  • Running in circles around the same rock.

I doesn't really work, its not particularly interesting gameplay.

Its often the only thing in a player's arsenal, the player who does it once usually keeps doing it. They wound easily and they die fast but they keep on doing it.

  • Man I would have still had fun in all those games. Its a shame you didn't but if every game was the same farm fest where the killer always swapped out who they chased and was generally polite then this game would get really dull really fast.

Being under pressure to try and survive is the point of playing survivor. Killers leveraging their power to be as nasty as possible is the horror movie experience.

Sure the quitters suck but there will always be quitters I wish the lockout bans were longer.

Yeah a theory I have is that people do in fact believe they are being tunneled a lot but they actually don't fully understand what tunneling is. They aren't lying or anything, they just don't really know better.

A lack of perceptive overview makes up some of this problem. As a survivor you often don't have the full story about why you might have been chased again, you only have your narrow in game experience. So our collective imagination tends to fill in the blanks and "tunneling" is a great scape goat in those scenarios.

Hence players saying they get accused of tunneling because by happenstance they found the same survivor again or lost another survivor and wound up hooking the same survivor again.

It's not lying but it can be self deceptive.

Couple this circumstance with the opinion that its somehow unfair or bad play to be hooked twice in a row and suddenly you have a broad platform with which to call getting hooked twice in any scenario being "tunneled".

I've been accused of "tunneling" even when I've hooked another survivor prior to re-hooking the "tunneled" individual. I think the lack of overview and player mindset are a large part of this.

The idea that "enough other players need to be hooked before I can be hooked again" is at best silly and at worst game ruining.

The issue with your condescending tone is it's not as spot on as you wanna believe. Yes players are gonna rush objectives regardless, but you're ignoring that there would be an increase in SIDE objectives without an intense rush meta.

If a killer has a power that requires survivors to interact with it in order to stop it (demo, unknown, plague etc) then having less incentive to tunnel a survivor and apply gen pressure will require the survivors to not rush gens and either heal if needed or break the killers metaphorical power line. This would lead to more games on average having a less sweaty and competitive feel for the more casual audience who makes up more of the player base than the top 1% who try to force their balance on the rest of the community as if they aren't playing a whole different game altogether.

By no means did I say that rushing on either end would ever stop but some type of value from not rushing would help more players on average. It's not something you also have to feel the need to get snarky about

What you have here is no better than a guess at what might happen if players didn't feel rushed. Its not a bad guess but as I said "gen rush" and "tunneling" will happen independently of each other and that currently holds true even with killers who have a secondary effect (Demo etc).

So there is very little case to make for changing one to fix the other. While games where players are smashing gens can involve the killer trying to eliminate someone just as quickly, correlation isn't causation. "But if there was no tunneling then you wouldnt feel the need to gen rush that often" So this comment as a stand alone statement is an oversimplification of the discussion.

No more condescending than pointing out things aren't rocket science, but lets try and keep to critiquing the argument and not the person, they are two different things. No one said you were facile even though your point was. Don't take any of this personally, its not that important.

So I stand by my point, you'll just have to feel about that as you choose.

  • Most teams aren't coordinated enough to make a difference.

The problem lies in this weird concept that the killer should split their time relatively evenly between each survivor in the name of fairness.

The reality is identifying which survivors are weaker than others and capitalizing on that is part of the game. Utilizing tactics and perks to maximize this is also part of the game.

The problem isn't that survivors are too coordinated or that killers are too weak.

Its that players expect a certain game style and lament when they don't get it. They do this without realizing that the game they want plays into the survivor strengths and its frankly silly to expect your opponent to play to your strengths.

It's no that players don't appreciate how strong a coordinated team can be, but more they don't seem to realize they are playing DBD.

It's simplistic because it's not that complicated. If a survivor is being hard tunneled by the killer then alot of the times the best thing to do is finish the objectives.

Now this can also apply to killers who tunnel as having less survivors in the game as soon as possible makes finishing gens more difficult and allows for more pressure.

