Survivor sided? My guy, NOBODY CAN PURPOSEFULLY BRING META PERKS. It's nobody-sided, that's why it's so good.
Survivors have higher chance to get meta or good perks.
In 30 of my matches as killer i got bad/ terrible perks
In 30 of survivors matches i got meta or atleast good perks
Thats why i say yea it survivor sided
-
Im not. Im gonna skip this survivor sided mode
-
I gave it time
It sucks

"Just know, if your praising the philosophy of a character being destroyed with nerfs until a rework in over a year. Keep that same energy if it happens to one of your characters or perks. Keep the positive energy going"
Because I doubt this will be the last time they do this approach. They did it with Freddy. Now SM. What happens if another killer or perk is fundamentally problematic? Do we just need to obliterate it with 5 nerfs until a rework comes whenever BHVR sees fit? If that's the approach we want to take, so be it I guess. I feel that's why this is more than just SM overall. It's letting BHVR set a precedent on how they do characters or perks until a rework. Though they already set it with Freddy over 3 years ago. And noone fought then. We will get his rework eventually I'm sure. Twins rework did great right?
You also forgot sadako she was weak then super weak then very weak cause survivors dont know how tape works
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
Forever Freddy? I mean I suppose if you consider spending half the game trying to wake up or do literally everything at half speed an "easy counter" then ok.
Skully was also not healthy for the game on launch, which was exponentially amplified by regression perks.
I'm not sure why Sadako is in your list, since the biggest reason for her first rework was that survivors never had to interact with her power in like 95% of circumstances. Ignore TV's was meta, and that was a killer complaint.
You can be upset that the rework isn't good, that's fine. But let's not pretend that the old version of these killers was good or healthy either.
They were all weak.
Freddy needed to wait 7 seconds and survivors have god mode. Plus freddy was nerfed to the ground by bad survivors review bombing
Sadako has to pray survivors dont get tapes at all. She was noob stomper and every one agreed after her buff she was weak. Then if you grab her tape you practically are immune to her power which shows survivors just clueless how to play against her
Skull merchant is bad easily b tier killer only reason she was nerfed cause survivors go next or survivors refuse to learn
-
Telling you right now game is survivor sided

@Mandy said:
Given a brief look at the data, the numbers and complaints are about the same, so I don't think it's connected to gen regression at all.
I hope your data also shows that killers have to get a down in 30 seconds or else they be behind. I also hope your data also shows gens get done faster then it has ever done before.
Tunneling is more efficient to combat toolboxes and make more pressure
I play survivor and i noticed more Tunneling after gen regression you guys gutted

Nobody is saying tunneling doesn't happen when gen defense is strong, but it certainly happens more. And i have noticed it far more often in my games as survivor since the nerf to all the gen defense perks recently.
Same Before gen regression nerfs i barely see a tunneling killer
After nerfs i see it alot and i get it cause i see gens flying what can the killer do?
-
Well bhvr is slowly encouraging to tunnel/ camp cause some that counters something gets nerfed or gen regression gets badly nerfed theres nothing killer can do other then damn i tried but survivors have (insert perk here) i cant do anything about it other then tunnel them
-
No bhvr actually love survivors. Gen regression is nerfed gen progression is buffed. Bnp perks becoming a thing. Some uncounterable things that survivors have bhvr refuse to fix or nerf.
I would say bhvr is actively trying to make it survivor sided again

well thats what i thought, they just kept old blind saves for lockers. tbh they shouldve extended the immunity, it feels so bs to deal with that because the only viable play vs survivor jumping into locker is to grab them and that's no longer allowed.
No its allowed but you still get blinded

Like I want more stuff to be viable too, but now that you've put it like that, a small part of me hopes they don't, just so they can send the message that the game's balance is not a PVP interaction between survivor players and survivor haters.
Also the way the OP was written is quite amusing to me, it sounds like a jshlat bit. "Would you rather have killer buffs but no survivor buffs, or survivor buffs but no survivor buffs"
Also i didnt write that

i get we should buff survivors more and not buff the other side. we should have 10 more patches of buffs to survivors cause thats why this patch is so good small buffs to killers and alot of buffs to perks to survivors

