I generally don't.
I either play with the odd friend without voice chat, or when I do play with a larger group of 3/4 with voice chat, we talk so much crap it actively makes us perform worse. I genuinely escape more when I play solo.
That's the problem. SWF isn't a guaranteed advantage. It's only the potential for better coordination, and not everyone plays or even wants to play like a super optimal comp team.
I wouldnt mind a ping system in the game for some general communication without the need for voice.
Most people who play SWF do use voice chat i reckon and for most people they escape more in a SWF, up to a 15% higher escape rate according to the devs.

So you're forcing people to use voice chat when playing in a SWF, in order to make up for the lack of resources they have access to?
Yea using voice chat in a SWF is unheard of, nobody uses that

So you are telling me to do what actually IS against the rules? Like I have said again and again, I usually try to stick it out as long as he's not running that Iridescent Queen addon, though honestly most Doctors do lately. As for them being so rare, that isn't the point. I shouldn't have to accept a penalty because of a problem with sensory overload making it difficult. Yes, it does suck for the other players, especially now that they add bots, but I don't agree that I should have a penalty. If I just didn't like Doctor that would be different. So many players DC or just give up when it's a killer they don't like, and I hate those players. But those with emetophobia, with courlophobia, or sensory overload or any other actual health reason to need to quit versus a particular killer, no they should not be obligated to take a penalty.
If its one killer and you get them rarely, why would a few minutes dc penalty be a problem if you feel unwell if you stay in the game?
-
I dont think hook unaliving should be bannable, but i dont think 4%s should really be in the game, the killer outplayed you and hooked you, the only way you should be able to get off the hook is if a teammate saves you.
If 4%s arent in the game anymore then they cant do that anymore.
Ideally the only way i think you should be able to unhook yourself should be with deliverance.
-
what would getting rid of lobby dodging fix feng body blocking you?
-
Killer is so easy nowadays its not even funny. @SWF_destroyer is currently on a 3000 win streak playing variety killer.
-
To be fair, to be able to play skull merchant and hold a 3 gen for a very long time by kicking them over and over with overcharge/opression you need to be an incredibly skilled killer player with an extremely high IQ (atleast 150+ IQ)
-
@Weasdat said:
You posted 4 matches and 2 of them are 4man escapes and 1 is a 1k. Then complained why you don't see some of the worst killers in the game. What point are you trying to make here?
They should have been all 4 man escapes.
-
They're nerfing her cause she's overpowered.
A small stealth killer that can teleport across the map and mori people before they're even hooked isnt balanced.
Thats also why she has one of the highest killrates of all the killers in the game.
-
I think the server should close sooner then an hour, maybe 30-40 minutes and if the survivors are still alive they should auto escape and win.
-
No those are actual players.

No. I want the game to be balanced in a way that doesn't screw over solo queue players. Buffing killers whilst solo queue is such a mess just makes solo queue even worse. I'm not sure why you think it's unfair for average Killers to struggle against SWF, but it's okay if solo queue (the majority of the playerbase) gets made even weaker. I personally think both situations suck.
Solo queue isn't weak just because the matchmaking prioritises speed over matching players appropriately or survivors rage quitting. There's just stuff that is inherently harder to deal with. Try breaking a 3 gen in solo with no communication, it's a miserable experience even after the gen regression nerfs.
SWF holds solo queue hostage, but there's no way to nerf SWF directly. All you can do is water down survivor tools or buff killers to compensate. But that screws over solo queue in it's current form. At no point should you harm the majority of players who already play the weakest role in the game just to harm SWF.
I think they need to keep improving the solo queue experience. That way they can buff average killers without making solo queue increasingly unplayable.
You could nerf swf by giving them an action speed debuff, not having items or perks repeat etc, but then a common retort is that you can't punish people for playing together in a swf.
-
All it should do it keeps the 3s stun and make it so you cant use the killers power for 3 seconds so all killer are hurt equally, someone like nurse maybe even slighty harder. Now ds is better and can be used with otr for really strong potential anti tunnel.
Maybe i could see it have a 4 second stun max but 5 seconds was too long.
-
Only baby killers need bloodlust
-
Survivor on DBD is the hardest thing i've ever witnessed in any game and the devs keep making it harder and harder catering to bad killers.
-
Killers play wesker constantly because he's incredibly overpowered, being able to dash around the map with lightning speed, have built in slowdown whenever you hit a survivor (or they're oneshot and 8% hindered), survivors being half infected off hook for easy tunneling, being able to easily vault pallets and windows with his power, his power being too easy to use around loops and then also his massive hitbox to top it all off.
They just want the easiest wins possible with minimal amount of effort.
Survivors DC because they're sick and tired of seeing him constantly and they're hopeless cause they know the chance of escaping the match are slim to none, why play a match you can't win and also wont have fun?

