  • The long and short of it all is MMR is great for the majority of the player base. There's been fairer matchmaking regardless of rainbow ranks in the scoreboard. The games have been closer for both killer and survivor.

The only people who don't like it are killers predominantly who have only just realised they've not had to sweat for such a long time. The longer you've not had to consistently sweat the longer it's going to take you to get a win/loss ratio which matches you against easy survivors!

I'm a red rank but about 1k hour survivor and killer and the games were 100% more fun and closer as both survivor and killer!

I feel bad for the top 1-5% players as they may have long waits but actually what's the point in playing against survivors or killers that turn it into a non-game. 0 chases that last and 0 fun!

  • Don't worry they'll soon be crying when they the MMR is back on permanently and they have to go against decent SWFs because of their inflated win/loss ratio 🤣

  • For MMR to have shown decent promise in 24 hours before it's even had time to actually level out players skills to match for once I'm quite impressed.

Yes for many killer matches it's going to feel like you're being outmatched because you've been playing potato teams and getting inflated ranks when really you should be matched with people with similar relative skill! Give it some time and then it should improve more and more!

I found the games 80-90% of the time in the 24 hours it was on much more fair and enjoyable as both killer and survivor!

  • I think the matchmaking was better. Ignoring the ranks I've been and played against yellow ranks were good and reds who were potatos! It just shows the system is matching on skill.

You need to give MMR time to put you against hard matches til you find your skill level. If you keep losing eventually you'll go up against fairer matches.

What's the point in playing as killer if you're just going to constantly get potato teams every 8/10 games and vice versa for survivor.

Unfortunately with the old rank system you go against people you think are fairly matched cuz they're red rank and they're actually not good, so yes I've had some games which are a lot more sweaty but for the most part I think it's been better and closer games as both killer and survivor!

  • I've found it fairer matched to skill level on both killer and survivor tbh

  • Ive found the MMR better in general on both survivor and killer!

Just to follow up on this, ''gen rushing'' is something that is akin to survivors letting teammates die so they can complete gens ASAP. If you don't have any pressure on the survivors and they get gens in 3-4 minutes, that's not gen rushing, you just played bad.

But most killer mains don't see this, they'll chase one guy for 2-3 minutes and then cry ''gen rush''.

    True!

  • Actually people are talking about entitlement and everyone is. If you want to DC then DC, if you want to die on first hook because you've had bad experiences against a certain killer then actually you ARE entitled to do that. Why should anyone sit in a game they know they won't enjoy - I wouldnt even do that at Christmas with my family playing monopoly so why would I with strangers on a random game....

If I'm playing as killer and someone DCs I usually let 1 or 2 people get some points and escape but if I'm playing as a survivor against a forever Freddy type build on soloQ - everytime I think ok let's give this a go it ends up exactly the same- boring, 2-3 gens done at best, 10-12k points for each survivor and a killer who gets 25k+. Sorry but if it's not fun, I'm not staying I'd rather go into another match, spirit or nurse even by far!

  • Kill ratio will be massive. Only the top 1% of ps players would be comparable to probably top 50% on pc for aim down sight killers

  • Totally agree with Zaytex and others. Really 'gen rushing' is almost a non concept. That's the main objective of survivors, if they're playing efficient they're gen rushing. It'd be like survivors complaining about killers getting a down and hook in 30 seconds of the game start and saying it's 'kill rushing'. Obviously both sides are going to do whatever their main objective is- what else are u both supposed to do? Stand there doing nothing?

Pressure the survivors off the gens and run regression perks, change targets if someone's good at looping or at a good area, hit and run with sloppy butcher if you think the chase will last too long!

  • Lmao, how is this ever a problem? I've never played a single game and even if I did by now it'd be 1 of 1000 matches....

If you nerfed the heal speed which they added so the perk actually had some (albeit minor) use, then by your logic need BBQ so it only works once per hook or something. - by the way I'm not advocating that... I'm just stating an equivelant.

I wish people would stop quoting it's 4 Vs 1. Its that number for a reason. Drop it to 3vs1 and your odds are almost 0 and drop it to 2vs1 and there is no game. The killer is faster and can remove players from the game for a reason!

  • It's a bit of a swine move to swap last second, but then again so is adding lightborn when you see a flashlight or Franklin's when you see lots of items. I've literally watched experienced streamers change their perks to counter which survivors would do if they could see the killer. So i can kinda understand why people might do the last second swap even though it's a bit scummy.

Tbf I rarely if ever see this happen though maybe 1 in 100 games that I'm in does a survivor swap out.

  • It's a pretty basic and well known concept that the game is harder in almost every way when playing on console. The skill cap to be good on console is massive compared with pc. Even on Max sensitivity to turn around and look at a killer takes so much longer than flicking the mouse back and forth. This then affects chases, juking, aiming (if you're killer with range).

If I have crossplay off the gameplay is much more evenly matched. Again, exception to the rules of course as there are some amazing console players but it's few and far between who have reached that cap.

I would gladly welcome a crossplay between console only option which I think they've floated based on surveys they've done.

