  • If dbd has been alive for 9 yers it is not because of casuals, casuals come and go, they pmay for two weeks when a nee license chapter is released and then go back to other games. The people dbd thrives of are whales that buy every new skin and are playing this 4+ hours daily. Casuals will buy chapters regardless and that is a big influx of money, however a player that will spend on chapters+skins+the rift is much more valuable to keep than one who will just spend his money every 3 months.

Also, all other asymetrical games went with this approach, and while their issues were varied, bhvr as incompetent as they can be understood something that those other game stufios could not: a game evolves, you cannot keep it casual when all the content around it is optimizing builds, how to dominate as killer/survivor, tierlists, winstreaks, etc ... Bhvr have been very keen on not going full comp because that would kill the game, but they know one of the big reason it is still alive its because their playerbase takes the game more seriously that what they intended for, and they have adapted to it.

TCM, VHS and Last year as many issues as they had, were boring, because there was not a competitive mindset, you pmayed for a week and there was no skill to refine, it got boring fast, and if there was the devs neutered or changed it because the game had to keep being casual.

If someone says windows is problematic, you just shouldn't believe that they know how to play the game well at all.

It is, but not for killer, I hate the perk, because my teamates will just follow the yellow paint and waste 4 pallets and still go down in 30 s. If they didnt got windows they will still go down but at least we still have pallets, windows literally makes my soloq experience worse.

I should clarify on what you hear to be honest. You'll still hear faint metal shifting, but his more noticeable stomping is absent and it sounds like a survivor moving. The audio is bugged in both POVs.

Surely it couldn't be port specific, could it? I'm on PS5 and it is consistent.

I am on PC and he is still loud, watched some streamers also on pc today, still loud, possibly platform specific then.

  • @Ghost_Face_Main said:

I forgot to mention this and it baffled me as well, because this fix happened during the time he was already bugged and it did nothing in retrospect. He is as of now still insanely quiet.

Idk, from the survivor POV he is still very loud, I played against one yesterday and I could hear the stomping, from killer pov it is quieter.

  • It was actually a fix, in the most recent patchnotes they mentioned they were louder than intended.

To be fair, since they turned his noise level down from "fighter aircraft" to "now the undetectable somewhat makes sense during Nightfall", the stealth potential increased dramatically.

Especially if you work on a gen inside a gym or something.

He is still a white lighthouse and his parts sound is high af, only excuse to get snesked up by a dredge is playing without audio or while blasting music.

  • Poor fella was playing without audio or listening to music and got jumpscared.

    i stealth dredge

fear what you cannot hear and be wary of what you cannot see for the lockers shall be your grave in the end and with me soon you shall be my friend

Kid named handle vibration disagrees hardly.

  • "I will be doing zero stealthing" my brother in christ you are playing dredge to begin with, stealth was never an option at all lmao. But yeah the pov is significantly better now.

  • Aint you the guy who said springtrap is better than krasue and he is lowkey op? Not gonna lie if you trully believe this I feel bad for you, if B tiers are so strong as you say it must be miserable to play against snything than isnt skull merchant or trapper.

Krasue with her nerfs is b tier at best. Springtrap clearly A tier with his versatility.

    This has to be trolling

  • @vol4r said:

We can see here how bad tuning the killer addons is.

Don't quote me on that, but I think they said before that they are nerfing addons that are overused. Probably without even considering the addons power.

Community overused bad addon, but the only one that was worth using? NERF IT

Tbf in the case of unknown they have made that addon almost completely badekit. So they understand its almost needed. However for some reason each time they buff one of his other addons they also nerf it, it makes no sense.

I know the build to gen rush yeah

It's for the chase, I want a build that will make the killer wants to slam his desk the same way I do ALMOST EVERY SINGLE GAME

    I'll try you build

Then use anything with sprint burst + vigil, it will make like 80% of the roster literally your personal jesters. It is still good against the good ones but not as game winning as against the subpar killers.

