My win condition is fun, for both survivor/killer.
As survivor I will happily give a kill to a new nurse etc.
As killer if I think your a new survivor I will give you exit gates/hatch. Unless you BM in which case you die.
I don't care about BP/Rank etc.

you're right, I didn't take that into consideration. I knew I was doing something wrong!!!! Dammit!!
At least you understand now, there are still some killers that don't!
Your downing me a third time instead of escorting me to the exit gates/hatch?! That's a DC and a report.

Downing a survivor for the THIRD TIME?!!
That is toxic and against the survivor rule book, I'm not surprised they DC'd...
I think you need to revisit the survivor rule book, specifically page 438.

Ikr. If I was evil I could abuse this. The new survivor gets higher rank in in tern I get lower rank ;) But I'm now that evil yet...

It's a concern of mine and I think a lot of people aren't understanding the potential issue with SBMM.
Somebody's mechanical skill can carry them high enough in MMR that they get very sweaty opponents despite they themselves not wanting to play that way. Perks are extremely impactful and I would wager MMR does not have a way to account for load outs.
Most of my friends are absolutely miserable since MMR has been turned on. You can be casual and be a great player. That will constantly match you with players you simply don't want to play against when you're just trying to relax in the evening. They're winning at the same rate, but a couple of my friends got Stridor Spirits 8 out of 10 games. Who is that fun for?
A friend of mine played 30 games. The only killers she saw were Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Twins, Oni. 30 games. 5 killers. High MMR is miserable unless you actually want to sweat every game. If you're a great but casual player? Oh well. Load up a different game.
I agree, If I were to as survivor bring DS/UB/SG every game chase the killer for 5 gen+ and then get one hooked by the killer I would in SBMM terms die, which would mean I would get placed with weaker killers.
Then the cycle continues, in a 1vs4 game this is easily manipulated.
I can "bully" the killer for 5 gens but as least he kills me my SBMM ranks me lower.

Yes I'm noticing that with this MMR test when I play killer I'm getting either sweaty survivors, or just brown ranks survivors with no experience. Or when I'm playing survivor I'm getting sweaty killers, or killers that get 1 or 2 downs and end up losing. There is no in between.
Same! There is just no middle ground anymore, there are no longer rank purple/green opponents only red/brown.
Please let me not be the only one.

I don't think one merciful match is going to throw anyone into the sweat pool. more than likely SBM is a continual averaging of match results. BHVR hasn't released the information on how it works, but we can safely assume that a statistical anomaly here and there isn't going to drastically shift anyone's skill rating
I hear you, however from personal experience (region may vary) if I play bad against a sweat match I get put into the shallow end. After I get killed in the red rank sweat pit I get put against a brown rank AFK wraith (my teammates were purple/red).

For the record I am green rank (yes rank means nothing), but I face either rank 1 or rank 20 where are the purple/green?
Are you extinct?

@OldHunterLight said:
So you see, if you say that you are a casual player, then you can still be nice and stuff, your MMR will probably stay very normal not the best but not the worst, the problem lies in people that do want to win no matter what.
So probably when you play as survivor you will see killers that have competitive builds every now and then by that I mean stuff like ruin and pop on every killer with decent addons to great addons.
But if you are nice when you play killer you will probably make that survivor you just let live have harder matches and will probably get destroyed.
Basically unless you care about being the best you can play normally just like you do now, but if you wanna be the best you will have to try every match on both sides.
I understand that, right now I played a match vs Bubba who was very competitive (4K rank 1). For the record I am rank 12 (took a couple month break).
My issue is I want everyone to have an enjoyable game, hell I even use BPS as solo survivor if I suspect the killer has a hard time.
Also just had a match against an AFK wraith, flashlight blind and escaped via hatch. Matchmaking right now is either vs very good opposition or very bad opposition there is no middle ground...
-
I face more Bubbas than Billies :( Where are you Billy?!
-
I came across a lot of this when I was a noob killer. 4 man rank 19 squad with meta loadout, flashlights etc, and of course their profile is always private.
The nasty ones finish all the gens and purposely leave both gates at 99%, then they charge you with their flashlights, head on, DS, DH, UB.
Most annoying experience ever but it did teach me how to mind game better, when not to pick up slugged survivors etc. One time is was so stressful that I slugged all four of them hooked 3 and watched the last one bleed out.
I feel sorry for the new killers that have to deal with that. I now have a hatred towards P3 Claudette/Present Dwight lol.

