He is strong in the 1v1 because of his 115 move speed
if the clown is playing loops effectively he’ll be 125% move speed while the survivors will be 85%. A move speed nerf would hurt he a lot since he relies on getting close
I agree with you, Clown is strong in 1v1 but has little map pressure.
Trickster on the other hand has a weak 1v1 and little map pressure, I can't play Trickster without multiple gen regression perks.
I'd prefer both of them to have 115% movement speed.
-
For solo queue Kindred is a must IMO.

Lore doesn't really have a lot to do with how fast they are. Demogorgon is a gigantic monster that could probably move faster than an edgy teenager with a knife.
There's probably a lot of testing that goes into testing out a killers movement speed. I remember seeing a post asking why Pyramid Head didn't move at 110%, and it's likely because they deemed that would make him too weak. Same with Plague.
I guess they decided that making Trickster 115% would make him too strong. Which seems doubtful, but hey, what do I know.
Pyramid Head I can understand, he has strong anti loop, Trickster doesn't which I find very odd. :/

Funnily enough clowns entire power is about outrunning the survivors by slowing down survivors and speeding himself up
Making him 110 would hurt him a lot
More understandable if Trickster was 115% and clown was 110%.
Clown's 1v1 is extremely strong in the right hands.
-
@grayon444 said:
its because Trickster can damage survivors from a long distance and Clown can't.
Yes a also find it odd.
Yes if the survivor is in a dead zone of looping a pallet with a low wall, other than that it's faster just to M1 one lol.

The obvious fix to this would be giving Clown a rolling animation
This seriously needs to be implemented as a Clown BUFF!!

Now that is scary!

What I love about Empathy is the huge range at which you are able to see where survivors (most likely those being chased are) then you can work on a gen opposite from that, and if they stop to heal or something, then you know Michael is no longer on them and has switched. In a map like The Game (which is very small) you are guaranteed to be able to see auras map-wide. Unlike bond which has a 32 meter range.
Also, it’s main purpose is to spot the injured so you are able to also heal them if need be, which against a SM Michael it becomes crucial to be able to stay healthy and take a hit.
Thanks I've very rarely used Empathy, I'll give it a try!

"I don't know why you would ever want to counter it though; it's probably one of the few rare enjoyable things to happen in DBD."
I agree, as long as the Myers is not just camping. Sadly a good bunch of them are doing it like "I have 0 TR, so I camp". It is not enjoyable by default, Mirror Myers can be very fun to go against, but depends how they are playing.
@Topic:
You need to be aware. This is the first thing, need to be aware were he might be. Also, listen, Myers is breathing very loud, so you might even hear him.
What is important is, when he hits you, get as much distance as possible. Mirror-Myers is super-slow (4,2 m/s, just 5% faster than Survivors) so you can basically loop him around every Pallet, because he has a short lunge as well. Like, some Pallets which are weak can become a problem for Mirror-Myers.
Being aware and keeping in mind that he is loopable are also two things when it comes to healing - dont heal in some Corner, heal somewhere where a Pallet is nearby and where you have a good view in every direciton. E.g. on Midwich, you can be in those long Rooms where a Pallet is in the center, if you are able to see both doors, it should be fine to heal. But if you heal somewhere without any Pallets nearby or when you cannot see in certain directions, he might just pop up from there and get you.
Thanks for the advice!
The Myers wasn't camping, just for context the killer was rank 1 and I was rank 8 (my teammates were 1 green rank and 2 brown, gotta love that Matchmaking)
I usually always heal near pallets regardless of the killer, if I meet this build again I'll be sure to keep a not of pallet locations or just run WoO.

