The hatch exists also because it's frustrating and not good design overall to be completely helpless and with no chance of winning in any situation.
Even the highest level of competitive games have "comeback mechanics".
EGC already made hatch a lot more fair. Now the killer actually has the upper hand after the third survivor dies.

So you can get slightly longer lunge as his power without control...
Great, imagine how easy it is to dodge billy's chainsaw from 5 meters away by simple 360 and I have a feeling it will be worse in here.
If a Billy is allowing you to 360 him from that distance I'm sorry but he's bad

Bottom mid-tier or may even lower.
So far, it's way worse Hag from what I saw.
Well Hag is either #3 or #4 in this game so being worse than her is something that 12 killers have in common? Not that bad I'd say
-
Think of all the killers he has to be WORSE than to be bottom tier.
You guys make an effort to be negative tbh
-
I mean, they won't ever make a killer as strong as Billy.
Freddy levels of power are the ceiling of what we can hope for, and I hope they deliver around that level.
-
Even the perks that don't look that effective in practice are good design for one specific niche or another, so I'd say they did an amazing job.
-
"Ruining other people's enjoyment"
Yeah bud, if people enjoy saying a killer is garbage before testing it like they said the new Freddy was garbage while now he's probably the best M1 killer in the game, that's the kind of enjoyment that deserves to be ruined
Not people being wholesome or starting genuine discussions tho, these are fine
-
We should do what we should already have done with the Freddy rework and start writing down names for everyone saying the killer will be ######### before they're even up for test and make a big thread of shame later

Especially since they won't be able to hear the killer TR and suffer from blindness. Unless the Demo can only put down two portals portals will be cleansed only at vital spots
Because the demo can just put em down again in like 2-4 seconds on command, repeated cleanses will add up, same reason self care is disliked
Honestly think about it. The new way they're designing maps sorta makes it easier to down survivors around loops. What they don't help with though is map pressure. So built in map pressure rises in value for killers, at least a bit.
And we don't know how the lunge will play out. If it's nowhere near as good as Freddy's power in chases we might be looking at something good here.

Wow someone who has no idea what they're talking about crying in the forums whouldathunk

It can be destroyed sure, but how long does it take? It certainly didn’t appear to be instant. It’s a survivor doing something else besides gens so it still helps him even if it gets destroyed.
People won't want to take the time it takes to do a quarter of a generator to do an action that literally notifies the killer about where you are.
-
People underestimate so much how map pressure helps you in this game.
If it takes more than 15 seconds to disarm his portals, efficient survivors most likely won't do it, at least regularly. Especially if he gets notified.

Oh he has. If the survivors wants to destroy his "traps" it will take a very long for them. Confirmed by @not_Queen
Do we have any clue if there's a limit of portals he can place?
-
As a rule of thumb, anything that has map pressure is no longer bottom tier
-
Those perks are literally better, at least on paper, than anything we've had for the past 3 chapters

People don't heal (themselves) on high ranks.
Because healing is a waste of time
If you heal without wasting time, it's no longer a waste of time
-
You guys do know that tier lists are LITERALLY based on how something plays right
Not on how you think it plays by watching 30 seconds of footage
-
No, WE MUST SAY EVERY. KILLER. IS. BOTTOM. TIER. AND. GENERALLY. BAD before they're released
Just like reworked Freddy sucks!!! Right? Right guys?
-
Literally impossible to say until we play it.
I'll never forget people complaining new Freddy was weak then kissing his burnt ass and asking iS hE BetTeR tHAn bILLy ever since he got released and people learned him
-
Climb the ranks and it will happen less.
There's still boosted players in red ranks, but not as much as in the ranks below, and if you ain't there yet, you're not as good as you think you are.
-
Wow such a refreshing and new take that has never been done before
-
Being mid tier is fine, especially with the map redesigns now.
-
No kidding though, I hope they learn a thing or two about indoor maps with this experience and use the new knowledge to rework Lery's and ESPECIALLY The Game in the future.
Those maps are overwhelmingly disliked by both sides, even if some people like them.
I personally love the IDEA of indoor maps but I think they missed the mark on execution so far.
-
That might have been able to make her more in line, but it just felt awful imo. Drained my lifeforce.

