You say you’re insulting the perk, not the people, but your earlier posts suggest otherwise.
If saying X perk is trash is an insult to you, that's ok.
Mature dude, this is a game, dont get agitated about things like this lmao, you are funny, you make me laugh (maybe this is my last laugh from 2019) so thanks :)

You're wasting a perk slot for a very niche situation where bringing/finding a medkit is a much better option. Definitely not a noob strat.
Going against stealth killers is rare at rank 1 (at least on my region) so we can apply you're same logic to spine chill.

I think you're the only one agitated. Maybe because you're denying the fact Spine Chill is undeniably much better than you make it out to be?
Im not gonna keep discussing with you, cause we are not going to make it anywhere and this is just a toxic discussion.
Just a tip: Dont get agitated about someone saying you're favorite perk is trash.
Look at @GrootDude He said spine chill is he's fav perk, and he didn't get mad agitated about me saying it is bad.
Bye bye, happy 2020.

Testing 2 aura perks together is a noob strat. Just run DS and BT together. Or try something fun like Alert, small game, or unbreakable.
Actually Unbreakable is my main perk, but as I said Im testing perk rn.
And it isn't, it can be life saver in some scenarios like:
You are injured and need to be healed
No one go down, which means kindred isn't working
You get a heal thanks to bond and a possible good chase thanks to it.
So no, it isn't a noob strat.

Bond is to when my teammates rarely get hook and I dont have a medkit, so I need a heal.
But im just trying it to see how it plays.
Cause as I said I used to run spine chill (just swap it to bond)
Im testing with perks -_-

You don't find it useful, so you make an entire thread to bash it. That's like me not liking whoppers, but pulling up to burger king to explain why i don't like whoppers. No one cares. It's not useful dialogue. Because you are not required to run it. Therefore you're just poop talking it. Which isn't positive, so yeah id say toxic. You literally said overrated. Meaning other's opinion on it is what you have issue with.
Im saying my POV in spine chill, and see how people try to convince me.
And yeah people do care, cause this thread already has 4 pages.
If you dont care about it, you could easily not comment.

You're making a lot of sweeping generalizations based on anecdotal evidence. Ghost face is played a lot, along with spirit, those are stealth killers. Pig also is played a fair amount. You clearly just posted this to hate on the perk. Idk why it means that much to you. But yeah, your mind is made up. Like i said, post is not credible. Just toxic. Don't find it useful? Don't run it. Simple. You're basically mad that other people value it. Definition of toxic.
Mad?
Im giving my reasons of why I dont like spine chill, they're doing the same but saying why they do like it, we both are discussing why it is bad/good.
It looks like you dont know the definition of toxic.
You've probably read about the importance of not surrounding yourself with toxic people. But what defines a toxic person? How do you know that you're hanging out with one? And if you are, whDid I insult someone?
NO.
Ghostface is played a lot, yes, but spine chill isn't going to hard counter him, since he's main power is stalking, and he can stalk from the other side of the map.
Pig isn't played that much in rank 1, are we playing the same rank and game bruh?
And spirit isn't countered by spine chill, the real counter here is Iron Will, spine chill only was a help with old prayers beads.
And if my post isn't "credible"
Why do you keep discussing here?

Have you used them or had them use on you? Prolly not.
They are still very strong. Without Spine Chill you really have no way to know if she is coming for you or not. It's the same with Legion's Iri Button or Doc's fake heartbeat. Spine Chill tells you when it's fake.
This besides being an absolute hard counter to stealth killers. Like yea you can play on edge all the time and move if you hear the slightest thing but with Spine Chill you just wait for it to light up before you leave. You don't need to really even look around. It shuts down these killers so hard. Anything Oblivious/Undetectable is worthless against Spine Chill.
Plus it tells you what has the killer's attention. If you hear a heartbeat on a gen, but Spine Chill only flickers then killer is nearby but not focused on your gen. If it lights up then they are coming to your gen. If you are healing behind a wall and it lights up, killer has Nurse's. Knowing what the killer is focused on is a big deal.

Claims Vigil is good.

Where did I say vigil is good?
Im saying it is a good combo combined with sprint burst, which most likely will get you 2 sprint burst in the same chase, and that's REALLY STRONG.