Win streaks only impress me when I see someone go 20 games in a row consecutively on stream. There are ways to 'game' the MMR that I suspect some of these people take advantage of to get easier matches. Ever notice when watching these streaks on stream that a lot of the teams they go against appear to be solo queue's? There's a reason for that.
Alot of these streaks are on stream with 20+ games in a row, i dont think they lower their mmr. You dont have to find it impressive all tho it is difficult to get really high streaks i mostly just find them entertaining or educational.
-
All the coldwind farm maps are extremely killer sided, they need more pallets and safe loops to be able to have a chance vs the overpowered killers especially given how overnerfed survivors are these days.
The only one thats somewhat balanced is fractured cowshed.
-
I played 4 matches earlier. One was Huntress with a mori that tunneled. 2 were 4Ks with 2 and 3 gens remaining. One was a 3K. Never seen a game as difficult as survivor.
-
They are balancing around VERY high SWF on comms. The majority of SWF are not sweaty and are casually playing the game.
The way the game is balanced is bad killers = SWF. Solos only win when the killer makes tons of mistakes, doesn't tunnel, plays nicely, and gives everyone 2 hooks. People that say solos are capable of winning. You have to look at how bad the killer is. Survivor skill is meaningless.
-
Yes i believe it will sadly, these sad killer mains cant stand to let survivors have a decent perk without complaining for it to be nerfed 24/7.
-
Killers are too oppressive. Survivors don't stand a chance unless killers are just bad at the game or they are the 4 best survivors on the planet.

No facecampjng or camping first hookmcan be a strategy to help win, the earlier you do them the more effect they have

It’s not hard to infer peoples intentions when they play the way OP described. Slugging people for 4 minutes, hitting and facecamping on first hook, hard tunneling at 4-5 gens. Tunneling and camping can be valid strategies but the situation OP pointed out is nothing but BM
I could see slugging people for 4 minutes till they bleedout as bm and hitting on hook over and over as bm but the others not.

I don't think you give the devs enough credit.
I reckon they knew it would likely be overturned, but they would rather err on the side of making it too strong than too weak. After all, why would you buy the character if the perks were trash?
I don't believe it's malicious, they arent omnipotent to know exactly how strong it needs to be... but you definitely don't want to release something underpowered... so it just makes sense to release it strong and dial it back.
Like release mettle of man, making the perk too strong to boost sales early on and most likely nerf it soon after.
-
Just leave the game normally?
-
No way out and noed are probaly best combo for Endgame then use perks to help early/middle game.

My favorite thing about this whole topic is that there people who do not even use exhaust perks yet they can still loop good, so what to say about that part?
That they werent boosted by dead hard or other exhaustion perk so they can loop well? Not every survivor in the game relied on dead hard/exhaustion that much

Yeah but why hit and run? He's not like Legion, you can easily just hit the survivor again if you wanted to
Cause alot of the loops in the game arent balanced for a killer like Wraith and he cant properly chase, since he doesnt really have a chase/antiloop power. He can use his stealth to potentially sneak up on injured survivors and not have to run those loops.

