They're decent, imo. Some of them could do with buffs (a revert of ruin to 200% normal regression springs to mind), some with reworks (third seal is broken at low levels and trivial at high levels)
imo a lot of complaints from killer players about hex perks come from either misunderstanding their point (i can't believe a high-risk high-reward perk has a high risk! it should be no-risk high-reward) or from exaggerating their downsides (i think you're exaggerating when you say your hex perks are "usually" cleansed within 30 seconds)
-
The top 3 hated killers are Trickster, Clown, and Skull Merchant. The top 3 liked killers are Billy, Demo and Oni. Among other decently highly enjoyed killers are Wesker, Blight and Huntress.
I'm curious whose tier list you're using to determine the power of those killers

Nah, everyone else here is right.
It was directed towards the survivors, "ez escape" since we didn't actually do anything. But this is often associated with toxicity and I should have thought of that.
Yeah now that I think about it, it's funny to say "ez" if you get stomped, not as much so if someone else ragequits. Idk what I was thinking

I am not a toxic player. You can ask anyone who has ever played with or against me. I don't tbag, flashlight click, nor insult anyone.
Though I understand this one was a bad call on my part. It was supposed to be a joke for the other two survivors "ez escape", you know? And it was! But if the killer had seen that, it definitely wouldn't have the intended effect.
That was a mistake, but it is also an isolated event. It never happens.
I thought it was a funny joke tbh

Ahh. Ok, I didn't quite get that. I thought they were asking, if it would be good to use a Styptic Agent in that way.
To be fair they should have put it in suggestions instead of general discussion I can see why you got confused
-
@Xernoton said:
It would, if it was actually possible.
While you are broken, you cannot heal yourself and the Styptic Agent can only be activated while healing with a med kit.
That's the point, OP is wondering what Styptic would be like if it were adjusted so you don't necessarily need to be healing, that there could be an activation button instead to instantly pop it

Wouldn't call myself a killer main, but I play a decent bit of killer and yeah killer does feel a bit too easy rn

I worked hard for my prestige levels and I want everyone to see them

There's a problem that makes the game not work if you try to play as the knight. To make it so people's games keep working, they made it to you can't play as knight right now, so your game doesn't stop working. when they find out why knight makes people's game stop working, they will fix the problem so people's games work with knight. This will happen in 2 or 3 weeks probably. After it happens, then you can play knight as much as you want
-
The best way to deal with cheaters is to take them out in ban waves of 4-6 months, that way the cheaters can't tell what it is that gave away they were cheating and they have no idea for the next workaround. I feel like fairly consistently BHVR waits slightly too long to do their ban waves (as often the complaints hit a breaking point weeks before they do their magic)
Certainly hoping they have a ban wave queued up and that they listen to this feedback and start doing cheating banwaves slightly more often

My brother in the entity, explain to me how an high skill ceiling competitive PvP game is a "casual game".
For someone accusing me of not having a frame or reference, is funny that you don't seem to know what a casual game is, or you won't be calling DbD one. Not that you need to (even if reading a little about game design theory would not hurt you), as I already explained exactly what a "party / casual game" is and why DbD is not one. But using your example, again: Fall Guys is a casual game because it has easy controls, a low skill entry point, and a low skill ceiling, like any casual / party game ever in existence for the last 30 years.
So yeah, DbD is a PvP game that "has a MMR system", you can maybe argue that it has easy controls (but then any FPS shooter would have, and if you had see any non gamer playing one like I have you would know that those people have a hard time pressing more than two buttons at the same time) but it definitely doesn't have either a low skill entry point, needing a lot of knowledge and game sense to be able to compete, and not a low skill ceiling as there is a lot of advanced techniques and mechanics to learn and dominate to be able to do good at the game.
In other words: It is an high skill competitive PvP game by the book definition of it, which is just the contrary of what a party / casual game is.
By the way, I not only have played most of the games in your list, but I was there when the difference between "casual" and "hardcore" gaming started to be made online, when you probably didn't even had a controller in your hands yet. Not that I like assuming things about people or that it really change anyone's points, but as you did the same to me is free game, I guess.
lmao
i wouldn't be caught dead thinking dbd is similar in competetiveness to counter strike or any other of those games, and that's speaking as someone who's featured in vods of comp matches for some of those games and some others i didn't mention, in videos uploaded before DBD was a twinkle in BHVR's eye
thinking DBD is comp by design instead of a casual game with some fraction of the player base being sweaty about it, with no reference point, is one thing; thinking that it's comp while having played actual comp games is just self seriousness and lack of self awareness