There's plenty of corners to block vision and some maps are heaven for stealth killers. I get enough grabs in high ranks as Ghost Face to know it has huge snowball potential.
Some maps?
You mean Hawkins, Lery's (which is getting reworked), the game, yamaoka..
4 maps..
The chance of going in those maps are low, so that's not an argument tbh.
And you most likely are going against braindead survivor, cause
- Grabs are bugged
- Any good survivor that has a good reaction-time will instantly move, which will cancel you're grab (cause as I mentioned grabs are bugged)
-
@johnmwarner said:

Yes.
Also you can't see a smart Wraith on most maps, they use objects to block LOS. Honestly the more you talk the more I think you go against green rank killers that have no clue what they're doing.
Im a red rank surv, bud, Try harder :)
You can see a wraith from the distance and as I mentioned there's a better counter, sprint burst, instead of using a perk that's situational and barely works against no-stealth killer, sprint burst is a counter to stealth killer and normal killers, and let's not mention the 99'ing, that's a very strong tactic.
Honestly the more you talk the more I think you're another braindead spine chill user.
And btw Im talking about solo survs, and if you play solo a wasted perk slot can basically kill you.

Plenty of people are playing Wraith now because of Trutalent, again you have clearly made up your mind so there's no point trying to convince you otherwise.
I like spine chill, I'm sure you're using perks I feel are unnecessary as well but everyone has to go with what is best for them.
Wraith needs to uncloack, wraith isn't 100% invisible.
And a better counter to stealth killers is:
Sprint Burst.
Everyone is now using sprint burst + vigil to 99'ing it, cause it is really strong, and you can sit in a gen without any problem cause you have a sprint..
Way better than spine chill, more eficient, no situational.

I like it cause I prefer not to have a Pig, GF, Spirit, or Myers grab me off something. It's a free down and can quickly snowball the match. Old Prayer Beads basically made Spine Chill mandatory.

Why would anyone go straight to a locker if the perk is telling you there's an 80% chance the killer is watching you go to said locker...
I feel like this is not a credible post. The perk is very good.
Im saying that cause most spine chill user do that, they think the killer is coming only because the perk light up for 1 milisecond, and stay in that locker for 1 minute.
(The killer didn't come btw)
Believe what you want, the perk is over rated and not that useful.
And most stealth killers are weak/no one playing them and that's the pro of spinechill, so we can say it is a situational perk.

A guaranteed chase is very strong imo. Spine chill can save countless health states during a match against a killer who tries messing with their TR.
I think you're the spine chill fanboy tbh.
You're over exaggerating the spine chills effect, and this where I say it is over rated.
If you are good a chases/looping you will not have problem at being chased.

This is the exact kind of comment that lots of veterans made for a few years.
First, everyone used Premonition & Spine Chill cause of "Wraith OP", and it was pretty split among the players on which was better.
When everyone realized that Wraith wasn't OP, those 2 Perks quickly became meh Perks.
And now they're back again...well, one is.
Btw, this is not talking about anyone who has always used it, but from my experience in-game, on the Steam forums and on these forums, it was mostly a disregarded Perk among experienced players for a very long time.
This is not to change your mind, i don't really care what my fellow Survivors use.
But it's in general just not a bad Perk to have, miles better than, idk, 2/3 Ash Perks.
I agree with you

So you can't subtract?
Huh?
Im saying that diference of noticing if the killer is coming is 6 meters... since the default terror radius is 32.
So
32+6= 36
And the wiki says "Get notified when the Killer is looking directly in your direction and standing within a range of 36 metres."
A range of 36m
Default terror radius: 32
Soo..?

You don't need an exhaustion perk to be good at chasing, but people still use exhaustion perks. Exhaustion perks help in the chase which can give the killer a harder time to catch the survivor. Spine Chill is the exact same where the killer has a much harder time sneaking up on the survivor, and sometimes even stopping a chase from happening.
You're comparing apple to oranges..

