Honestly, its better if people stop complaining and just uninstall the game. (Or at least uninstall while you do it)
-
I love how theres this double standards for killer mains constantly. When survivors talk about balancing the killers say its a skill issue and survivors have to adjust and get better.
Yet when the survivors say its a skill issue and example streamers who have not had issues getting kills, the killers say no, they do it for a living so of course they are good, its not fair to compare you need to balance around the majority (average skill) and buff us. - do you not see the irony. Its a skill issue.

Yeah, and you forgot to mention it was right after the biggest gain they had in history as well. 53,34% in June.
That makes it worse lol.
-
If youre a killer and actually think the game is still survivor sided youre just bad. 'Git good'.
-
This is normal or actually pretty good for a huge amount of players. Hence the constant -1000+ player drop daily and -30% decrease in players compared to June (the biggest % drop in players in the past 3 years).
-
Its honestly such a mystery to me why people are reverting to DCing in a game more than usual. Geuinely, its a real thinker.

Killer main who only play one side think all survivor used the meta perks that got nerfed,I play both side only meta perk I use before the update was spinechill and BBQC.
but all killer who only play killer think all survivors are swf who used all the broken meta perks, why they bring up deadhard nerf every dam time but they don't bring up the speed boost they got and the hit with they weapon cool down buff or the 10% to gens and the buff to a lot of they gen defend perks they want to keep they buff because they can handle SWF better and they don't care about Solo.
people who play both roles understand this patch was good and bad all this patch did was push people into playing with friends or quitting.
btw dead hard I never used it before the update and I still don't use it
Totally agree.
Group of 6 uninstalled between last patch and this one. Only 2 including myself stayed to try it and its just crap. Maybe 1 escape per 8 games betwen the two of us. Well over 50% of the games was a hard tunnel or camp and tunnel strat. Biggest complaint, its not fun, the game doesnt feel like its a close game or nail biting.
I know lots of people think** the complaints are the same as when anything gets changed but my reality is 6 people i know who have loved the game for years have all uninstalled and none of them are even remotely interested in coming back anymore after giving it chance after chance again.
Theres a line for everyone, and i think the state of the game now has crossed it for a lot of people.
-
Im enjoying watching the biggest player count drop in 3 years. 30% down on last month, and every friend i know first hand uninstalled the game pre and post patch and havent been back after 1000s of hours. The game has become absolute garbage. People moaning on forums is nothing new and proves nothing, but watching friend irl torally give up and uninstall speaks more volumes to me.
The game only clings on because theres no alternarive but in its current state if a killer wants to tunnel or camp and is at least average skill youre gonna lose and more importantly have a boring game. - this is happening in a huge number of people's games, if not almost all of them for some people. - i can attest to that. Ive given up on it. I just enjoy coming to the forum to read the shits and bants eveyrone has popping off oblivious to whats gonna happen. 🤣
-
Do people really think that if youre not enjoying a game you have some responsibilty to stay in a game meant for leisure with total random strangers?
Nobody owes anyone anything in a game, least of all random people who you dont even know.
I have played with friends, and if theyre having an awful time and want to DC and take a penalty i totally understand and accept that because theyre friends. Who the hell am i to tell them to stay in what might be a miserable game for them!?
Stop blaming players and blame the game. Theres a reason why DCs are happening every match, and get over it, the constant DCs will turn to game uninstalls.

Camping is guaranteeing a kill while suicide on hook is giving up on the match, they are not the same thing.
Hit the nail on the head. If the killer is guaranteeing a kill, why wouldnt a survivor give up on the match to move on to another game. After all its a guaranteed death as u say. Exactly the problem with camping summed up.

People just need some time to adapt. Player count is also increasing. Which is a good sign. I´m confident, that in 1 or 2 weeks, people complain about the same stuff, they did before the patch.
Player count this month was the biggest drop in DBD history. The numbers arent climbing back up at all. Theyvre hovering and slowly decreasing. Down 30% on last month overall, and down 1/3rd on July last year.
Given that this patch was supposed to break up the meta and make the game new and fun again its awful figures.

