If you're a chill kinda player, have you ever played any game with someone that turned out to be an obnoxious person that gets mad and behaves poorly? I have, and it makes you not really want to play with them anymore if you're actually looking to chill. The only people that will keep playing with someone that's a jerk for a long time, are people with jerkish tendencies themselves.
It's really not rocket science, and not something dbd, survivor or streamer exclusive at all.
And also only your 4th point will always be bannable on Twitch. 3 can be bannable depending on how gross the "trash talk" is, 2 is not bannable on twitch but might be bannable in the game itself (as far as taking the game hostage is concerned) and 1 won't get them in trouble on twitch or in the game in any way.
-
Moris were along with keys a relic from a time of far more unrestrained "rarity = power" philosophy, that quickly became a complete meme as the "rare" things aren't actually rare at all when people play for hundreds if not thousands of hours, and dump millions of BP into the same character.
Do you know what era first-hook moris are from? Or to be more precise, what exact patch they're from? The same patch that """balanced""" BNPs by making them the "rapid skillchecks until the gen is done" version. The version where with great skillchecks you could complete a gen with one in 20 seconds, and the survivors could bring 4 of them. BNPs going from literal "press m2 to instantly finish the gen" to the skillcheck spam version and moris requiring 1 hook instead of 0 both happened in patch 1.5.3.
They're in the past now, and they should stay there along with that era's BNPs and other wacky stuff. They have no place in current DBD, and the devs pretty clearly want them to be more of an optional fancy alternative to the final hook. Which isn't fully cosmetic by the way, it still allows you to bypass DS if a survivor on death hook has it active, and lets you save a hook from being broken by the sacrifice too (on top of the immunity to flashlight/pallet saves, sabo plays, bodyblocks and whatever else).
-
That's Steam Achievement Manager, most likely.
You can report it if you want, but considering it has been around since 2008 and I have never heard of a single person getting banned for it... yeah, unless they combine it with any in-game cheating I doubt anything will happen.
-
No for a very simple reason: no matter how you detect bodyblocking, that can screw over someone that in no way tries to bodyblock at all.
If it's the most extreme option, their character simply obstructing the killer at all, the killer just has to bump into them enough to disable their perks.
If you use protection hits, that's still flawed for multiple reasons. Firstly, any unhook with an injured survivor anywhere nearby sets the unhooked up for taking a "protection" hit. It would make perks meant to help vs camping/tunneling get countered... by sticking close enough to the hook to injure anyone going for the save, then tunneling the unhooked immediately.
And that's not even the most frustrating one, imagine being unhooked, killer's on you, you actually make it away from the person that unhooked you and then you get hit and go down with endurance still active. You wonder why, and then it hits you - there's an injured Meg around that corner, or an injured Claudette in the bush. Neither you or the killer knew they were there, but they're injured and near you so you just took a """protection""" hit for them.
If you want to go down this route, it's a far better option to simply remove the ability to bodyblock by letting the killer walk through them. Not a perfect solution either as I guess the killer could walk through them to block a window in order to tunnel them, but at least it doesn't put a survivor at risk of losing their self-defense perk because some random injured survivor was in the same tile as them when they got hit. Getting hit at all with an injured survivor within 10 meters is automatically a protection hit if I remember right.
-
Personally as someone that just clicks find match and tab out until I hear the match start, I'd love it if it just skipped the lobby. Probably an unpopular opinion though, that's for sure.
And yeah backfilling issues really need to be fixed. Pretty sure the devs have stated they're aware of it and want to improve it. While I totally get that any matchmaking system is basically a dance between "quality" and speed, it should really chill out a little bit as lobbies where 3 of the survivors originally there get replaced and 2 killers come and go very often end up being clown fiestas.
-
Yes I would love having my BT cancelled because I got hit while there was an injured Claudette in a bush nearby the killer didn't even know was there, sounds fantastic. Protection hits are an awful idea both for that reason and because as long as you play to hit the unhooker on the way to the hook, the hit you land on the freshly unhooked survivor will be a protection hit every time lol. So in the case of BT it makes the counter to a perk/mechanic intended to help with camping and tunneling... camping and tunneling.
For full heals eh I honestly don't think it's necessary, but I wouldn't really mind it either. Might make We'll Make It gamers sad as people hold shift and run away from them to keep their DS/OTR/whatever though, which sounds like a very epic solo queue moment indeed.