  • You don't have 60 free seconds to do a gen. If you had the full 60 seconds without the killer getting to you to take you off then the DS was irrelevant.

You could just avoid grabbing them by lunge attacking at them....

It really doesn't change anything, I've only ever really been putting DS on since being red ranks when I've played multiple games where there's been no obsession so I would concur if there was just an obsession every game then I think you'd find a lot more people choosing not to even run DS which is even better than 'nerfing' or reworking it.

  • I agree, if in thousands of hours solo queue experience 90% of Freddy games at best end with survivors all making around 10k bp and just feeding the killer a 'fun' game and giving him lots of BP, why even bother. Even a good nurse and spirit are nowhere near as unenjoyable to go against. It's a lot easier to respect a decent nurse' skill ability than a Freddy. Everytime I try to give the match a chance again against Freddy it nearly always ends up exactly the same! Maybe with new matchmaking it'll be better as regardless of ranking the Freddy's getting 4ks constantly will get to face more SWF and rank 1s skill sets survivors!

  • I don't think it should be a hex perk since it could be cleansed easily before even getting any value, but maybe a change where it shows the aura only when you get each stack, i.e on each person's first hook when you get the stack.

  • As annoying and boring as that kind of game would be You could argue you're not doing your job as killer so if you can't hook someone within 5 minutes or a timer then maybe the killer should lose the game automatically, don't get me wrong I'm just playing devil's advocate but you can argue both sides are failing if one is doing no gens and the other is finding 0 out 4 survivors - immersed or not.

  • Finally someone else who has noticed since 4.5.0 the ps5 graphics have been reversed back to PS4. I've posted this and sent support ticket and they don't even acknowledge it.! Don't actually know why they released a ps5 version as currently no difference! I use the PS4 version on my ps5 as I've seen the matchmaking is poorer on ps5 version.

  • Yea when it was first out on PS5 the icons and screen resolution were about half the size. Since 4.5.0 it's back to the same as PS4, it's literally no different now...

  • And on a side note has anyone else on PS5 noticed that since the latest 4.5.0 patch onwards we went from 4k back to PS4 graphics.... Still not even acknowledged. I literally just load the PS4 version as it's no different visually anymore...

  • I'm quitting too, matchmaking is absolutely APPALLING. Every game without fail has been rank 1-3 (nearly all nurses weirdly I think cuz of the rift) with not even one red rank survivor in the solo queue team and more often than not there's been a mix of purple and green or yellow ranks.

It's one thing that with every single update the game breaks but even if the bugs were sorted, the core of the game is so shockingly developed. bHVR is on par with EA and battlefront 2 with how bad they are at releasing poorly tested updates.

Even on PS5 since the new 4.5.0 the PS5 version had its resolution scaled back to PS4 and even with posting it on the bugs and submitting a ticket they haven't even acknowledged it. But they acknowledged within 1 hour the nancy and Steve skin being unavailable to purchase- sums up they only really care about money with the quality of life of the game secondary to just keeping players in the game enough to keep it viable. Literally every next gen console player might aswell just be playing the PS4 version as there is no visible difference at all anymore.

Playing killer is alright queue wise ATM but survivor without friends is literally a waste of time, even 1/10 games where you feel you have a chance and can get something done would be borderline acceptable and fun but there hasn't been any games lately where it's been anything but frustrating and unproductive.

Really makes you wonder as a gaming community when/why we let developers get away with taking our money and providing shoddy products which aren't acceptable!

  • Playing video games is for fun. 99% of Freddy games on solo end up exactly the same. Giving copious BP to Freddy and getting practically nothing in return even if you prolong the game. No thanks. Get out and move on.

Feel free to stay in the game if you want.

  • Freddy is by far the worst to go against. A decent nurse or spirit is hard and annoying to try to counter but I find even a mediocre Freddy almost impossible if you're solo queue.

  • Even the basics are messed up. Playing the PS5 version now loads up the low Res old version PS4 version. I Literally choose the PS4 version on my ps5 to compare and it's exactly the same, double sized graphics and no 4k- so literally no point in playing the PS5 game version.

I don't understand how they can break the game so much with every patch and update.

What's funny is I reported it on bug reporting within 30 mins of the 4.5.0 update being out and the only thing they mark as acknowledged is the posts either side of mine saying the Steve or Nancy cosmetics are unavailable to buy. - could you get anymore blatant in showing what's important to them!!?

  • I'm on PS5 and having downloaded the patch my game is now running in PS4 resolution 🤦🏼‍♂️ double checked and I'm running ps5 version of the game from PS menu and restored licenses etc and it's still in crappy old resolution!

  • Depends how the killer is playing, if I'm gonna get no BP anyway then why stay. Quit and get on with a more fun game

  • I don't really see the problem with killers relying on bloodlust. The ones who do are generally not great at the game yet which means they end up giving up a minute or more for a chase if they're relying on getting to bloodlust 3.

Sure they eventually get the kill without real skill but at a massive penalty to time lost.

