BBQ for the bloodpoints to lessen the grind.
Spinechill or kindred for solo survivor play.
-
I need this perk on Lerys, I can never find gens quickly. Probably would be good for me on midwich too (not too familiar with it yet)
-
If this were an actual event, i would agree with you....
-
I had issues with myers. Worked fine with legion. Throw on distressing and your set.
-
Xenomorph would probably be the only licensed one that I would like to see. Plenty of non-licensed killers that they could put their twist on. Werewolf, grim reaper, vampire, mummy, and maybe some type of devil.

Dead Dead by Daylight first came out, it didn't have the microtransactions or battle passes though. When it introduced the concept of the store and the Rift then that's when it should have gone free to play. If you're going to intimate free to play models then your game needs to be free to play. You have yet to convince me why this would be a failed model.
Literally no elected official or state in this country share my views politically. But I'm not interested in discussing my politics with you tbh. Discussing this is exhausting enough. But I tell you what, I'm going to drop a video for you. It's an old video but it implies here. I've had the same attitude you did and looking into various sources has quelled that. Hopefully that will do the same for you here.

Hard to take a guy seriously when he has a squid on his head lol
He is talking about aaa premium $60 games though. I do hate it when those come out and then there are dlc packs ready to buy day 1, that's bs.
Dbd will probably go free at some point, but I don't think it's a big deal if they don't. I have never played a game for multiple years that keeps evolving like this one. They could have easily quit on it and just made a dbd 2, but instead they added the skins and rift to have a revenue stream which they have used to grow the game.

I remember that and it was one of the best moves they have ever pulled. It drew in plenty of players and for the most part of they were willing to stay on board. Dead by Daylight has its flaws but "won't last the year"? What? Have you that little faith in the game? It out lasted most asymmetrical horror games out there. I fail to see how heading in the direction of free to play would tank the game, I'd need to see some sources.
Yes, people will still buy skins. Fortnite is free and people are buying skins left and right. I give Fortnite less ######### because the game is free despite my own misgivings I explained earlier. And yes, I know you don't want to hear it but yes there are strong pay to win elements in the DLC. Most crucial perks are locked behind pay walls. There's an option to earn the costumes, the perks, and the characters but it's behind a tedious grind that will take the time of a second full time job. All by design to have you part from your wallet just like a mobile phone game.
Whether you personally love the rift or not is irrelevant. My criticism shouldn't take away your enjoyment from this game, but I do challenge you to think critically about the products you consume. Unless your time is worthless then it's not free. Macote might as well put me on the clock at this point.
If companies that sell alcoholic beverages had predatory ads? You bet your ass I would. I'm pro consumer. And yes, most marketing is scummy I know people that work in marketing and I do contracting work for a pretty major tech company. Just because something is normalized doesn't make it correct. When we grow complacent then things get worse. I have to say I find your attitude to be pretty disgusting. That being said, I'm not exactly a fan of Capitalism. You'd be barking up the wrong tree.
The bugs and glitches are pretty bad, they're worse for console. I have this game for PC and Switch. Consoles are a nightmare to play this on, they still haven't done anything with the optimization.
That's unfortunate my friend cause they already had. They have been selling us solutions to problems they themselves cause like most companies do.
I have some faith in dbd now, albeit a little less since the last patch (I am on ps4). When i said it wouldn't last a year i was talking about when it first came out. I don't think that it would have made it if it came out as a free to play game.
You can call my attitude disgusting, but i have yet to see a better system than free will and capitalism. I am not saying it is by any means perfect, but let people buy what they want. Sounds like you are in one of those states that have the same philosophy (lucky you).
-
I don't know why it is such a big deal that dbd isn't free. It has been on ps+ before so it was free to a lot of people and it is regularly on sale for around $12. You also need to remember that free to play was not an option for dbd, it would not have lasted a year.
But even if it was free, wouldn't people still buy skins? I don't, but I see nothing wrong with it. It doesn't give you an advantage (not pay to win), so what's wrong with someone buying a skin if they want it?
I love the rift, it gives me something else to do which is what this game needs. It has a free track, so you can participate without paying a dime. You can also wait and buy it at the end so you know exactly what you are getting for your money. If you play a lot (and I mean a lot), they even give your auric cells back.
As far as taking advantage of people, you can't blame BHVR if people can't control themselves. Are the beer companies to blame if someone becomes an alcoholic? All advertising is scummy on some level, it is just trying to find ways to get your money. Hello capitalism.
My only problem with BHVR, is that there are a lot of bugs/issues that take way too long to get fixed (if they ever do).
As long as they don't go pay to win them I will continue to play/support them.