Thats what i mean. Maybe the License agreement had some pretty strict rules and they wanted to test the water with a unlicensed chapter.
If they based it on the movies (I forgot which one), it's possible it could be a gatling gun.
Personally I don' like the idea of Trickster 2.0. Also his rocket launcher is too iconic ๐จ
At least give him the rocket launcher lol.

Maybe the new killer will be Nemesis with a gatling gun.

Why have just 1 insidious basement camping bubba when you can have 2! ๐
Basements gonna need more hooks!

Funny you should say that matchmaking is either too easy or too hard. I either get 4 kills or no kills. This gives me the BHVR target average 2 kills per game so from their perspective matchmaking is pefect.
I played 40 games during the MMR (all as the same 2 killers) and lost 37 of them. MMR didn't adjust to my performance.
With killer at night I'd probably get one chill game after 6/7 sweaty ones.
I just hope one day I'll have an evenly matched game where 2 die and 2 escape, we say ggs at the end and we all go on our merry ways. ๐คฉI can only dream.

I seem to be opposite. I get yellow\green\purple teams and rank 1 killers every game while only getting sweat teams as killer.
I believe mmr is on right now to be honest.
If MMR is on the game must think I'm a god tier killer (I'm not), from the survivors I pull. ๐
Facing keys/toolboxes with OoO against trickster is so fun.
-
Matchmaking right now is either too easy or too hard.
Even as a solo survivor I mostly pull green/brown rank killers, games are boring I literally have to run at the killer to get him to notice and chase me.
As killer the survivors are so optimized the games end quickly.
I tried playing during the MMR test, as survivor it put me with reds against a green rank killer, so I'm not too optimistic. Maybe like now if there are not enough killers it just matches you with anyone?

They get excited over like the most basic plays it's really entertaining.

Tbf, I was making the assumption that they'd get full teams (SWFs) of their viewers where possible.
Definitely ruins the fun if solos get stuck with it, I agree. At which point, it should be dealt with.
Sometimes they get sniped by a 4 man, though most of the time there is always 1 or 2 randoms.

Farming and working with killer are treated as two separate instances.
Farming is a mostly consensual act that requires both the killer and survivor(s) to works together to maximize the possible amount of blood points, completed challenges/dailyโs, and other miscellaneous objectives in one match. Of which, in most cases, any survivor that wishes to not farm is able to rush generators and leaves, coff themselves on hook, or disconnect.
Working with the killer is much more malicious and usually comes with the condition of the killer and (a) fellow survivor(s) targeting a specific player. It is not made with the intention or goal of gaining something and more towards removing/ trolling a survivor. Most common examples are: repeatedly revealing the location of a survivor to the killer to be chased, sand baging the survivor mid-chase or when on hooking, and unsafely unhooking said survivor so that killer may hook them again (farming the hooked survivor). As such, the only way to leave is to either disconnect or die. In these situations, it can be similar to farming if reason for the action was refusal to farm or they begin farming afterwards/while it is in the process of happening.
Honestly, I would consider what she is doing to be working with the killer since they only target randoms and specific attempt to remove them from the game with the help of the killer. Along with planning said action with the killer, too.
Farming only occurs when the random is taken out, all the stream sniping survivor needs to do is run something like bond, got to the streamer and just point to the randoms direction.
The random most of the time doesn't notice they are being revealed hence they rarely DC.
-
@Adeloo said:
Well the best would be to record when they play survivor, if they really sandbag the solo survivor on purpose everytime, you can just send that to the devs, since sandbagging by working with the killer is a bannable offence.
Would I need to get in a match with them in order to that?

They do ruin the experience for any randoms they get paired with.

I'm tired of people abusing broken mechanics BHVR can't/won't fix or address.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100578#Comment_2100578
Don't compare them to The Trickster, seriously? You're comparing a ranged killer to 2 stealth killers. Myers needs a buff, since you can kite him around and wipe out his power -completely-. Ghostface has no limit to how often he can use his power.
Don't change Tricky's movement speed, he's ranged. I feel like most people suggesting these type of things don't understand that would put him at a huge advantage. Clown cant down you from range. He needs his speed right above survivors run speed, which is where its at.
in b4 someone asks for Iri Heads on Trickster. I don't feel like any of you actually care about balance and think you need to 4k every game lol
His perks also need some major work:
Crowd Control is probably one of the weakest perks in the game. I barely ever find myself doubling back on a pallet, and most survivors who have more than 300h of play time are going to vault multiple windows before doubling around. Or they're going to abuse double T/Z walls
No Way Out is a flat 8 seconds. 4 Tokens should be 32 seconds(8 for each token) but no. The perk is busted everytime ive used it and everytime ive had the killer use it. You'd think this would have been fixed by now.
Starstruck should not be tagging people in lockers. And if I can see someone with BBQ, Starstruck shouldn't tag them either. Its beyond range.
Pallet bug is also still a thing. Its not a whole lot of fun to play survivor or killer right now outside of doing Tombs and straight up memes.
It's better they buffed his power rather than his movement speed, if they made him 115% he'd just be another m1 killer.
I care about balance and no I don't care if I 0K or 4K, it's just everytime I play against Trickster I know I will win and I do lol. Stay away from loops with low ways and just shift w, if your teammates are competent the gens will be done after one chase.
I agree with his perks, they're awful.