This guy, that died on his last stream to a nurse is on a 150 win streak?
Yup! And survivor escape streaks usually include a hatch escape. Ayrun manages about 30 escapes - a huge majority with the hatch and a build made for escaping as the last survivor like wake up etc. So he can get the gate open when hatch is closed....

Its definitely not a conspiracy.
This update was also very much intended to increase killrates, so them going up is an expected result.
Not to mention that Survivors just lost one of the biggest crutches in DbD history, Dead Hard, which has caused a lot of players having to pretty much relearn chases almost from scratch. This too has a clear effect on the killrates.
IMO looking at killrates now / in the near future won't really show much. We need to wait for people to adapt to the pretty major changes that happened here, it is going to take a while.
It's only natural for the killrates to skyrocket all of a sudden right after the update dropped, it would be the exact same with escaperates if Survivors had received some major buffs. For the same reason the newest Killers killrate is also always inflated, because people haven't had the time to adapt to them yet - but after a while things will settle and we will see where the kill and escape rates are really at. And only then can we really look at them and say whether something is balanced or not.
DH users hardly have to relearn how to loop killers, they just have to do one less loop or be less greedy in most instances tbh. All the best DH users are good loopers.

I've played 5 games of no slowdown Clown since the update and survivors have yet to get the gens done. Haven't even touched Nurse yet. They balanced killer around sweaty SWF and gave solos absolutely nothing outside of watered down BT.
Nice to hear someone speaking at least mine and a friends reality of games. 1 escape out of 9 games, with tunneling and face camping in all but 1 game (not the escape) lol.

Thanks but I'll just wait for my swf buddies to call me if I'd like to play survivor, I won't play this garbage called solo queue, there are more games to play in this world that can help me chill after work.
Honestly SWF isnt any more fun. Play customs only if you want to actuskly have fun with friends.

I actually cant believe people are so up in the clouds they believe that people are playing killer because its 'bareable' now lol.....
People are playing because its easy and survivor is awful. Simple as.
Im still waiting to see how many people can screenshot survivors taking advantage of that amazing 40k bp limit lol.

Lies...what?
Yes, you were exaggerating.
Also - mate, I remember that Otzdarva video and...yeah. Glass houses and all that.
Also also - I think you mean 'stop assuming SWF is always top 1% teams', otherwise you are agreeing with me. But the issue is that, even in your example, the duo and the PUG have a substantial advantage compared to solos, if I recall - a 15% higher escape ratio. That's silly, and needed reigning in.
If people have the ability to put together a coordinated squad and queue up together with zero MMR adjustments to compensate, then the game will have to be balanced around this scenario. And since the devs have said that they aren't doing the 'SWFs get a higher MMR for matchmaking' thing, this is the alternative. We buff killers, see what the numbers look like and take it from there.
If SWFs escape more (15% you say) then they will have higher MMRs from their consistent escapes by roughly the same percentage.... so they would be matched accordingly. MMR doesnt and never has worked btw, ive been matched a couple times against otzdarva on his main like 8-10k hr account and im maybe slightly above average with my pc account only having about 500 hours....

Since the patch, I've played 50 games as survivor. I have lost all of them bar 4. Pre-patch, I never used DS, DH or Iron Will. Never used Sprint Burst or Adrenaline. My build has changed very little with the patch, having only swapped out Self-care and BT.
I played 9 with a friend, neither of us ever ran DH either, and we escaped 1 game. We have about 3k hours each over pc and console.
-
Actually i think people DCing then uninstalling the game is fine. And clearly the numbers say that. Down 30% player count for July, the biggest drop in players since the game was released.
Nobody has to stay hostage to a game they find ######### and nobody owes other players anything.
People with their heads in the clouds blaming the behaviour dont provide any solution, in fact they dont even acknowledge the problem.
Sure theres lots of people who rage quit like babies all the time- that doesnt explain the excess of it happening- its because if the poor state of play for a majority of players.
If someone hates the match or game that much let them rage quit, theres a penalty for that. Hell to be honest i hope they also uninstall the game. It's turned into garbage and deserves to fail after the constant fails by the developers in favour of releasing cash grab content with no meaningful QoL.
-
As a survivor there isnt one. Irony is they raise the BP cap to 40k. Screenshots below how many survivors hit that please?
-
DH wasnt even a game breaking perk. Sacrifices have always outnumbered escapes in this game by well over 50% so its never been balanced.
I would be more than happy with the killer buff patches if camping and tunneling was addressed. To me thats the real issue thats always ruined most games and with this patch its even worse on top of all the buffs.
If the buffs were in place and the camping and tunneling were mechanically addressed out the game then hell, it might even be ok to buff killer further- i dont know.
Ultimately the band aid of perks like off the record etc. Dont really help with anything but delaying the innetivable tunnel which is particularly bad with gen speed now.
Address camping and tunneling so it cant happen then balance around that and it would be fair and more importantly - FUN.
-
The funny part of watching the players who clearly main killer saying stuff like 'git good' or 'people have been saying the game will die every year *yawn*' are actually totally oblivious to the fact this time its different lol.
I know 6 friends who played hardcore for 3 to 4 years and only 2 of us are left and play maybe 1 or 2 games now every few days.
Totally agree that people crying on forums is one thing.... but i have seen 1st hand a lot of people actually saying theyre just bored and done with the game and its because its not fun to play the game anymore in its last state and even less so now!

