X, plays like normal for me and I mostly play as the Hillbilly.
The Clown seems to run well too even when I'm spamming toxic bottles.
Survivor has always been fine, the Doc suffers on some maps like Haddonfield and Red Forest etc but he did before 2.0.
    No complaints from me.

    Ok, thank you

  • Honestly, this is a pretty irrelevant post. This matter was discussed long ago and there is no need to bring it back. Everyone will have its own opinion on this and they are not going to change it.

As someone who plays a decent amount of both sides, I can say I hate the hatch as either side. As a killer it just feels so bad to kill 2 and down a 3rd while they still have 3 gens up and know that if you hook you're probably just going to let the other one get away despite wrecking them. In addition, hatch stand offs are so stupid. You just [BAD WORD] stand in one spot hoping you see the survivor sneaking up and can get lucky enough to time it so you can grab them out of it.

As a survivor it creates such a toxic environment. I can't say how maddening it is to get put on a hook with two already dead and see the other guy just sitting in a [BAD WORD] closet by the hatch because that's what's going to get him the most points. It's equally as frustrating to have to sit there and wait while the slow as ######### bleed out timer ticks down. If we didn't get the gens done than we don't deserve to escape. Simple as that. The worst part is it's worth more than escaping regularly. It's like you get rewarded for getting your ass kicked with a bonus 2500 bp.

The hatch is just toxic for everyone involved and should really be removed from the game. I know they are working on changes for it but just remove it entirely. It's not hard to get the gates open if your team has any idea what they are doing. The game is already survivor favored. And if they don't then that's part of a team game. Sometimes you get ######### teammates. Die and move on or rank up so they are at least semi-competent.

    I disagree.
The hatch as you state is exactly as it should be : an easier escape for the one letting you to die.
It's the original concept of the game, when the game wasn't a scoobydoo fest of altruism like it is now. (Even tho it had HUGE flaws before too, but it wasn't in the concept, it was in the mecanics)

They're just turning dbd into a stupid teamgame, while the original idea is to make survivors to have to cooperate until it's not necessary anymore, and to let someone else to die in order to get an easier escape for yourself.
And yes, it's sort of "toxic", but it's the original concept of the game : either you take the risk of saving (and put yourself at a stake, which is why it's so heavily rewarding to save), or you just repair and eventually let die to get the hatch/exit gates.

The main issue comes from the fact that the game is turning into a teamgame, especially with the omnipresence of SWF, and the already clear advantage survivors do have, which is rather unrelated to the hatch itself.

As a killer, I don't mind the last one getting away. I just dislike the eventual hatch stand-off, but I usually simply hit and accept it.

Right now, the devs don't know what to do with the hatch.
    My proposal was to:
    - remove the hatch. (Most people stopped reading after this)
    - remove the gen regression during this stage
    - give the last survivor a bonus to repair speed

This way, the last survivor still has a chance. He has to work for that escape, but it's not a free escape like the hatch.
But then the perk Left Behind would be useless. (It is useless as of now, but you know...)

Honestly I don't like it. It incorporates too many F13 mechanics into what is essentially a DbD clone, and overall the gameplay seems really slow.
The only thing I like is how the cardholders are filled, since it doesn't require just to hold m1 and hit a skillcheck/qte, but you need to find the right parts/cards. If something similar was introduced for gens in DbD (like it was asked since a lot of time, actually) it could spice things up.

Like some parts of a generator or finding tools? That would be interesting!
  • What's the game about? I haven't heard of it.

Let's agree that we won't agree with one another.
I think the nurse is ok, you think the opposite.
(Even tho you still think the real killer is the one that runs around pallets and presses M1)
And for your suggestion: it's not bad. But it's like a better Hag with the select-to-teleport add-on (can't remember the name rn). No stun, cooldown, 110% MS...

It's not a better Hag, since Hag would have a controlled Area rather than a bigger chasing potential/better roaming potential, and a cooldown. I play Hag very regularly, and they'd be pretty different even tho the fact they both have some kind of teleportations already make them rather similar. (Name is Mint Rag, for the add-on)

I agree tho, we can simply agree to disagree, and I respect different opinions.
It was nice discussing with you in any case.

Yeah, exchanging opinions is a good way to see both sides of the coin. Have a nice day!

  • @Mc_Harty

I can assure you, that even the survivors have a control over the match against Sally if they are focused on gens.
  • @Mc_Harty
Mind you that in a horror game, the killer is supposed to be frustrating the survivors. Not vice versa.

    @Runiver and Mc_Harty
Tell us some of your nerfs. I am just interested in it. If you say that she should be nerfed, then suggest something.
  • @Runiver

So when the killer is hard to play, he must be at the same level as a killer that is easy to play...