-
It's no different to if they trash talked using any other perk, just using stuff that's in the game either way.
And no, I don't like trash talk. But there's no difference in how "justified" it is based on what they do as long as they don't cheat or something.
-
Honestly really confusing change, I'm certain a majority would be perfectly content with simply the endgame disable change + touching gates disabling it.
And as already mentioned in the thread, yeah both 5 seconds and 3 seconds isn't fully honest as you can't actually run away for all of that time. But obviously the time lost to the "getting off the shoulder" animation makes up a much bigger fraction of "3 seconds" than "5 seconds". With the current stun you lose 26% of those seconds to the animation, with "3 seconds" you lose 43.3%.
-
Bringing up Knock Out as a good perk vs SWF? What?
EDIT: Not saying it doesn't work for you, but if it does that pretty much means you're going against SWF teams that can't even be bothered to say "I'm down in shack" once they realize you have knock out on the first down. Believe me those are not the teams that should be giving you any trouble.
-
Just make it show the other survivors in the match that the guy on the hook has it. That's a good first change, if it needs further changes that can be done later.
-
Making it disable in endgame was enough without the shorter stun time imo

Not even that, the very moment you fix a gen the hatch is getting closed and EGC started, there is no way you get from genA to genB in time to fix them both before someone presses space.
The gate situation is its only use, but then Wake Up does pretty much the same and doors either can get opened without any of those perks or are close enough you cant open them no matter what because they are seconds away and you will be spotted anyway.
The perk has been buffed? sure, it was completely useless before, has been buffed to a level where its anything more than garbage? nah, its still a very bad perk.
In no way denying the overwhelming majority of the time the hatch is either escaped through or closed once it gets found, but I have seen killers just standing on it looking for the last survivor. Even after a gen pops, even after 3 gens pop. Not closing it until the gates are powered. But extremely rare for sure.
I still believe it's a bad perk, but it actually has a purpose where it can have some impact which is kinda amusing to me because... it's Sole Survivor, lmao. A perk that has been even worse than this new version since forever, one of the perks up there with Monstrous Shrine and the like on the pedestal of bad.
-
I feel it all depends on what kind of endurance it is. There's 2 types in the game, the more common "Take a hit and enter deep wounds", and the Mettle of Man "completely no-sell the hit" type of endurance. The former I'm pretty sure has built in anti-synergy as if you're in deep wounds from one, you go down on the next hit no matter what (unless it's a Legion frenzy hit I guess lol). Because deep wounds is not the same as the injured state as far as perk activation is concerned.
-
The gen speed part is just kinda weird, but I mean IF you end up in the situation where there's several gens left and the killer camps hatch it's undeniably useful if you aim to 99/do gens in an attempt to either make the killer give up and close it or turn on the gates the usual way.
The gate opening speed is genuinely strong in a 1v1 scenario. Do the usual "Do the gate until the first light is about to turn on, hide, wait until the killer comes to check + leave, commit to the gate" thing and being able to open the gate faster will make even trickier gate spawns doable this way. Still doubt a lot of people will spend a perk slot on it though.
EDIT: And I guess I should specify, I believe in that particular scenario it's strong but still 100% fine. I'm in no way saying it's problematic or anything, gate 1v1s are like 90% gate spawn rng, what killer you're against, and if they have whispers in which case rip.

I just play normally, but with the added bonus that I might get to review my gameplay from another perspective after the match. Which is neat and can be quite educational as well 🙂
-
I'm sorry but Rust out of all games? Maybe your experience was different to mine but that game has some of the most absolutely unhinged people I've ever encountered in games in it. Especially on official servers/servers advertised as "serious".
Even the biggest ego in DBD is microscopic compared to the celestial body sized egos I encountered in that game.

Dude I swear they've slowed down clicking, some people have said they haven't but it feels way slower on the event flashlights.
maybe it's just me.
It's weird, I got in a little clicking contest with another survivor and trying to "manually" click as fast as possible with my mouse certainly felt like using some semi auto gun in a game where it has a fire rate cap. Meanwhile they suddenly defeated me by whipping out what I can only assume is a macro/mousewheel keybind, that thing where they don't even bring up their flashlight but they make constant bursts of clicking noises.
