are occupying the killers time by keeping them on them with their ability to get up now.

You dont have to be bad to want actual testing of the changes, lol. Testing it on the PTB is not really valuable, most people stay on the PTB for a few hours and thats it.
Ideally it should take a month or so to fully test those changes and their impacts. And you cannot achieve this on the PTB.
Yeah I get that im just worried of other times they've pushed stuff through despite feedback and left it for a while before fixing it like people asked originally. And the way the discord stream was formatted didn't give exactly a optimistic impression from bhvr either.
-
Tbf if the feedback is that bad people will still say "but we should try it on live the ptb isnt everything" then once it gets fully put in then its a bunch of work to remove or fix it. Thats my main worry on this scenario but we will see.

You can invalidate every change in DBD by just saying "or you play Trapper". I dont really see this as an argument.
While not to encourage that arguement being used to death of course. I wish this patch would have came with more for those killers. Because while people can say "you have a buffed kick base bbq and haste just leave the hook!" And we dont know the numbers. If its like 5% for 10 seconds and the kick is like 10% and the BBQ. It still makes no logical sense on a majority of maps to leave the area as a m1 or close to m1 killer (even pyramid head who was recently buffed and is considered a pretty good killer) because of just the pains of no mobility in a characters kit. And I doubt they plan to give every killer with no mobility a mobility button because that'd take ages and get boring quickly. So gotta hope these numbers are substantial or its gonna be a lot of pain for a lot of people who wanna play these less fortunate options. Because not everyone wants to be ghoul, blight, billy, or nurse.

so when are you going to start working on buffing killers perks and quit holding survivors hands? Since your so called war against hackers is a joke and you fail to address the real issue behind your game?

@Linkdouken said:
Surely you can reach him from the same drop down?
Ye but if you dont know about this its basically a free chase escape because I assume the killer drops down not looking or whatever then they have to go ALL the way around which the survivor gets away.
-
Seeing a lot of people talking about the stacking stuff and I agree that was already a thing. But I feel thats not the most busted and uncounterable part about it. The most uncounterable is the same we had with power struggle but with 1 less perk. You run conviction and soul guard and have 1 teammate nearby. Doesnt even need to be a friend just someone that forces the killer to not be able to pick up instantly because of the chance of a pallet save. The killer has 2 choices since you are on the pallet. Pick up and probably get guaranteed stunned and you get away. Or try to chase the survivor away, you get yourself up with conviction and soul guard and just run off. There's no real right answer for the killer here. They kinda lose lose. You can stack 4 get up stuff and yeah obviously thats gonna be strong. But this requires no investment really. Just a teammate and maybe soul guard. But if the killer moves away you can easily get up and drop the pallet without even needing Soul guard. So even that is not a necessity.
-
They for some reason cant fix the faster vault because they said they fixed it but didnt.
-
Vecna and dissolution. So your injured and you drop the pallet. You can run away but ill fly after you. You can leave it down but ill catch up anyway.
Billy and Superior anatomy or bamboozle. Its fun seeing a survivor vault a window for you to instantly follow them and prepare the saw.

Do you have even one example to back up this statement?
Tbf in my memory the only 3 times ive heard of any bans for exploits of bugs have been killer situations. There was original legion with the addons. The Bug with nurse where she could stack speed infinitely. And more recently was knight when he had the orb thing and could range grab. That is only in my memory ofc. I do recall there were some spots survivors could go into where they couldn't be picked up or hit. If bans resulted from that as well then fair play.
-
Yes killswitch pig over the obviously busted item blinding my screen for 12 seconds lol.

wasn’t he nerfed tho?
In the skillful department aka the purple bottles? Yes. In terms of just run you down with haste? Nope buffed.

I dont really like franklins but I do enjoy mangled/hemorrhage perks/addons. If we are talking about dealing with strong medkits. I have been having a good bit of success with leverage+mangled/hemorrhage addons or sloppy. It does force more investment from the survivor end and survivors stay injured for longer ive noticed with it. I recommend trying that out for medkits at least. Against other options not really sure right now.

Tbh I think you're overreacting on the Fog Vials. They'll be annoying for a couple of weeks until the novelty wears off. After that I doubt they'll be used much by anyone playing seriously.
I think they are speaking the "survivors make no sound in the fog area" against spirit survivors will always drop the vial and have a large area to work with nullifying the way spirit gets downs (phasing ontop of them)
-
Speed demon clown with the reverts is gonna be a nightmare.
-
Sadly springtraps power isnt the craziest to force survivors to use the doors as a risk. You can beat him very easily without using the doors at all. If there was more gameplay around the doors and using them it would be easier. Similar to how vecna can get the recover object achivement. And survivors can get the hold 2 legendary items and escape achivement. I think they need to add more to the doors.
-

Hillbilly’s add-ons are still pretty terrible even after getting a pass not too long ago. I only run two or three and even those I feel aren’t that good.
Some arent that good (talking tp you dissipation) but I feel like hes way further behind to some like nemi but fair lol.

@ThatRyanB said:
I can confirm that The Clown's purple bottles will have a stronger Hindered effect than they had on the PTB. This Hindered effect will be ever-so-slightly lower than it is on Live right now, and will be paired with a revert of the yellow bottle gas spread change to better strike a balance between the two bottle types.
Can we get any context on how you guys come to these conclusions on characters like clown or knight when they arent even near the top. Vs someone like vecna who already had a high killrate or pyramid head who was semi decent getting mostly buffs? Or characters like blight or kankei which still kinda rule the game in their current forms. Shouldnt flat buffs be the best approach for lower killers we kinda had this situation with alien as well. Especially knight who i thought already got a anti sandwich measure with the faster decay when being close to the guards over a year ago. Thanks!
