No. And not just because it's a massive crutch.

NOED has the side-effect of single-handedly slowing down people's ability to learn how to play and frequently gives utterly undeserved kills (sometimes even 4ks if the Killer goes on a slugging spree and the Survivors are too altruistic/the Survivors aren't good enough at looping) despite the Killer having been demolished the whole game.

NOED is basically the ultimate crutch and is arguably a source of toxicity (or at least enhances it) and it's bad enough that there's a perk in the game that gives a massive power-up for losing without it being basekit and actively discourage going for endgame saves (not to mention it would make almost every game end roughly the same: Everybody running away and everyone for themselves if someone has the bad luck of being hooked too close to the totem).

And worst of all: SWF teams, if they knew 100% they will have to deal with a busted Killer, will use comms to tell each other totem locations/amount of them destroyed while SoloQ would be left in the dark, further widening the gap between the two, which BHVR is actively trying to avoid.

Nowadays, basically only beginners/bad/toxic Killers use NOED to compensate for their lack of skill (and it's usually pretty easy to tell if they have it depending on how well they play), having every player including pros having NOED basekit would just make the game more miserable.

Good killers and killers in comp use noed all the time, its not something only newer killers would use.

Example of supaalf playing ghostface in a comp dbd tournament and using noed.

They could code that but, more importantly, they can't code a way for you to find a game after no-one wants to play Killer any more.

It makes even more sense to use this perk on an m2 killer. You can sit at 8 stacks the entire game. This is deadly.

With 8 stacks you can 2 tap with demo aswell, m1 and then shred right after i believe. I think ive done it before but i havent played him in a pretty long time.

I dont think its a bad perk on him at all, maybe if you can hit every shred which is easier said then done plus survivors can use the "crouch tech" to avoid his shred.

Not sure if they can always avoid shred like that but they can alot of the time i think.

Example of the "crouch tech" used very frequently on a 1v1 chase with a demo as an example.

Yeah but it encourages you to go for the unhooker cause they are one shot instadownable

They can be really far away or at a safe loop/pallet where its not easy to down them if the person does a good job bodyblocking. Its not always that easy.

If theyre injured then make your choice doesnt do anything at all either.

You could also just have a fresh hook on another survivor instead of having a dead survivor or a survivor on death hook.

What if the killer hits me off hook and it renders as a protection hit and DS deactivates?

just run make your choice if people bodyblock you on hook constantly

He means the survivor who just got off the hook bodyblocking while they have ds active, not the survivor who just saved the other survivor from the hook.

Make your choice wouldnt do anything.

Also make your choice you have to be pretty far from the hook to work and it only works with m1s i think, just not that good of a perk.

  • 6 knives for main event would have been ok too i think, but im ok with 8 aswell.

What i dont like is that they nerfed his blades to where he throws 3 in a volley instead of 4 from the ptb.

After the main event change that wasnt needed i think.

  • @appleas said:

Back when MFT was in PTB, people said that it was a weak perk and Lithe/SB would be better.

Fast forward a few months later, people are saying Lithe/SB will be better after MFT nerf

    Ok sure

I dont think anyone said they thought MFT was gonna be a bad perk or is a bad perk. If they did they just dont have much knowledge about the game.

  • Its cheating when the devs consider it cheating. "The advantage", that can be had, is minimal in general. Sometimes very minimal to non existent. You should be playing single player games instead of posting on here.

It's a little outdated now, but the last official stats on SWF were I think around 30% of survivors are SWF (including 2 and 3 man lobbies) and that SWF have an average 15% higher chance of escape.

That's not all that much when you consider that is less than the difference between an extra kill/escape per game (25%) and when you consider it's an average, meaning half of all SWF lobbies don't have as much as 15% greater escape rates.

Communication is as much of a skill as anything else, and not all SWFs are good at it. Simply having access to voice chat doesn't nean it's used well. When people talk about how strong SWF are, they're talking about a subset of SWF teams who actually use the tools well.