I honestly don't know what to believe 😄

The chat currently censors Yun-Jin and Myers... I get what you're saying and I don't disagree but the filter would have to be flawless. I get censored all the time saying only nice things!
Oh yeah, for what I'm talking about it would have basically nothing to do with the system that's responsible for such gems, should've made that very very clear. Even if it would only be words that in absolutely no imaginable way can lead to a false ban, it would still catch out a surprising amount of clowns that just straight up type them in chat.
-
There's one thing that should have autobans, but they shouldn't even require a report: People saying stuff that's already bannable in chat.
There's already a system ****ing chat messages. Don't even need some fancy and clever system trying to see context or whatever, I don't think that's very relevant if someone just straight up says the n-word or to off themselves. Just instantly apply the punishment they'd get for that behavior if reported + punished the old fashioned way.
For basically anything else it's not a good idea without some kinda wacky "cleverness" that I really don't want to leave in the hands of an automated system.
-
Honestly very normal with the exception of one game. Some odd player in a match with 5x Flan that camped, immediately ate BT upon unhook, then ate DS upon down + pickup and disconnected at honestly impressive speed after the DS hit. Like before the survivor on their shoulder even got their feet on the ground, it was that fast. You know those clips of people raging at Call of Duty navigating the menu to the quit game option so fast that if you blink you miss it? Yeah, like that.
Also 2 matches that had nothing to do (as far as I can know for sure) with players, but were just Unlucky. 5x Flan, and less than a minute into the match everyone starts running into walls and then the entire match drops with a "you need an internet connection" error + restart because of EAC error :(. I'm pretty sure it wasn't just me as it happened to my duo partner in both matches too, and the killer (who was a streamer) in one of them.
-
I don't really care if people "sweat", bit it's weirdomax supreme behavior if someone makes it blatantly obvious their primary objective is "haha lets deny people event stuff epic".
Luckily I haven't seen anything that truly looks like it so far this event, but no shortage of it in the past. No matter if that's the real old event hook sabo or stuff that isn't technically just plain gone yet like a killer just sitting on an event gen, survivors dcing to deny event hooks, instantly switching target off me when they're 5 seconds from downing me to chase, hook and facecamp a glowing survivor they saw in a previous event, or someone that I saw load in as killer and insta-DC in 4 cake (everyone but them) matches enough to think they did it full time one of the years.
-
I will never understand to be honest. Once I realized that BP offerings don't only turn a great BP game into a fantastic BP game, but they also turn a meh (think like 10-14k) BP game into a decent or better BP game depending on the amount of them, I no longer really cared about maximizing points while using such offerings. No matter what, I'm getting at least double BP gain efficiency, while some weirdomax people go out of their way to play more "anti-BP gain" the more cakes they see the majority of the time the match would've gone the same way no matter if there's 0 cakes or 5 cakes anyway, with the exception of a lot of cakes increasing the odds of straight up farming being initiated.
-
Why would rank reset and not playing killer for a few days have anything to do with the survivors you get? "Rank" reset aka grade reset has nothing to do with matchmaking, and even if MMR decay exists in DBD it probably wouldn't kick in after as little as a few days.
-
Hey I don't know if you're aware of this, but there's plenty of reasons people might run private profiles or private profile elements (comments, comment permission, game details (hours/achievements), friends list) that has absolutely nothing to do with DBD. You're not entitled to a single breadcrumb of information someone might choose to display on their profile, you're only entitled to the exact amount of information they decide to share.
You're not only engaging in weird privacy shaming of the most "you don't need privacy if you got nothing to hide haha!" type there is, but you even admit to grossly false report people, potentially wasting someone working on Steam's community elements time. If anyone deserves to be banned it's you.
-
Gonna start real simple here and simply hope they actually care about the information my Kindred gives them. Don't leave your gens vs Ruin to race for the save on me from the other side of the map, don't go one by one to see if the obviously camping killer will suddenly decide to leave 5 seconds before I die on hook, use the auras to meet up and heal up first when that makes more sense than individually trying to riskily save me while injured and ending up with 2 slugs near the hook too.
-
Kinda neutral on the perk changes as I'm sure there will be a mix of interesting ones and kinda meh ones (which is fine, some perks need more radical changes, others just need a little tweak or two), excited and optimistic about the "slight base game changes". Might just be the excitement talking, but while perk changes are relatively common the kinda base changes "changing the meta" implies makes me real curious and I hope they're good, smart changes.