  • Unknown may be underwhelming but he doesnt need a scamper, he just needs some good quality of life changes and buffs, he is already fun.

    • I have the same problem with Dredge. I'm visually impaired, and playing against Dredge is a nightmare. But I don't think (and I'm not asking for) it to be modified. I think accessibility issues are only taken into account when playing Killer. In fact, (from what I understand), the fog vials were modified due to accessibility issues for Killers. It's a strange logic, anyway.

Not really, doctor got his whole jumpscare mechanic scrapped because of accessibility, same with clown bottles and the blurr effect. On that line of OP, unless you fully play with auras, if you are hard of hearing killer is also pretty bad because as a whole dbd relies a lot in audio cues. As such really the only way to make it fair for people who are hard of hearing would be overhauling a lot of game mechanics, like what they did with the visual terror radius.

"The killer is mostly fine but has a bunch of annoyances that should be removed" is how we got Krasue :D

Sure, lets see if we buffed springtrap could be counter safe loops? No not really, if we buffed springtrap would his movility be used in chase to catgh up instantly? Not at all, saying springtrap could be anywhere near krasue its either bait or just plain ignorance to the killers potential, which is not that high once you have played him a lot.

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

he's fine, just needs small buffs.

he's weaker than huntress at snowballing or getting quick downs, but he makes up for that with more versatile kit with no major weaknesses.

While I also think he only needs small buff he does have some major weaknesses.

His stealth is virtually useless, you can hear him a mile away thanks to his footsteps.

The teleport on doors is very easy to prerun, you will only surprise people who play with no audio or players with less than 10 hours.

His ears, they let people know where you are in semi tall loops,he cant mindgame.

Again his footsteps, it makes it impossible to mindgame with him if the survivor has audio, the same thing that happened to old dredge.

  • @radiantHero23 said:

The major difference between the two is, that Springtrap has better mobility while Huntress has more lethality. A fair trade imo.

Not really, because springtraps mobility can be prerrunned very easily, meaning perks like sprintburst absolutelly kill any value his mobility offers.

While huntress can counter prerunning by shooting long range shots, springtrap cannot do this.

Furthermore, now that people know the very obvious tell that he is using the tp, its very easy for players of any skill level (if they play with audio on) to prerun, so its not like there is a skillfloor to completely countering the mobility.

  • I think he only needs addons changes and a reduction of his footsteps volume.

As someone who plays him a lot I would propose:

    Make restaurant menu basekit.

Change telephone, that addon is legit worse than useless.

Make the cooldown after the axe throw lower, he feels very clunky.

And I think he would be a decent high B-low A tier killer.

  • People really think they should 4k when they are playing the harmless lmao.

I don’t know what your talking about, Skull merchant is easy af to play against

Its easy but not pleasant at all, she is horrible to verse and outplaying her is unrewarding and uninteresting. The only pleasant part of a skull merchant match is the endgame screen.

I never said Springtrap was bad. I just said he was kind of disappointing to me.

I find this funny because to me it was the extreme opposite. I was a huge huntress player, then became really good with slinger, fell in love with unknown and then to my surprise as a fnaf fan, springtrap was a proyectile killer with a high skill ceiling, I was drowned in hype.

I main him too, while he is by no means strong against good players, the amount of cool shots you can do is amazing, his skill ceiling is so high its insane, you can genuinly shut down jungle gyms in seconds if you are good enough.

Also I was glad he wasnt a stealth joke like gf or pig that can be looped until dbd 2 comes out.

The one I like is the dbdleague one but I dont remember if they needed verificarion.

  • Nah bro, sable will trigger chase, drop a god pallet and go down all in less than 30 seconds, promise.

Balancing ghis is impossible because finding survivors with same skill is very hard and not all of them can use shack the same in the match when palett is used so there will be always someone weaker who is worh to chase

Completely agree. Matchmaking isn't easy, nor is it going to be perfect.

