Thank you. I wonder if that would clog the system still. 🤔 Either way, it's worth testing out more.
I don't think it would risk clogging system as SWF still have to go directly to survivor lobby and cant play as you wait so it would only be solo players switching more often and only if they want to.
The only thing I think it risks is making people who play only killer have slightly longer que times (like maybe by a min) but I think that risk outweighs what play as you wait brings to the game. -
@UnicornMedal said:
How exactly does Play As You Wait work? They say it holds your place in the queue, but what if a trial takes longer to complete than it does to match? I'm curious because on one hand, keeping it a permanent fixture could help the issue of Survivor being harder to fill, but if it pauses the queue then it might have the opposite effect of creating dead lobbies that players evade.
When you que as killer you can switch to survivor que, ready up and play a match
When you finish survivor match you will be put into killer que again with a "priority que" tag, from there you can choice to play another survivor match or play your killer match, even if the time in que says 0 seconds you can switch to survivor if you wanted.
From my experience it still takes a 30 seconds to min to find lobby when it says 0 seconds so I assume it just puts you at top of que, not saving a lobby for you and making survivors wait. If you dodge a lobby you loose your priority matchmaking currently (game warns you if you go to leave killer lobby) -

Ive had performance issues as well, not to the extent you're describing but still
whole patch is a mess really
I figured out for me it was Wallpaper engine of all things causing the issue if discord was the program on second screen. all tho still blame dbd as wallpaper engine don't do that odd interaction with discord on any other game.

What would you consider the best use of the perk be then? 3 gen was my guess on what the Devs made the perk for.
putting tin foil hat on, my theory is the perk was not going to be that bad, but due to the fast track change controversy they slapped a huge debuff on it because they cant change the effect due to community vote but knew if it didn't have a debuff they would get complaints like during the fast track situation.

Please stop healing under hook unless you have resurgence or we’ll make it, you’re just asking to get caught healing and either give the killer a bunch of pressure or the easiest tunnel of his life.
Run away from the hook and then heal please 🙏
I've been running well make it just to make healing at hook more viable. I do think soloq survivors need to get better at just walking away from the hook a short distance then taking the heal.
In my experience if the killer is not right near the hook but is clearly a killer who enjoys going back to hook, walking away and keeping out of LOS is best. I've saved tunnel outs/ avoided being tunneled out just by walking away from the hook with unhooker and getting healed because killer has to guess where you guys what direction yous went. -