As a Myers main, I would say keep running. Many people like to stop to get a quick scan of his potential location, giving him an easy hit.
If you’re working on a gen try to position yourself where you have a view of almost or all angles. I know this one is tricky, but if you prioritize based on when you aren’t being chased, always attempt to do those gens where he could get an easy grab first.
A very good perk I would recommend is Empathy, so you base your moves around when someone else is being chased.
Thanks!
I did consider the best position when I was doing gens, the person playing Myers only tried to go for you if you were on a gen, he stopped chase instantly as soon as I ran.
Most of the time he just waited for the survivors to come for him. Only when they were crouching/hiding did he actively go to them.
I was using bond which did slightly help, but I'll give Empathy a go!

Actually, scratched mirror has a massive, massive counter: game sense.
Once you've played a little as/against scratched mirror, you'll know what he's going to do next. You'll know where he's likely hiding, how far he can go, what angles he'll take to stay out of sight, etc. I never really find I have a problem with him, though apparently my teammates always do.
Thanks!
First time so yes I do lack experience against this, gonna try it myself to get a sense of it and it does seem like fun.
My teammates were so scared they either crouched walked or tried to hide :/

Scratched mirror Myers definetely has counters.
The most important one is to be really careful of your positioning.
Always try to position yourself in a way that let you see him before he can get to you.
Also, his breathing is VERY noticeable if you pay attention.
Myers is reliant on getting these jump scared to get his kills because he can't really chase you with that super slow movement speed
Thanks for the tips!
The Myers player would go to where I was heading, wait for me to come to him then BOO!
Too freaked out to notice the audio cues, but I'll take it into account the next time I meet him.
His speed was probably the reason he actively didn't chase me, he made me go to him.

I mean....a map offering or ward will do it; but other than that spine chill is about it.
Jump Scare myers is actually kinda strong on certain indoor maps; it's absolute hot garbage on any other map.
I don't know why you would ever want to counter it though; it's probably one of the few rare enjoyable things to happen in DBD.
I guess your right it is a unique experience xD
I was just spooked as I turn a corner and his just there staring menacingly.
Definitely wanna try this build as killer.

@Kira4Evr said:
No not really. Scratched mirror Myers on an indoor map(Exept "The Game") does not really have a counter exept Spine Chill and maybe blood Pact.
Thanks, I guess spine chill is the only way.
Guess it's best to expect the jump scares if the killer offers an indoor map and isn't doctor lol.
Defo wanna try this build as killer xD

I'll agree if they are spamming the flashlight clicky clicky, but I sometimes try and get a blind on the killer at the exit games. It's not to BM, I just want the boldness points, especially if I rarely interacted with the killer.
If you have problems with purple circling around just wait until they've stopped doing their moves and hit them.
There is a massive wall for killer once you hit green ranks, you will come across multiple red ranks. Yes it's not fair but a lot of these red rank survivors are not legit, some of them play like a rank 18.
If you can't continue to play killer than maybe wait for the future SBM?
Matchmaking also sucks as survivor I'm purple rank and I'm going against green/brown killers, lot of the times they don't even get one hook :/

I am playing with both roles. Killer mode can be hard sometimes (against really good survivors or SWF) but solo surv is hard most of times. I am playing this game for years. Solo surv exp lives worst days ever.
Yep, Solo Survivor is the hardest mode. Not to mention the wait times are bad..
I can't count the amount of times I've been left to die on first hook while the others urban evade around the map, or when a teammate tries to unhook whilst the killer is following...
With killer I go against really good survivors, it's like why can't I have these teammates. xD

Yeah solo survivor is the hardest game mode lol, I'm never optimistic when playing survivor.
Teammates usually leave you to die on first hook while they hide in the corner of the map, or unhook you with the killer following them.. I wouldn't mind if the queue times were fast, but it takes ages to get into the next match 😓
When playing killer you go against so optimized survivors, I wish my solo teammates were like them 😅
-
I only play solo survivor, it's a mixed bag you either get potatoes or people who sort of know what they're doing.
If the killer is red rank it's GG (I'm only a green rank).
Sometimes tempted to lobby dodge if the other survivors are Claudette/Blendette, once met a rank 4 Blendette with 2K hours that played like a rank 20. 🙄(no offence to Claudette mains)