And just to clarify, I'm not trying to say that every survivor will always be exactly the same skill level. That's unrealistic.

There will typically be players who are better in chase, better on certain maps, better against certain killers, or possibly just better equipped with perk loadouts simply due to RNG.

My point isn't that there is no weak link, it's that the killer has zero way to determine who that might be until they've actually tested all 4 survivors to see their skill level.

And if the killer is actually testing this, and has hooked everyone once, they aren't tunneling.

And for killers who just chase the first person they find to death, they aren't doing it "because they found the weak link", that's entirely a rationalization after the fact.

I usually bring this up because all roads lead to tunneling with this mindset: if the first chase was fast, then it's "wow, I found a weak survivor and can tunnel the weak link for the win", yet if the first chase isn't fast, then it's "I've invested to much time on this person (gens flew by), so I have to tunnel to recover the match and catch up".

Tunneling is never the wrong answer, and I find that to be problematic. At minimum, it's not a "strategy" at that point, since strategy implies that you would change tactics based on factors like how your opponent played, map, match RNG. If none of those factors play a role in any way, then this just becomes the "only play style you need"...

Which, coincidentally, is how many people argue they feel they need to (or feel forced to) play.

If I find a sable/meg that does down in less than 30 seconds I have found the weak link. You dont always have to check all 4 players to find who isnt aware of their surroundings. With this said, yes a lot of killers just tunnel from the get go and it actually is what makes them lose, however what some person said in the threat is true, if you are a good looper, you will not get tunnel or if you do it will guarantee the killer loses, how do you get better? By being chased, so if you are getting tunneled you can learn how to loop better each time.

But if the killer doesnt let you do that, join a ladder discord and practice, I promise a week playing ladder will make sure you are better than 95% of all your teamates and tunneling wont be an issue.

Busted lunge, busted power, 0 cooldowns, immune to flashlight saves in 3rd person. 0 weaknesses.

Krasue went live buffed from ptb without good players testing her.

But don't worry guys we heard your feedback and will actually take it very seriously this time. Famous last words from BHVR couple months ago.

I don't know why BHVR have the consultant program.

Good players did test her, comp players complained and said she was busted on ptb they were just not listened to.

Difference is I've played her in many matches. You make it out that I've never played a match and couldn't know. I have her adept and her power's achievement. If it's stupidly easy to hit a survivor then it shouldn't be my experience missing shots. Maybe some skill is involved.

If you want to complain about something productive, maybe why can she just fly up to a survivor and attack with little cooldown?

Bro if you are missing as krause when she has autoaim idk what to tell you buddy, might wanna stick to her or ghoul after the very deserved nerf happens to her, cuz you yourself are admitting to miss on a killer with autoaim. To that extend, krasue requires the same skill to hit her leech as ghoul does to get a leap, I mean technically having eyes and being sentient could be skill, and not missing the leech my 30 meters takes some skill I guess but really its something just one match will teach you.

  • Ah yes, disregard all evidence cuz I believe it isnt true. Lmao with that logic someone could say that twins is not a killer in the game because they havent face them yet. I really hope you are baiting/trolling.

  • I find this to not be true, I am a college student and on the summers I work a 9 to 5, I have consistently been able to use shards for all original chapters since skull merchant. Mind you I do not only play dbd, shard gain is not bad unless you want to purchase a lot of skins with them.

  • As someone who played a disgusting amount of unknown I tought I was cracked, but it turns out the game was playing for me, not playing krasue until at least a bit of skill expression is present.

  • @Mr_K said:

My experience, there's no auto aim, even with the splat. Had a survivor stand still and I hit the wall behind them, the splat completely missed going both left and right of the survivor.

There is objectively an autoaim. If you aim a a si gle spot and there is no survivor the recoil will go to a preset position. If a survivor approaches and you shoot the exact same way the proyectiles will go towards the survivor. Try it on a custom game with friends, saying there is no autoaim is a lie.