If you see the totem light up, you know which totem it is. It's that simple. If it started lit, and you see a lit totem and also see the debuff, you have no clue whether this is the totem for the perk you know the killer has, or one of the dozen or so other hexes that could be in play.
In other words, it provides information that the survivors should NOT have access to.
We have other perks that also light up after certain conditions so I just don't see the issue with this new one. Wretched Fate, Crowed Control, Nothing But Misery, Hive Mind also don't ignite at start of match.
I think it would be much weaker if it lit at start of trail as survivors would cleanse right at the start, but honestly most matches its basically gonna spawn at start of match due to sprint burst. -
@kisfenkin said:
The hex from Under Your Thumb will be broken immediately. Survivors load, run to the first gen, oh, that hex just lit up I better break it. Change this to make it a lit totem at the start. Having a dull totem light up will be like handing survivors information they shouldn't have.
Steadfast being a boon and providing a negative 50% speed to gens in the area is going to become the biggest sandbag perk solo queue could get. It needs to be changed. My idea to change it - Make it be only on the player using it, not a boon, and make it have limited charges that are gained the first time you boon a totem. First time you boon a totem (obviously you'd need a separate boon), get ~5 charges that provide 1% permanent progress each, every time you get a great skill check. Now it won't be entirely garbage in solo queue, but it also won't be completely overpowered in synergized SWF builds like it will be if it goes live the way it is.
The rest seem fine.
Out of curiosity what information would Under Your Thumb give to survivors that they would not have if it was lit at start of match?
Survivors can see that their haste is being effected so will know that perk is in play regardless of when it lights itself. -
@Rokku_Rorru said:
Yeah I'd much rather Steadfast acted like a barrier to a regression or lock event then consumes the boon or something. Even if it had tokens or the like as well, anything is better than this.
Ooh that sounds like a fun one!
-
The game turns back into a horror game for me when the killer has a no terror radius build on indoor maps 😂
-
Steadfast I do not like at all, Someone else on my team can force me to do the gens massively slower and there does not seem to be some way to be like "hey I don't want that" is bad. Maybe they could tone down how slow the gen goes but then I feel like people would complain about it like fast track.
I don't know why It has to have such a massive downside.
they should just rename Steadfast to Sandbag
Edit: If they want to go this way with perks, soloq communication is needed same update. I have no way in solo q to tell someone not to use this perk outside of checking there perks and following them and shaking my head at them. -
When It comes to a killer meta I notice a odd thing at least in my games, People who are playing weaker killers are running non meta sort of builds, If they do have a slow down its only one.
Meanwhile versing a ghoul or blight its almost certain they will be running multiple slow down perks. Sadly they are some of the more common killer. Nurse I find its 50/50 between her running aura / slow down. or she's flexing and just running one or no perks.
Its just amusing its most likely to have a weaker killer not running slow down vs hyper mobility killer who stack it. -
@SkeletalElite said:
I think for the most part anticamp is in a good place after the update that made it visible to team and made the rate it scales increase if the killer continues to camp.
I only think it needs changes with how it handles height and perhaps specific killer interactions. Right now it scales height so being on a different level counts as further than your true distance to avoid being considered camping when on a different floor, but the downside is this is abusable with hooks that have different elevation like hill hooks. I think if the distance used some kind of "pathing distance" instead that would be good.
Specific killer interactions could also be nice. For example huntress can stare at a hook with a hatchet out and camp from far away so maybe have an interaction where having a hatchet raised increases the distance that is considered camping.
Line of sight sounds like a good change for ranged / mobility Killers who are able to just look at hook at distance and pressure it (Huntress, Slinger holding power up) and killers who can go back in two seconds (Billy, Blight, Ghoul, Henery in underground mode)
Side note but I've seen a lot of Henerys hide outside of the anti camp radius in the unground form and then zoom back to the hook and if they where in clock mode takes health state from unhooker and takes endurance from the unhooked -
I don't like the new Nurse Rift skin sound either,
It don't make me sick it just sounds off/ not correct compared to a normal sound que for nurse blinks. -
I agree been loving the mode / Feature.
have also made the community feel closer in my case. multiple matches where someone I just versed is now on my team the next match and vica versa. -
@Leon_van_Straken said:
I would prefer DS to activated twice, because it should be an Anti Tunnel Perk.
Right now it feels like a "Oh he used DS now I can tunnel him out" card.
Honestly sounds like the best change for the perk.
-
In regards to the first section, Is it SWF people doing it? Region based?
I play mostly Soloq Survivor in Oceania region and Giving up and dcing people will do, but its defiantly not the majority of matches (if I had to give a percentage I would say 20-25% of the time someone will dc on either side. more or less depending on the killer.) and I feel like killer and survivor dc is around the same rate for me when you account for the number of survivors v killer.
When I do play killer (Play Billy, been playing more since map weighting was removed) will def see dcs especially see it getting a really early down with lethal but it honestly does not effect my experience in the match. ( Cheaters and bugs you mentioned effect experience of my match way more )
I just see it as "oh we can be more chill this game about Macro play and just try fun chainsaw shots in chase"
I may see it less because I only play Billy nowadays and he is a well loved killer, vs a Ghoul who I'm sure will see more dcs.
The talking ######### in egc I agree people should not be able to just yell at people in end game chat and that should be delt with
But in the example given, If he was giving up from the start if you killed him normally via hooking instead of bleedout he would of started to get hit with go next prevention, bleeding them out lets them avoid penalties. same if you slug them multiple times, they get abandon which allows them to avoid penalties. -
Sadly I think changes are unlikely Because he cant be brought anymore.
Unless they change something that makes him brokenly busted forcing them to make changes. -
Is it the sort of lag that has them stand still for longer then usual then like jolt out of the animation to avoid the flash/ pallet? Its hard to tell without video if it would be reportable but lag switching is reportable.

They nerf 1 clearly overtuned survivor perk and some people are hysterical, meanwhile survivors just got another brand new base kit feature to see your teammates perks and people are still complaining that the devs only listen to killers? This is absurd.
How many years did it take to get that minor feature added to the game compared to how fast Fast-track was changed?
-
I assumed voicelines where removed due to license being removed.
-
Just had my first one of the update, glad it at least kept my killer que a priority.
game so bugged this update so many minor things. -
Billy is fine. This is coming from a surviour main. He is fun to play as is my favroute killer to verse.

kaneki was always intended to have weskers "quality of life" feature to prevent survivors cheesing them by revaulting. it got bugged and survivors suddenly could start doing it, which they did fix wgatvwas always supposed to work and it caused a psychotic meltdown so bhvr just got rid of it and called it a day.
I'm not upset about it, because honestly I don't care I never bothered with that or the greasy kidnap tech. getting rid of those 2 things were huge significant nerfs but they didn't impact the average low skill ghoul like myself so I almost feel like I got away with robbery.
the communication around this was very confusing. but in the end all's well because ghoul is way better now. now the only killer that matches launch Kaneki for frustration is the Slugularity
People only had a meltdown over it because less the a month before the community manger said "some people don't seem to understand the counterplay eg revault" then the next ptb they removed it under bug fix. I don't think it would of gotten nerf if that was not said making a contradiction on what the counterplay is meant to be.
He is in a better state but will never be fun to verse or good for the game with a free hit that animation locks. -
Ive been playing more killer matches because of how good it transitions between killer and survivors ques. super easy to play two or three survivor matches then have a fun killer match
-
Because Ghoul is the new special child of dbd, tiptoe around any changes and take months to do them.
ghoul lock on free skill-less hit? Yeah that's fine mate.
I also think people forgot the only reason he was NERFED is because they tried to BUFF him hidden as a "bug fix" and completely contradicted themselves not even a month after stating the counterplay was the revault -
looks way better !