    Uhuh...
And for your MINDGAMES thing... you think, that a killer who teleports through walls has no mindgames? Like we have some kind of wallhack that we use to see survivors to land our blinks?
  • And for your questions:
    1) When a survivor manages to get a distance between me and him (although it rarely happens), I always try to predict where he went and follow the scratchmarks (by blinking, always prefer blinks). If I went the wrong way, I'll go looking for another survivor (so your gen strategy isn't bad).

    2) It is never a good thing when your opponents gain distance from you. Always listen to their footsteps and sounds when in the fatigue and try to follow scratchmarks. Of course you can lose them, we are not dogs. If you have a problem with it, try Bloodhound or Shadowborn.

    Be calm at all times.
You missed a hit? Be calm.
Gens are done way too fast? Be calm.
Any distraction can disrupt your precision.

And don't worry, with enough patience, you will get the hang of locating survivors when in the fatigue.
  • I made a guide for her. Although it's meant for console, it only applies for the Tips section. Otherwise you can use it.

  • And what about Diana from the Lights Out? Maps would be changing light.

    Okay, here is my suggestion:
Diana's power can change the lightning of the maps. After using her ability, in 2 seconds, the map's lighting will switch. (Dark to light and vice versa). This has a cooldown of ~10 seconds.
When the dark takes over the map:

    Diana:
    • can attack
    • moves at the speed of 110%
    • can be bodyblocked
    • is visible
    • can see in the dark

    Survivors:
    • can't see too much (like when the Crescent Moon offering is offered, maybe worse)
    • their aura reading ability is hindered by 8 meters

When the light takes over the map:

    Diana:
    • can't attack
    • moves at the speed of 150%
    • can walk through obstacles, not walls though (by obstacles I mean boxes, trucks, stones, trees etc., just not through walls, that would've been too op IMO)
    • can't see too much (but still has clearer vision than survivors in the dark)
    • is invisible (completely, no shivering)
    • can't be bodyblocked

    Survivors:
    • have normal vision
    • their aura reading ability is normal

Her terror radius is like Trapper's.

Now it looks like an interesting Freddy rework. Duh.
  • I haven't really played any horror game, but isn't Pyramid head moving slowly? I mean, if he was walking at the normal killer speed, it would make him look silly.
  • Well... Then don't sit in front of it for that long.

I'd HATE Billy to be anywhere close to Nurse in term of gameplay.
I actually think Billy is where the balance is at, at least he's the closest it can be considering the current state of the game.

I just think the Nurse is wrongly designed overall.

Then stop disapproving Nurse players' efforts to play their favourite killer. (It really seems like you can't appreciate the time and effort people put into mastering the Nurse)

Look, I asked you, why you like HillBilly. You responded with unnecessary videos. Ok, maybe you wanted to demonstrate your opinions.
But what about the capitalized words? Why are they there?
These words made me think, that you think, Nurse doesn't need skill, you don't have to commit to your predictions, you don't have to even make them...

Maybe I looked offensive to you, because I haven't understood, why you had to point out these parts of your reply.
I think he believes that Nurse second blink is a crutch that allows too much control. Which is highly false. 8/10 times the first Blink you do is simply to catch up to a Survivor who’s been running. The second Blink is the strike blink. If he truthfully feels that most Nurses hit a strike on thier first blink, or are even within striking distance, then he’s wholly mistaken.

He actually sounds envious that Billy isn’t Nurse level. Either that, or he’s very ignorant on how much prediction is required on Blinks. He forgets, even a hit with Nurse isn’t as good as Billy, Billy gets insta-down, even if Nurse blinks correctly and gets the hit, it’s just a normal hit.

Compare them side side by side. Billy, if he predicts correct gets an instant down, Nurse just gets a hit. Trade off? Nurse has a second Blink to correct an error if there is one, *if she even can provided she has Blinks remaining*, however, it’s still just a hit. It’s not an instant down. She gets more control, but just a hit. Billy has less control, but can insta-down.
Yeah, he really seems a bit envious. I don't have anything against Hillbilly players. But Runiver seems to just hate Nurse to death.
And when playing Sally, sometimes your blink won't go through a certain place and you will lose the chase.

You want to start another salty thread, don't you?

Naah, i was just expressing how sad i find it, how the devs get a lot of toxic comments. For something they have no control over.

Also, the devs said between 2 and 3 weeks. Today ends the deadline. Once the deadline passed, people can start to complain. But complain before the announced deadline passed?

    That´s just childish.

I agree, but it's not like this situation is completely out of their hands. They got rejected because there was a bug or something.