This is all to say that the SWF 'problem' is at least a bit overblown, and that you can't fairly address SWF directly in terms of balance. You can't implement nerfs or handicaps qccording to how many survivors are in a premade group, as this wpuld be a penalty to all SWFs who aren't the high performing ones. At that point, you really are punishing people for playing with their friends.

The only fair solution is to implement survivor tools that emulate the information available via voice chat. The survivor HUD icons were a big step towards that, but more can be done.

Or maybe the actual reality is that solo queue will always be the lowest on the pecking order.

Devs have access to the statistics.

They know how many people play solo queue, how many people duo, trio, 4 stack. They know the win rate for these groups individually as compared to solo queue. They know how much potential revenue each group brings to the company.

Maybe BHVR recognizes that the overall win rate for solo queue needs to be lower to compensate for the win rate of swf. Maybe their numbers show that swf brings more revenue to the game than solo queue so pleasing swf is a more profitable venture. Hence it feels like devs are dragging their feet on closing this gap.

  • Do you also say gg when you lose and when you lose badly? If you do then thats fine. Alot of people only say gg if they win cause then they feel happy and like they played well even tho it probaly doesnt feel that way for the other side and it can feel like if they are rubbing the win in kind of.

  • Its completely within your right, keep doing it if it helps you enjoy the game.

  • Only change that should happen is maybe change some of his add ons and make it so main event doesnt charge in 6 knives but maybe 10 or so. From the ptb to live server. All the other changes seem fine.

yeah; that shouldn't matter though and in fact makes my point even moreso - if one of the top rated players in the world regularly goes against mediocre survivors that means an average killer should also go against mediocre survivors; the average survivor team you go against won't be that great

Hens is alot better then the average killer and the survivors he's versing in general Arent close to his lvl.

The average killers are also getting the same survivors hens is getting or close to their skill lvl.

Hens can beat them playing like that cause hes alot better but if the skill lvl is close(ish) you generally wont be able to do that. Maybe its not impossible but more so in a more consistent matter to try and win.

  • I watch this streamer called Bryan_S sometimes who is a survivor main with 13,5k hours with a public profile and multipule p100s.

He plays in a swf here and there with others who have p100s and alot of hours. Its not strange when he swfs to have 2/3 p100s in his swf.

He plays in US East also and he rarely gets dodges when he plays like that.

To me the people saying they get dodged for 10-15 minutes cause they are p100 or play in a swf with friends who are p100 are like people saying they play vs a legit comp SWF as killer every game and the game is unwinnable as killer.

  • @th3syst3m said:

If you're a killer and complaining about survivor perks you're just really bad at the game. I mean there's a guy that got a 300 win streak on myers. I'm sick of reading the "I suck but it because of this perk" post. You're bad at the game, it just that simple. Keeping losing.

Who has a 300 myers win streak and what kind of add ons/build?

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

I've definitely lost hits on people because of MFT. Poor Huntresses, tricksters and deathslingers struggle especially in tight loops with LOS.

I will just place here an MFT rework suggestion that was made by the streamer called Umbra, because I really like her idea:

New MFT - every time the killer reaches haste through bloodlust while chasing you, you gain the same amount of haste. For all 3 levels of bloodlust. So basically MFT would not just give you free haste for being injured, but would actually reward you in a healthy way for being really good in chases. And when the killer loses bloodlust haste, so do you. I love this idea, and would love seeing MFT being reworked like this.

Weaker killers need to bloodlust sometimes (not every tile or chase but semi often) while stronger killers never to almost never use bloodlust. If you would want to make it an anti bloodlust perk it would just hurt weaker killers again more and not much would change with the perk.

  • Rpd is a good map for most killers id say, the game is a good map for killers like nurse and good for blight if he has c33 and decent for him otherwise, probaly decent for spirit id say, and good/relatively good for stealth killers id say. Also not bad for antiloop killers that dont care about pallets as much. Just some m1 killers like Legion or plague without power id say the game is bad.

I havent heard people say rpd is survivor sided but ive heard about it for the game for some killers.