It's not exactly rocket science and this is essentially the game by design. You just have to play it for what it is

Sure mechanically its straight forward, but if you think gen rushing will stop if tunneling stops or vice versa then you're deluding yourself.

As I said one is not completely causal of the other. Player motivation isn't solely dictated by how quick the game goes.

If a player chooses to focus someone out then they will do that regardless of gen speeds. Same goes for gen rushing. Also players have very broad definitions of "tunneling" and see it everywhere even when its not there. So if a large proportion of "tunneling" is imagined, which it appears to be, then its not as simple as just changing mechanics.

"But if there was no tunneling then you wouldnt feel the need to gen rush that often" Players rush gens even when not being tunneled so you're point isn't accurate.

You are right on one thing simplistic is not the way to describe that statement, facile would be a better term.

Actually, killers want to chase, down, and hook without having to sweat all the time

So no, hook oriented gameplay by itself is hardly a problem, just that gen time would be like 3 minutes each

Remember when making a point, your take doesn't apply to everyone.

When I play killer my goal is to kill. Getting 8 hooks and then everyone getting away is not what the game is about.

Its DEAD by daylight, not "severely injured by daylight." and definitely not "mildly inconvenienced by day light."

Hooks are just the primary mechanic that you use in order to get kills, the end goal is still to eliminate the opposition and the opponent goal is to avoid elimination.

The game should be built around those goals.

    @Neaxolotl said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3696421#Comment_3696421

Getting 3 hook 1 kill isn't any better than getting 4 escape, even 2 kill with endgame generally feels a loss for killer

So no, 6 hooks or 2 kills doesn't really matter, it's only a win when they win, and thus as long as they can win reasonably with hooks, they wouldn't care if they get less 1k 2k matches

    This is quite untrue.

Securing a single kill can often be a rewarding effort in a game that was going to be a total loss. You're dealing solely in absolutes WIN/LOSS. If that's how you want to view it fine, but there is a bit more to it than that.

Sure 1 kill and 3 escapes is still a loss overall for the killer, but just as being the only survivor to escape while a loss for the team is a satisfying personal win, that 1 kill can be just as satisfying an event.

What you are advocating for here is an elimination game with no real elimination. As if getting more hooks should somehow be the goal. DBD without elimination is just a dull farm fest with no real stakes.

DBD gets the kind of visceral reaction it does from players because elimination is so final and often feels kinda nasty, just like a horror movie.

Its DBD's greatest strength as a game.

Well I wasn’t here when the bar was short, I joined in the last year so yeah I will complain a bit I guess being new compared to the vets here. I’m being pitted against players who’ve played for years on end, my matches end in 4 and a half minutes. It’s not fun for me when that happens, but then survivors get mad when I run all generator slow downs or have to start tunneling because 3 gens popped in my first 40 second chase lol

    Fair enough.

Let the survivors get mad though, you play how you need and by what you find fun. When players get mad at legitimate gameplay that's on them.

  • @coco_shotz said:

But if there was no tunneling then you wouldnt feel the need to gen rush that often

The problem with this idea is one thing actually has little to do with the other.

Even if you were safe until all 4 survivors had been hooked once each, players would still try to finish gens as efficiently as possible. They would just take advantage of their new found safe status.

Same goes for if gens lasted 10 mins each, killers would still eliminate survivors as efficiently as they could. Simply taking advantage of the extra time granted.

One is not causal of the other. Thinking they are is a very simplistic view.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3695857#Comment_3695857

That’s fair and I get that, it just doesn’t always feel that way when I have recorded matches that end in 4 1/2 minutes because all the generators are done.

Even with me, hooking people left and right

Sure there will always be games that go south quickly. It’s possible to be checkmated in 3-5 moves too doesn’t mean they should ban the queen from moving for 5 turns.

It kinda goes to show even when you fix a problem, what happens is people just move the bar for that problem and continue to complain.

I strongly and respectfully disagree on Gen Rushing not being a thing. 😅

  • @IamFran said:

Gen rush still exist. There are still plenty people wanting to repair ASAP without interacting with the killer, with BNP and/or Prove Thyself despite both were nerfed. Is gen rush less effective than before? Yes. Does gen rush still exist? Also yes. Try some killers whose need setup time like trapper without Corrupt Intervention and see what happens in a lot of matches.