That would be worth watching. "Oh my god, there's a KILLER in this game?! How I'm I supposed to fix these generators when someone tries to kill me"
How DARE the killer try and get me off the generator I'm working on!!!!! *Proceeds to write another thread on killer is OP*
In serious it baffles me how they made it to red rank... 🙄
-
I seriously want Sluzzy to live stream.
-
Prove Thyself(or Dead Head) / Windows Of Opportunity / Bond / Kindred
(solo survivor)
-
It may also be due to a shortage of killers?
So when playing killer there is a high chance you get survivors who are generally better than you and are more aggressive. When I play killer at night the survivors tend to have over 1K hours.
When playing survivor you will generally get placed to people "closer" to you, I usually get people who have played 100-1K hours.
Another factor is solo queue is completely random, I've had team mates who would body block for you/flashlight save etc. And I have team mates that hide in a bush as soon as they hear the heartbeat. Due to the randomness of solo, some survivors won't bother risking it for you as it might end up in them getting killed, sucks but that's solo queue for you :)
-
Yep, as killer if you don't use a good killer with good perks and addons you are likely to fail.
Probably the reason I gave up going for the 4K and just started playing for fun, I don't care anymore if I rank up/down, it's made the game bearable for me and because of that less stress.
Game balance would be very hard for a game like this, yes you could balance on terms of the top% or SWF but in doing so you screw up solo queue. On the opposite side if you balance for solo queue, SWF can exploit those advantages + more etc.
-
Claudette because I have a hard time seeing them.
After that comes elodie, forgive me for the hook smack, but your banshee shriek deafens me..

>How many games have you played on both?
After the new MMR, I played about 10 survivor and about 7 killer, I don't have too much time everyday. The games were all pretty much the same. Before the new MMR? Countless (I assume the new MMR was always running in the background)
>I've played against a full squad of red rank survivors before the mmr system was even mentioned despite the fact that I was a yellow rank killer back then.
I feel your pain, but at least you managed to kill them all lol, my results are pretty different x(
>Not to rain on your parade or anything but I wouldn't be surprised if it thought that those red ranks were really only as good as a rank 16.
I get your point but does the new system really think I'm a red rank? I'd say I'm high green at best :/
>Play more matches in a day and you'll see it go up.
Thing is I actually don't want to rank up lol
-
I understand man, one of my first games I got fed up and slugged them all to death.
Without the right perks killer is at a major disadvantage, you either have to put up or shut up..
-
Thanks guys. I guess I will just aim for the black pip lol..
-
Not all of us are smurfs or trying to play the system.
I moved from switch to PC, I was a red rank survivor on the switch but I'm currently a brown rank on PC.
I do understand where your friend is coming from when I first played killer on the switch I met a lot of players who were obviously using sub accounts (very easy to create on console), they had about 20 hours played but they knew how to loop, had flashlights etc and didn't care at all about escaping.
One experience is that they would swarm me, let me down one of them and then try to get a flashlight save. I have watched streamers so I knew exactly what they were trying to do, I admit I got irritated so I killed 3 of them and made one of them bleed out, closing the hatch in front of them.
On PC my experience has been a mixed bag the killer is sometimes a brown rank with 2K hours with a meta build, yes they may be a survivor main but they almost always get a 4K. If I suspect the killer is actually a newbie i.e misses easy hits, doesn't break god/safe pallets, can't mind game and doesn't get one hook/kill the entire game I will usually let them kill me.
Personally I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone I know, which is a shame.