Which explains his perk Star Struck! Survivors are just so in awe with his fabulousness, they can't move.

Well, the next buff for him is going to make Laceration Decay activation take longer (from 15 to 20 seconds), though I personally am not even sure if Laceration decay needs to be a thing unless the Survivor is healed. It would be like Ghostface or Myers losing stalk simply because they stopped stalking.
Laceration decay should only be automatic when the survivor is not running IMO, that would justify the Trickster's 110% speed.
-
@StibbityStabbity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100562#Comment_2100562
Well, considering they'd be used for trick shots (and his name is Trickster so why wasn't this part of his design already?) I don't think the ammo count would be that big of a deal. I'd IMAGINE at most they'd do double Laceration at their longest, which is 2 charges of Laceration. If the base amount of Lacerations was reduced to 6, it would be 3 charges. There's a math to it, but long story short, dropping the required hits from 8 to 6 would make every hit worth 1.5 charges instead of 1. So doubling that would make a trick shot basically 3 charges.
It's also worth pointing out that Trickster already HAS a scoring event for hitting a long ranged shot, which is any shot past 16 meters. So the game ALREADY detects shots from a set distance and gives a bonus score for them. Applying extra damage wouldn't be that hard, as they already have an event connected to distance.
I didn't know he had a scoring event for long range shots (never tried it).
But the damage from the knives heals so fast even if you doubled it would it be worth it?
If it took longer to recover from the knives then yes, 8 knives with double at distance may be viable.
At the moment I only use them at loops with low walls, which I feel is a waste :(
-
@StibbityStabbity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100546#Comment_2100546
The most common suggestions are dropping the needed hits from 8 to 6 (though some argue 5 or even 4, but I feel that would be a bit too strong sometimes) and making knives ricochet once as basekit to add more identity to the character. Less common, but I feel are good, are suggestions that using a single knife throw instead of a flurry should reward bonus Laceration charges based on distance, as it's a skill shot.
I would say make ricochet basekit, and reduce the needed knives to injure to 6.
I agree with the single knife throw, the flurry accuracy is so random that when I do throw the knives it's always single. Spam them and you will need to reload very fast :/
If single knife was implemented maybe make the max you can carry be 40/50.
-
With Trickster you're not playing for kills. You're playing to be fabulous!

@StibbityStabbity said:
The devs have mostly determined that ranged Killers move at 110% as a balancing mechanic. Since they are a threat from a distance, they move slower. Plague is an exception on account of how her projectile works, as they arc and require a bit more finesse. It's pretty standard video game logic. The issue is that Trickster isn't really capable of doing that much damage quick enough to make the normal slow speed feel warranted. They either need to make his power stronger to warrant the slower movement speed (this would be my personal preference) or speed him up while making sure his power doesn't become overbearing.
I understand that Trickster is ranged, but his range attack is so weak it's faster to go for the M1.
I agree I don't want Trickster to be 115%, as he would just become another m1 killer.
At the very least his knives should make the survivor "mend" making him Legion 2.0, or reduce the number needed to injure/down.
-
@NomiNomad said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2100510#Comment_2100510
Like I said, there's a lot of testing and reasoning behind it (probably.)
For Clown, he can't injure with his power. He only relies on M1's. Making him 110% would severely hurt him, it'd be like making Wraith 110%. Pyramid Head's ranged attack is severely limited (and he's also 110% while using it, so there's that.)
Trickster, especially with his upcoming buff, has a much larger range in which he can hit. And unlike Pyramid Head, he pretty much has no penalty for missing his attack.
I'm curious to know how much testing goes into a new killer :/
IMO giving Trickster a larger range means nothing if the damage caused by the knives disappears after a short time...
If the damage didn't disappear so fast I would consider the large range a slight buff, but if not I'm just gonna rely on m1.
I'm not saying make Clown 110%, it just baffles me that Trickster is much weaker than the Clown yet the Clown is at 115%.