Funny that you don't see the contradiction in saying "It is a party game" continued with "Escape/kills highten your MMR".
This is a competitive PVP game with a ranked system, only that for some reason (a big part of the community that like you still want to believe it is a party game, if I had to bet) they hide our rank from us even if showing it would solve many things. In fact, it is so competitive that it doesn't even have an unranked "for fun" queue when other games made with E-Sports in mind have it.
I think is time for you people to realize that the only way to play this game as "a party game" is playing with other 4 people in a custom match, and for BHVR to show us our MMRs.
My brother in christ please take an extended break from the game, try out MK1, LoL, GG:Strive, Counter Strike, SF6, Starcraft 2, Apex Legends, Dota 2, and Valorant (just to get a decent cross sample), and then tell me again that DBD is a competitive game.
I genuinely hope that you have never played any genuinely competetive multiplayer games because the idea that DBD is anywhere close to as competetive as those games, for someone who understands what makes a game competetive, is frankly embarrassing. if you have no frame of reference however that's understandable. Please build that frame of reference
"But the game has a MMR system" yeah so does fall guys. That doesn't make it's competetive, that just means that it's a casual game that tries to prevent people who are casual (good) from playing against people who are casual (bad)

What happened here

BHVR should do an event that brings back all the old mechanics for a couple days so people can feel grateful and have some perspective. old gens, old med kits, old boons. complaints would evaporate after the event was over.
Heck, bring back the real nostalgia. Original BNP, old DH and DS. It's seemingly so easy to lose track of how good you have it

"there is little to no factors to take into accoount, if you simply take [all these factors for the survivor side only] into account survivors win every time"
-
honestly I don't think I even notice the illusory doctors anymore when I play so this would be cool and spice things up
-
Depends on a lot of factors, but in most cases it would be survivors who win in a hypothetical mistake-less game.
however no game is ever gonna be free of mistakes, so it's kind of a moot point
-
The globe icon also shows on Epic Store accounts, which allegedly are a huge source of cheats due to a keep-it-for-free weekend they had there once. For what it's worth
-
they want killer players to be able to protect their egos by letting them continue to pretend every loss was due to a SWF
look, for every ridiculous "devs only care about survivors" post i can come up with an equally ridiculous "devs only care about killers" post
you're not even wrong that we should be able to see SWFs in end game, but your reasoning for why we can't is silly
-
I don't see how the system "encourages" proxy camping any more than no AFC system does
That said I've seen enough instances where the camping meter should be going up but isn't, to the point where I think maybe we start talking about slightly modifying falloff so being at short-to-mid range with nobody nearby is more immediately punishing

As survivor, if I escape then I've won.
As killer:
0k or 1k - defeat
2k - tie
3k or 4k - victory
This is what IDV very explicitly uses as its metric for wins and honestly i think for general-purpose gameplay this is the best way of measuring it

Hmm, I'm not sure if an entity kill counts as a kill for the killer for the purposes of MMR. Now I'm curious!
according to the wiki anything other than a survivor escape counts as a kill for MMR
-
hitting the great skill checks increases the strength of the "pushing the killer around as you wiggle" effect
the wiggle progress bar stays around for a little after the hook has already started. if it looks like you should have wiggled, it's probably because the killer hooked half a second before it filled

You can make the same argument against survivors. Tunneling is worse than ever because gen regression was nerfed into oblivion.
Tunneling is just as bad as it was during gen kick eruption meta. in fact tunneling was so bad during the eruption regression meta that around that time they had to rework pain res so it only worked on each survivor once, to discourage tunneling. it's just that regression was so oppressive that people complained about that far more than they did about tunneling

If I have 20 different characters that each have 10 Flashlights each, if the Inventories were shared across characters, all of my items can be used on any character.
Because of this, I have no incentive to use a different character other than the ones I enjoy, because the items are shared across all inventories.
Why would I have 10 flashlights on 20 different characters when I could have all 200 on the survivor I'm trying to p100
Most people already favor 1 survivor and have more than enough stuff on them, I would argue that sharing inventory would let survivor players branch out more, feel comfortable playing survivors they only have 1 prestige in because they have access to the glut of stuff on their main

Nemmy infection is instant on hit
Like yeah the killer needs buffs but you can't deny the infection part of his power is instantly available the second it hits and doesn't take constantly puking on someone or chasing them for a full minute to actually have its effect

ok but consider: if you're trying to win a game as quickly as possible as killer, which are you going to sign into: the game mode for competetive hardcore sweaty players, or casual mode?
-
If you stalk them as they round a corner into a jungle gym you get some aura reading so you'll know if they keep running or double back. It's like a vanity mirror that lets you keep the ability to go Tier 3. Honestly not that great but not completely useless

It depends, I will sometimes slug for the 4k simply because if 2 survivors are right there it is much faster than doing a hatch dance.
I mean that's fair, if you know where the last survivor I can't blame you for not chasing. I was making a joke more aimed at killers who slug despite clearly not knowing where the last survivor is