I don't think ptb bothers with matchmaking.
Really? 😳I didn't know that. But even with PTB turned off I still get matched with a variety of ranks...
I can only play the game at night though.
-
Certainly seems that way, I'm a newb PC player but I'm a purple rank on switch.
When playing switch I get matched up with my own rank, but on PC PTB I get matched with 2 rank 5s and a rank 1.... (I'm only rank 18 on PC), the killer was a green rank trickster. Needless to say he got curb-stomped hard (only managed to get one hook).
After waiting 30 minutes to play killer (rank 19), I get matched with 1 green, 1 purple, 2 red...
Needless to say not a fun match for either side. Matches end so quick it's hard to get BP.
-
New Killer: Mr X
Chase Music: X Gonna Giv It To Ya
I would play killer so much more if this happened.
-
I like the idea, but I'd probably end up dying every match due to admiring what the killer did with the place, then having the killer come down to "greet" me
-
I can understand that there is an insufficient numbers of red killers playing, even more so at night when you often get matched with SWFs with over 2K hours. 😅
I would be very happy to wait more if the system gives me an even match, even if it's +5/-5 of your current rank.
I've also experienced the same from survivor side my teammates are green/yellow and the killer is a red rank, after that the next match is what I usually get paired up with a green rank killer. 🤔
Another issue I would like fixed is the SWF that purposely brings in a yellow rank so they can go against newbies. It should give them a killer based on the higher ranked survivor.
-
Thanks, I definitely don't think I'd be able to handle multiple games at red rank 😅
I understand getting camped by the killer for the 1K, we've all been there! I don't find camping fun so I don't do it unless I see another survivor close by.
-
Thanks I'll try slugging some more to keep up the pressure.
you will be suprised how decent hearing skills can help.
I know I can never find the blendettes without listening lol.
A small tip low mobility corrupt, high mpbility ruin. If you have hex undying that can make ruin even better.
Noted! I don't have undying yet, I usually play low mobility so I'm waiting for corrupt to pop up in the BW.
I highly advise sticking to high mobility killers since they will give you the most experiance. Billy, spirit, freddy immediatly comes to mind.
I do like Hillbilly's one hit down, might give him a go again
Next rule never ever let your ego trap you in a bad chase. If someones teabagging after looping you for a bit nod and move on to a different target.
I rarely chase for longer than necessary, also used to the BMing although I admit if I catch them off guard 😏
If you name a killer I can start pointing you to optimum builds and advice for how to play since most killers have there own list of do's and don'ts
I try to play with all the killers but I mostly like playing the stealth killers (Ghostface, Myers, Pig)
-
You can abuse spinechill by approaching the gen with your camera on an angel if you suspect they have it. As for getting passed green, I'm not sure what to tell you. It'd help if we knew what part of the game you're struggling with. Is it looping, gen protection, finding people?
I would say my weakest part is gen protection without any gen regression perks and all the survivors being decent it's GG, I'm not bad at finding people unless it's P3 blendette 🤨
Your best bet there is to snowball very hard, very early, and keep the pressure up
Thanks I'll try slugging some more
Play infectious fright nurse and slug.
I'm probably the weakest nurse in this game 😥
My advice though is to just take it slow, learn the game, and not worry about ranking up.
Thanks your right. I would probably wait for rank reset if I hit purple
-
@katoptris said:
Survivors varied from each other. There the looper, altruistic, beginner and the objective type. If you see someone good at looping don't chase them. Go after the weakest link and be sure to keep at the pressure. It also depends on your go to killer. You're gonna need to do a bunch of slugging to keep them occupied to win against tryhards. Why do you wanna reach red ranks ? It filled with people being entitled and complainers.
Thanks, I usually stop chasing after a minute or I hear a nearby gen being worked on.
I prefer playing stealth killers but spine chill renders them useless :(
My main problem is I rarely do slug I always have the urge to hook them after I down them.
I actually don't want to become a red rank killer (too stressful), however I seem to face the same survivors as a red rank killer would. 😅
-
Thanks guys! :)
-
Thanks Antares :) Even with the overheating mechanic, would you still recommend him more than legion?
-
Thanks! What do you mean by "it hadn't been changed"?