Stop crying because you refuse to get better , all I hear is I'm done adapting and need my hand held , grow up
LOL you have no idea about nothing I do or don't in this game, or what I can or can't deal with
I'm commenting from a game design standpoint, which you clearly know nothing about.
I'm not even gonna waste my time with you anymore.

It's not unwinnable, exhaustion doesn't recover while sprinting anymore and you have bamboozle to block windows off , spirit to mindgame, and nurse ignores windows , there is valid counterplay but the same people will ignore it and complain because they actually have to use their brain to play and not be a zombie pressing m1 over and over
Dude, there is counterplay. I USE THE DAMN COUNTERPLAY ALL THE TIME.
That doesn't mean it's good design, that doesn't mean it's valid or healthy gameplay, and that doesn't mean it has to stay the same.
Stop being willfully ignorant.

Of course it's a valid counterplay. There are 4 survivors on the map. Leave your ego at the door and use your brain when it comes to choose who to chase.
No chase should be unwinnable or close to it for either side.
-
I mean, we just had a killer only chapter and a killer only rework and my killer experience was miserable.
I wouldn't mind not having infinite killer queues for a while.
But I agree it would most likely be bad for business and not provide the same playerbase spike a new DLC generally provides.
-
"Don't do that chase" is not valid counterplay.
There's no excuse to have windows like that in the game still.
-

That's not how it should work, that's how Lery's works and that's the exact reason that map is unpopular with survivors.
I think it's more because many pallets in that map are COMPLETELY worthless and might as well not even be there.
-
The "companyman BAD" vibe these anti-bp posts have got old real fast.
-
I have this recurring idea for the Clown (which is the killer no one talks about even though he's not good) where we slightly nerf his bottles in chases and add a secondary power where he can drink a special tonic and gain a lot of movespeed outside a chase.
That would help his map pressure which is the single biggest weakness he has. Freddy is allowed to do just as well as him in chases if you're good while also having map pressure.
-
I mean, we're at the very least getting Bloodweb news until the end of this month, according to the devs.
I don't really care if it happens at a convention or if they just reveal it via internet.
At the very least it's very nice of them to arrange a get together between the community and team members <3
-
Again, they don't record games. If it bothers you that much, record. and. report.

I would say his blocks add-ons needs buffs, a purple add-on should not give Hemorrhage period.
Yeah but add-ons are a different story.
Base kit he needs nothing.
-
People know nothing about the logistics of monitoring matches and it shows.
They don't record games. They can't tell who's exploiting the perks or not.
Legion double blade: all you had to do was USE THE ADD-ONS. So you tell people not to use them, done.
Exhaustion perk exploits: they take a lot of extra steps to do. It's literally impossible to know who's exploiting and who isn't.
Again, if it bothers you so much, record and report. Otherwise, don't complain about something they can't properly deal with. Thank
-
Stop missing attacks you shouldn't be missing attacks
-
If you know how to use them, snares are pretty damn good as is. He doesn't need any buffs period.
EDIT: and he already has map pressure. Stop trying to overload killer kits, focus on asking for buffs for killers who aren't this good.

There is no such thing as a good survivor imo. :)
Its just running from pallet to pallet, gym to gym and mirroring killer movement if they don't break pallets.
While hoping the other 3 are on gens.
Survivor is super easy as Marth proved with depip squad.
OK, you're a troll, we're done here.

When he says good he means they don't run in a straight line and know how to play tiles. Does that mean they're actually good though? Its not hard.
When someone's good as killer it means they know where to be and how to play tiles too.
There's a lot more nuance than that, but I can spin anything to be as simplistic and innacurate as you make survivor gameplay to be. Happy?