  • @brewingtea said:

Scott Jund or Otz or someone said, in a recent video, that it's not really viable alone. Too hard to hit the skillchecks consistently.

I knew I couldn't hit them, but it's nice to know that even top-level players can't do it, for the most part.

No offense but otz and scott are not top-level players. Ask the comp survivors for advice not people who while they play a lot are nowhere near the level of the likes of idk knightlight, xeno or the like.

  • Play comp or ladder, that way you can actually face good players.

"Probably because they take everything so seriously"

Not sure if you've ever watched Hardcore Survivor, but the difference between the killer main content creators and the survivor main content creators was interesting to observe lol Otz and Dowsey spent the whole time trying to get JRM and Ayrun to take it seriously. Then Hens took over from Dowsey later down the line and he was even more on edge, constantly going off at JRM and Ayrun. They were all playing survivor for those games, but it was no surprise to me that the players (Otz, Dowsey, Hens) most drawn to killer were assertive and competitive, while the ones drawn to survivor (JRM and Ayrun) just wanted to have fun lol it made for a very interesting dynamic

I mean if a survivor content creator loses they could still have looped well or saved their team so its interesting to watch. If a killer content creator just keeps losing its boring af to see and prob they have a dead channel, so on the entertaining aspect Id say there is a reason.

I think OP is new. Plus 1 kill and the other 3 on death hook isn’t a bad result imo. That's a 9 hook game.

Thats a loss on pubs, this is not a match where hooks can be a wincon. Tho yes its astounding for a myers it would be dishonest to think myers is good, like aside from ops issues myers is literally easy to dunk on by just looping and using basic comms.

  • @Mr_K said:

It could be you? No, not possible, it must be the killer thats bad.

Tbf OP sounds like he is not the best player, but myers IS dogwater against people who are actually good.

  • Hyperfocus and shoulder the burden are so funny because they argueable part of the strongest perks in the game, literally managing to turn a match around. The issue? They have a skill floor and that is enough to make it unusable by the average pub player.

Its like giving someone a gun in a fight but they dont know how to use it, to the point were when you actually use them well a killer might think you are cheating.

  • You already can, people always dc as soon as I will mori, this is like asking for visual tr you can already do it as soon as you are downed.

  • Idk, the most interesting matches I have watched are comp matches were the pmayers are actually good and trying to win. Seeing people stumble and just "have fun" is boring af.

Also, while there is no progression for winning, you vastly underestimate the fact that most people like to win when they play any game, no one likes to be a loser and thats good.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

The game isn't over for the killer when gates are powered. You can still secure kills in the end game.

The gane isnt over after bring slugged twice, you can still repair gens and escape. Its exatly the same grade of comparison.

  • Kid named locker

  • @Skitten56 said:

It was so disappointing to see what they planned for Myers. He was fun and unique for both sides, something that stood out in the game amidst the rest of the killers. Now he is basically a dash killer, which can also break pallets in power. How original BHVR.

I guess all those survivors who complained about Tombstone who didn't think about their position relative to the killer, didn't ever go into lockers during chase, and didn't just stay on a gen to waste his time in order to force a hook, are now going to get rewarded for it.

All Myers needed was Tombstone Piece (not Judith's) to get nerfed, and then get some basekit buffs that are disabled when using Tombstone. Maybe even give survivors a notification if Myers is using Tombstone add-on.

These changes from BHVR just destroy Myers' identity and how they will feel to play. I feel so bad for anyone who mains him. This is also why I hate it whenever they say they are going to adjust a killer, because you never know when they are going to do stuff like this. I find it hard to express just how disappointed I am to see these changes.

Myers is as unique as a sable player throwing the game. His power is literally haunted grounds, like he is the deffinition of an m1 killer with no power. And this rework only gives him tools to be better and turns his old lunge into the same stuff but with more interesting mechanics and higher mechanical skill needed. Literally all good unless you literally want to play a killer without power.