Exactly. Comparing buffs to a bunch of meme perks that won't change them at all to actually impactful killer buffs is just incomprehensible
sad day that bad perks should not be buff cause survivor mains or people who dont want balance say so.
dbd fanbase doesnt want balance they want one side to get buff while others dont
sorry beast of prey hex two can play shadowborn lightborn all huntress perks genetic limits third seal hoarder hysteria insidious that bad doctor perk predator rapid brutality hangman trick septic touch shattered hope thwack undone unrelenting and zenshin tactics. those bad perks from survivors deserve buffs not these bad perks that nobody uses cause they would be op by these survivors :(

I think the thing I hate most about OP's argument is that it's actually really bad for the game because it sends the message that the quality of the buffs/nerfs don't matter only that both sides have an equal number of changes which is such an elementary understanding of game balance.
I know right why buff both sides hell give more buffs to survivors they need like kate said its been killer sided since launch
-
@Kaitsja said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3772275#Comment_3772275
You just said want an equal number of buffs. Since you're only counting the buffs killers got as a whole rather than individually, that would translate to 9 killers needing to be buffed regardless of how they're performing or the relative strength of the survivor perks that got buffed. That's massive.
You said equal amount of buffs. You literally said equal. You just admitted you lied
-
@Kaitsja said:

Kind of like how you've been lying this entire time?
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3772269#Comment_3772269
- Chemical Trap duration reduced to 40/50/60 seconds
- Mirrored Illusion duration reduced to 40/50/60 seconds
Both of those are nerfs. Further, Scratchmarks are now more visible which is a nerf to survivor and a buff to killer.
Where did i say i want massive buffs point it out
-
@ratcoffee said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3772169#Comment_3772169
I think a better analogy would be, if survivors were given 10 extra health states and killers were given 0.05 second faster cooldowns on missed attacks - since his argument is centered around raw numbers of buffs, but based on his complaints I imagine he would object to that specific pair of changes (as would I tbh)
I hope by reading this he'd be able to get a little clearer idea of why looking at just the numbers is so uncompelling to so many of us
Yea i realized its killer sided and been that way since launch and survivors always been getting the bad patchesi guess
-
@Akumakaji said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/422666/so-no-buffs-to-killer-perks
Well, we got a lot for us going last patch, and this here is mostly QOL stuff, with all this perks that require a half gen going down to 40%. You know how often my mate asked me "uhm, this is awkward, but since no one of us missed a skillcheck and we have been working on this gen nonstop together … could you just STOP repairing it for 5s, so that I can craft my Flasbang afterwards? Thanks"
Us killers got a lot of rarely used perks cooldowns basically halfed, like Trails of Torment or Oppression, making them now pretty good or at least fun and viable. Its a give and take and not always in the same patch, but the survivor buffs ain't all doom and gloom. Well, I will eat my words when everyone is running Finesse x Dance with me x Quick and Quiet and I try to mindgame a survivor for 20s that isn't there anymore, but I will try to stay chill.
I still think bad perks should also get buffed like beast of prey distressing hex two can play you know bad perks that nobody runs but they instead said no and buff alot of survivor stuff but gave less buffs to killers. Which is an issue even if survivors got the same problem that could happen next patch.
-
@ratcoffee said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3772088#Comment_3772088
Yeah, honestly with buffs to these perks it's almost like an indirect buff to killers. People will feel more empowered to use these perks that encourage survivors to [only partially complete a gen, then spend a bunch of time off gens trying to engage with the killer in order to get value.]
...OK, maybe "indirect buff to killers" is overselling it. But the perks that got buffed do encourage survivors to take a break from repairing if you want to get value, so one would hope killer players worried about survivors sticking to gens would be happy there are more reasons for survivors to not do that
Indirect is pushing it it doesnt do anything for killers

^ this.
If a Survivor decides to run a Perk like Chemical Trap or Blast Mine over a Meta-Perk due to a Buff, I think this is a good thing.
And I am always amazed that Killers manage to ignore quite substancial things for them in this Patch, especially Dredge and Nemesis might be powerhouses with the changes.
Cause its just 3 buffs not alot compared to survivors

It count aa 1 so 3 buffs

@Laluzi said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3771873#Comment_3771873
It's really not. If killers got a 10% permanent haste buff and survivors got a 10% increase to Premonition, This Is Not Happening, and We'll Make It, killers got way more out of the exchange even though survivors got three times as many buffs.
Quality over quantity. Survivors got universal buffs to hook time and much less valuable buffs to meme perks. Killers got a universal buff via Scratch Marks and buffs to a few underused killers. It balances out.
10 va 3 buffs isnt balanced out