Enjoy the fancy new graphics update from the ground up.

In my experience, a Killer usually gets 1 down with NOED and then it gets cleansed, against decent Survivors anyway. It's really not that strong considering you have to wait all game to get it.
Besides, good Killers don't need NOED to kill you anyway.
Exactly, if someone gets a 4k solely because of NOED, then those survivors are garbage.
-
If you got hundreds your lucky, I received a whole 16 points when I got 5000 in a match. I hope they fix it right after they fix the ps4 frame rate fiasco.
-
Wait and see how far you get and then you can decide if its worth it. If you reach 70 then it is definitely worth it because you get all of the auric cells back.
-
They might just be trying to get more xp for the rift. The longer you are in a match the more xp you get. I doubt it though :)
-
Can someone find that dead horse meme????
-
Probably because he is new. Limited supply of cosmetics means more demand.

No, Hope lasts 2 minutes and is 7%. This add-on we don't know the amount and it lasts 20 seconds.
Gotcha, hope is fine. I thought there was going to be an add-on that gave survivors 7% speed boost for two minutes whenever they decided to activate it. 20 seconds isn't bad, mostly just annoying.
-
I can't imagine they would increase run speed by 7%. Is it maybe just repair/ heal speed?
If it really is run speed for 2 minutes that is game breaking imo.

Meh. I think the survivor add ons are going to break the game. I dont need/want the killer add ons.

I immediately bought the new GF skin so
That one is sweet. I just wish you could get it with shards. I get it though, since it's licensed and all. I picked up the legion and blight.
-
Already excited because you can get the legion and blights new skins with shards. Usually the good ones are auric cells only.
Unfortunately I am on PS4 so I can't use them until they patch this latest update. It is unplayable right now with the freezing and stuttering.
-
Worst
Update
Ever
-
Horrible update for PS4 players. Pretty much unplayable without getting motion sickness from all the stuttering. Just in time for the event too :( I hope it gets fixed soon but I am not holding my breath.

I do agree that a new tutorial needs to be updated. But a swf opt out would Hurt the game. How? Faster solo lobbies. New player retention is almost a given. Swfs might have a bit of a wait. I still believe it would benefit the overall game more then hinder.
Solo lobbies would also be longer. You can't remove a portion of the survivor pool and then expect lobbies to fill faster.
And then that SWF lobby wait would be an eternity.
If the player base was much much bigger, then a SWF option could work. Unfortunately DBD doesn't have that.
-
To help the new players they should implement a practice mode with bots. The tutorials don't really help that much.
Having an option to turn off swf would hurt the game much more than it would help.

