you can do what you must, like you said it doesn't change my statement. also grammar doesn't effect IQ. Albert Einstein was dyslexic yet he's got to be one the smartest, well rounded individuals this world has known. (yes i have mild dyslexia, doesn't mean i don't have a higher IQ than the next man.)

You make a heck of an assumption then. No IQ because they don't play the way you need them too. Or better yet, WANT them too. Toxicity is one of the reasons I usually skip right past end-game chat.

  • @Stuart1995 said:

entitled survivors will always be salty as they're probably used to be carried/boosted. than once they go in a solo they think its gonna be easy, than you release hell upon on them. with no IQ or decency than have to revert to toxicity. it will never change..

@Stuart1995 , I hate to bring this up, but if you are going to attack the IQ of an individual, maybe check your grammar and spelling. Even if you are making a valid point about the gameplay.

No, NOED is not on a fix totem. It gets assigned to the remaining totems when the last gen is done or hatch is closed. The only way to cleanse it "by accident" is, to start cleansing, then the last gen pops and the totem you are working on turns into a lit totem. If you cleanse it before NOED activates, another dull totem will be lit. The only way to prevent NOED is to cleanse ALL dull totems on the map. Also meaning, if you have for example Ruin still up and 4 dull totems cleansed, then NOED has no free spot either.

Thank you very much! So dull totem cleansing can most of the time just be for BP's

  • @Fibijean said:

Hex totems are placed in the map at the start of the game, before the players even load in. So it's not possible to cleanse the corresponding totem for something like Ruin before it activates, because it is already active from the start of the match.

The only exception to this is No One Escapes Death. Because it is the only hex perk which activates after the start of the game, it is possible to disable it in advance by cleansing dull totems. In NOED's case, because the hex is applied to a random totem at the point when the perk activates, the survivors need to cleanse all the dull totems on the map to stop it from activating.

Never said "thanks" for the reply. Now I realize except for NOED there will be a LIT totem at the start if they have a HEX. Maybe we get lucky and cleanse NOED before it activates even just by cleansing 1 totem - the right one.

UGH yuck, another NOED complaint post. How very original

Let's change something because we don't LIKE it and can't overcome it.

Tbh i never made this post to say that i did bad or anything just trying to show the broken matchmaking.

In the game i got enough emblems to stay at pip and i had also used a streamer so i definitely got enough bp after and after the match i even had a laugh with one of the survivors as he even noticed on how bad the matchmaking was.

I mainly just found it unfair that i was going against people who i just couldnt combat at all, im good with matches with say one r1, two r3 and one r5 because most of the matches are normally balanced out but when it was all rank 1's and i get that i could've played better but people still have no idea what actually happened of me struggling for even a grasp of pressure or even how well they actually played this is why the term "get good" is just a stupid saying especially in a game like dbd because you're basically begging them to become toxic back at you

And i just want to leave this for anyone who reads this, i dont want to go pro level at this game nor am i going to derank. I want a challenge and to have fun, not play toxic and either bully low ranks or get bullied by higher ranks if the game stops me going any higher than rank 6 whilst playing casually i will stay there. This game already has a really big toxic side of the player base and im not going to add myself to it.

The way it's going, and with some people more deserving than others to rank up, maybe there shouldn't be any rankings at all. It would even help with lobby times I'd think.

  • This comment will definitely get some angry feedback, but here goes:

Anyone notice that when people 'lose' or just don't play well, most times it's someONE or someTHING else's fault? Not their own?

I'm sure it DOES happen - you get screwed - but this is ridiculous.

  • I'll see a post like this. Then a week from now another one very similar, but you can swap 'killer' with 'survivor'. Then back again another week later.

Personally, I have a LOT of fun playing and these posts are just ridiculous with the amount of complaining. Do some have merit? Absolutely. But the ones that complain because someone couldn't 'overcome' something...... LMFAO!

    Good hunting and surviving all!

  • @DeathBeam said:

Killers are OP at the beginning because survivors don't know how play at the beginning.

I agree. I am still new at the game and I am HORRIBLE at survivor. Now, am I any good at killer? Maybe not GOOD , but playing killer seems to be much easier for a noob than survivor. I like playing both equally right now...

  • So, let me ask this question: What happens when there simply aren't enough 'similar' ranks waiting to play? This kind of matchup WILL happen occasionally, right? I wait a few mins. lately when trying to play killer - it seems that when I wait that long I can expect pairing with much better ranks than I'm currently at.

  • To add to that, the time I am the most 'jumpy' as a survivor....is when I'm holding the lever to open the gates. Most nerve-racking 20 sec ever! LOL

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

No but extended chases tighten my rear so much I could crush diamonds into super diamonds.

    LOL

  • I changed mine from keyboard Spacebar to mousewheel to not die after second hook. (Tapping) I just have to move the wheel at a constant medium speed to keep the "claws" off.

A & D seem just fine for me regarding wiggle.

  • One of the biggest problems - I think - is that at any given time, there has to be 80% people wanting to be survivors. So, there HAS to be moments in time where there just isn't a killer of that average rank available. Only 9-10 ranks away as the closest.

