Oh no....our killers....their broken.
But in all seriousness as others have said, survivor ques start really slowing down on US east around 9pm and start picking back up at 4am. After 5am you will have basically instant que times until 5-6pm where you might wait a couple minutes for 3 hours until 9 when they get bad.

Many totem spawn placements are bad. Some places are hard to see, but predictable. Those places that not predictable is out of nowhere.
But one of the reasons is the possibility of survivors spawn near either Gen or Totem. And its really easy to explain why.

Killer perspective: put a killer away from 4 survivors. You can put them 50m away from each other and still have space
Survivor perspective: tell me how do you put these 16 subjects away from each other in a 8500m square map? If divine the area to 16. Each of them are just 23m apart. Means the time rate to start objective for survivors is 6sec.
I've frequently read through the forums and often have thought about this. Many people argue for smaller maps, better totem spawns, survivors not spawning on gens, ect.
Most of these conflict with each other in some way.
-
I play both.
However I enjoy survivor alot more and not for any particular reason that I can come up with, I started the game with survivor and have stuck with it. Im not always huge on gens when I play survivor, I go for memes and flashlight saves but I try to do like 1 1/2 gens before I do just to be productive and helpful. This comes with being called toxic but I'm just enjoying the game.
As far as killer, sometimes I feel like I play just to prove that I can. Some have really fun powers like blight(my favorite) that I just like going for cool plays with. Some of the killers may be decent and I do get good results but their power just FEELS so boring.
-
Yeah I agree with others, alot of other ways to go about this. I probably would have just zoned them away from shack by breaking the pallet after they threw it.
-
Lol yup everyone on the forums thinks survivors are worse because its all killers here. Killers are literally just as bad.
Why do you think no one takes the forums seriously? This place is literally a meme and echo chamber. Try having a survivor sided opinion and you have 10 people down your throat. This place is literally dbd reddit except no memes and alot more whining.
-
Eh im not too concerned about it tbh. I really enjoy both sides but obviously have my gripes about both sides, however I have to agree with some people here, if you have a survivor sided opinion you immediately have 10 people jumping down your throat and that im sure has alot to do with survivors not being on the forum.
With all that being said, DBD continues to peak at around 70k players a day on steam alone, no telling how many on consoles, epic, switch, and others. 45k average a day on steam which is 10k higher than a year ago and the 70k peak is 20k higher than a year ago. People come and go and will continue to do so.
-
It has a string effect however its even more situational than unbreakable. I've seen it a total on like 2 times since release and it got exactly 0 value.
Its just a peek that will be clutch every couple hundred games.
-
I've never understood why people get so upset at this. Its in like every multi-player pvp game.
I honestly think some people should take a break from pvp games and this game in general to figure themselves out lol.
-
Cant really be upset, COH completely counters hit and run, which is good to have a counter for, so killers need counters to the healing meta which is fair.
However I would still personally like to see buffs to certain killer perks to counter other survivor strategies. Maybe even make brutal strength alot faster, might be easier than balancing maps if they just more counterclaim in another way.
