why should I hook the other survivor and risk the survivor still sanding getting hatch?

Because you're wasting everyone's time (including yours) for something not worth in any way possible

The bloodpoint gained vs the time wasted is null, better off starting a new game, and mmr for how laughable it is isn't affected by hatch escapes. But hey you got a 4k instead of a 3k + hatch, here's a star ⭐️

  • What addons were you using? Against any team with half a brain, not running double purple (shadow dance + swift hunt) wraith is basically unplayable. Any other addon is basically meme level

But then again, you were also running info perks, which are kinda useless on wraith...

Because no matter how much of a crutch Made for This is, it doesn't stand against a player with sufficient gamesense. Don't get me wrong, the endurance should be transplanted onto a different perk, but the speed isn't as uncounterable as people make it out to be.

I didn't realize I still left my Anniversary meme build on Nemmy for the daily, and with Deadlock as my sole slowdown, I could still take on 3 MfTs. (No early kills either, seeing the lowest BP Survivor getting 17k.)

Guy posts a screenshot of random public match where he killed 4 random people while they were using mft. It's settled guys, mft is fine, sorry

  • inb4 "mft is fine" people

I actually hadn't seen the followup comment in this thread. Mft is stupidly broken, but op's thread is not the reason, that's just skill issue

  • Object of obsession got nerfed :( was pretty useful to track the killer

  • Does it matter when all you need to do is zone a survivor to a loop and drop any guard, just to run it the opposite way to get your easy hit/down?

  • It's not op, just annoying and once you know it's in play you just don't cleanse totems.

It's only really oppressive in soloqueue, where your random team mate decides to throw the game by cleansing totems, twice. But what isn't oppressive in soloqueue?

Solution: find a swf where people don't throw the game

  • I'd rather have these kind of challenges than boring repetitive ones. At least these can be actually deemed as somewhat challenging?

  • Most fun and interactive killer in the game!! The game was so designed to be chased by 2 entities at the same time. Guess I shouldn't have *zoned myself* 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻 the skillful and engaging gameplay of having an npc chase for you, so well designed. Please more killers like this!!

  • It's a stupidly strong perk

Just like mft, why did you give it a second effect on top of an already strong main effect? Can you people just stop with this?

    False

what made billy good was the reward for leaning how to play him allowed for fun gameplay for both sides

The fun and rewarding gameplay for both sides: billy trying to curve one tile for 5 minutes straight while any survivor with anything above a room temperature iq can dodge it, throwing the whole game and giving literally zero killer-survivor interaction and ending the game with at most 1k 3 stages. The survivor will proceed to get angry if the billy eventually gets annoyed of not being able to chainsaw at a TL wall and M1s instead (nyoooo how could you damn m1lly :angery: )

Truth is billy is one of the worst killers in the game, the only reason he's "fun" to go against is because he's one of the easiest killers whom to give a map tour if you're barely decent at survivor, and he really needs some good and targeted buffs (which won't happen)

  • @mecca said:

But it is perfectly OK for survivors to have no agency. (ie. camping, bleeding out, tunneling)

All survivor strategies have been completely removed. (ie. stealth, looping, ......)

Killers can handle a very small pat on the hand now after survivors have taken a dragged out beating.

? On what world stealth and looping have been removed?

  • Vaults are entirely bugged. Both female and male fast vaults are basically medium vaults. However, male vaults bring the survivor slightly further away than females (but the vault is still bugged nonetheless)

Jolt was literally released causing survivors to scream. It going away without even a note on a patchnote about it being a bugfix or a balance change and no other word from BHVR means that it likely was intended to always cause survivors to scream from the start.

I know this, because I used Jolt (Surge at the time) on Ghostface as a substitute to Infectious Fright due to causing survivors to scream on gens.

This is simply not a bug as it's never been stated as such.

I'm not talking about jolt, I was referring to your second part of the message (since PR is applied to deadlocked gens too, which happened in the past and was already fixed at least one )

  • @Crowman said:

When jolt was released, it caused survivors on gens to scream. At some point early on it was removed and never stated in the patch notes. As far as I'm concerned, it's a longstanding bug that was finally fixed as the devs have yet to state whether jolt is intended to cause survivors scream or not.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Dev within the last month state that blocked gens are meant to still take damage from instant effects, they are just immune to regression.