And related to the title of the thread, I know the thread title is a joke for showing a quick match with Billy. But if we are serious with the terms, the equivalent to gen rush in the killer side is tunneling without being necessary (for example, from the start of the game with 5 gens).

you can focus on gens but you can’t really rush them like the old days of BNP. Focusing on something isn't really the same as rushing it.

Same goes for killer too, you focus down one survivor but your not really rushing it.

What happens is people forget what real gen rush was or weren’t around for it so they move the goal post to meet what they think gen rushing is because the term is still used but it really doesn’t mean what it used to.

The reason it was boring was because the killer could rotate between all 3 gens within 12 seconds, I even had a toolbox and deja vou, made no difference. Eventually we made it out but it took a survivor to eventually die and at least 5-10 minutes of this boring back and forth exchange.

again someone had to die to achieve it. High stakes. Shame you find a good game boring maybe time to play something else.

  • A great killer.

Really captures the chainsaw massacre character. Simple and brutal.

Fun to play and play against.

  • @MoNosEmpire said:

I was SoloQ last night and I was there for a good 10 minutes tryna break the 3 gen lock vs gunslinger, all 3 gens were 10s walking distance between each other, we eventually got it done but sheesh it was rediculous and got to the point where it started to feel so boring to do.

I don't get how that was "boring" though.

Its a high stakes game of plinking away at the gens right under the nose of the killer. Almost every attempt will force interaction with the killer and the goal is to distract the killer enough to complete the last gen as safely as possible.

Sorry, I meant the BNP before the more recent change. Not the original original version.

As has been pointed out by others old BNP is what I was referring too. Genuine "gen rush." or Gen-uine HAH!

1 gen gets completed at game start then 4 more pop almost simultaneously less than a minute later. If you haven't insta mori'd someone before that happens then you are out of luck and even if you have, you are still down 4 gens with 3 survivors up after roughly 2-3 mins of play.

Real "gen rush" hasn't existed for a long time.

I'll meet you in the middle here and admit that I'm mostly just venting about some strange fellow pretending to ######### my character in an online videogame. I will have to disagree about that being even remotely close to your average excited survivor teabagging their opponent from a safe distance, though. One of these is a knee-jerk/emotional taunt. The other is premeditated.

I'm also pretty sure most players would also much rather get teabagged at by survivors every other game than have their respective killer start erotic roleplaying in the middle of an intense game.

As for your latter point, I respect your chosen definition of "Toxic" and, once again, agree that 4slugging is effective, valid and very much not toxic. It's a concept/action, not an organic being. It isn't capable of being toxic on its own, only being utilized by a toxic person. These players themselves, however, are what I'm referring to as toxic and, frankly, are far more interesting than their childish response to losing a competition. They are who I intended to discuss, as well as why they flock to certain killer characters.

I think edgarpoop's initial post about choosing killers that balance overwhelming power with ease of use was apt and well-said. I'm guilty of being attracted to them as well, hence my fascination with "mastering" Skully—

However I'm also well aware that 9/10 times, I'm playing the game against other grownups with things to do once we're done scooby-dooing after each other in circles for 5-12 minutes. I don't want to actively keep them away from their lives and/or their earned BP/XP/Iri Shards. It's not too much to expect the same attitude from your average Chucky player, is it?

Edit/Addendum: To clarify, as if the vulgarity of the act wasn't ridiculous enough, I'd probably also classify slugging and ERPing with an incapacitated survivor in a closet instead of immediately hooking them and playing like "normal" while there's 3 other survivors still playing the game unawares of what's happening, as a waste of both the Killer and Survivor's time.

Your rationale here is very flawed.

The tactic of slugging for the 4K isn't toxic but people who use that tactic are? Can you you see the disjointed nature of that concept. Its not toxic on its own, its only being used by a toxic person.