  • It is kinda funny that your other post you made 2 years ago was saying that they should add alien in dbd and now you think he's broken/op which he's not.

Yup. Even if she gets a few downs from using her one guaranteed fountain, it's pretty easy to reset. She's pretty weak right now with the MFT + Resilience meta too, I'd say.

Plague was stronger before they nerfed healing /gen regression perks, more so cause she pretty much just doesnt benefit from the healing nerfs.

nightlight stats aren't the most accurate ones, imo, but sometimes they correlate well with official ones.

    image.png image.png image.png

she already had one of the highest killrates, but if you balance off killrates nurse would need to be buffed (this was i believe before she got her add ons nerfed and her blinks were still m1, maybe this was just after the nerf instead) and in terms off killrates here freddy/pig are also some off the killers with higher killrates. Even killers like myers and legion are high in terms of killrate.

  • You dont need it for her tbh, ive played her a good amount recently and didnt use it, onepumpwillie for instance doesnt either all tho its strong (probaly her strongest add on)

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/388812/fall-in-attitude-of-dbd-player-base

Chasing is the worst it's ever been for killer. Even with the buffs for chasing. A single chase can and typically will cost you either 2 or 3 gens. The maps are filled to the brim with pallets and windows. And thanks to WoO survivors know that exactly where the safe ones are and where resource are still up. This means most chases are extended.

Then on top of WoO there is MfT and Resilience which further extends chase. Then God forbid the survivors are even half ass coordinated then you gotta deal with body blocks, flashlights, sabos, and cruelest of all the Buckle Up FtP combo.

The devs nerfed every single regression perk which was what gave the killer time to do chases. Then to make it worse after nerfing the regression they released several perks that speed up gens for survivor. So gens go even faster than they did before despite the 10 second time increase. BHVR completely erased the one real buff killers got in years.

And if you pay attention survivors KNOW chases are how Killers lose the game. And I can PROVE that survivors know this, because the 4 killers they hate the most are the 4 killers who can get around the chase.

Nurse and Blight are hated because they are actually good in chase and can win them.

Sadako is hated because she can ignore the chase.

And the most despised is Skull Merchant who also not only ignores the chase but forces survivors to come to them.

You will also notice they hate basement builds because those builds also ignore the chase.

This is all proof that chasing is a bad idea for killer and everyone knows it.

Camping and tunneling are good counters to chases and guaranteed kills.

Things will only get worse until BHVR balances around gens done rather than kills|escapes. Because kill rates are vastly inflated thanks to survivors throwing in the end game. 99% of kills happen AFTER all 5 gens are done. If survivors actually left after the final gen almost all games would be 0k or 1k and 2k at max.

BHVR needs to release the data on how many gens get done on average per match and how many survivors are still alive on average when 5th gen is done.

You can chase but you need to down survivors very fast, ideally around 30 seconds, 45 or so max, you just dont have the time for much longer chases. Thats also why alot of killers camp and tunnel at the start of the game cause they just dont have the time to chase properly, even more so to play for 12 hooks cause the game isnt balanced around that.

Skull Merchant is so fun as a chase killer, I've played her a few times in customs and her chase potential is amazing. It's just a shame her power kind of encourages 3-genning, like yeah she's not the only one who does it (I was against a Knight and Wesker on Lery's and they just hard-guarded the three-gen in the back corner of the map, every hook, they would run back to the 3-gen I was trying to break to kick the gens with Pop and NWTH. I wanted to pull my hair out.) But she's certainly the only one that is making it a huge problem right now, so the Devs will either have to deal with addressing her kit or finally do something about 3-genning.

you cant use pop when ruin is up tho and ruin only regresses gens at 100% can be cleansed and goes away when a survivor dies

The devs already said a few months ago that the 3 gen strat is never how they intended the game to be played. So yeah, they're planning to get rid of it. Not sure how they'll manage it though so will be interesting to see.

I think 3 gen is a fair/legit strategy just too opressive on killers like skill merchant, (maybe knight) but fine for pretty much every other killer.

