If "High skill" killers are a problem, does that mean high skill survivors are a problem too? Because for every 1k win streak blight you see, there are just as many SWF teams going on those same win streaks.
Sadly we can differentiate that skill.
The survivors you are talking about are good at one thing. Doing gens quickly.
In chase they are good, but I've seen way better survivors in soloq matches.
Just yesterday I had a match against a 4man that did 3 gens in exactly 90sec. Why did this happen?
I played Sadako (I am strongly contemplating to main her again....) on nostromo wreckage. I got a super fast first hit on one of them because they didn't look around them. Then I chased them with Stbfl (1 stack) + rapid brutality. Due to made for this, they got almost across the map to a stronger tile, where they where able to see me over the loop. Looped it for two rounds, then dropped the pallet.
BAM! 3 gens done. Then I broke the pallet and they ran to a jungle gym. First Mindgame and they went down.
Same was for the rest of the team.
On survivor, skill is coordination AND looping. Sadly one makes you win games a LOT more than the other.

Don't run either of those much as they don't do anything against mobility killers which are what most people use these days.

Except he gets a notification when you predrom pallets and or breaks them as he comes across them before chase even starts. Not sure how you think that's a good strat?
You misunderstood again...
Match starts. Oni find you first (can happen). You use your brain or windows of opportunity to get to a loop / pallet. You predrop that pallet in his face. You run to the next pallet. You do this for a long time until: the Oni dc´s because of this boring gameplay, the Oni gets a hit because he mindgamed and outplayed you or the Oni gets a hit because they destroyed a majoprity of pallets on the map. Until that point at least 3 gens should be done. Then you try to survivore one demon rush (not that hard on many maps) and your fine.
Oni is not overpowered at all.

Where did i say that?

@ratcoffee said:
it is too strong, I agree
the counterplay is to be aware of other survivors hiding nearby, and to injure multiple people before getting a down, maybe playing a bit more hit-and-run. it's not perfect counterplay but until BHVR tweak that interaction it's the best you've got
Injuring many players is a really bad idea right now against the better survivors.
Resilience will shred your gens.
You beat buckle up +ftp but you lost a lot of time regardless.
Lose lose situation.
-
Counter is a perk that oh so much people claim to be unfair and unbalanced.
Save the best for last.
When you down a survivor, your cooldown is short enough to hit the survivor coming in. Doesn't work always but is better than nothing.
Otherwise there is no counterplay if executed correctly.
Play a strong killer I guess?

Generally you should not use the "ambush" attack as an ambush. It's name is pretty bad. When you are trying to sneak up on survivors, you should uncrouch and go for the standard m1. That will leave them far less time to react.
For the ambush attack, you can use it at loops, but you need to be careful with it. Here is a diagram.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FPEGJAZDKZQ9/image.png
The black lines are a wall, the blue line is an undropped pallet, the red circle is the killer, and the green is the survivor.
What you want to do as pig is take control of the pallet without it being dropped, so run the loop around the pallet and stop there. Then you want to crouch and charge your ambush and go to one side or the other. If you guess right, you will land a hit, if you don't you will not. There are other tricks you can do as well to throw the survivor off, for example you can actually slide on the wall but facing the opposite direction, so you can often catch survivors thinking you are going right, but you are going left, and you are sliding on the wall going the opposite direction, really making them think you are going right.
The weakness here though is 2 things:
- The survivor can immediately just predrop the pallet
- The survivor can "leave the loop"
The leave the loop part is something that is tricky and takes time to figure out, you need to get a feel for when the survivor is going to do it, and if they start doing it, you can start baiting it. The counter to "leave the loop" is for you to uncrouch and start chasing them. Often times, unless there is a really close by tile nearby, you will be able to catch up to them before they get anywhere meaningful.
For predropping the pallet, that is something most killers deal with. Simply break the pallet, and decide if it is worth it to keep chasing (pro tip: most of the time it is not)
My general strategy for most killers in the early game is, if i can't land a hit in 10-15 seconds i drop chase. If the survivor drops a pallet, i break it, and drop chase. Because that survivor is going to at least take another 10-15 seconds to hop back on a gen, and even then it probably isn't a gen they want to be working on. So it gives you some time early.
The last thing i can say is. Do not tunnel the guy with a trap on their head. This is actually bad and will lose you the match more often then it wins. The point of the traps is NOT to kill a survivor with them, the point of the traps is to delay the game by FORCING the survivor to complete an objective that is not the generators, or they die. By all means if you happen to run into the person doing a box, hit them and maybe hook them. But don't go out of your way to tunnel them, because it goes against the point of the traps.
The RNG for the traps is normalized such that, 1 trap takes 1 search to come off, 1 trap takes 2, 1 takes 3, and 1 takes 4. So that means on average you have 10 box searches worth of traps. A box search is going to take a survivor at least 20-30 seconds. So that is ALOT of slowdown that you have built in, so make sure to use it as such.
For her addons generally these ones are good:
- Shattered Syringe
- Combat Straps
- Workshop Grease
- Last Will (when combined with workshop grease)
- Bag of Gears
- Tampered Timer
- Crate of Gears
Don't take Rules set No 2. You would think it might be good, but it is terrible. When the survivors don't see the aura of the boxes with a trap, what are they gonna do? They are gonna do gens. So all it does is lead you to getting gen rushed more. Any addon that does things like "survivors with a trap are exhausted" are also bad because again, you do not want to be chasing survivors with a trap, you want to leave them to waste time with the traps. Video tape is also a bad addon most of the time, unless you make a build around it.
For example, i like to run video tape with Jigsaw Sketch with lethal and a bunch of chase perks that allow me to get a down super quick. Generally the survivors aren't going to spend time on gens and they are gonna immediately go for boxes. If you are good at chasing, you can often get a hook before a single second of a gen is worked on. Basically, if you are good at chases and can snowball it can work really well because you frontload your gen slowdown by just making survivors immediately start doing something else.
You forgot the medical file.
I rarely play without it.