What qualifies the person of being toxic? If the only measure of toxicity you have is that they slugged for the 4k, which by your own admission is not a toxic act?

Are you simply blanket assuming a player who slugs for the 4k is in some way purely motivated by spite and out to maliciously ruin the fun for others? Because going around assuming your opponent exists purely to ruin your fun is one way to get really pissed off at the game and you do it to yourself by thinking that way.

Other grownups? If defining yourself as "grown up" then it behooves one to point out that you have displayed here a very childish way to approach the game, with some fine examples of childishness. i.e.

    • Letting your frustration make you consider quitting early and then acting on that impulse as notification spamming out of frustration.
    • Defining players as childish for how they respond to loss while at the same time responding to loss in just a childish a manner.
    • The preconception that one type of tea bagging must be premeditated but another is simply a knee jerk response to the game and ok, on no basis other than how you personally feel about each one.

I'm afraid its not some considerate or benevolent act to allow people to get back to their lives, as most adults should know what to potentially expect from a game of DBD and be capable of planning their time accordingly. That's called being responsible. Having the expectation that other players will take on that responsibility for you and attenuate their gameplay to fit that need is indeed a bit much.

  • Its still a lot of fun to play. In fact I'd say its in a pretty good spot at the moment.

For the most part Killer feels suitably powerful and survivor feels suitably difficult.

That's not to say there aren't changes that I don't like or stuff that I miss. Personally the pinnacle of DBD for me was chains of hate. With the Leatherface rework a close second.

  • I'd wager its the I had a bad game and came straight to the forum to whine about it crowd.

    Nothing new.

  • You encounter 1 bug and have a meltdown in general chat.

Just post the bug to the bug report section and move on.

  • I realize the thread is simply a rant or maybe a late April fools gag, but man why is everyone so sensitive over a game. Sure it's unnecessary to "t-bag" (and noise spam but I guess its ok when the OP does it out of frustration eh) etc but come on really is it really that traumatizing? Its only a game for crying out loud.

    To really highlight one point

"proceeds to deny Quentin his right to leave the game with his well-earned BP."

It's not some breach of human rights to be slugged in a game of DBD. If the killer wants to go for a 4k, they can, and are allowed to slug to maximize their chances.

I love the way the OP decries "toxicity" while admitting to verbally berating the killer player in post game chat, "I call him out on "forcing a 4k" instead of "earning" it post-game" The absolute hubris of this is palpable and a lil hilariously ironic in how tone deaf it is.

News flash… when you act like that in post game chat… you are being toxic.

Attacking other players over how they legitimately play, simply because it doesn't fit your personal version of legitimate gameplay, is toxicity.

The killer player response "I got a 4k tho" is perfectly reasonable in this case and rather subdued I might add.

"Now? I'm wondering if licensed characters/killers are even worth the baggage they bring." Licensed killers don't come with any baggage, only players who get hung up on the game and grumpy about it do. This is true no matter what role they play.

  • "Gen rush" hasn't really been a thing since they changed BNP.

No such thing as "kill rush" just killers who play well enough and survivors who screw up enough to allow quick kills.

  • Are people really complaining about not getting enough free stuff from simply playing a game.

    This community.. just wow.

  • Really the us vs them is just a plain waste of time.

Also if survivor was disproportionately favored by BHVR we wouldn't have a killer bias in outcome.

You can argue the tit for tat of who gets bigger changes but match results speak to where the advantages lie and in the average game killer is advantaged over survivor role (I'm ok with that because it's appropriate for the genre).

I'll agree with one thing though built in mechanics are a crappy solution.

  • yep, taking this game too seriously is an all too common problem.
Frankly I’m happy to tip my hat to a well executed dead hard or head on.
And so what if a killer smacks you on hook at nods at you. It’s not like the hook timer takes longer when that happens.

Online games people need to relax. Hoping the removal of de-pipping finally pulls the bug out of a lot player’s butts.

Also people sleep on the fact that by using DS you remove deep wounds which allows it to be used to stack endurance effects with each other.

A well timed DS alongside endurance to eat multiple hits can cost the killer a lot of time that even if they end up killing you, the rest of your team had the time to escape.