  • They removed hook grabs what somewhat nerfed facecamping for a good amount of killers.

That's what BHVR say is a win and it's their game, so yes it is.. 4Ks are meant to be exceptional wins and right now they're not.

    ...

Anyway the amount of palates that are pointless now is ridiculous. Many if them aren't even worth using now because by the time you've completed the animation the killer is on the other side with you. I will happily take a reduced number of palates if they're more useful..

2k is a draw i think bhvr sees it like that aswell

  • @jajay119 said:

Survivors cannot do anything without someone complaining about it.

Gens are the main objective, but its becoming classed as 'gen rushing' when you do them too soon for the killer's liking - usually when they've overcomitted to a chase.

If they do totems killers complain they're using them even though it wastes time off gens. Or they complain they're losing their hex perk.

If they do chests you get complaints of wasting time or abusing items.

If survivors do what secondary objectives there are killers that have them become 'powerless' and again there are complaints.

You're clearly never going to please everyone and I think we need to remember gens are the main objective.

If im the killer in your game you're allowed to do dull totems and chests all game long

I don't think tunneling is healthy for the game nor is it the most fun part of the game.

I think the idea that I am in "danger" simply because the killer decided to come back while in a game where I cannot fight back is not well-designed. Perks can help but that is not the point at all IMO, it's also the reason I never take off OTR because I feel like one mistake (on the killer's part) and they switch to the easiest thing (tunnel).

No person wearing a flat cap will ever convince me otherwise.

    Oi!

Thats bloodeh survivor biased mate, just like the devs always catering to these low lvl survivors and shafting killer at every turn! I play in MAX MMR vs COMP SWF every match, ya priff.

Hatch is also a form of escape - That's why I explained with the parenthetical I was excluding hatch. Theoretically I can slug for the 4k and deny hatch/gate in the vast majority of those victories, but unless I am doing an Adept achievement, that is a waste of my time, and boring for everyone involved. Since most people aren't sweaty enough to waste their time to deny hatch, that actually artificially inflates escape rates if anything. If we were to assume hatch is a 50/50 after a 3k, that would mean most 5 gen wins by Killer only get 87.5% kill rate, compared to the theoretically expected 100%.

Not everyone used degen 3gen perks - Which is also why the stats weren't more extreme. Once people realized how busted they were, they started abusing them, which caused a swift-ish nerf to Eruption, and a delayed nerf to CoB/OC.

Solo personal escape rate of 40% - Glad you had better luck than I. I get tilted very quickly playing soloq, and when I see the corner crouching Mikaela at 5 gens who has never been hooked, my soul leaves my body in despair. That tends to snowball my losses because then I get more Survivors of that 'caliber'. Then I ragequit playing Survivor (after the match is over), swap to Killer, and make sure no Mikaela or Feng lives. When playing Killer, that frustration seems to channel into more effective gameplay, but with Survivor it seems to cause me to take bad chases/mindgames and lose quicker.

People also escape through the exit gate tho and so it would be lower then 87.5% no? Even if the last survivor escapes through the exit gate ~33% of the time.

I dont think the average player/killrate was 3king every game, maybe you were with 95% but i dont believe the average wasnt, the killrate released before it was hard meta (but the perks were used an okay amount) was 60%.

If you want to believe it was 80% or whatever then thats fine.

  • @mizark3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3502155#Comment_3502155

If my Killer matches were any indication (using those perks) I would be willing to raise that to 90-95% (excluding hatch). I was simply using my soloq experience (and dropping the estimate to account for that being ~60% of all matches).

Hatch is also a form of escape, not everyone used COB/Overcharge/Eruption every game on every killer when it was meta, even if they did i still dont think the average killer would have an 80% killrate. I played solo survivor after 6.1.0 and my escape rate was still decent, probaly around 40%.

To be fair the stats were gathered after the patch that buffed them, but before people fully knew about how busted Eruption/CoB/OC were. The deliberate 3-genning with those 3 in combination came later and presumably had 70-80% kill rates with how much they got gutted.

    80% kill rate LOL