What about Skull Merchant?
Or release Kaneki?
Or old Eruption?
Or thanatophobia, ruin, facecamping with bubba, off-the-hook downs, gen kick limits, the call of brine/overcharge combo, ultimate weapon, STBFL's M2 change…
There's more than those but I hope I'm making a point here. Unbalanced things deserve to be complained about. If TBTC is broken, it should be tuned. That said, I don't think TBTC is broken because it requires LoS and the regression isn't that much.Killlers had a spree last year with getting things they dont like getting nerfed or just straight up removed. Most recently killers have been the vocal side that's been able to get things changed / canned based on just complaining.
Side note but ken is horrible example of survivors complaining and something getting it nerfed bhvr dug their heels in for months with that killer to do even minor changes and he still needs them.
I don't think TBTC is broken but I also don't think fast track was to the extent people where complaining about it. I have honestly not seen a match in pubs where fast track is this insanely broken perk like people make it out to be.
"guys fast track made me loose the game"
-shows match with 4 BNP toolboxes or multiple deja vu which would of effected gens way more-
or all the short content of "Fast track is so op guys" meanwhile its always clip where killer is not even trying and they are doing it for the clip OR clearly other gen perks are doing the heavy lifting. -
-adds to list of things killers got nerfed because of instead of accepcting the perk, they went and had a big whinge about it-
Boy I love the community 🥴 maybe surviours should go whinge about turn back the clock. No new shiny things for killers either.
-
Toughen Up being number 1 is so deserved its such a odd and confusing perk.
1. Be 24 meters from another survivor
2. Have another survivor stun or blind the killerReward? Your scratch marks and blood are hidden for 30 seconds. the person not in chase. it seems backwards I would rather give the other person that effect.

I'm gonna say that's more them just doing the simplest thing to keep a character in a skirt decent, and not prudishness.
The gore thing is a bit odd, but then we have Mori's like Krasue's and I think it's more a resources thing. Mutilating character models is a lot more work than having them spray particle effects. This ^ "Killer" gets censored so much. and I've even seen "Rancor" get censored before when trying to refer to perk in chat.
-
Noo they didn't add the quests and perks to same screen. someone recommended that in a post during PTB because there is so much screen space not being used I don't think they need to be sperate tabs and will cause people to be on the screen longer.
@ShellaSunshine said:
Great idea to have perks shown in game BUT I don't like how player's perks and quests are on separate tabs. Both needs to be on the same page to avoid wasting time (on both sides) while the other players are doing objectives.
Keep Quests on the left and move the player info to the right and that would help everyone out instead of going AFK and having to click a separate tab in case you forgot what Quests you have pinned. MS Paint picture attached for clarity!
There's a lot of space here that can be utilized to keep it clean, simple, and concise without extra effort or wasting precious time in game!

When I do matchmaking there seems to be more killers then survivors ratio wise.
Surviour matches in a minutiae, a lot of the time less then a min. unless im playing like 11pm-7am then its a bit longer.
When I que for killer im waiting 3-5 min a lot of the time. maybe because I play that role less but still longer.
Also in regards to crashing, if pc try driver updates? I play a lot and have a fairly low range pc and the game just full crashing is extremely rare happing like once every few months and tends to be because I'm not updating driver.
In regards to jittering in matches I do notice that sometimes but on the survivor side. you'll snap back or not move forward correctly even when your ping is fine so I don't think that issue is specific to the killer role. -
Its like that because if it wasn't it would just nerf Soloq while not effecting SWF at alll.
In example of phead cages SWF can just say where they are on the map vs soloq with no communication. -

