It's very clear that you simply don't pay attention to things that BHVR actually announces and just want them to play favorites with 4 players you like.
Oh Community Cups. Literally anyone can sign up for it. It's not as competetive. Also, stop saying playing favorites, it's something YOU came up with and it's out of context because you don't understand what I'm saying. Additionally, I do pay attention but I simply do not care about Community Cups. Don't say it's very clear that I dont pay attention because I forgot about something I find irrelevant. Stop assuming.

You're talking about unofficial tournaments that have their own rules. This does nothing to show they are the best players.
And the devs have already stated they plan to make adjustments to skull merchant. There's no need for them to state it again, because 4 players you like won a game against her.
There are no official tournaments. Tell me where I can find the best players if not there. In solo queue?

They can't just drop everything they are currently doing and spit something out which in likelihood just make the situation worse.
Game development isn't something where you just get to address whatever you want when you want. They have schedules and deadlines for updates that have planned and worked on for month or even possibly years in advance. Fixing Skull Merchant's kit or reworking it entirely on top resolving the systemic issue of 3 gens because that unto itself is a issue regardless of Skull Merchant, is months of work at least. Work that has scheduled, allocated staff and then all of the work that is required to make substantive changes. It takes them around a year to make a single killer from concept to finished product and rework outside of a minor ability shifts and numbers changes requires about the same amount of time.
This killer hasn't even been in the game for 6 months and while I get that folks aren't having a great time and have hated her since day one because she wasn't Predator thus meaning she has no good will coming from a majority of community, some of us actually play her and like things about her and go out of our way to not play her doing 3 gens. There is a community of players who have spent money to play this killer that also need to be accounted for which another that is super important to game dev. What ain't important is addressing something they already addressed.
So I should suffer three gen Skull Merchant games because you and a very small number of people that main her don't do that? I don't know if you've heard about the Trolley Problem but it definitely works in this scenario. If they are so busy, why not just nerf the range of drones temporarily or just do something minor to compensate?

Whether or not they are truly the best players, there's no leaderboard or such to truly determine such. They are 4 specific players that you want BHVR to recognize by commenting on a game that has nothing new to discuss.
Also the event is already over. People love to keep talking about Skull Merchant and then wonder why people are playing Skull Merchant.
People keep talking about Skull Merchant because they are desperate for changes. Very simple to comprehend. They are the best since they won the most tournaments. Watch their highlights if you care enough and then come back here and call them specific.

There is a lot of caveats to that game. The major one being it was played under comp rules which severely limits the ways they could have approached setting up to counter Skull Merchant. They also just flat out didn't even attempt to break the 3 gen early when the Skull Merchant wasn't actively trying to defend it.
There isn't anything to say about a comp team playing a game under comp rules who went into a pre-arranged game where the understanding was that the Skull Merchant wasn't even going to attempt to win the game. The goal was to time the game out for Skull Merchant in a scenario that isn't indicative of how normal players play the game and how experienced players who don't play comp understand to deal with Skull Merchant.
What do you want the devs to address? They already know that her kit has issues and that game has had a 3 gen issue for years which is exacerbated by the design of Skull Merchant power. They already addressed that they are working on the issue, but it takes time and there more things to consider than whether or not Eternal almost lost a game where they played suboptimally for the situation they were in and had their hand tied by playing with a self imposed ruleset. Hens didn't prove anything that everybody didn't already know and agree with. That match was pointless and the fact that people are losing their minds over it also pointless.
Address the fact that whilst they keep delaying updates to her, more people suffer for it in public games where they are forced to DC or feed her free kills. It's disgustingly miserable facing her.

You want BVHR to make a statement over 1 game, because it involved 4 specific players. That's just ridiculous.
Not to mention it completely ignores the fact that BHVR already made a statement on skull merchant and 3 gen during the anniversary stream.
Like I really don't know what you want, because it just sounds like you want BHVR to play favorites.
Where did you pull that conclusion from? Each reply of yours surprises me even more than the previous one. Also, those four specific players are the best, no need for the word specific.
They made a statement and then let us deal with her for another month whilst the Skull Merchant mains get inspired from this event and she gets more regularly played because it's an easy win.

So 4 people escaped and you want BHVR to make a big statement about it? There's nothing to make a statement on.
You literally know NOTHING about what happened apart from what I said. If you want to go against Skull Merchants that play like that please be my guest. Take them all for yourself.