It heals in 16 seconds but is affected by modifiers to healing speed so it can be faster or slower. I believe with the med-kit changes, syringe should be 24 second heal when applied to yourself.
- The affected Survivor will passively gain 1 Health State 16 seconds after use.
- The time required can be modified by Perks and Add-ons that affect Healing speeds.
From the dbd wiki, it can be effected by perks and add ons but i believe at base even if you use it on yourself its 16 seconds.

BNP add a check point to a Gen, which that Gen can not regress further than the check point. Which useless early game but really important in late game. Especially if there are only 3 survivors left.
Syringe is already got a nerf to 24sec.
Syringe heals in 16 seconds
And yea the add ons are probaly too strong

Well then they need to change perk's description. Because it says this perk will be activated when you are injured. It included both of effects.
So it bugged on PTB or they just explained perk wrong.
You need to heal the person for like 1% normally then you can FTP and then made for this works, the combo does seem too strong.

"EXCESSIVELY LONG MATCHES DUE TO 3-GENS"
They are trying to prevent matches where Killers just hold an infinite 3-gen until the server closes or Survivors decide that doing literally anything else would be better than sitting in an hour long game with someone who has an ego issue.
who can still do that with the nerfed gen kick perks tho? maybe just maybe skull merchant or something? i dont think its really a problem anymore

Bah, I will try this build, even if it doesn't inspire me much. Pop, Pain resonance and?
i use corrupt intervention and bamboozle but i use it for wraith, can use corrupt or no way out maybe deadlock but not the best synergy with it, those are just the regression perks i use.

@illNicola said:

Pop is useless, since it remove % of the gen based on the current progression. I don't understand your combo. Since pain resonance remove 25% of the total, you go kick with pop and won't remove that much. Also, you don't know which gen popped with pain resonance, so if it's not near you don't know which gen popped
Pop does a decent amount of regression if a gen is atleast 50% or so, 10% from pop and then 2.5% from base kick and then the gen starts to regress.
You dont have to kick the gen effected by pain res but you can, if their nearly done with the gen it can go from 95% to 70% from pain res and then to 53.5% after you kick it with pop. It can give you alot of regression through the game.
I use pop through patrolling gens and chasing survivors off gens and then pop it since it is active for a bit. I think it works well for killers that have good mobility but i've only been playing those killers. If you listen well you can hear high progressed gens and you can also know through gamesense which gen(s) their most likely working on and which gens you want to protect.
The guy that got a 1000 blight streak was using pain res and pop near the end of his streak and i know some streamer(s) who use pain res and pop and can get alot value from it.

I mean, 4 random gens because it's not the same. You know that survs procede with repairing right? Or do you think that they play like "Oh the killer has pain resonance, let's make our most repaired gen go from 99% to 0%"? 25% 4 times on the same gen is strong, 25% on 4 different gens (because if you manage to get 4 pain resonance on the same gen it means that your facing potatoes) it's not strong. It's quite decent, but it's not strong at all.
I use pain res and pop together and its decent regression, not as good as we had but if you can get the downs rolling at an alright pace its not bad.

And plus they announced 2 survivor-sided maps will be re-balanced. But they ignored that fact as well.
Those reworks are most likely gonna be like red forest reworks tho, they'll just update it visually, add some more random stuff to the map, add some more safe pallets and loops and call it a day.
-
Ive had people do it while they were using strong items and were using rare BP offerings like BPS, whilst on strong survivor maps. Game is pretty much over for the other survivors then.
Ive also seen people dc on the spot vs pinhead or something, not being downed yet or attacked yet by him.
Probaly has something to do with frustration with not playing well, having bad teammates, not liking the killer or sometimes noticing the killer camping or something.