not going to defend salty comment but your whole post assume they base their profile around DBD.
Also very good point!
I have a friend with some really expensive and rare CSGO stuff, and he attracts scammers and phishers. They didn't only add him, they also posted shady links in his comments (some of them got past Steam's filter too) or tried to add his friends (including me) in an attempt to account hijack and then impersonate us to get to the "target".
It makes perfect sense he put his comments and friends list to friends only. I wouldn't want to risk getting anyone clicking a shady link in MY profile comments to potentially get in trouble either, or have my friends get bothered by shady people. I'm sure he doesn't really care if that means privacy shaming dbd players will assume he's hiding pages of -rep cheater comments or he plays in a 4man every survivor match he plays.
-
They don't need the "right" to do so. If you ask me they shouldn't to begin with as they're either just being a jerk or feeding some weirdo that gets off on "farming salt", but if they decide to do so their profile privacy settings are irrelevant.
The way some in this community seem to feel genuinely entitled to seeing the profiles, friends list, hours and to have comment permissions on the profiles of strangers is just plain weird, even without getting into the strange general "Privacy shaming" you see at times ("you wouldn't have a private profile if you're not hiding you're a cheater/you're swf/you have high hours/you have malicious intentions!")
-
Send them to my lobby, I love being able to review my gameplay from another perspective.
Might just be because my bar for declaring something a "bad experience" is stricter than the average, but I can genuinely count the bad experiences I've had with TTVs on like, one hand. Because when I say bad experience, I pretty much mean behavior that could genuinely get them banned from Twitch (and in at least one case, that's exactly what happened)

I got the proof that this achievement is borken and if you got it you just cheated and claimed it with a hack
I'm sure it can be broken in some bizarre way, but I watched my friend get the achievement while streaming his matches to me.
So it's not even just broken in a tidy, consistent way that can be reproduced in that case. It's even "better", in that case it's broken in an inconsistent way!
-
They're not weird, they're perfectly consistent.
Every single condition is something the player with DS in question has control over. They can't be screwed out of their DS by teammates or be too encouraged to screw their teammates over to keep DS. Of course some people still do, but at least we don't have stuff like the guy with DS refusing the juicy We'll Make It heal or holding shift/console equivalent to not get picked up as a slug because they don't want to lose DS.
It's set up so if you deactivate your DS, you basically told the game "I no longer want/need DS active". And no one else can "say" it for you.
-
They're just trolls.
Trying to assign any more meaning to it is at best a waste of time, at worst some kinda completely mindbroken "psychoanalysis" assigning people mental illnesses and childhood traumas because they act annoying in a video game. Not worth it either way.
-
For the same reason survivors can sprint burst off into the sunset after being pulled off a hook they were impaled on, it's just how the Entity wants it or something. Lets be real Nemesis probably wouldn't care about having a pallet bonked on his head and the survivors could just gang up on any Legion member and beat them up.
And for gameplay reasons, obviously so the survivor actually gains anything else than instantly going back on the ground by wiggling off, and wiggling in itself primarily exists so the killer can't always choose exactly which hook they want for every downed survivor.
-
I mean in theory someone could get banned, but only if they actively get other survivors screwed over in the process. For example if they actively sandbag a survivor that unhooked them earlier to get the "unhook someone that unhooked you earlier" challenge done and doing the sandbagging in a bannable way like blocking them in a corner until crows bring the killer over, or in general bannably sandbag people to get survivors to unhook, or try to work together with the killer to get this done. But I can't say I've ever seen this in my life, lol.
But in general obviously no one is gonna get banned just because they spend all game doing totems, chests or trying to hide within 10 meters of the killer. That's no different to how someone won't get banned for not saving someone even if it's 100% safe to do so, "work together... or not!" and all of that.
-
I tend to just go by a "I say gg if I very seriously feel it was a good game, or my opponent(s) said it first" at this point. Which still leaves me saying a bunch of gg as people seem to do it quite often.
And I'm someone that finds it straight up wild people view it as anything more than a very basic "thanks for playing" kinda statement. Probably because I've been saying it after multiplayer matches online for a lot of years at this point.