Do the players or killers have an option or choice to play against or with swfs? No so then it's forced. Why do you think we have an influx of new players come and then leave. There is not huge learning curve. There is no balance\choice. Both sides feel the swf negativity.
That's like saying all players are forced to play against mori's. Not because there are mori's in every game, but because there is no option to turn it off. Do you see what is wrong with your reasoning?
I get it, I would like to not face swf's or mori's but they are part of the game.
Also remember not all swf's are sweaty or toxic, and some people don't use mori's until after they hook people twice.
-
I just don't get how you can call it forced. It is random matchmaking, sometimes you get swf, sometimes you don't. You can't separate them because this isn't fortnite where there are millions of players at any given time. I don't like any idea that would cause longer queues and this definitely would.
-
If the survivor is about to die and the killer is proxy camping, I will try an unsafe unhook and take a hit just to give them a chance to escape. So I should just let them die now?
-
45, and an actual grandpa...
-
I took a long break and started back up as a rank 20 survivor. I couldn't believe how often I was camped and/or tunneled. It's no wonder new players don't stick with this game. You need to make it to around rank 10 where you don't see it as often.
I know it's because the noob killers don't know what to do, but it is a major turnoff for the noob survivors.
-
It's not a nefarious plan by the devs, i just personally think that since this is a casual game that the rift could be a little more casual as well.
Try and entice the middle 50% of the games player base that don't play as much rather than the upper 80% that play a lot regardless of the rift.
-
I finished all challenges last night and I am at level 61.
I wish that behaviour would look at the rift as something to bring more players in rather than just a money grab.
I am sure they make some money on the rift passes, but that would be minor compared to how much money they could make if the rift was player friendly and actually increased their player base by 25%.
I don't think the rift as it is now is something that entices anyone new to the game, just something for the existing player base.
-
I leave it on for faster queue times. My games are still all over the board regarding the skill of players. Some matches I get destroyed, other matches they are lucky to get 2 gens done.
-
Still better than having one that survivors can't even get to (badham)
-
I think it only matters to players that are fairly new. After years of playing this game I could care less whether I pip or not.

there is a slim chance they try to help people with the tome quest to blind or lightburn the killer 5 times.
Got 4 of my 5 flashlight blinds today against an afk piggy. Made my day because I am HORRIBLE with flashlights.
-
Easiest workaround (as long as you have time) is drop them and pick them back up and hook them. Worked for me every time so far.

no, but if you have ruin, and they hear a hex totem break, but the ruin notification doesnt go away, then they kinda just know.
In that case they will know, but survivors are pretty lazy about doing bones if they don't have to. If you just run undying and NOED I wouldn't be surprised if they have to cleanse both totems at the end.
-
Is there a notification to survivors that undying is in play?
-
I have had it happen multiple games now on ps4. Seems random, 4 or so hooks will go smooth then the next one or two will give me problems.
-
Definitely a new bug. I have never had the issue before and now it seems to happen in about every other match.

Why would you care about this? They don't work well together. Noed doesn't appear on the board until the end of the game, lighting up a Dull Totem. Undying being in play just assures that people are doing Bones, all of them. The only way Undying makes a difference to Noed is IF both it and TWO dull Totems are still going at the end of the game (unlikely if people know what they are doing).
I haven't played against it yet so I wasn't sure if there is a notification that undying is in play. If there is no indication then I could see it staying active because survivors usually stick to gens and won't bother looking for totems unless they know something is in play.
-
Wait till people start pairing it with hex: undying.....
-
I hope they aren't paving the way for chucky, because this view is what i would expect his to be like...

I'd love to play him, but there's a bug that randomly prevents killers from hooking survivors. So, until that's fixed...
I had that happen last night, but it was totally random. On swamp I had 2 survivors almost get to wiggle free before finally getting the hook to register, but then it was fibre the rest of the match. What gives?
-
I miss the events. Hallowed blight with the pustulas, lunar event, and the summer bbq.
-
Is there a graphics update tomorrow as well?
-
Even if "those" players weren't using self care, you would still hate them. Bad players are bad no matter what perks they are running.
Med kits might be better, but if they run them at the wrong time it is still just as bad as self care.
-
I never understood calling people sweaty. Does it just make you feel better because you just lost to them??? Aren't they just trying to win like everyone else?

Wait so you are dissapointed that the dlc (gameplay) is cheap and the skins (you know cosmetics)are fair priced? At least compared to most games. I guess I cant really fathom what world you live in. Sounds backwards
My thoughts exactly.
DLC can actually change up gameplay while skins do nothing.
You would think that the dlc's would cost more than skins, but luckily there are A LOT of people that like to play dress up with their characters.
-
Of course it is a cash grab, just like every other skin. They aren't running a charity. They spend resources on skins and offer them for a price. Judging by how many "paid" skins i see when i play, they could probably charge even more for them.
I have yet to buy a skin, but I do spend my shards on them. Too bad this minotaur skin is auric cells only or I would jump on it, looks pretty cool.