Its really not that hard to go down near a tile... I swear in this community the perk better be super duper good or broken or else its useless.

I should clarify that I'm not too concerned with it reverting to 5 secs. 3 was kinda minimal and a large section of the killer roster could shrug that off with little to no consequence.

As a player who plays a lot of Myers and Trapper I may need to contend with it a lil more, but there are ways to do that and it's still single use and deactivates in endgame making the most egregious elements of its use largely attenuated.

The big kicker is having to contend with the 5 sec on multiple players. Especially with the current culture of unsafe saves being the norm due to built in BT and the players whom try to leverage built in BT to body block rather than escape. These I find are often the players that moan the most about being tunneled post game without an ounce of self awareness about how they created that scenario themselves.

  • If survivors are mashing buttons at the exit gate then you have this big weapon in your hand, you go there and chase them out with it and move on with your life.

Exactly, it still resets the chase.

I think the problem is people want a greater head start because they feel slighted if targeted again after an unhook.

As if by using DS you should be able to vanish or escape from chase almost guaranteed, but that's not really what its for. Its an aid to escape from chase, its still on the survivor to outplay the killer during that chase and escape.

I don't like outright farming either but what I am talking about is offering a BPS so everyone benefits, only to have a killer play like they are competing for a cash prize in a tournament and tunnelling/camping at 5 gens and generally playing like an absolute ass.

I don't want to farm either, I want chases and I do believe there is a middle ground - which I do myself when I play killer. I try to spread hooks and engage in chases as that is what I enjoy on both sides.

Farming is the most egregious case sure. "Playing like an ass" as you put it, is kinda the killer's prerogative. They are there to kill you by any means necessary. I'm not gonna bemoan someone who wants to play in any particular way because they are allowed to and its perfectly fine within the game rules to do so.

Event or no event, offerings or no offerings.

If you feel you aren't getting value from a particular offering then sure don't bring it. I personally don't tend to use streamers or event addons when playing survivor either because the outcome is highly dependent on the quality and motivation of random team mates, which is never guaranteed.

I save those things for when I play killer because even a bad match is still a full game for killer with more opportunity to get return from the addon.

  • Bringing streamers or event offerings isn’t some benevolent act. It’s also not selfish or vindictive to not bring them. All the people bemoaning other players about what addons they do or don’t bring… you are part of “toxic” community problem. Let it go already and just play the game.

    @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Exactly why I stopped bringing BPS

I still bring cakes every killer game though as I have so many on some killers and I can make the match fun and let everyone go at the end and still cash out on some big BP's

To me that’s not fun. When there is no threat from the killer dbd is nothing but a dull farm fest. If I don’t have to flee for my life and try to survive what is the point of playing survivor. That’s the whole concept of survivor in dbd.

The idea that “playing nice” and letting everyone go is some sort of service to the other side needs to change.

This is one downside of events, they are breeding grounds for some of the most tedious types of dbd player, namely the bad sport whom is always angry they didn’t get max BP’s and want to take it out on everyone and the misguided quasi benevolent do-gooder who panders namely to the bad sports.

I am somewhat mid tier and a lot of things are far from ez in normal games.

The forums are not representative of the entire player base. You don’t say.

I’d hazard it’s representative of the whiniest cohort.

Mid tier eh, a player whose ego doesn’t make his assumptions for him. I tip my hat to you sir. 🎩

  • What reply, you created the thread. You open with complaint about slugging for the 4K and then wanting Billy’s power nerfed as if it’s causal to the slugging.

Basically there has been some discussion on how his power works and then just a lot of complaining about unrelated playstyles.

Yeah I read the whole thing and it still doesn’t really stack up as a sensible conversation.

  • I don’t condone a dc, this one is a grey area though.

Get some recording software, record the game and the tab out and do something else.

I had a cheater sit in game for almost 30 mins once. I made a cup o tea and watched a movie instead. Yeah it sucks.

  • What does slugging for the 4K really have to do with his power?