Agree. If I consider camping and tunneling unfun, and not part of the killer's game to win the game, I may bring
Off the Record + Decisive Strike as anti-tunneling measures, along with Kinship + Kindred as anti-camping measures. That way, if the killer camps me, there's time for everybody to split and complete all gens.
None of these prevent tunneling or face camping, and barely make them any less effective. Especially against high mobility killers. They delay the inevitable kill marginally, and with a minimum extra 50s of gen time in game plus only a 3s DS stun theyre even less useful.
We have all seen the vids of just how useless DS is now against all killers let alone a nurse, blight or spirit, you might as well just jump in a locker without it and watch the animation of the killer pulling the survivor out the locker

Killer tunnels and kills one survivor quickly, for an easy 3 or 4k; this patch is completely broken and it disgusts me
This patch and the massive overall buffs to killer wouldnt bother me at all - IF they addressed meaningfully the camping and tunneling problem.
This game deserves to die! The devs are out of touch completely with what ruins the games fun and its not the perks. Its the playstyle of killers and toxicity on both sides.

@Alphasoul05 said:
Oh boy, let me give this a whirl.
The basekit BT was there mostly for newer players, or those who don't have access to perks like OTR/BT. If tunneling is still such a massive issue, put one of them on if you see nothing but tunneling every game. The basekit BT isn't there for you to have a very strong effect for free.
Gens are not too long, an extra 10 seconds per gen in the grand scheme of the game is not long at all. If you're going to complain, direct your complaints to specific gen regression perks or combos if you feel they're too strong.
10 seconds extra per gen doesnt sound like anything- BUT it is a lot more impactful when theres a survivor being camped on hook or if you are against a high mobility killer with pop who can interrupt your gen.

I did not state that anyone is quitting the game due to a perk, that is the hyperbole someone else stated and is thus completely irrelevant to my comment and your attempt to use that to discredit mine.
perhaps you should learn to read before insulting someone with a completely irrelevant statement.
Oh yea sorry my mistake- now it makes total sense. Cuz without DH extending a chase the other 3 survivors def cant do gens. Cant believe i couldnt figure it out. Sorry for trying to discredit.
-
Did this before the patch. Giving it a go now with the last 2 of us that are left from 6. The game deserves to die tbh, the devs are totally incompetant and have always been extremely out of touch with their playerbase listening to those who shout the most instead of at their core mechanics which encourage repetative boring gameplay.
Perks were never really the core issue on why players stay or leave. But poor RNG, map designs, fast gens and being camped or tunneled out do make people leave!
-
There literally doesnt need to be any conversations about camping or tunneling. People can argue for and against, valid startegy vs unfair.
The only hard fact that remains is it puts people off the game the more they see it, the gane is dying slowly and will continue to do so, its stale and boring and changing a bunch of perks isnt going to change anything about how people play.

You cannot compare the Pig camping a box to Bubba camping a hook.
The issue with Piggy was that she could use an addon, then AFK in front of a box - do nothing at all, and still get a kill. Bubba at least has to chase and hook survivors.
So he has to only do 1 chase and hook and effectively do the same...? Its not as bad but still the same sort of concept.
-
Regardless of people's opinions and feelings or bias, the game has never had a higher escape rate than kill rate. Just saying.