The person who said that was just wrong and disproven by literally everyone who commented right after them, with screenshots of various patch notes implying quite the opposite of what that person stated (this bug had happened in the past and was fixed once or twice already)

It would've been nice to see a "I was wrong" message, but hey, it's bhvr employees we're talking about

Personal opinion but this bug is stupidly strong and there's no way it is intended that two of the strongest slowdowns synergize in this way

  • No, we are trying to remove stupidly broken effects that should've never made out of the brainstorming room

  • I just hope they will remove the stupid movement speed buff based on the number of active clawtraps. That + those two purple addons just made her the most obnoxious 'I just hold w' killer, and Chase Merchant was equally unhealthy for the game

  • Are you surprised?

  • @Pulsar said:

Remove Endurance and have it cause Exhaustion.

    That's all it needs.

Remove Speed Boost and have it cause Exhaustion.

    That's all it needs.

  • Just a reminder to bhvr that 3-gen merchant isn't the only problem and they need to address her stupid chase merchant mechanics too

She's literally the "zero skill just hold w" killer version

You people really couldn't fail harder with this killer

  • Glad to see I'm not the only one jumping in the conspiracy theory wagon for this one. Only happens when I'm winning, usually when chasing or about to kill someone who's on death hook, and don't recall ever happening when I'm playing survivor

I loved the message from Friskk in the DBD-Stream yesterday.

"Accept that when the survivors just do their job by holding M1 on diffent gens while pre-dropping safe loops you dont have the power to 4K with most of the roster. Accept, that you 4K when the survivors do mistakes, not because you played well".

Kinda tired of this rhetoric that seems to imply there's literally zero skill involved in playing survivor meanwhile playing killer is the ultimate skill expression only truly high IQ people can master (they ask you to win a killer game when evaluating whether you're suitable to be a member of Mensa)

They both require a good set of skills, especially at higher level, and when people make comments like yours somehow I tend to assume they're not really that expert at the game, on either roles

  • I wouldn't mind if rework = complete removal from the game and pretend her chapter never happened

I don't lobbyshop to look for baby teams, those games are miserable for everyone involved. However, if I end up against multiple high prestige survivors or multiple TTVs who are obviously SWFing, then I'm gonna dodge.

Yes, high prestige doesn't -always- mean the survivors are amazing but most of the time it does, and the times when I -don't- lobby dodge and decide to play the game, it's almost always miserable and kills my drive to continue playing.

I'd completely understand if they removed lobby shopping, but as long as it's an option, for my own mental health I'm gonna do it, and it's clear -many- other killer players do the same.

Again, the bigger issue that needs fixing is backfilling ignoring MMR, that shouldn't be a thing.

"I don't lobby dodge to get easy games. However, I lobby dodge to get easy games"

  • It would be really nice for BHVR to at least acknowledge the issue if they don't plan to use their killswitch yet again. Maybe a message on their social media, considering it's a Monday and they should be back in their offices <3

  • I assume nemesis can hit through the lcoker with his lingering hitbox?

  • Nurse, lethal pursuer, infectious fright, ultimate weapon, knight's hex, her screaming addon

    Have fun

  • Well I could name a few killer or survivor main streamers that hardly play the other side and that have 10k-ish hours who are basically bot level despite their self perceived level of skill :')

That doesn't really address the problematic aspects of the perk. I see MfT almost every game, and I can probably count the number of times I've seen endurance from it on one hand. That's not why people are running it.

"M1 killers are terrible, so they won't have to worry about a good perk" is a terrible argument. I don't know what my MMR is, but I've run into four-man SWFs all running MfT who have gotten gens done in six minutes with no slowdown perks on my part, and they're very hard to deal with. (Not impossible, but hard. I can run the most broken builds in the game, and getting a 2K is a struggle against those guys.)

I think that BHVR is currently trying to encourage some kind of "speed meta" by giving survivors a broken perk and forcing killers to deal with it somehow, but nobody's running the intended killer counter perks, because they suck. They lose stacks when you swing, require you to give up bloodlust entirely for the entire game, only activate long enough to kick a few pallets after a gen pops and you're already losing, etc.