Against any insta down killer you are probably not going to get the pick up easily.

You have to choose between the risk of helping a team mate and self preservation.

That’s ridiculous and you know it. They aren’t making killer changes just because swf exists.

If I were to say anything about changing pop and pain res I bet you’d be crying about that too because killers won’t have any other perks to use or the 3 gen system that I’ve only ever seen against someone chasing in one area with surge and that wasn’t even through my match it was through a live stream for a streamer I watch no matter what I suggested to be changed you probably would have had a negative opinion on it so I chose to ask for changes with solo queue in mind and you still find a way to be a negative Nancy about it 😃

lol you didn’t ask for any changes though. You just ranted a one sided opinion about the state of the game.

This reply rants more, making all kinds of assumptions about what I’d think purely because I pointed out the flaw in your don't actually ask for anything but just rant and say you’re asking for something approach.

    Sometimes the comedy writes itself.

  • Make updates and changes!

    Ok what changes?

I don’t know but here’s a wall of text that’s just a generic rant complaining about pretty much every aspect of the game. Waah!

    1. You lose significantly more than the killer. The average player is escaping less than 40% of the time if we factor in games with disconnects. Players like Otz with over 10k hours couldn't get above 40% in solo queue during their experiment. I always get a good laugh at that one killer main who goes around claiming to escape 70% of his solo queue games. Like do you just hide in a corner with Left Behind? What is the point in telling a lie like this when nobody believes it?
    2. You get significantly less bloodpoints than the killer in addition to losing significantly more often. Just play a few matches as each side during the current event. Killers get SIGNIFICANTLY more bloodpoints in the average match.
    3. There is practically zero matchmaking which leads to there usually being at least one weak link on your team if you are in solo queue. You might also get paired with a 5000 hour killer running four slowdowns even if you are on a big losing streak.
    4. Your game can be completely ruined by the other side if they decide they want to tunnel out the 500 hour Dwight. Maybe they will bleed you out too.

Survivor is not fun due to all of these things. The game is only fun if you have three good teammates which is rare in solo queue.

    You should play killer.

It stands to reason you get less BP’s as survivor than killer because let’s face it, you often aren’t in game for as long as the killer is.

The great thing is BP’s are universal you can spend them on either killer or survivor.

There is matchmaking but given survivor is a team game it’s gonna come with the limitations of playing with strangers online. Set your expectations accordingly.

If you aren’t having fun as a survivor then play killer. If you aren’t having fun as killer either then maybe play something else for a bit.

If you're at high MMR as Survivor, you're escaping quite a bit, so clearly the game is not only playable, but also winnable.

It’s funny how everyone on these forums is at high MMR.

Where are all the crap players at?

  • It’s very simple.

“Tunnelling” is an excuse you can use when you die.

It puts all blame on the opponent and absolves yourself of any error so that you can soften the blow to your ego when losing a game.

Be sure to ignore any practical scenarios or mistakes that make hooking you again over someone else the better play.

It’s never ok for an opponent to leverage your errors, they are simply vindictively ruining the fun by tunnelling.

Remember it’s never your fault. You don’t have to improve. It’s the game that has to do better, be sure your opponent knows this. Point it out vehemently!

Oh and occasionally it means the killer just chasing you and no one else till elimination.

    That about sums it up.

(Those of you without a sense of humour need not reply).

No, I'm telling you I find it fun. I get enjoyment out of reaching goals. It has nothing to do with impatience.

Anyway I'm not going to argue with someone what I find fun. I'm pretty sure I'm the best judge of that.

Sure you are and if finishing the goal is fun the make it your focus.

But if it ever makes you mad at the game or other players that you didn’t get the bp’s you wanted then definitely take a moment to asses that motivation.

Which is my point as leveling up is a secondary goal to simply playing the game.

  • I think you are over dramatizing the concept of playing a particular killer.

It really says very little about a player if they prefer one type of play over another, outside of the incredibly spurious and subjective narratives we craft in our own heads about what it means.

Having a "main" was just as meaningless before as it is now, outside of our own lil sense of narrative.