-
Nothing really sets me off but if I had to pick one it would be getting tagged by a bad looper, and specifically a bad looper.
Firstly, good loopers hardly ever teabag in my experience but the bad ones will just prethrow ultra safe pallets and teabag in their little safe bubble. Though as soon as they make it to a semi mind game able pallet they get downed quite easily.
-
Its the worst at the bottom of MMR spectrum and the top of the MMR spectrum.
They start the game and win all of their games to high MMR where they eventually get banned and go right back to low MMR on a new account. Despite what alot of people think, they are indeed banning tons daily, its just too easy to restart and there isn't much they can do about that considering vpns, spoofers, tracer cleaners, ect.
Then there's alot of people who just get accused of hacking because they are good, its happened to basically every streamer I watch and hell even to me a time or two.
-
Yeah I had this happen recently actually during a game on the map, the game, aka pallet city.
I was running vigil, sprint burst, and fixated. The other survivor kept body blocking me, I even think they where on comms because they would down the survivor or hold them on their shoulders and then would walk straight to where I was. Long story short, I kept the match going for roughly another 25 minutes by somehow continually losing them with sprint burst ect. They where at bleed out timer the last time they tried to find me and died, and I found the hatch :)
-
Can we stop saying you use dead hard when you where "outplayed" in most scenarios its total nonsense, they greeded that pallet or window on purpose.
Also getting rid of deadhard would make nurse and blight in particular way stronger and I dont think we necessarily need that.
Deadhard is so easy to wait out 90 percent of the time aswell.
And honestly that just sounds like a noed buff if anything, the totem hardly last 20 seconds as is. It would be devour hope with no way of knowing until end game.
-
Eh most decent killers still 4k at high MMR and just complain about how "hard" the survivors made it. This just seems like another one of those post tbh.
The fact remains that if your only getting sweat squads and losing every game, your MMR is dropping significantly and you will be vsing normal players again. Most people just get stomped a couple games in a row and come to the forums to complain because someone got under their skin.
I agree with most people when they say if you don't want to play sweaty, that's entirely up to you, however you shouldn't just be able to bring a meme fun build and win vs sweat lords. So if you want to chill, bring a chill build and just do you, if you want to bring the strongest perks In the game, go for it .
I play killer and survivor and have my gripes about both sides, mainly map balancing and how some tiles that spawn can be way too survivor sided, which if im sweating as killer sucks but when I'm chilling it literally makes no difference how the match ends.
-
Okay so if kill rates would skyrocket because its removal that means its fair and balanced.
Or are all killers just better than all survivors and not boosted by any of their perks?
-
If you struggle with finding survivors in the beginning I guess it's helpful. I can 98% of the time tell you where survivors spawned.
-
The problem with that map is its poorly designed. You almost can't just remove pallets because of wierd spacing, other than obvious places like the double god pallet by basement. The whole map needs redesigned so pallets have a work around.