If anything, they'll drop it to 1-2% and keep the Endurance. I also wouldn't say no to keeping it as it is, but making it a Boon totem with map-wide effects. Then it could be stacked with Dark Theory, which would be interesting and powerful, but would also make it counterable.

At any rate, I don't hate MfT half as much as I hate For the People/Buckle Up. I can deal with MfT if I absolutely have to, but that combo is broken.

Yes, but it's telling that everyone was complaining about it on the forums this time before he made the video. Usually, it'll be me and like two other people here saying that a perk is good (Eruption), and everyone will disagree with us until Otz makes a video, and then suddenly the entire forum turns into a river of flame.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3537071#Comment_3537071

So you're one of the two others, then.

Because, no, when that perk came out, everyone here dismissed it as a joke and said it was terrible and nobody should ever run it, same as they did with CoB/Overcharge.

Also, you're dead on about Self-Care. That's another perk that's actually good (at least when it gets combined with Botany and Desperate) that gets dismissed out of hand around here.

When running a whole build around self care its straight on better than taking a medkit under every possible circumstance. The problem is it is often associated with newer players and usually one sees the average soloq member running it and making horrible use out of it and dismisses how strong being able to self heal actually is

    Anyway...

Ah yeah I definitely agree with that

Killer perks not getting as big nerfs as survivors? You serious?

Undying: went from relighting a hex 4 times to relighting it once

Ruin: 200% regression into 100% regression, not worth running anymore

Call of Brine: extra 100% regression into extra 25% regression

Overcharge: extra 100% regression into extra 35% regression

Eruption: straight up removed the main part of the perk

If anything, it is survivors who had their favourite toys untouched by nerfs for an unreasonably long time

Undying was one of the most broken perks ever released for the killer side, that's why it got nerfed

The gen kick meta was so stupid that a killer had to actively try not to win a game to lose it, and btw I called out how stupid eruption was from the moment the buff was announced in the ptb patch notes of 6.1, like, everybody could foresee how unhealthy and broken it was

The only perk that was unnecessarily nerfed was ruin. It deactivating due to one person's death was an interesting (and healthy?) addition, but the regression down to 100 was over the top

Because each times a perk become popular for the survivor, it get nerfed to the ground?

Like, Dead Hard, Self Care, Decisive?

Even if killer perks get nerf, it's not as big than these for survivor, and when you add "basekit" nerf or item nerf (healing, vaulting, gen, flashlight, key,..)

Strange thing, but I can understand, why, suddently, survivor who use (or not, pretty sure some people never touch it and are against is nerf) become mad

    Just a guess

Unreal you didn't mention CoH among them considering you brought up DH too as if it wasn't one of the most broken perks survivors ever had.

Selfcare was nerfed while botany was buffed, taken together they are still better than pre nerf sc. Why was the nerf necessary? Because the ability to self heal is one of the strongest tools survivors have, and mathematically speaking there is almost not a single situation where self healing with sc+botany isn't better than letting another survivor heal you. And this is also why medkits were nerfed (and not enough anyway). But then again, that implies you're playing with other fully aware players with a strong game sense (and possibly thousands of hours of experience) and not people that would get beaten by the newly introduced bots

The only perk I agree in this case was overly nerfed was DS. The 5 seconds stun should have remained as it is. And still I'm not saying it's useless, because unless the killer is a top tier tunneler, learning where to die in order to be safe after using ds is an aquired skill too

I'm not sure how a perk giving the equivalent of subtle speed hacks to survivors made it out of the brain storming room, especially with the current state of many maps, but we're talking about the same people that gave the ok to release SM in her current state, who are unable to implement a functioning hit validation system to windows and pre dropped pallets, and who might or might not be looking into blight's addons soontm

First of all, "0 ping" don't exist in a multiplayer game unless it is peer 2 peer and you are the host of the game, or you are running the server in your computer. Even in a LAN, with two computers one besides the other, you don't have "0 ping".

Second, fast internet speed has little to do with your ping. There is a lot of factors that can affect the latency you have (stability of the connection, distance to the server, being connected with cable or WiFi, and even the RJ45 cable you are using).