fr tho she's alright she aint the total package out of the box like certain other killers. Her highs can be great, but she has her drawbacks and it's easy to get in your own way if you don't have a good feel for her kit. It also feels like she always needs certain add-ons or combos to do consistently well. There are individual add-ons that should already be basekit on her imo (almost all her browns add-ons including combat straps, JMF, and her Workshop Grease). Ambush, transition, and crouching speed are in dire need of a buff.
IM WITH YOU!!!

Ok....
Pig is a killer of strengths and weaknesses.
This comes from someone that has over 2k hours on pig.
The weaknesses: slow Stealth, ambush can be walked away from at most tiles, m1 based killer that struggles with big maps and unfair designed tiles.
Strengths: only killer that can passively kill survivors, Stealth helps with first hit, can safe Stbfl stacks very easy, ambush (and especially moondash) can outplay tiles most killers can only dream of (my personal favourite being the carpark on Garden of joy), solid addons, the best build in slowdown mechanic in dbd and of course: 🐽
She's a very solid killer that struggles most against survivors that delay her first down a lot.
Otherwise she's awesome. Awesome enough for me to stick to her for this long. And I don't plan to give up on her any time soon.
But I understand why she feels underwhelming to a newcomer in comparison to killers like Blight, Nurse, Wesker, Spirit, Artist, Plague, Pyramid head and the likes.
She seems to be simple but has a very complex kit that needs a lot of knowledge and understanding to become really scary for your regular soloq - and even SWF - (on comms AND not on comms) teams.

Killer: Pig (also a good amount of Demo, Xeno and Dredge)
Survivor: Steve
The Pig is by far the killer with the most fitting kit for my playstyle. I like to play m1 killer with a strategic aspect to it. She just hits all the boxes. On top there is 🐽

He smashed it and then gets you shortly after since his slam cool down is shorter when hitting pallets.
You misunderstood. You predrop so he doesn't get a hit until mid to late game.
Solves most of your oni problems.
-
But she is not harmful to the game anymore.
Nobody said she would become a super fun killer. Her core design, that being set up, stationary drones with area control, is not designed to be a chase power. At least that's what I'm getting from it.
She's better now. Deleting her is not an option due to her being sold in a dlc.
-
Pallet Mindgames.
Predrop pallet and Mindgame her. Work a lot.
Otherwise, yes. She will probably get a hit.
Spirit is a killer you won't beat in the 1v1. You beat her in the 1v4. That means: don't give free hits, don't run into teammates, don't run near gens being worked on, go down as far as possible from other killer objectives.
There are killers that have no counterplay if they play it right. The best contender for this is Nurse.
You try to mindgame these killers.
-
Just predrop pallets

I know pigs default cosmetics blend in on most parts of the map and all the corners definatly my second as killer though not survivor. Though my favourite is the game for the fact that I am a Saw fan I enjoy it on both sides.
The game is probably my least favourite map when it comes to design.
I terms of balance, it's the most one sided map in dbd. Either the survivors will stomp the killer or the killer will stomp the survivors. Generally I find the gameplay extremely boring. However I recently developed a specific playstyle just for this map on my main killer and that makes the map actually very enjoyable for me now.
I terms of references, it's great. Many cool features from the movies.