Best team based on what? There's official leaderboard to show that these 4 survivors are the best in the entire game. Also even if they are proveable the best, why does BHVR need to make a statement over them losing a game?
For a game that everyone keeps claiming to be a party game, you guys care so much about unofficial competitive play.
They didn't lose, they got a four person escape. Don't reply to issues if you're unaware of the context surrounding it.
BHVR needs to make a statement because if the killer was slightly more experienced, they would've lost. This team can win against any killer but they struggle because of a terribly designed killer. Their three gen potential is simply unfair and miserable to face.
Also, who calls DBD a party game? 🤣

What is there to address? People do eventually lose games.
That the BEST (huge emphasis on it) team (scary coordinated SWF killer mains tend to complain about) STRUGGLED WINNING (after winning lots of tournaments) against a INEXPERIENCED (very big emphasis on it) Skull Merchant holding the game HOSTAGE with their DESIGNATED THREE GEN.
If the best team in the world barely got an escape from an INEXPERIENCED Skull Merchant main, think about their effect on solo queue.

The literally addressed it back during the AMA. They are working on an update for her, but they didn't give a timetable because it is very early in that process considering she's not even been out 6 months.
I'm talking about acknowledging that a Skull Merchant held the best team hostage for fifty minutes. Just replying to the threads and saying an update for her will come asap or saying they are aware she's that broken. They addressed Skull Merchant but not the recent event associated with her.

Don’t hold your breath. They promised it years ago for last generation and very little came to fruition.
As things stand, I really think nothing short of a total rewrite of the games engine would be enough. It’s like every chapter breaks something and it only gets worse as time goes on.
That's an understatement. How was Wesker able to turn literally invisible because of a new chapter lmao?

To be fair to your team mate, I have over 1400 hours in this game too but changed platforms not long ago so my PS5 hours are low. I get lobby dodged by higher hour survivors all the time. I'm going to naturally increase in MMR faster than a new player and get matched with higher hour survivors because I know how to play, so I wouldn't necessarily judge your team mate on their profile hours. Just on how they play.
They played just like a two hundred hour person would play, hence why I shared my experience. I understand that is the case sometimes though. :)

That's the opposite of my experience, many times, going for the unhook would be throwing because two of my teammates aren't on gens and I am.
I'm not saying we'll make it is bad either, I run it a lot. It just isn't without drawbacks.
I hate teammates that throw for altruism but not getting unhooked is equally annoying. I don't know who has it worse lmao

Killer mindset? Me? Don't insult me like that lmao. I stopped doing that because now I play properly until the survivor gives up and then I consider their fate. I'm not just going to give people that don't desrve wins a win like that Meg anymore.

I disagree, We'll Make It has an activation condition that is very problematic in solo queue (and doesn't do anything for you) and botany knowledge messes with your medkit if you bring one
Additionally, CoH has that info component, I think it's pretty valuable to know when an injured teammate is there or if your teammates are resetting (and you yourself are injured.)
Getting alright heals and alright information for one perk isn't a bad deal, however, you do want to make sure you boon in a deadzone or a really strong spot so you don't waste your time booning.
We'll Make It doesn't have a crazy condition to activate it. Simply unhook. I get left to go second a lot in solo queue so I don't feel like there's big competition on who will go unhook. It also helps prevent tunneling because you can pop off the heal before the killer returns.
Why would you even bring a medkit if you're running Botany Knowledge? That's your own fault.
Circle of Healing has a terrible info component. I simply do not care about a teammate's aura highlighted to me on the opposite side of the map. The longer they sit there waiting for a heal, the less time they spend on gens. Also, the time you spend booning and actually finding a totem could've been coverted to generator progress.
I'd rather have perks that don't require you to be in range of a totem, in the corner of the map, and still speed up healing by a decent enough percentage.

Crying is the wrong word. Calling something out to be blatantly unfair is crying?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3490488#Comment_3490488
Once again crying isn't the right word. Also I play Solo-Q, the HUD is genuinely insane and so good for S-Q.
If it's just me and another survivor, I know if there on a gen and can attract the killer and start a chase.
If a survivor just got off of hook and got on a totem I know that a hex is probably there.
You make it seem like you play with bots only, and while DBD has it's faults with ranks and such. The game is ultimately pinning you up with survs that are around your skill level, play the game a bit more and maybe you'll realize S-Q isn't awful
Basekit Kindred being blatantly unfair? It's practically useless once the anti-camping update comes out because the killers won't be camping anymore hence survivors won't see their aura. The only thing it would do is show survivors if anyone is going for the unhook which is very basic communication tha a HUD cannot show well. Basekit Empathy is unfair I guess but, if we call these two communication perks unfair, why are SWF deemed as fair if they have more communication than solo queue will ever have. Saying these two communication perks are blatantly unfair is a stretch.
-
I usually slugged recently unhooked survivors if I randomly found them first so that it generated a bit of gen pressure because I don't want to tunnel them but I also don't want them to just sit on a gen immediately. In the end I see them teabagging me. Once a Meg did it to me I gave up doing it.
-
I actually have the Nightmare Edition disc and the outfits are not included. You only get Nancy and Steve's default cosmetics alongside Nancy's torn sweater which was a reward whenever you actually bought the DLC instead of buying everything with auric cells. You cannot buy any outfits/cosmetics. I'm not sure if you can even upgrade to the PS5 version of the game without losing them.