Well, the bug was not intentional. Those might slip through the quality control.
That´s also why they explained from the start. That the release of the patch could be somewhere in the next 2-3 weeks. So far they didn´t lie. Unexpected things happen.
People are used to get everything they want, whenever they want. But unexpected things happen and can delay deadlines. We are all human beings, and there is no one who never made a mistake. But people act like it.

But understanding the frustration won't hurt anyone though. The clown is available for playing for about a month now, but they've got no chance. When I consider this, I can see why they are not satisfied with the current situation.

What's up with the ACTUAL MINDGAMES thing? You are a better killer just because you can walk backwards and then swing at a pallet? You have some Nurse complex or something, that makes you hate her?

I just asked you, why you like playing him. That's all. I didn't ask for a video session full of bigotry.

I can also show you some really good blinks that are hard to pull off. (Unfortunately I can't right now, cuz I am not at home lol)

My point is, that you cannot nerf skill.
If you think that you can, then tell me your suggested nerfs to her. Everybody can complain, but very few will make any suggestions.
  • What do you even complain about?
When survivors meet a baby Nurse, they will ruin her life completely with T-bags, flashlights and you can bet that the game will take way more time than with a good Nurse, because survivors will refuse to repair any generators just to make the nurse suffer even longer.

But when they meet a good Nurse? Holy Moly, now there's an astronomical difference. Toxic threads, crying...
  • Proving my independecy, but ruining someone else's game isn't something I want to do.

Isn't devotion earned after the level 100? Or is it divided in Devotion levels and Devotion points?

They don’t play her to “get rid” of most of the mechanics. They play her to get rid of only Looping. A Survivor can still fake a window vault or Pallet Drop.

The only reason she’s “easy mode” after mastering her, is because Survivors have become so wholly dependent on Looping to waste time, in order to save thier asses, they hit the floor like a sack of potatoes when they can’t do it. It’s lack of adaptation on the Survivors part. Once they lose the Looping card, they are helpless because none of them learned to Stealth and Juke properly. That’s not the Nurses fault. The Survivors rely too much on thier crutch mechanic of Looping. If they don’t have it, it all falls apart for them.

Its not the Nurse that’s the problem, it’s the Survivors who refuse to learn anything but Looping Killers. She’s only “easy mode” once mastered because Survivors are too reliant on thier one “EZ Win” stall tactic. The whole Killer tier list is dependent on how well a Killer deals with Looping. You can even see it in 2.0 how lost Survivors are without just the vacuum. It started with infinite’s, moved to Looping. They are completely stuck in thier “meta” and when it fails, they just cry about it.

Stop blaming the Nurse for the Survivors incompetence.

The argument "It's not nurse, it's other players", is the exact same argument survivors use. "Killers need to adapt and get better". Pure relativism and a blatant non-argument.
A god nurse is about impossible to lose/juke properly except some rare setup where she actually has to use mindgames to find you, which is very oftenly not the case since 80% of the map are very opened or/and offer very few variation choices, and most of these variations can be corrected via her multiple blinks.

It has been more than 2 years now. People adapted for a while to Nurse, and she's still god tier. It's just nurse, nothing else.

Seeing that you are a Hillbilly attorney, can I ask you a question (out of pure curiosity)?
I heard from many players, that Sally is boring to play as. What is so exciting about playing Hillbilly? To me, he seems to be a M1 killer that sometimes uses his power. (This is the reason I play Nurse, because I have to use her power).
  • cTrix said:

The only reason nurse isn't played by every single person right now is because her blinks give you motion sickness or headaches. Great [BAD WORD] design devs.

So playing as a character I love to play as makes me automatically toxic? Hello, logic?

And not every game is 4k. If survivors can hide well enough, they can escape.

  • Well I (and I think it also applies for @SovererignKing ) am a console Nurse, so it's not definitely an easy mode. It's possible for PC, but not for console.

I have never understood the need to say that Nurse is practically brainless. Everyone that is a godlike Nurse had to play her for a long time. You know how it feels when I have mastered her? All I get are messages like "Stupid tryhard", "Cheater", "easy mode", "only losers play her" etc.

    This community can't appreciate anything.
  • Plagues7 said:

I’m not sure reverting the Nurse is the solution. I think the solution is having the game balanced (slightly) differently on console. As examples they could up her base move speed, reduce the post blink stun, or add an additional blink that could make her move viable on console. Unfortunately the FPS rate may be more of an base XB1 issue, as PS4 and XBX don’t seem to have that problem.

I know some PS4 players that have even worse FPS than some Xbox users. I am on XBOX1 S and it's ok. ~27 FPS

IMO, the problem is, that the illusions now stand and face the position the survivor had when they spawned (if that makes sense). But if they were walking towards them, it would show the doctor the exact survivor's location. This is the main problem.