@DemonDaddy said:
Tunneling is not an issue that needs correction. It's the survivor's responsibility to avoid the killer and escape chases, if your caught the killer is not obligated to let you make the match more difficult by facilitating a safe getaway.
One could say that the killers objective is to protect the generators to ensure the exit gates never get powered. So therefore quick gens don't need to be solved?
I agree with OP in many games, especially tough ones, tunneling often will grant 2 kills. Camping isn't quite as effective, but if the team is being efficient and trying to finish a gen first, the killer coming back to interrupt a save and force struggle to then just kill them off hook is so incredibly effective and works on strong teams. So during that time the killer chased someone off a generator and probably took a health state from them to then leave chase and force 2nd, then kill.
You can go to any stream and see this happen all day, because it is so effective even against super strong players. If you make it harder to do the gens then even strong teams will be 3kd or even 4kd consistently against an equally skilled killer.
So I do agree with op and I also agree with others in rebalancing maps, some more filler pallets and less pallet gyms or nerfing HOP loops.
-
My tell tell sign im playing a cracked blight is no ruin, probably running something like enduring, brutal, im all ears, basically only running information perks.
-
Idk much about console but can you not just buy a code for like 5$ ? I see a bunch of people selling codes on different websites.

Sometimes "outplayed" is as simple as "favourable map and spawns". Which is not a good situation.
Sure to get screwed by rng sucks and also happens to both sides. Either way im a huge believer in map rebalancing. But I was just attempting to adress the game also isn't balanced around having balanced maps. Maps need to be smaller, but at the same time people want better totem spawns, gen locations are already incredibly close on some maps. It just brings more problems and almost just makes me wonder if making map pressure easier in another way than making maps smaller.
Hard to come up with a solution that doesn't make the top end killers so much stronger and also make more killers viable.
-
The game has balance issues on both sides. Depending on which side you ask you'll get a different answer.
Both sides will continue to cry even when they win, just the nature of forums and this community I guess.
Most streamers still win most of their games but they get upset with how much harder it is than before, this applies to huge killer streamers and huge survivors streamers.
If they made maps balanced they would have to completely get rid of tactics that are too strong or would be assuming the game where balanced better, also matchmaking would have to be truly fixed.
A large issue is, with proper matchmaking and balance, the games are still going to be incredibly hard to get more than a 2k and it should be. Most people act like all the players they play against are so bad and the only reason they lose is because the other side is OP. No one on the forums EVER gets outplayed.
-
Lol I can't wait for dead hard to get nerfed and then of the good survivors actually start playing sweaty and using sprint burst, overcome, and lithe.
Next post "exhaustion perks need to be deleted"
If a survivor sees you coming even from a short distance, you'll have to hold w roughly 30 secs to even maybe get a hit or just be met at a pallet. No more catching survivors in dead zones, it just would be worse for killers than dead hard but sure im all up for an experiment.
-
I just don't care alot anymore, both sides whine about everything. I play both sides and whine about stuff but I try to be nuanced. Survivors will win and cry about camping tunneling to try and get a kill then killers will 4k and cry about how hard it was and why so and so should be nerfed because it was too hard.
I just play and have fun :)
-
Eh iron will is strong but I think its balanced. Its not a super meta perk. Its not that hard to track people with visual cues.
-
Nice post
-
The people hacking already have new accounts within 5 minutes and they only spend 2$ on it lol , making the game F2P wouldn't change the amount of hackers in my opinion. If you check any modding forum ect they are indeed getting banned which keeps me optimistic. With a game this popular it will always be a problem they have to continue to fight. Almost every big title has hackers they have to continually ban and thats the future for dbd aswell.
I think its a great idea personally. It would bring new people in which is always great. We need more ideas, opinions ect.

Hot take: Any form of competitive dbd is just a normal game with money as a reward. Dbd is not fit for competitive.
I mean i definitely enjoy the comp scene, as others do. The reason comp works is because each team plays both sides with limited perks ect. That's why we see perks with less rng like corrupt, pop, noed, no way out.
I can see why some people don't like it but there is for sure alot of fun to be had in being competitive.
-
Yeah I have to agree I couldn't go back to the old matchmaking for survivor. Kill rates hovered from 65-75% for the last matchmaking system in red ranks.
Even with MMR most killers are preforming fine, they just don't enjoy how sweaty every single game is to win. Which I understand myself, however it does seem like it more objectively fair results.
I've tried thinking of ways to make everyone happy, and casual mode ect but every solution has another 100 possible problems.
-
IMO noed is the strongest hex perk and has super synergy with no way out, as seen in most comp games. Obviously that opinions shift for different killers, mainly s tier killers. That being said, if you have 4 survivors alive when noed procks, you might secure a 2k most of the time, likely will still be a 1k.
Obviously none of this is fact just a guess as to how it would end. Sometimes 4k sometimes 0k.
-
Honestly I'd rather see wraith get a buff. I think the lunge might have been a bit much especially with the hit and run play style, I'd like to see his uncloak/cloaking speed be faster without add ons. Anything to shake up the meta at the top, I play 50/50 survivor and killer, the existence of nurse, blight, and spirit should make it easy to buff some weaker killers. Not that every killer should be that level but some are so far from the top they could move at 125% movement speed and probably still not be broken.
-
Very nuanced take, exactly what this community needs.
-
Idk that I would say main but as others have said if its fun.
Recently ill load into a game, make sure I do 1 1/2 gens and then I focus on flashlight saves and meming. I've been running urban evasion, vigil, and sprint burst and following chases and ill run in for the save, just as the killer can start to see again im urban evasioning myself behind a rock lmao.
Mind you im playing scoops ahoy steve.