Spine chill activates before you can hear the TR, and it gives a speed boost for any objective you are on.
Default terror radius is 32
Spine Chill activates at 36 meters
So the diference is: 6 meters
6 meters for a perk slot?
And btw, you are never going to be sure if the killer is coming at you, since it can be faking, you will most likely need to move when the killer is at 16 meters (the same thing a no spìne chill user would do)

This sums it up for me. I always play the game with headphones, but even then, once that gen starts going louder, it gets tricky to even hear the terror radious, let alone the breathing/footsteps of a killer coming close. So, Spine Chill is a huge advantage at times to let me sneak away and get a slight headstart on a chase
That happens cause sounds are bugged, wait for the sound to get fixed...

From how far away can you hear stealth killers? Hearing them from TR range would negate their power. Against good stealth killers Spine Chill will help a lot.
You can't hear them, but you can see where they are with some good eyes and if you set your graphics low basically you are wallhacking.
And stealth killers are not the only killers in game, most killers have a terror radius, so what's the point on using spine chill in that scenario?

It's way better than you think it is. At the very least it's A tier.
A highly underrated perk. It's good in general against all killers but just completely hard counters any stealth killers. They rely on getting the jump on you for an initial hit and Spine Chill single handedly makes that never happen.
A tier?
I would say B tier at best.
It is a good counter to stealth killers, but why would I sacrifice 1 perk slot when most stealth killers make noises/has counters?

I hate stealthy play and yet I can't play without Spine Chill. Like I said, it's about knowing how to use it.
Spine Chill isn't worth that perk slots when MOST stealth killers can be countered without this perk, cause they make noise.
Maybe if you are a not experienced player it can be really useful, but once you make it to the 2k hours (like me) you will notice it is a very bad perk, cause you can predict killers.
and btw why would I use spine chill when I have SWF (with comms) but well this is off-topic and is another reason why solos are underpowered.
-
@Rje52 said:
Spine Chill is surprisingly good. On paper the perk kind of meh, but in game the perk can be a life saver. Any killer running Monitor loses any kind of ability to sneak up on the survivor using Spine Chill. Not to mention this perk stops all gen grabs. Spirit also cannot pull the "Stand Still" mind game as you can tell if its the husk or the real spirit.
Spine Chill is honestly a great perk and underrated. Being able to have priceless game knowledge about the killer without the killer knowing makes the perk worth its waiting gold.
You dont need from a perk if you have good headphones and eyes.

Generator sounds mask killer sounds, so a Ghostface creeping up to you on an 80% gen is really difficult to hear. And if you’re in a more enclosed map it makes it much harder to watch for them. Some maps are better for Spine Chill than others - nobody should really need it on Blood Lodge for example, but on Yamaoka it can be life-saving.
I find it useful for working out some of the killer’s perks, like A Nurse’s Calling or BBQ. And it lets me know if the killer is returning to the hook or if it’s safe to heal. I actually find it more useful for helping me with a bold playstyle than a stealthy one because it lets me know when to commit to a gen and when to start running.
It’s also helped me clutch some exit gates, totem cleanses and gen completions, when that fraction of a second can be the difference between finishing the action and getting grabbed.
Sounds are bugged so we can't take that as an argument right now.
It is USEFUL on some special scenarios, but most of the time it isn't.
And the bonus isn't that much for sacrificing 1 perk slot, when you have better perks.

Wrong, used it for 1 month, and you know why I take it off from my build? cause stealth isn't viable (and spine chill is a stealth perk)with a killer that has good eyes, looping will always be better and waste more time.

Why would I like 2 meters of diference?

@xCarrie said:
- Great against stealth killers
- Can be used in loops to tell if the killer is moonwalking/mindgaming
- Speeds up interactions (really helpful with exit gates)
- Makes vaulting a tiny bit faster
Overall just useful in many situations imo, plus I like to use it when I’m lazy and don’t wanna use headphones and just play a quick match.
The only thing that I can consider useful is the increase (that 9%)
And once again if you have experience on this game you dont need from this perk to counter stealth killers.
How do I know if the killer is mindgaming with this perk?
And that vault speed isn't a reason to use it, it is a minimum diference...
Fast vault: 0.075 seconds (With resilience+spine chill) so it is most likely 0.035 only with spine chill.
You will barely notice something and with those broken window hitboxes and dedicated server it is just straight trash.