Or you could soak up your pride and just go next.
Killer slugs survivor when game is over, wasting 2 survivor's time: I sleep
Survivor crawls around edge map, wasting 1 killer's time: "soak up (???) your pride and go next"
-
@Theo_Urista said:
that does sound like a solid solution however one problem, say if a killer manges to slug everyone and hooked them all less than 3 minutes in and none of them are able to have a chance to 4% off hook.
How about this: You can't 4% in the first 6 minutes, but the number of dead, dying or hooked survivors decreases this by 1 minute per each. So if there are 4 slugs, at 2 minutes you can try for the hail mary, but if you're the only one on hook you gotta wait until 5 minutes before tapping out
-
you say "promote unhooking near the killer", I say "allow unhooking even if near the killer is the only type of unhook that is possible"

nobody cares
Wrong. The fact that killers slug for the 4k is literally proof they want the 4k.
generally less than you'd get for the time saved
Not after factoring for expensive and rare addons. Every match costs bloodpoints due to addons, so it's ideal to maximize bloodpoints gained. Bloodpoint offerrings could also make it worthwhile to farm more points.
generally not enough to change your pip
It could since if you slug the entire team early on, you generally don't get many emblem points.
nobody cares also i never get teabagged when i play killer so you're wrong
What? There are complaints about teabagging on a weekly basis. Searching for teabagging on this forum yields 7200 results.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3610281#Comment_3610281
Survivors almost never just leave when they already won. They wait for the killer to come, throw in some teabags, and make the killer watch them leave. In an ideal world, survivors would just leave when they already won, but they have to BM, so I gotta slug.
When survivors wait at the gate for me it's generally to drop their item as a gift for me, or to get a few healing BP and make sure their friends get to the gate as well, same as when I play. Occasionally I'll get teabaggers on my team but that's very rare.
At this point I have to assume there's some factor driving the differences in our experiences

Slugging increases the odds of getting a 4k, which gives more bloodpoints, emblem points, and prevents teabagging at the hatch or exit gate, which that last survivor will probably do.

I mean, if you want the game balanced around survivors sitting on a deadzone Gen that forced to getting a free hit.
The year is 20xx. The last 4 survivor players are choosing between a 105% for 2 seconds sprint burst and a 110% for 1.5 seconds lithe. the 8 required generators take 10 minutes each. toolboxes can reduce this by a maximum of 3 seconds with ideal addons. the killer meta includes a perk that permanently exposes all survivors and shows their auras. somewhere, a killer player is calling the game survivor sided because the survivors finished a whole generator before getting the 4k.
-
@adsads123123123123 said:
If all survivors are slugged and no one has recovery perks, why do survivors prefer hiding and bleeding out rather than just going afk so crows appear for the killer to find them? They're dead either way. Letting the killer hook them just saves them time and effort.
Hmm, let's see. We could try rephrasing this to explain the mindset of why people do that.
"If killer has a down and no survivors are near by, why do killers prefer slugging and searching for the last survivor rather than hooking and letting the game close out? They won either way. Hooking instead of slugging saves time and effort"
You may disagree, but a lot of survivors who do that probably think they've been wronged by being slugged and thus crawling off and hiding is getting one back against killers who do that
-
What do you mean "tunneling generators"
-
Yeah, game immersion is not really a thing past the first couple of hours. Maybe BHVR was hoping they could maintain it but it's just not gonna happen. They should face the music and add crosshair options base kit

It is as much tactic as showing your opponent middle finger during the chess match.
Tbagging is a BM, and the reason why people do it is the same as other BM - they want to make you feel bad. In particular, people do it at the exit gate because they feel like just winning is not enough and you deserve extra humiliation for playing killer they don't like/playing in the way they don't like/playing not well enough.
And yes, by saying that killers deserve to be teabagged for tunneling you are showing you are no better than other tbaggers, so you might just ask yourself.
You can get DQed from a chess match for being disruptive and flipping people off. Like I get what you're trying to say here but BM as a strategy is very much not allowed in many games

No, it doesn't. The perks are overpowered (as mentioned by everyone here) and if I don't tunnel, I'm only going to suffer more. It's a lose lose situation for me. I don't like tunneling, but here I'm forced to if I want to enjoy the game. You don't need to run those two perks to enjoy the game neither. I'm not the only one that dislikes this so remove the 'I' and replace it with 'we'. You still haven't provided any justification for it by the way, but keep pointing out that people dislike it because that's very productive.
I haven't provided any justification for it because, for the second time, I agree with you that the combo is overpowered, I just disagree with you on the degree to which it is overpowered and I disagree with many of the assertions you have made in describing why it is overpowered.