But hey if its really an issue you can play trapper without placing traps and equip exposed perks and coup, congratulations you are playing myers.

  • The killer bonus is literally nullified by lockers lmao

  • @ratcoffee said:

People who say that the flickering door panel when Springtrap teleports makes him bad make it hard for me to take killer complaints seriously, I'm sorry.

I don't think his TP is overpowered; there are more things than just bad and OP. IMO it's strong but fair, and the flickering panel is part of what makes it fair.

Let's make some comparisons. Freddy, Demogorgon, Onryo, Dredge, and Xenomorph all have abilities that let them teleport to discrete props. Freddy has big blood fountains when he teleports, Dredge has a subtle dark mist effect (the only comparably discreet teleport effect IMO), Xeno turrets make audio effects when she's tunneling, and the other two have global audio queues by default. Only Demo has undetectable after leaving a tunnel, and that's for 5 seconds compared to Springtrap's 20.

When dredge selescts a locker to tp the handles vibrate so you can prerun as son as he start teleporting to it, the darkness effect only happens if dredge is inside a locker for too long.

Also again springtrap has a global audio cue, idk why people tend to overlook it but it is there and its easy to notice.

That said however I do not thing springtrap is weak, all he really needs imo is a restaurant menu basekit and he is in a perfect spot.

    Several points: -

    • Footsteps are loud yes, but he is a ranged killer, footsteps only matter when you are in range to hear them. Also footsteps don't matter if you are going through doors, and considering they are all right next to the gens, sometimes less that 4m away, it's moot lost of teh time. Then there is also Glitchtrap, that is much quieter.
    • Easy to pre-run, despite no tell (unlees youre staring at door)? You're telling me all 3 survivors on gens come off and run once one player is hooked in case he comes through the door? That's great passive slowdown if true, and a non point if they don't. Do please tell me how you pre-run a character you mostly can't tell is coming or not.
    • 4.4 is faster than 3.8 if my maths is correct, not even counting STs teleport, so yes Springtrap has better map mobility than Ghost Face... I'm not sure why you even contest this point.
    • Cooldown is not that long for ST at all, and you can choose to be 4.6 whenever you like. It takes less than a second to recall your axe and inflicts no movement penalty doing so, just throw it and then walk around at 4.6, recall it when you need it.
    • There are plenty of perks he can take to be more potent in chase, such as Hex: Blood Favour and a general hex build, he is unironically solid with Bamboozle as again he can be 4.6 until he devides not to be, and I've seen people find success with the likes of Knockout to make running pallets much harder. His slow upon throwing is shortlived, and the need to dodge him requires a hard bank from survivor, that on Huntress is mitigated by the fact she is 4.4... ST is not 4.4, so he can use perks to effectively cut off loops paths, zone and walk people down. As I said not Unga Bunga good, but certainly a power you can build and adapt around.
    • Springtrap has some crazy trickshot potential with hit Axe arc and can score hits over tiles that other killers bar Pyramid Head simply cannot. You make a big point about Huntress and 4.4m/s, but Huntress players have had years to master her, and the Axes do both behave quite different. Springtrap has only been out a couple of months, we're not really comparing apples to apples here.

Not weak at all, is he Blight tier? No. Is he Spirit tier? Probably not. Is he Wesker/Unknown tier... starting to look about right. He's better than Huntress, I know that much, and last I checked, she wasn't exactly in Myers tier.

I am not on the side that believes springtrap is weak, however this is wrong, even if you are not looking at the pannel, there is a global audio occlusion when he uses the tp, so there is a tell and its very noticeable and you can prerun accordingly.

  • Easy, make the shapeshift NOT the main power, judt a little gimmick, it would be like nightfall, so you give them a good chase power and add a shapeshift gimmick.

That way once the good players know how not to get fooled the killer doesnt become useless.

1 2 3 4 … 33