I see m1 killer as 4.6 movement speed, no power. Normal Mindgames, normal pathing. They all kinda play the same. You can use the same knowledge from one to another.
Some are better at m1 killer than others though.
Dredge being the weakest and Pig being the strongest in my opinion.
-
@GolbezGarlandGabrant said:
Too many times people say M1 killers are unplayable but I wonder are people not relying on powers? Off the top of my head I can only think Pig, Onryo and Dredge fit this definition.
Pig is one of the most m1 killers you can find. She's probably the best m1 killer but yeah.
Using Stealth against good survivors on big maps is a hindrance without combat straps and medical file. Ambush can literally be outrun on many tiles.
The biggest m1 killer in the game (and therefore arguably the weakest killer in the game) is Freddy.
Sadako has phasing and Dredge has the remnant.

Not you specifically, I said the community likes to use it as a reference point so I will too for the sake of this discussion. But my point was that Hyperfocus isn't a commonly used perk, so I don't think it's safe to conclude that hackers are using it as a cover for their cheats.
I dislike nightlight. Its not a reliable source of information:
I agree, that Hyperfocus isnt used that often, but that doesnt make the perk less dangerous / problematic. Its impossible to differentiate a hacker from a legit player that uses Hyperfocus.

They can and are seen as toxic behavior by many. Everyone is allowed their own perspective. No need to invalidate someone's feelings. OP did not say it's a fact but rather that they feel it's toxic.
Being tunneled for 3.5 hours must be very frustrating, and one must question why continue playing if that's considered acceptable game play. Idk about you, but I play games for fun, and I'd rather endure another EMG and NVC torture test then deal with that junk.
As my mom says when she hears us playing in a sarcastic manner, "your game sounds fun!"
It needs to be unrewarding and 3vs1 needs to become stronger, because doing something so easy should he a free win.
Like I keep saying on this forum, if my 10 year old niece can get 4Ks without tunneling, then that tells me everything I need to know.
First: your 10 year old niece should probably not be playing dbd...
Second: MMR is really wonky, Killers have huge variety in strength, maps are heavily unbalanced and perks do a lot of heavy lifting.
Saying that your niece (she should really not be playing dbd at 10) is better than all the other players because she gets 4k's without tunneling and that tunneling is just a skill issue on the killers part is downright wrong.
Also, I have to ask (at how many hooks do you think a survivor should be "allowed" to go out of the match.
-
Tunneling is not toxic.
Being rude or inappropriate in end game chat however is. You can report them for that.
When players in my games write slurs, I report them for harassment.
Otherwise I just turn off chat. I don't like being the Dbd police.
I also closed the function on my steam profile because I was sick of people leaving their disgusting comments there.
It's a game. It's not that serious.

No I know what skill looks like. I dont mind being out played by good players.
I hate being out played by a hacker that cant even hit a skill check but finishes the gen in 5 secs. or a speed hacker that cant even loop with out running into everything but cant still out run me.
Same for the killers cant even swing to get a hit but speed hack ESP.
I know the DEVs see it but they rather push over priced skins and and make bugs.
Look at the event. They acted like it was going to be a best thing ever but it just made the game more toxic an unplayable.
I Really do think they dont care about us they just want us to buy more skins and players so they can set back and laugh at us
How is this event more toxic and unplayable? Im having a blast so far.
Also, i dont know for how long youve been around but. There was a cheater pandemic not too long ago.
It got so bad, that many content creators had to make videos about the problem. BHVR then stepped forward and banned a TON of them. They even provided numbers on how many got banned. Seems like caring to me.
Please think about what you are saying. BHVR wants you to play the game. Without players, the game would die. If they really didnt care about the players and just let cheaters have their way, the game would probably be dead by now.

I dont know how others dont get matched up with them. Some of my Killers I cant even play because I get this almost every game. My pyramid head has them every game. I would only play his school map and won every game about 10 in a row with my offerings. now I cant even get a hook half the time.
Bubba is always this. ghostfasce, myers, nemesis, night, all the same. once you win alot of matches in a row you get stuck with them.
the bad thing is they come in squads not just one. SWF hacks.
I know they cant stop them but ban them faster or in waves something. This is whats going to kill the game.

It's not about ping at all. It's about the hitbox. Most people don't realize this, but if you lunge as a killer, your hitbox is delayed by 0.9 seconds for the lunge. Often times when survivors stun a killer before they hit them, they are actually stunning the killer during the lunge.
However, if you tap m1 instead of lunge, the hitbox comes out IMMEDIATELY, and then the survivor drops the pallet, but by that point, the hitbox is already out. The hitbox for killer attacks, linger very slightly by like a .1-.2 seconds. This means that, the killer taps m1, the survivor drops the pallet, and the hitbox for the attack lingers, and the survivor is hit.
It is actually intended and a mechanic of the game. This is probably what you are seeing most of the time.
Thx.
Didn't know it's intended.