Yes, they can theoretically get somewhat of an advantage, but in most cases bad ping makes your power very unresponsive. Try playing Blight with 200+ms ping, your power literally screws you over because there is a tangible delay between input and action.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3490717#Comment_3490717
That's just band aiding and doesn't necessarily throw you in their server. I was with 3 other Italians, we ended up in a Virginia server. :|
That's why they dont generally play Blight...? It's always other killers.
-
I had a pubstomper Blight after a LONG time of not facing any and I quickly realized how much the add-ons were carrying him. It's also quite depressing considering he could turn all these tight angles and as a controller player I would never be able to do that because even 100% sensitivity is slow.
-
When I see an RPD/Midwich offering my heart starts racing because Skull Merchant's usually send you there to give you the most miserable game you'll ever experience.
They've gotten so campy after the incident with Team Eternal, if I see one more I might have to wait until the update drops lmao.

Modern problems require modern solutions 😎
-
So MMR sucks but solo queue doesn't? The main reason solo queue sucks is because matchmaking puts you with survivors that have 1/7 the hours you have. Here's one example:
I have over 1,400 hours on Steam. This was one of my teammates.
If you're saying that you go against pubstomper killers every game due to MMR then that would make a bit more sense.
-
I keep forgetting Circle of Healing exists in solo queue so when I randomly see my teammates aura I get so confused because I don't run Empathy. It's practically useless now and silly to run. We'll Make It and Botany Knowledge is so much better.
-
Killers would select servers far away from them so they can land hits that shouldn't have hit. That's why VPNs are such a problem in DBD and are reportable.
Also, DBD does tend to shove you into any available server for some reason no matter where you live. The matchmaking is genuinely terrible.
-
When I moved to PC from PS5 the grind was genuinely unbearable. After losing all my progress, and my Nancy, the games were so boring. I had to make use of default perks and get my MMR up which was excruciatingly annoying with solo queue. Every Shrine of Secrets was terrible and I had to resort to buying characters for 9,000 shards in order to actually get perks that are useful. I understand how it feels completely. It's a shame you need to sacrifice so much time into the game, but what else can you do?
Also 21,000 shards for an oufit is crazy, you need to play so much games but the whole point is to make buying auric cells more impulsive.

Not even that. It’s like 8 meters of distance. Nurse’s Blink can cover up to 20 meters.
Yeah, I know. I was just trying to put it into perspective. It's hard to really do that considering even one of Wesker's Virulent Bounds would catch up to them.

They surely would cry. I remember how they claimed to only go against top tier SWFs with the HUD. And the HUD barely changed anything for SoloQ. Except my Blood Pressure because I now can see that nobody is doing anything while I am being chased.
@Topic:
The thing is, SoloQ can have all information they want. Even if the Devs would be mad enough to include Voice Comms AND the system would actually work (aka no problems with language, toxicity, etc.), this would not totally bridge the gap between SoloQ and SWF. (which would obviously not work, but lets pretend there would be an ideal scenario)
Because the main strength in SWF is to remove the RNG from your teammates. The Claudette who is self-caring in a Corner against a Legion running Sloppy Butcher? You wont play with that in a 4 man-SWF. The Meghead who drops every Pallet on the Map instantly? You wont have to deal with that either.
You will know that your teammates are decent and that they wont waste time and do Gens when not being chased or are good at being chased. And information will not provide this.
E.g. I once reached second Stage on the Hook despite the Survivors having ALL information available - two were on a Gen together, one was being chased (shown by an indicator and them getting injured). Yet, none of those two on a Gen moved to get me.
You also see Survivors with Kindred who run full map for an Unhook despite seeing that someone else is already going.
Information will not really fix anything. The HUD proves it, it gives quite a lot of information and yet did not improve SoloQ-experience at all.
I was in a chase and I got a bit of distance on the killer. I then saw a Feng run past me retracing my footsteps right into the killer. When you don't have a headset or any common sense, unfortunately no amount of help will suffice.

