  • I play survivor because I've made a lot of good friends in the community and it's a fun time that brings us together. I enjoy the gameplay, but I don't think I'd play nearly as much without friends. That's true for most games for me - I like the social experience.

As far as gameplay goes, I like figuring out how a killer plays and playing the mindgames with them. Reacting to killers is where I find my fun rather than taking the proactive role.

  • Discussions about bans are not allowed on the forums. Submitting a ticket to support is the correct way to appeal your ban, as you've already done.

  • Just like what @Jdsgames said - OoO would eat through your tokens in 30 seconds and you'd be left with none fairly quickly. Even if you accidentally look at the killer from across the map, you'll lose a token.

  • I have a soft spot for Huntress's, since she was the first killer release I was around for. Other than that, I really like Clown's and Plague's, and for survivors I'd have to say Jane's.

This did not actually used to be the case. It was only more recently that it became no longer the case to grab traps by hitting spacebar as you walk over them.

Requests were made ages ago too to be able to set a trap where it is laying without having to pick it up first, useful for when you are already carrying traps.

How recently? I've noticed it since I started playing him about a year and a half ago.

Also I forgot about the resetting traps (without a bag) being a pain, that'd be cool QoL too.

Trapper should start ( base) with three traps on with a max of 4 he can carry with add ons.

Two traps should alweardy spawn open like iridescent stone and he should have vacuum when walking by a closes trap

That last thing is one of the things I really want for Trapper - easily picking up closed traps. Half the time I walk past one and intend to pick it up but go too far, and spam spacebar while I slowly back up just to pick it up! Otherwise, I just want traps to not spam in random corners, maybe have them spawn closer to the center if they're still on the ground. It feels like a 3-day journey just to get those sometimes.

  • The old lighting was hard on my eyes, especially on the darker maps such as Shelter Woods. I much prefer the game as a test of ability (tracking survivors and chasing them down) rather than if my eyes are good enough to see someone crouching in the shadows (spoiler alert: I wear glasses, so my eyes are not that good). I much prefer the new atmosphere, even if it took a while to get used to.

  • Out of those perks - Sloppy Butcher and Enduring make for a well-rounded build.

  • That Pig gives me autumn vibes - I thought she was holding a basket of leaves or something at first glance! Really nice job!

  • Happy birthday!

  • So much David hate here :( More for me!

My least favorite is probably Meg. I can't really explain why, but I don't like most of her cosmetics and her cries of pain always annoy me.

  • Bans are not to be discussed on the forums.

When what draws you to the game is the grind instead of the trials itself, I think that says something. Im just thinking of games like COD where people still put in some serious hours AFTER having their character maxed out.

I still enjoy the game - the grind just gives me a constant goal besides simply playing the game. I love tangible progression.

  • Agreed. There's always something I can spend my points on - getting all my characters prestiged, or unlocking all the perks. I wouldn't have played nearly as long if I had everything I could ever want in the first hundred hours.

  • Don't discuss bans on the forums. Contact support at: https://support.deadbydaylight.com

  • Spine Chill + Resilience is a lot of fun - vaulting faster saves my life so much!

A little less obscure, but still fun, is Lithe + Dance With Me (+Quick & Quiet) for a Houdini build. I haven't run that in a while, might go back to it soon!

  • As far as I know, it does. It doesn't say it in the description but I've noticed it, even if 6% isn't a lot. It's saved me a few times!

  • They brought back Resilience increasing vault speed in 3.0.0! It had been gone for a few patches (I believe it left around when they changed how vault momentum works), but I'm so excited that it's back. It's one of my favorite builds. Leader vault speed left at the same time and is still gone (25% would probably be way too much anyways, like they thought)

  • Those are stunning! I love the details on Dwight - that palette looks challenging! Good luck if you do more, I'm really looking forward to seeing them.

  • I like having more options. I started playing about a month after Doctor's release, and none of the killers really interested me at that time, even with a roster of 7 different killers. When Huntress released, I suddenly found myself interested in playing killer, and I had a blast! More options means it's more likely for someone to find a killer that fits their play style.

Luckily I started early enough that the paywall to get all of them wasn't too big an issue, but I definitely understand that complaint (it's a lot, looking back on it) - then I look at other games that release characters more frequently with higher costs (MOBAs especially!) and don't think it's that bad. As far as viability goes - the top tier killers are largely not behind pay walls. Nurse and Hillbilly are free, and you can unlock some of the other better ones with playtime if you can't spend the money.

  • I HATE jumpscares. If I'm playing against a Hag and trigger a random trap, I get so flustered and I can barely figure out where I need to go afterwards. Same can be said for Prayer Beads Spirit, she just appears next to you super loud and suddenly with no way to know beforehand.

Myers is less sudden and loud, same with Ghostface. They usually only jumpscare me if I run into them myself while they're stealthed.

  • I remember a few of them, but there's one from when I was very young that stuck with me. I was being chased by a skeleton down a road, and I tried to hide under a bed to get away from it. Needless to say, the skeleton was smarter than I was and found me (I don't know how he could've possibly guessed I was hiding under a bed in an empty room!)

Another was the baby alien from Chicken Little running rampant in my house, but that's less a nightmare and more of a confusing experience.

  • I believe these terms are being used to show how relatively powerful their effects are. If the numbers were given, it would be easy to incorrectly estimate the actual difference it makes.

A "slight" charge speed increase may be something like 8%. That doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference in its role, and has to be low as to not completely break powers.

Compare that to old Combat Straps - they had the "slightly" designation but increased crouch speed by 100%. That's because that's where the value is relevant.

I do however agree that transparency of numbers can be a useful tool for those that understand them and are interested in the fine-tuning of game balance. It was one of my pet peeves in Diablo 3 (until I learned there was a setting to turn on number percentages!). A toggle in settings would be very cool.

  • This is super cute! I love your style.

  • I often get killer dailies too. I think I just notice them more because I'm happy to see survivor dailies and clear them out quickly, while the killer ones sit around for a few days nagging me.

  • @Jonathanskilz I think they want perks to have the same general functionality at all tiers. Like, you unlock Pharmacy with the expectation that it will always give a medkit no matter how much you level up - it just improves as you level.

Giving different items changes how the perk functions completely, and since you can't choose what level you use, it may discourage people from leveling it up if they prefer one item over another.

  • I personally enjoy the randomness of looting - it makes it that much better when you finally get what you want!

That being said, Pharmacy is still one of my favorite perks. Speed looting and a guaranteed medkit is awesome.

  • 64 hours isn't even 3 full days! Definitely not a problem.

  • I have a soft spot for any Davids. They may farm you off every hook, but they will die for you afterwards.

I remember a time where we did everything we could to save a teammate that ran the killer the whole game. They ended up escaping while the rest of us died to Endgame (right at the exit too!), but it was worth the chaos of making sure they got rewarded for keeping us safe.