Yes they do, then wonder why they get destroyed so easily and have to come to the forums requesting Nurse gets nerfed.
I found when I was playing a lot I got quite sloppy due to most survivors being completely brain dead and having two tactics in their repertoire: Double backs and pressing E to outplay.
When I faced actual decent survivors I often got caught out as I just expected the usual one trick survivors and when I had to actually think I struggled.
Err, what is the outplay.
1. Block line of sight.
2. Use dead hard if youre running it.
3. Try to double back.
Half the maps you cant lose line of sight effectively so its gameover.

I mean... If I lost a game because dh for distance which is uncounterable kept adding more and more time.... wonder what would happen if those survivors didn't buy time because they pressed a button for distance.
Exhaustion as a whole should have never been added to the game cause it's basically a hand holding mechanic to where people don't have to actually get good and manage resources when they can just get distance to the strongest windows. But then it gets ridiculous on the good survivors where they can easily make a chase a minute long then add 30 seconds with a well times dh or 99'd sprint burst.
A handholding mechanic? You have limited resources (very limited on multiple maps) and all killers are faster. If no exhaustion perks existed in the game there would be no game.
OH and lets not forget bloodlust that can go up 3 tiers- handheld much? And its not even a perk.
Nerf killers all to huntress speed or same as a survivor and then get rid of exhaustion and bloodlust.
Otherwise use your brain and realise maybe an exhaustion perk which can be used max every 40 seconds isnt a bad trade off for the fact that killers are as basekit faster and have bloodlust as an in game mechanic.
There plenty of problems with the game- the majority being the maps and their RNG- we all know there are very survivor and very killer sided maps which we all sigh when we see loading in as either side- this shouldnt happen!
-
@Mandy said:
My personal opinion is that you have not done enough in the match to earn a pip - depipping is completely fine.
Yes being camped and your team mates not helping can suck, but that's generally considered to be part of the game and there are perks to help with that - Borrowed Time for example.
(and I'm speaking from a position where I get hard camped and mori'd a lot!)
So basically accept that there is a fair chance you can queue for 5+ mins for a game and may spend the same amount of time doing nothing but dying on hook.
Brilliant game design. If it happens 1 time, youre good, if it happened 3 or 4 times in a row and youre new you'd probably drop the game. And tbh thats not beyond the realms of possibility.
-
SWF with comms gives an advantage but i play as a 3 man or 4 man with varying hours/skill and map RNG and skill plays a MUCH bigger impact than just being a swf.
When we have 1 or 2 players with only 300-500 hours with the other 2 at about 3k each we die much more than we escape.
SWF tends to be very altruistic, you just have to be play to their weakness of often going for fast saves, flashlight saves and pallets etc. by baiting them.
-
Its just bad concept for a killer period. Legion isnt particularly strong. The mend action just tends to result in a tedious drawn out boring m1 game.
Playing against legion is just flat out boring.
The main counterplay is to split up which benefits the survivors more and makes it harder for the killer.
It becomes a game of constant mending with legion just respecting pallets to then once again m1 in frenzy with no real value other than to once again start mending simulator and continue the loop as a normal m1.
-
I think people mostly just hate her cuz with the right perks and on most maps its pretty hard to keep losing line of sight and misdirecting. Almost all maps are open or require you to be in the open at various points where all you've got is low obstacle loops which are useless.
Unless the nurse isnt very good and cant predict movement she is boring to go against.
The only thing which makes dbd fun is being in chases and using the environment to juke and mind game.
With nurse 80% of the environment might aswell not even be there because she ignores it.