I'n quite reasonable, but you don't really seem to be adding to the conversation beyond complaints about our complaints. If you seemingly have a better way of going about it, how might you suggest it be done better?
Also, in regards to the Legion bug, it is no different then Survivors LITERALLY being able to Sprint Burst non-stop, apparently do the same with Dead Hard, or make it so that EVERYTHING a Survivor does is 15% faster.
I'm just asking for either universal banning or disabling of broken things. I don't see how that is unbiased. To state that you don't WANT universal actions taken honestly seems the more biased route to take ^_^
They already said they won't be disabling stuff iirc. Because let's face it, they can't do ANYTHING to individual stuff in the game without messing up something else.
I think how specific or hard to pull off something is should be taken into account. After you warn people not to use an add-on combination for a specific killer because it ALWAYS bugs out it's pretty reasonable and easy to monitor. Banning the most popular perks in the game that you need to do extra steps to exploit (it's not just equip and boom, it's bugged) is a whole different beast. In a perfect world it would be easy to monitor and punish, but the only way to do it is by recording and reporting. If it bothers you that much, record your matches because they have no way of checking who's exploiting and who isn't.
It's completely different from the Wake Up and Thanato buffs which I think should have been handled with by the Double Blade treatment. Since they were automatically bugged and not that popular otherwise the devs should have warned and punished the same way they did with the Legion add-ons and that was a mess-up from their part imo.

The best killers not 4k ing every match is an issue. If you're that good you shouldn't lose. Like Zubat/Scott you should never EVER see someone escape.
Survivor individual skill should matter too. I'm not sure if you're just a troll or simply that wrong.
Even on stream you see Scott acknowledging it when he goes against good survivors. "This is a good team, it's gonna be hard" right on the lobby. Because he knows he shouldn't win for free just because he's good.

If it was challenging the teabagging/flashlight clicking wouldn't be a thing 🤷♀️
People are too comfortable around killers at the moment i think. Shows there is plenty of time to waste and its a casual stomp on their side.
LOL because it's so BAD and EVIL when someone mashes a button against you.
Dude, clearly it's impossible to discuss this seriously with you after this post.
-
Let's compare a bug that makes survivors eventually M1 for literal minutes to... anything else. Sure. That makes yall look really serious, unbiased and reasonable.

You clearly didn't read everything i had to say if you think only the killer would have fun.
It would be a challenge to overcome and more rewarding because escape wouldn't be easy. It'd be that omg that was so fun i did it like in dark souls or F13.
All would have more fun
An average of 2 kills doesn't mean escaping is easy. It just means there's an equal chance of escaping or dying. Which should be the case.
This isn't a horror movie. This is an action game with a few horror aspects. People still want a fair chance to survive. Surviving is still challenging when there's a 50% escape rate.
EDIT: besides, why should anyone but killer have a challenging experience?
-
I can't feel something between 2 and 3 being -ok- simply because PERSONALLY I feel it's more fun to play well and still die as survivor than to get roflstomped as killer. But that's something that people who play more survivor than killer should also get a say in.
-
@BBQnDemogorgon said:
@gantes So you don't think its fun to have ad advantage and win because you're playing a strong spooky character?
Did you ever try F13 the game before the lawsuits killed it? Jason was a great example of a power role it was rare and rewarding to escape because he could basically do the equivalent of a spirit phase walk into an insta myers tombstone mori.
You got an adrenaline rush getting close to escape because he was a scary auto kill machine.
Your fun isn't the only important thing pal
-
I feel like
- vault speeds could come back
- make feral frenzy cover the same distance it does now, but with higher speed at the cost of duration. That way it feels better to use and duration add-ons become more impactful
- the pin add-ons should have never been released on their current iteration so that's a no-brainer
And see how they perform with that.
It's absolutely crucial that none of the bad aspects of old Legion come back.
-
But seriously though people who have those fantasies of power with the killer role and play it because it's the "power role" and get mad when people suggest otherwise scare me on a psychological level.
Like, maybe there's something wrong with you on some level?