Nothing wrong with having that narrative, enjoying it and making it part of your game but like most crafted concepts best not to read to much into it.

Kinda like a horoscope... or Horrorscope perhaps hehe.

  • What's kinda funny the concepts of transphobia don't even apply in this case because the character in question isn't depicting any sexuality or identity. In fact the concept is an inclusionary one because the creature in question doesn't seem to discriminate about whom it infests, hence the varied collection of skins.

I saw the comment that you have to think of how these things will be taken out of context, but if you ignore context you are able to arbitrability apply offence to any item or idea. Basically making everything potentially offensive.

Its a shame the VA feels as they do and a greater shame if they have been targeted with harassment. However they did post their thoughts to social media which is kinda throwing open the door for all opinions, even those that may disagree with their take on it.

To call the DLC transphobic and deceitful really seems to be trying to make something out of nothing.

I edited the post for a reason.

My original post did not articulate my thoughts correctly, and in a few areas I used the wrong terms which lead to my post seeming far more harsh than it was really intended to be.

My points are still valid even in light of the edits.

Lesson learned eh never come to the forums if you are mad at the game.

"The BP’s are largely irrelevant in terms of reward for time invested because the concept is the fun. "

Didn't I just say fun to me is leveling up my characters?

Sure but you'll do that passively as you play.

Is your impatience to be fully leveled up undermining your fun?

"The big thing about grind currencies in any online game is that they are simply a bonus not the sole reward. The reward is the enjoyment you get from playing the game."

Sure I play because I enjoy the game but I also enjoy working towards goals and one of those goals is to level up characters. In turn I need BPs to do that.

"However too often you see people whom are just angry at the game because they didn't get enough of the free award. Its kinda funny really."

I don't get angry but you have to remember some people don't have a lot of time to play. A lot of weeks I only get time to play about 3 or 4 matches. You know how it is, sometimes you can get bad games. If I spend my few hours I have to spare and walk away with 80-100k it's not a good investment if I'm working towards the goal of leveling up characters.

Sure but my point is if at any time the desire to earn in game currency and level up exceeds the fun, then it’s time to stop.

As for available time to play, well that’s the nature of life. Things are gonna interrupt your game time and the solution is good time management. You gotta make time for yourself.

The BP’s are largely irrelevant in terms of reward for time invested because the concept is the fun. If measuring the time invested against the BP’s earned you have already undermined your own fun before any game is played.

  • I play survivor I don't hate tunneling. A lot of players think like this.

Don't say survivors in general hate tunneling when its simply a collective of highly vocal complainers.

That said tunneling isn't really necessary to win, even against gen rush squads.

But there is no better permanent pressure you can generate than the elimination of a player so if you get the chance to do that, then taking it isn't a bad option.

  • I think there is a tendency to hyperfocus on BP's.

Its a currency that you accumulate for free simply by playing. There is no inherent cost in earing them, yet people can get really angry if they don't get bonus BP's or get low BP's.

The big thing about grind currencies in any online game is that they are simply a bonus not the sole reward. The reward is the enjoyment you get from playing the game.

However too often you see people whom are just angry at the game because they didn't get enough of the free award. Its kinda funny really.

  • If you go AFK you can't win there's your problem.

I find the game works best when you are at your keyboard and mouse, or controller whatever your poison, to actually press the buttons and move around.

I helps a lot, give it try 👍️

  • I get this is just a rant about what you want from the event but keep a couple of things in mind.

You can't be "all for bringing whatever you want in a game" if you feel angry when people don't bring desired offerings during the event.

Yes it is a little entitled to feel angry at players who don't bring the offers you want. Players who don't aren't guilty of anything.

The key to all this is to realize that the event is not for blood point grinding, it can be used that way, but its not only about that. It's just a bonus event with some extra BP's. That's all.

One of the big things I dislike about events is players get so hung up on the extra BP bonus. This is often to the extent that they expect certain offerings and expect certain play (i.e. farming) simply because they brought said offerings.

The number of players who message after a game saying "I brought an offering you should have done this or that" Move onto the next game already.