*******Send a ticket*
I got mine a week or so ago when I sent a ticket with my player cloud ID etc. They took 24 hours to credit it after I got a reply saying they'd been sent! :)
-
I've personally had 2 cheaters in the past week. First one I managed to actually kill, they were really bad and were speed hacking. Second one i actually gave up, faced a wall cuz i couldn't kill anyone or catch anyone (didn't know they were cheating at this point) and as i'm waiting in EGC the survivor starts hooking and unhooking themself XD - I saved the footage and reported.
-
Every other hex provides a notification and is active on one totem instantly.
NOED activates only once the down occurs which puts survivors on a hook timer to try and find it, open a gate and inevitabily team up to try and save a face camped survivor.... although at this stage yes its just 1 hex totem to find, the fact it activates on end game and once the survivor is down (not when the totem activates) makes it hard to counter for most players in solo!- unless youre lucky and find it almost instantly.
The ask to get 5 totems done prior to end game is also out of proportion on balance to every other hex which has 1 totem showing from the start.
-
Maybe they could rework it so noed is only active when youre out of 32m range or something of a hooked survivor
-
Haha it sounds like a low quality audio file playing the background sound, almost tinny
-
Nah ive noticed it too. It sounds like low quality audio files almost like an electronic effect. Its a bug i think.
-
I got mine today. In fairness i opened a support ticket with my cloud ID and said im really sorry to message about it etc. And they said theyve sent me a message with the shards in game. This was yesterday and today they arrived.
I hadnt messaged as didnt want to bombard them, but if youre one of the stragglers then i think now would be a fair time to open a ticket and give your ID etc. Like i did. They were pretty quick and good about it.
As i said though it took about 24 hours from their reply to get the credit.
-
Its pretty simple. No one wants to have a game where you literally just do gens, or are just sat on a hook. You also have no chance to pip. Its boring, and youre working as a team so its in everyones interest to try and force the game to actually have some fun....
-
People argue its killer sided only at low to mid MMR. Fair point.
Then they argue its not killer sided at high MMR.
The arguement here as always is 'well otz is a pro' (i.e. the highest MMR).
So which is it, either otz at probably one of the highest MMR is proving that killer is viable and strong, or people who think theyre high MMR actually arent as good or as high as they think.
Stats wise the game at all levels and overall has never been an average 50/50 kills vs escapes so its pretty hard to argue that the game isnt overall a killer sided game in most circumstances (i.e. against solo queues or duos etc). Which is what most games are.
Killer is super frustrating against really good 4 man teams and there are times you get absolutely obliterated, especially if you play remotely 'nice' but thats generally not even 50% of the games.
I find it 10x easier to level and rank up killer and kill 3 or 4 survivors in most matches than playing survivor as a solo, duo or 3 or 4 man and trying to get more than 2 of us to escape....
I get the frustration though, i love playing killer but its way more stressful than playing survivor.
Both sides are frustrating for different reasons.

or you can just find a totem after all gens done, I'm not sure if it is that "unrealistic"... no different from cleansing a hex, you don't even have to do gens, and killer will likely to do camp or else pretty much letting everyone to escape.
You aren't even limited by EGC when NOED activates.
You are affected by the survivors hook timer though, so you are on a time limit. Its basically guarantees a kill or more for killers against 99% solo queues.
-
The problem with it is on some killers its a bit OP but not on all.
I find it pretty easy to keep it fairly constantly activated every 45s and the other problem is if 2 survivors are on a gen and only 1 lets go it still blocks the gen. It means youre both stuck to commit to a gen or leave it.
-
The cooldown is almost pointless atm as it is active during its cooldown so technically you can keep it going constantly if youre getting someone down and hooked close to that 45s mark.
The only issue other than that is that if 2 survivors are on a gen and only 1 lets go, it totally blocks the gen regardless meaning you're both forced to commit to the gen or give it up. One survivor cant go for a rescue or do anything while the other remains on it. I only just noticed this a couple games ago.
Its a good perk and shouldnt be nerfed into the ground but a 30s cooldown or something in between and sorting it so that it only procs when theres nobody touching the gen i think is fair. It would still have great value compared to thrilling tremors and deadlock etc.

Same here, no shards STILL. Checked both steam and epic login just incase :(

The sliding is literally intended by McLean (his literal creator) though. He explicitly has mentioned he wants Blight to be able to pick when to slam and slide.
If sliding was a feature then it would be built into his controls and his ability info - without being hidden behind people randomly finding ways to do it. Theres no controls programmed in to do it, its just an exploit. If someone can do it properly theres almost no escape against those blight players.