I really curious where you are getting this info that the devs supposedly said mmr has made a difference in killers build cause I play both sides pretty much 50/50 and nowadays I see more meta builds then ever
Before I would say every 1/10 games someone would bring a fun build
Now I would say 1/30 or 1/40 games do I see anything other then meta
I guess my experience just differs from you, I also play roughly 50/50 and the only difference really is I have harder killer games and better teammates as survivor. Thats not 100 percent though, I still get the occasional potatoes. Most of the time I get them when I play survivor vs when I'm playing killer I expect most of them to be quite good.
-
Mmr was put in place basically for solo Q because the majority of killers where already running the super sweaty builds. As was shown by the dev statistics, solo q was getting dominated most of the time. According to the devs mmr has made a difference in those statistics which is good, and a step in the right direction.
Now they may come and fix other issues as they are gaining new information based on the matchmaking, they are also making an effort to change the meta.
Its slow but I'm optimistic that they have more information than anyone on the forums and will take the initiative to bring it out level assuming survivors are always winning like the forums suggest.
The games are sweatier at high mmr killer and I think there should be a casual mode. The mode would have extremely limited perks if not no perks or addons aloud. That would be the only way to really make it casual or you would just have sweaty people joining casual to win.
There's always the option to drop mmr and play how you want to have fun, many already do, killers and survivors included. But alot of people also like the competitive nature at the top, if your playing vs 4 really good survivors your going to have to play really good and sweaty to 2k, that is exactly what the dev kinda indicate they are shooting for.
As for people switching roles, I haven't noticed basically any cue time differences. People always come to forums or reddit and spread fear but I've never seen an in game difference on US east, other than hourly difference.
P.s dev kept autocorrecting to devil and made me chuckle.

You mean hiding in a bush at the corner of the map?
I almost prefer urban evaders over bad loopers lol. Atleast they won't waste any resources and they are cute. Also bad loopers tend to teabag more than others for some reason XD.
-
Why would I need to see survivor auras? I already know they are running directly to the generator im working on, prethrowing every pallet on the way.
-
Does it look healthy/fun? Probably not.
However it does look close to fair, I have to imagine for solo q the average kills gets a decent bit higher. I'd like to see the next statistics come out from bhvr.
Alot of the games Probably had tunneling involved to get said kills but if you slow the game down so killer can chase, it doesnt stop killers from tunneling. Alot of player actually just enjoy seeing people get upset from it on both sides.
They have to fix alot of problems or they will just keep problem shifting like they did with deadhard, instead of being exhausted on the ground now killers get a visual bug. Also the nemesis power bug that will likely be fixed and if its not then its likely how they intend it to work which is entirely up to them.
-
If you where on any azarov or MacMillan map vs a good hugteching blight its gg. Any blight that hugtechs can most lively zflick aswell so extra ggs lol. Granted I've noticed alot more hacking blights and killers/survivors, however its soo much harder to tell with killers because basically none of the hacking killers are blatant other than your occasional Ghostface with hatchets.

Me with a heavy proxy playstyle, knowing I damn well can force trades till all of them are dead because of the 12 minute minimum matchtime and it taking 2 minutes for someone to die from a fresh hook.
What would happen if they made the hook timer much longer though, would it be worth proxying if the first stage alone took 2 minutes? Ideally I think if the first survivor is camped to death, after they die the timer is reduced and most likely reduced enough for the remaining survivors to all leave.
I didn't take into consideration people who just enjoy the camping play style and only assumed most would enjoy chases like me, so should be interesting to see what other opinions I get on this.
-
Yeah I have to agree, some of the best games I have ever played where 4 man swfs that quick switch to beamers or something similar. If all they do is gens and leave it boring but most of the time they are meming around going to head for on stuns and locker saves ect, which is way more fun than holding w until I get a down. Sometimes they all get out and sometimes they fumble completely and all die but those are the games I remember the most and enjoy the most.
-
The MMR is trash. Basically everyone in the game is over 1900 MMR already or close so it does nothing. Just ask the hacker community who have this information and they will even tell you like every lobby after 50hrs of gameplay is over 1900 MMR. Watch any big streamer play and you will see them paired with people who have less than 100hrs or close vs their 3000hrs or whatever it may be.