Nemsis Dredge and Doctor didn't get a singular change. They each got several different changes. If you want to count the quantity you need to actually count the individual number of changes.
Again wrong

People also see this as killer sided patch now
-
@Crowman said:
There's 14 total listed killer changes.
There's 10 total listed survivor perk changes.
Counting the quantity of buffs is a pointless task, because most of the survivor perk changes won't change much about the perk. Diversion and Deception will still be fun perks that may work once or twice until the killer stops falling for it. Dance With Me now works better with Quick and Quiet as they now have the same CD. The trap perks might get an additional use in a match with their lower activation charge.
The killer changes are going to be more impactful to the people who want to play those killers rather than the handful of minor survivor perks getting small buffs.
No its 3 causw nemesis dredge and doctor got buffed. You cant just say all killers gor those buffs cause legion don't have static blast

…In this patch.
There's no requirement for this patch to have an equal amount of changes for both survivors and killers. And, as I said, the specific survivor buffs we did get are appealing to see from the killer perspective as well.
Vs 10

so every patch has to have the exact same amount of buffs for each side or its unfair..? you're just making up problems at this point...doesn't seem like you even fully know what you're talking about, you just wanted a reason to complain
No i have reasons but these people just dont want to see it either survivor sided main or people just think 3 buffs is enough vs 10 buffs

killers received way more buffs than survivors over the last 4 patches.
Not true either. It was like 4-5 6-4 which is close and its either survivor got more or killer got more
This is 10 survivor buff vs small 3 buffs to killers
-
@jesterkind said:
Is it really required to make sure there's buffs to both sides' perks in every single patch? I think it's okay for some patches to focus more on the specific things the devs had ideas for/are already finished. There's always next patch, after all.
Besides, on top of the three killer buffs looking pretty juicy and the Midwich + scratch marks changes looking interesting, I'd argue that survivors getting a suite of buffs to perks that are more active and engaging to play against (for the most part, anyway) is to the killer's benefit too. More variety is good, and more meme-y perks are fun to face, too.
I dont care if they rework freddy to be s tier and they buff every bad survivor perk there need to be some balanced between the two. Cause then bhvr will think we want a patch where 1 side gets no buffs and the other gets 20 buffs
-
3 vs 10 this is loopsided and need to be around the same amount
-
@Science_Guy said:
Ah, everyone's favorite pastime, counting all the buffs in the patch notes and complaining about whatever side "gets more", what a constructive and relevant and enjoyable exercise, not ridiculous at all…
And there were 3 killers buffs so you didn't even do that right.
My bad 3 buffs to killers vs 10 buffs to survivors still not good
-
@Shroompy said:
are we looking at the same patch??
The majoriry of perk buffs for are all meme perks and allow for more shenanigans, and the 3 killers that got looked at received some very note worthy buffs.

Ormond has 1 map that is in the files where the main building is a watchtower and the map is a u

The coldwind maps, haddonfield, most of the azarov maps (except one now), a couple of the red forest variants, most of the Macmillan maps (one is kinda balanced, the rest lean killer), eyrie, and those are the maps that are largely killer sided in general. Other maps are really good for some specific killers but not all.
Eyrie isnt killer sided its survivor sided and been survivor sided

I was hyped AF and literally **** bricks when AoT came out. Seeing Wall Maria in dbd was a dream come true for me.
Outside of that, I'm fine with this being all we get for anything anime.
I would love Danganronpa collab tho, a Remnants of Despair collection starring Julie could go hard, would be awesome to see Julie be the leader for once.
Parasite would be really cool, it's even from the 80s. Shinichi would basically be Ash 2.0 with the hand but sadly BHVR would likely never go back to the "fake survivor" idea but if they did, Parasyte would be the license to do it with.
The Parasite wouldn't be designed to blend in, the survivor you inhabit is just a host. That's actually 5d checkers for BHVR because now killer mains are shopping for survivor drip lol
Sadly bhvr would have to lock Licence characters but that'd still be insanely hype I'd love to split my head open Ala Demogorgon and kill people as Not Claudette
Oh yeah danganronpa is psychological horror