So, do we want to wait for who knows how long for a killer to become available or just get into the game and have at it? Probably different feelings both ways on this scenario.

Still being a new player of a teens-ranking, I just want to get in and play. I may feel differently as I progress.

  • Personally, I have had well-matched games (as far as the actual ranking system goes) One game I played against 1-2 Red ranks and a few single-digit ones when I'm still a 17 that game as killer. They were NOT toxic about it, just said I didn't "need to be in that game" as I got schooled..LOL.

As a new player, I try to make the most of it regarding learning when I get thrown in the deep end of the pool.

  • The part about being threatened via reporting.

As if reporting someone for breaking an 'unwritten rule' is punishable. LOL

Survivor rulebook page 1, section 1-A "Don't tunnel me." RME

  • I watch Sattelizer. He makes fun at times but does it in the most loving way..:) Fungoose is very good - he explains what he does and why he does it as he plays.

Just like something that shows the stats of the last 5 or something matches. Like it isn't needed. But I think it could be a nice QoL thing that shouldn't be to hard to add in. IDK just pop corn thoughts.

I would think it would be interesting to see my personal escape vs dies vs totems cleansed e.t.c. in my history of playing. See how it changes as I play more...

There are certain maps which are better for survivors in general, but not really for particular survivors. The only major difference between survivors is their appearance, and survivors who blend in better than others, like Claudette, tend to do so regardless of the terrain.

Generally speaking, indoor maps are particularly bad for survivors. They have the lowest escape rates. The Coldwind Farm maps (especially Rotten Fields and Fractured Cowshed), as well as Haddonfield, are generally regarded as being particularly good for survivors. They have the highest escape rates. People tend to have split opinions about most of the others.

Certain maps also work well with particular perks - for example, Balanced Landing is good on maps like Haddonfield, Crotus Prenn Asylum or The Game where there are a lot of drops on which to activate the perk.

Some maps are also easier to hide on than others. The Yamaoka Estate maps are particularly notorious for this, but most of the other outdoor maps, with the exception of Ormond, are also decent in this regard.

Thanks! I'll try to remember to use certain perks if I use a map offer. Makes sense.

Honestly I think they just need to find a way to lower the anxiety, stress, etc... of playing killer some. No one is saying to mess with the game's balance, but there are folks that are literally scared to play killer, but almost no one has ever felt that way about survivor. I am sure someone will quote me and say they totally have, but that is a one off versus the piles and piles of people who have said they find killer role to just be an awful unfun experience.

I think that is what needs to be targetted, not buffs or nerfs really. A fair matchmaking would go a long way too.

You know what? That is exactly how I feel. I am fairly new player and plan on learning ALL aspects of the game but I lean towards survivor because of the 'feeling' of excitement and less stress. In a horror game it probably shouldn't be that way - maybe my feelings will change as I get more experience....?

  • As a fairly-new player, when I get knocked down on one swing, or hooked 3 quick times in succession - I do not blame the killer. I TELL MYSELF I NEED TO GET BETTER! Nothing 'illegal' about when it happens. Hacking or teaming with a killer is another story.

If it's in the game then use it.

  • First thought with the chains was Pinhead. But this is something that SEEMS to be chained up. Cujo? A werewolf?

A 3 men SWF playing normally, no items, red ranks

A spirit hooks one and slugs the 2nd of my friends in the SWF with me, I get chased, ran her for about 2 minutes and she finally downs me. The problem there is that one of us, the hooked one, had kindred, so, we all could see the random 4th member of our team running from my downed friend to my hooked friend teabagging the one on the floor and spamming the "unhook animation" without unhooking the guy on hook and proceeding to teabag them both without stopping.

My friend died on 1st hook...

My 2nd friend got hooked and tried to get off hook but died on 1st hook too...

Spirit finds me crawling, hooks me, BOOM! BBQ! The Spirit runs straight for the 4th and hooks him, I try to unhook myself and I KOBY! I ran straight to the random and started teabagging him and doing to him the same "fake unhooking" animation he did to us. The Spirit comes, just looks at what's happening and proceeds to hit the hooked guy repeatedly, as soon as he died the Spirit downed me with NOED and carried me to HATCH!

    Post game messages:

Killer: Were you doing that cause he sandbagged you all? I think I saw that

Me: He didn't do anything and was urban evasioning all the match, he teabagged my friend on hook and the one slugged

Killer: I'm glad I helped Karma

    Me: Taped for posterity

    Killer: LMAO, send video

I love 'revenge/karma' stories against players like that! Thanks.

  • Of course I would. Who am I to determine what they would enjoy? Personally, I shouldn't recommend or "Not recommend" anything at all. Let the individual try it themselves. I'll tell them how I feel about it personally - but that's it. Now, being a new player I am still having fun with this game, but even if it wears on me I won't tell someone to not try it.

  • As a new player who has only done survivor so far: using my camera to my advantage. I still forget to practice my finger movements on the keyboard while running and trying to look behind.

  • It's in my own personality to show good sportsmanship, so I will probably always type GG. Now, I am new to DBD, so once I figure out toxic players or players working w/Killers or what have you, I won't say anything. But, by nature, I will do so.