So, what that video shows is a lot of missed hits, that has nothing to do with how much latency the killer had, unlike the first gif you posted where it is obviously a hit that didn't happen because the lag of the survivor and / or how hitboxes worked in the day.

And yes, you have evidence of how they used to work. Now, show me your official source that says that's how they should work. Because again, not even in the official wiki there is any mention of fast vaulting giving you any more distance than the other vaults, much less it being more than enough for you to be out of reach, and even less that you can't be hit during or after it. They allow you to vault faster, maintain your momentum, and probably it would also give you some advantage by changing the hitbox so it is harder to hit you while doing the vault.

The funny thing is that I'm not even against the fast vault giving you more distance or saying that is not how it should be, but again, it is an open and unobstructed space and if you are inside my attack reach, whatever is during the vault or after it, you should be hit. Simple as that.

I'm not sure if you're purposedly circling around the problem to avoid discussing it directly, but whilst "0 ping" doesn't exist in a multiplayer game, it is a fact that hit validation in DBD only occurs when a killer is getting stunned by a pallet. There is no hit validation when vaulting windows or pallets, or when predropping a pallet, which is why killers with higher ping get an advantage (hit validation on every case other than pallet stuns happens on the killer's end), as the survivors hitboxes on their screen don't match where the survivors actually are.

This is why people advocate for a functioning hit validation system, because this will bring killers with a better connection on par with killers with a worse connection. The video posted showcases killers (and survivors) with good connection where the survivor hitbox matches almost perfectly the pov of the survivor themselves

So again, it boils down to: "the server should decide, so the player with the best connection gets the advantage" because as of now, it is not fair

For reference, when I mentioned predropping pallets, I meant that situations like this can happen and they aren't even fairly uncommon:

    https://twitter.com/Scooteybootey/status/1697038819336303083?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1697038819336303083%7Ctwgr%5E3344f132e5eddf46b89d3f48918f39c4bcddb75f%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums.bhvr.com%2Fdead-by-daylight%2Fdiscussion%2F389648%2Fthanks-for-the-vaults

In this case there is no validation involved because there was no stun involved since the killer was too far, but on the killer's screen the pallet hadn't even been dropped

An experienced tunneler will either wait out BT or hit through it.

What op was missing from the anti-facecamp announcement is that the survivor won't unhook instantly, but gets the option to do so - so likely they'll wait out the entire hook timer. It would be tunnelers wet dream if the unhook happened automatically.

And an experienced survivor will be able to play around getting tunneled as well. There are really only a few killers that can actively tunnel without much effort, all the others rely on the fact that its the tunneled survivor that allows them to end the chase quickly

I didn't mention the waiting part and choosing the correct moment to self unhook, that was implied with the fact that the other survivors are doing gens. The more time the camped person stays on hook, the most gen progress the survivors gain

  • Man your clip and your "maths" prove absolutely nothing and I'm saying it as someone who doesn't care about current state of xeno

  • A normal unhook right now requires (without factoring deli) the agency of another survivor, regardless of what the killer is doing. With the current proposed camping solution, if you stick around the hook, the 3 remaining survivors will just keep doing gens, so you'll have 3 people of gens instead of at most 2, while the hooked survivor has the agency to self unhook

I don't really see how worth camping will be if you say so (after the implementation of the announced camping solution), especially because with 10 seconds bt a survivor can easily make a safe loop and waste some more of your time even if tunneled

  • Medkits are still the single strongest item in the game, not sure what you're on about. The ability to self heal in general is one of the strongest tools survivors have, regardless of what people say even about self care

  • Haste -> vaulting speed

    Remove endurance effect entirely

  • From what I heard, calm spirit doesn't help. You won't scream, but the killer will still see the bubble :)

So calm spirit keeps being useless

  • It's because there's an achievement involving grabbing a survivor after 3 blinks

  • ITT: people finding out that killers want to play more than one single character after almost a week from their release 🤯🤯🤯

  • @C3Tooth said:

DBD is the only game where side A losing 61% is considered A sided game.

Because, unlike what some people like to say, survivor gameplay has quite a huge skill ceiling and most survivor players are very very bad. That doesn't change the fact that the game balancing is tuned towards good survivors by a wide margin

  • This is not a horror game, quit with this rethoric of "you should feel scared of the killer"

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 35