People worrying someone is saying gg "ironically" or something is the most confusing. This is a game where you can spam GGEZ KEKW UNINSTALL SCRUB at 10 lines per second after every single match for a year without ever getting banned. If people want to troll they don't have to be subtle about it. If someone means to say git gud, they're gonna say git gud.
-
There is one, they get hit.
Use Starstruck if you want people to not even try. And if they actually take a down to get someone else off your shoulder that's just plain respectable, especially if the one sacrificing themselves have more hook states left than the carried survivor - that's just being a good teammate.
Use Mad Grit if you get goofy survivors trying to bodyblock even when it doesn't really make sense.
Use Forced Penance if you get actually good survivors that bodyblock intelligently and properly.
-
The moonlight offerings.
-
Counteroffer: the complete annihilation of map offerings (or "reversing" them, so they let you pick a map to NOT get)
-
Most often seems to happen when a lobby lingers with people joining/leaving/dodging for a while. It's a known issue, an already existing lobby missing players seems to be bumped up to "fill it by any means necessary" status as far as matchmaking is concerned.
-
I didn't even know, but I am actually in the process of getting all perks on Steve atm. I've been playing him as that leads to BP offerings on him.
-
Well, might as well give it a shot. I do actually agree that even if people get more information it doesn't mean they'll use it in any way, and that the people that think it will "make playing vs solos like playing vs swf!!" are just plain silly.
But it's the only alternative to doing absolutely nothing EVER about swf, as obviously stuff like directly nerfing it, letting people opt out of playing it or delusional stuff like removing it obviously won't happen in a billion years. It's see where the "buff solo and balance around it" path goes, or just shrugging and saying "lol cope or quit, no changes :)"
-
Simply make the actual light effects less noticable or even have a toggle to remove them entirely (photosensitivity accessibility option). I'd imagine the "smoother" change in brightness during an actual flashlight blind is fine as it isn't rapidly flashing lights.
Absolutely zero need to actually nerf flashlights, just attack the actual issue head on. While I don't think the clicking sound is a potential hazard I wouldn't mind if there was a way to mute that either, just make it a toggle as personally I really appreciate it when a survivor I'm not even chasing is kind enough to say "Hey, just letting you know I'm NOT on a gen mister killer!" 😄
-
If you want to compare it to anything, it's sorta like the reason why they put a cooldown on how often Soul Guard can proc.
Will you ever get up with soul guard twice in that timespan in anything resembling normal gameplay? No, probably not. But with a team entirely specced into doing that, with WGLF, other healing sources and whatever else, you could get absolute clownfests where people basically got picked up faster than the killer could recover from hitting them.
Would not changing it impact more than an incredibly tiny amount of matches? No. But it was still the right call to make the change, and the same goes for the Pig change.
-
It tends to do an ...alright/10 job until either lobby dodge backfills or queue times that reach the "screw it, find this player ANY match as that's better than no match" point get involved. Then things get Wacky real fast. But that's great news to hear that's his experience though!
-
No, I think it's an insane idea and believing there's an infinitesimally tiny but non-zero chance of it ever happening is delusional.
The devs didn't go for the "buff solo then balance around that" long-term approach for no reason. It was always the only approach to "doing something" about SWF that ever had a chance of happening. If someone is unhappy with that but they ever typed a sentence that looked like "do something about swf", they're simply getting exactly what they asked for.
-
If anything I find it kinda weird to do so. Always seems to be for no other reason than to stamp someone as a <role> main and then use that as an arguement to why they're wrong and smelly, which is complete thread poison to begin with.
-
Really should be a toggle for it in customs for this exact reason.
Guess you can always just add a survivor bot. Sure it will eventually finish the gens, but it at least makes the match last a while.
-
Bouqet, green styptic + lens, brown and yellow map offerings. Nice.
-
The BP parts of BBQ and WGLF. They both encourage the kinda stuff that is part of the type of match a lot of people probably consider ideal (not going full gens before friends for survivor, getting everyone hooked as killer) and while it's by no means a grind fix it wouldn't hurt.
-
Spirit. I dunno, I just don't enjoy using her power and I never did, doesn't matter how well I do while using it I just have more fun playing almost any other killer in the game.
Twins, for a similar reason. I don't find controlling Victor enjoyable at all and when that's the case there's not much point playing Twins to begin with.