I'm the same, Killer main, but have been playing Survivor for a breather and I'm just getting tunnelled out of every game I play. Doesn't matter if I'm solo or in a duo-trio SWF, just straight-up tunnelled out. Idk if it's because I have TTV in my name or because I have bad internet/lag but it is ridiculous. Like no time to reset/heal no time to walk away from the hook before I'm downed and hooked.
Like, I played off-stream with a friend of mine against a Doctor on DDS a couple of weeks ago, and because of my ping, I got vacuumed to the wrong side of the pallet and got grabbed, like no big deal it happens right? I get hooked, then after a few moments I get rescued, no big deal. I run off with my rescuer to get some healing, but BOOM Doctor shocks us and we all scream, he comes up, and taps my healthy rescuer while I try to run away. The Doctor ignores the person he just smacked, to come after me. My basekit BT has worn off, I go down again and I'm hooked, again no big deal it happens, just bad luck/timing, right? So I'm left to hang around some more until I'm rescued, run off to heal, rinse repeat Doctor blasts his power and we all scream, he smacks my rescuer who tries to peel him off me but he goes right for me again. This time I'm left slugged as he FINALLY goes for one of my teammates who had saboed the hook he had wanted to put me on, I crawl away to hide so I can be picked up. Only for Doctor to use his power and find me AGAIN. Though ofc, this time I'm on death hook, so I die instantly. The big kicker is, I brought BPS as a way to apologise for having bad internet and I only got a measly 2000 points (everyone else got upwards of 10,000)... This guy had no chill and it wasn't just me he tunnelled, there was another TTV in the game, who was live and also got tunnelled, but they were a higher MMR or had better ping and were able to make the Doctor look like a clown.
ETA: Like as a Killer main, I understand exactly why he was tunnelling. He saw a "weak" link and had to exploit it, but he was playing Doctor one of the strongest killers in the game right now, he didn't need to go as hard as he did. Like idk, maybe he was one of those people who target TTV's because it's "funny" to him, but it was really annoying.
When I play Killer I try not to tunnel or camp because of how gross it is (I hate when I feel like I have to play like this because the survivors are playing like toxic #########), and what hurts is that when I do play fair Survivors either DC or trash-talk me in the post-game and call me a "noob/baby killer" and to "uninstall". Like what do you want? To be tunnelled/camped at 5 gens or have a killer who plays fair and by the "survivor rule book"? You can't have it both ways. *facepalm*
How is Doctor one of the strongest killers in the game?
-
Sweet and kinda funny

I need you to watch me leave.

@JustAnotherNewbie said:
I agree that you cannot "train" people to not tunnel as if it's some moral choice.
If BHVR wanted to de-incentivize tunneling they would be looking for ways to do it. Tunneling happened when gen regression was meta and it'll continue happening the more people gain experience and the more they want to win. The problem might not even be tunneling itself. The problem is the difficulty and sometimes inability of solo survivors dealing with certain strategies (tunneling, camping, 3 gen) that require the whole team to be on the same page, all survivors knowing how to deal with each strategy accordingly, all playing for the same goal and most importantly being able to co-ordinate with each other.
Killers who claim they are tunneling for whatever reason other than wanting to win are just coping. There's nothing wrong with wanting to win. In every game where winning matters, the strongest strategies are usually the ones that are deemed safest, least interactive with the enemy and maybe simplest. Wanting to win in style (like say without add-ons or perks) is a different category on its own.
The problem is that the game is balanced around SWF, so those strategies have to stay around and solo survivor suffers in the process when they need to have the ability to be more self-reliant.
I wouldnt say the game is balanced around swf, its just not really balanced around solo either. More so somewhere inbetween.
-
I dont really like being let out for free or getting gifted pity hatch so for me probaly 1 but eh.
-
Is it knight or skull merchant?
-
Yea sure thats a big reason why i use bamboozle frequently cause the maps are unbalanced especially for m1 killers and you can use the windows over and over again.
-
I wouldnt mind if it gets changed, i like to play stealth killers quite alot aswell but in my normal games i rarely see it, i used to see it more often before it got changed a while back.