@mikewelk @LapisInfernalis at least yall both understand 💔 to put into perspective what i feel for a paid game im free 2 play in, by default i cant have so many cool killers so in stuck playing options like nurse and blight and huntress, and almost every perk that is licensed i almost dont have 😭 its a struggle using non meta perks and when i do they just get nerfed and i cry that i wasted my shards on them
It almost feels like you just have to buy a licensed character in order to enjoy the game to its full extent. Getting iri shards feels like such a chore and you need to get 7,200 just for one piece of clothing when a whole new character is 9,000. Worst part is that the outfits only get discounted via auric cells.
Luckily double XP is still active so you can grind it out for a little while longer.

The entire reason it got buffed to 5 seconds is because of enduring. The nerf simply put it back to the old stun after removing enduring as a factor.
And five seconds was proven to be effective at preventing tunneling. Three seconds is one Nurse blink of distance.

killer would adapt if base-kit aura reading was put into the game. they would already play vs kindred and other teammate aura perks. soloq perk variety would be nice.
Sure, they'll adapt. I doubt it'll be fast if they complain about Decisive Strike stunning them for five seconds after tunneling (the whole point of the perk).
-
Waiting every week just for the shrine to be garbage base game perks always irritated me. Can't imagine how it feels for a free to play player.
-
Most killer mains would cry and solo queue wouldn't inflate kill rates as much as it used to.
-
Probably because nothing much gets done with the feedback unless it's the PTB or bug reports. What's the point of making discussions about MfT if after the outcry nothing got done? What's the point of giving examples of Skull Merchant holding games hostage if we have to wait months for an update to her? What's the point of talking about how terrible matchmaking is when nothing gets done about it? What's the point of asking for higher controller sensitivity if it doesn't even get acknowledged. What's the point of talking about laggy servers if nothing gets done about it? What's the point of talking about VPN killers if it doesn't get acknowledged? What's the point of talking about tunneling when Decisive Strike (the only perk that can counter it) just gets nerfed instead? What is the point?
Sometimes things do get done about certain issues. I am happy about that. It gives me motivation to upvote discussions and certain replies. I'm starting to lose it though.
Even after the Skull Merchant situation vs Team Eternal we haven't gotten any acknowledgement from the devs that they are aware how broken she is and that one discussion has like 100+ replies and a ton of upvotes.
-
Because solving camping is apparently better than solving an issue where you're one teammate down at four gens.
-
They still haven't fixed Skull Merchant btw! The best DBD team were held hostage by one for fifty minutes recently.

if you watch it without "otz glasses", you will see the reality is: if its not Trapper you will die rly quick again (if you have not pallet or window nearby)
It's because the perk itself sounds overpowered. You read the description and you feel like it prevents tunneling altogether. You'll sometimes get value out of it because you're lucky enough to be downed near a loop but usually you're in a dead zone instead.
As Wesker says: "You're merely postponing the inevitable!"

Play Nurse or Pinhead. It usually work as a domino effect; one will DC then the other 2 and then it's you and one person left, either they find hatch or DC too.
I have over 3,500 hours combined of playing this game and I have only had three survivors DC very rarely. Like everyone seems to say in this forum, if it's rare, don't complain.
-
Depends what you mean by annoying. If you mean annoying as in annoyingly good then probably Dwight players (although when I get them in solo queue they are TERRIBLE).
If you mean annoying as in they try to bully you then it's probably Ace players weirdly.
-
She needs her own update update solely just to change her. No need to wait so long to fit in her changes into some random update so far away. The situation with her was handled so terribly by BHVR it's appalling.

Endgame ds was quite honestly nowhere near as problematic as body blocking with ds, which itself hardly mattered in endgame since teammates could bodyblock anyways, you would think they wouldve fixed that but ofc not, but still both ds and dh are still amazing perks so i mean, ig your comparison is right lol
Body blocking was always a problem, DS or not. DS just gave unhooked survivors incentive to do it injured and not feel at risk, just like when you're healthy and taking hits. Off The Record does the same but way better, just like @averagemikaelamain said. It also lasts way longer than DS so it's hard to expect. Body blocking with DS is VERY obvious and you can easily tell they have it.
Also, are we being satire about Dead Hard and Decisive being amazing perks? If they were slightly amazing they would be in the meta, right? Also, Dead Hard is only a one-time use perk. Once you pull it off once, the killer isn't going to fall for it again.
-
It would be really interesting to say the least! That Yun-Jin outfit is so good though.

Yea, the double nerf wasn't needed for ds in 6.1 and i really hope they revert it. Im pretty hopeful it will be reverted/buffed after seen pop get buffed tho
It was such a terrible change. When I saw the Nurse eat DS and then catch up with them in a single blink...