I don't really think getting downed by bloodlust is that big a problem in the overall game to need a fix. It's not perfect but neither are lots of things in the game!

  • I get there's mistakes but tight looping without running into the object being looped is very hard nigh impossible with controller on console. It's just how it is except for the most hardcore console players.

Get rid of bloodlust but then sort out matchmaking and give the option to crossplay different consoles only.

Everyone knows for the most part PC players have advantage over movement and aim against 99% console players so it's not comparable.

Based on the last survey I think they're looking at adding the ability to choose which platforms u can select for crossplay.

  • He is OP. He has very little counter play besides SWF.

He literally has no negative traits tbh. Instantly teleporting directly onto the objectives . Juking his teleports. No speed reduction. Non directional lullaby. Alarm clocks spawn furthest away from survivor as possible.

You basically have to be a really trash Freddy to not get a 3-4k against solos and only a mildly good green rank to get the 4k even against red ranks if not against swf.

How many abilities does 1 killer need.... The only people who can't see the comparative OPness of freddy are those who main him....

Every other killer has 1 strength or ability pretty much. Freddy- about 5.

  • I disagree that a 5 second stun from a DS is even remotely comparable even if all 4 players have it to being able to reduce hooks from 12 to just 4. Same goes for a key- not comparable.

Get rid of them both but DS isn't that game breaking imo.

  • My mate has been playing on playstation and we are now faced with a 30 minute penalty because he's had multiple DC's over the past day. His internet is fine and not causing the DC. I don't have an issue with the DC penalty if it could differentiate between people force quitting/rage quitting and genuine DCs through no fault.

Really frustrating as it also means as a duo we can't play together anymore so it affects multiple people often.

  • I was playing Claudette on PS4 and I've had this bug happen randomly while doing a gen or when about to do decisive strike.

Appears to be very random when it goes invisible but then it remains invisible the whole game with only the sound indicator.

This has happened very sporadically since I started playing around 6 weeks ago.

  • Tunnelling a bit hit and miss for me. I think it's kind of a fair play and hard to not do if that's the only survivor you have in reach.- for example I unintentionally end up tunnelling sometimes as killer as their team don't try to take the chase or the unhooked survivor has just not managed to make distance or hid nearby.

When it comes to face camping I would say every 5 games or so. I find it more killer dependant. Pretty much if it's Billy or especially leatherface almost 75% of the games with leather are face camp games or become that half way through.

I'm red rank 4 to purple 5 as survivor

  • Having played for a few weeks now, it definitely appears to me that killer gets harder as you play against better rank survivor teams whereas surviving gets generally easier playing against a better rank killer.

I only play as a duo/solo queue so I do make allowance that this makes it a bit harder and while I don't like the idea of using perk slots for kindred and bond etc. It's actually made a huge difference in at least ensuring no depip in red ranks as survivor.

As a survivor I genuinely think freddy is a total pain in the ass, he has so many powers and such good gen control through his teleport that as solo queues at least he's really tough and irritating.

Dunno about anyone else either but leatherface (at least in solo queues) I find almost as horrific ATM. Why even have an M1... He never uses it, literally only uses chainsaw which seems to last forever.

I don't know what the solution is, so I'm not trying to cry tears over him, but in my experience over the past few weeks he is one of the worst killers to go against because all he does is either face camp - meaning boring gen rush and 3 man escape with no real fun gameplay. Or pretty much risk everyone going down as he just chainsaws for so long with pretty much no penalty.

With SWF and Comms he is totally counterable and I've had a few solo queue games where by luck we all had BT and other good perks against him but overall he's just really stale due to his neverending 1 hit chainsaw.

Personally I think they should limit his turning angle or speed. It's faster, it 1 hits multiple survivors and has basically no restrictions on movement- why wouldn't you only ever use it!

Again, just my experience in solo/duo queue but interested if anyone else thinks *sigh* here we go again against every leatherface...

    🙌🏻

  • I was going to spend lots this event as a few of my friends recently took up the game! It's a shame :(

  • My gut feeling I said to my friend (both PS4 pro console players) that they released graphics reworks optimized for PC and the consoles can't run it. That's what it seems like.

Both running with SSD , rebuilt PS4 database after update and frame drops consistently making skill checks even hard.

Was looking forward to investing in the upcoming event but now I'm having to take a break as I'm unable to play! 😥

  • PS4 pro and running SSD , rebuilt database and same as the above video. It's exceptionally bad with frame drops almost every 2 seconds.

Same results for killer or survivor and regardless of what map.

It's currently unplayable, even some frames dropping for skill checks which is causing obvious problems trying to hit them!

What a shame right before the event! I'm gonna have to stop playing til there's a fix!

    🤬🤬

  • You lost the point as soon as you said you 4k'd them even after ALL their meta perks. Hard to feel any empathy.

I only solo and duo queue btw so Im not defending SWF running 4 man meta perks as I know that's a bit frustrating, but IMO, killers 4k probably at least 70/30 more than 4 survivers escape (in solo queues at least) so it's really hard to feel bad for you!