Share your kill rate with him
Why would I play him in pub lobbies and force other survivors to verse him even more.
-
I like how we are debating if the survivors have a skill issue meanwhile ghouls first hit takes absolutely zero skill.
(and before I see legion comparisons I can play pallet chicken with legion, I can attempt to whiff legion)
Ghoul is the most Unfun killer in this game. Free no skill lock on hit where you are animation locked in a horrible looking animation so a anime dude can weeb scream in my face. legit remove that and I wont complain about him again I hate that part of his kit and wanted that part of his kit removed/ changed since the killer has been released.A good hand full of survivor players have stated that Ghoul is not difficult to go against. Especially the average Ghoul who hasn't even mastered his mobility at all. Easy to loop and take advantage of in chase. This is only true because people who struggle with the other killers are drawn to ghoul because hes easy. Not OP but too easy to play compared to Nurse and Blight who are harder to master, so of course a lot of players who play him are going to be below average.
-
I am a big advocate of having a comm wheel with pre made messages that they can send to each other.
I do understand argument about arua tho as most SWFs are not giving exact location callouts unless they are at locations like shack. I think a good middle ground would have reveal your aura to team as a comm wheel option with a cooldown and maybe have a "where is everyone" comm message so that survivors can ask to see each other like you would on a discord call. -
I agree the killer should not have a perk that just deletes a whole aspect of the game. Survivors should still be able to get the save in some way not have these situations of "haha you cant do flashlight things go gen rush…oh wait no!"
I think adding everything you suggested makes it too strong. fine with suggestions like better timing, exhausted and hindered (def not exposed) But I think a token system would also work, Kind of how they made distortion for survivors due to killers finding that playstyle boring. -

BHVR said after their failed update last year that they aren't going to address tunnelling and slugging within the game any further
Do you have a source for this, by any chance? I don't recall this.
Here, if you where still interested. -
This sounds fun but I don't think BHVR has that kind of development power/ effort. It takes forever to get killers reworked and new systems added.
-
Need to start doing hardware bans 😫
-
Hard Agree, If they don't want to remove the system the maps need to at least be rotated regularly. getting a bit silly how often the top rotation of maps have been there.
-
is this really how we want the game to be played?I find this ironic as you are playing ghoul with the centipede ad on.
-
@Elan said:
The scamper was problematic. Now they can buff Kaneki in different ways. Revert the distance leap nerf, buff some add ons etc.
curious what ad ons you would want buffed since he already has a lot of good ad ons even outside of the ones a lot of people want changed (centipede, eye patch) compared to most of the killer roster.
-
I hated it because of the legion. Majority of my matches first time it was in was legion because everyone just cheesing the mode with legion.
-
Just watched Scott Jund newest video and that is how you make a argument against people who are dcing all the time without seeming like you are crashing out or bashing one side.
Not starting the video off by screaming at the survivor side and calling them ######### like example at start of thread from someone in the creator program did. he just calmly states his points, mad at certain survivors but makes clear its not all survivors. -
majority of my matches the past week have been fun. (Solo q Surviour)
I have noticed a increase in slugging killers strangely, had one play session with at least 5 killers just playing the full slug meta no hooking in entire game which I haven't seen this commonly since abandon was added.
I have noticed a decrease in hard tunnels (maybe they moved over to slugging), I think I've seen more killer trying to 2 hook everyone before killing this week for me personally over tunneling.
Most seen killer: Ghoul sadly, one play session getting three ghouls back to back at one point which was unfunoverall tho def enjoying my matches more then I was trying to play the blood moon event que tho😂
-
I honestly think ALOT of players not just new just miss new mechanics because they are not looking at this games updates like the news. It should be up to game to tell players. Not watch videos about the mechanics of a game you want to play or read through patch notes.
I had a Dwight cause the anti camp to not go up one time, when I asked why he didn't leave the hook area in egc he said "I didn't know that was a thing"
I think pop ups would help. not intrusive just like at top of screen during specific scenarios
some examples
Standing in exit gates with one person on hook or lingering around the hook with gates open - "Leaving two survivors left in the trail will allow hooked survivor to attempt self unhook"
Causing anti camp meter to slow down - "Lingering near the hooked survivor will cause the anti camp meter to pause"
Anti camp meter is filling up fast ( killer not going out of range at all) - " Lingering to close to a hook survivor will cause them to be able to unhook themselves" -
Speaking of new features I've noticed the "Best Of" Tab
-
Bhvr needs to see his rant and the start of video and think about if they want this sort of content sponsored by them (hes in creator program)
Nobody should be in the creator program where they are just calling the other side ######### (word likely going to be censored, funny we cant say in forums but a person in the creator program can label a whole side as that) and basically crashing out in the first few mins of the video.
He is a decent size creator he could of gotten his points across without that "rant" at the start, The validity of his argument is invalided to me because of the crashout rant at start of video. -

I just type in dbd on YouTube and this what I see lol
I saw the first video the other day and it just spews bias in the first few minutes in the section labeled "rant" , I ended up leaving a comment on the video itself when I saw it when it came out because its actually disgusting for someone in creator program to egg on the killer community to be more volatile when IMO killers and survivors giving up is on par with each other people just have a whinge way more about survivors doing it.
He added a warning to comments not to harrass people because he knowns what the community is gonna want to do after watching his video.
