What is happening with the matchmaking??

Do you guys have this issues too?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/237/QDRW6CE2S4OH.jpg

The devs said they would address SWF matchmaking, yet here we are.

  • @Mochan said:

The change wasn't reverted. There just weren't any other survivors for you to play with at the time.

I'm rank 7 killer. They were all rank 2 survivors, 3 of them with items and strong add-ons. My Trapper didn't stand a chance, not like the devs care.

To answer your question: yes, I do get messages like this. Pretty much every time I actually do well as Killer.

Their logic: You won as killer? You sweaty camper and tunneler!

Just felt like playing spirit and for some reason I get this salty dude, i dont understand some people. Also is it really bannable to body block someone who put themselves in the corner?

I get crap like that all the time. DCs and then "You sweaty tryhard tunnel camper!".

  • @DelsKibara said:

I've read a lot of "Nerf Spirit" and "The Spirit is fine. Don't nerf her." threads yet I seem to still feel like I'm missing exactly why people want to nerf her or why she is fine.

I personally think she is fine, because after playing her (and becoming a Spirit main) for a while, she has a steep learning curve that isn't so easily accessible for most players, very reliant on survivors making sound or scratch marks to use her power (Something most stealth survivors can easily avoid with perks like Spine Chill (which is an underrated perk in my opinion) and Iron Will.), and even when she is chasing after a survivor and using said power, the survivor can juke her making her guess where they exactly went (which I'm finding to become more and more common the higher up the rank I go since I took a break).

Now, that's not to say that Spirit isn't powerful. She most definitely is. Sometimes maybe too powerful with the right addons (I'm looking at you, Beads). I've had rounds of matches where the survivors couldn't even get 1 generator down before all of them die or disconnect.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/895/7E5YNLXPFKLS.png

I hope this screenshot is alright, I didn't blur the names of the survivors because I don't mean this screenshot to reflect negatively on them.

With games like these and add-ons as powerful as her's, I can understand why some survivors want to cry out for her to be nerfed. I would also hate playing against her whenever I play as a survivor.

But I also want to hear everyone's exact reasoning, their personal reasons as to why they want to keep her the way she is/nerf her to an agreeable level. Why do you personally want to change her/keep her the way she is?

I'd like to add for everyone to keep this conversation civil, as this has been a pretty hot topic in the forums lately, and I want to see if there is a compromise to be made in regards to her and her powers.

If there's a DC in a match, it doesn't count because that's just people being crybabies and not wanting to play against a killer. That's literally saying them, "I don't know counterplay, so I'm just gonna quit."

  • @ThatOneGuy said:

Like you have a key, I don’t understand what the difference is with being knocked etc. killer gives u hatch ur crawling and can escape sooooo why can’t you do the same with the key??

That would just be yet another reason why the hatch is overpowered.

  • @Usui said:

Never gonna happen, at most what they will do is make looping harder, and survivors weaker and weaker until their game dies.

We both know that'll never happen. Survivor will always be the power role.

No, but I'm certainly tired of the amount of billys and ruin I deal with at high ranks :c

Hillbilly is easy to beat. You're probably being too greedy with loops, or you get drooler teammates. And as for Ruin, if it gets nerfed but nothing is done about gen speed, people will leave the game.

  • @CyberianFaux said:

I don't know if gen speeds are bugged and faster or people have just started using toolboxes every game but something has definitely changed for the worse. Just 4 days ago, every single game I played I was getting 4ks with 5 gens remaining and now I am depipping with 2 kills every single match. Before someone states it is rank reset so I am playing with higher rank survivors, I am a rank 1 killer. I used to be able to just casually play Trapper at rank 1 and never lose but now I am never winning. I even switched to Spirit and the same results are still coming out of my games (P3 Spirit player who has played since release). I don't want to always win mind you but something has changed. Why are we faced with two extremes like this in matchmaking? Is anyone else experiencing this? Either way, the gen speeds I am seeing shouldn't be possible and my try hard games are now worse than my casual ones due to this (btw every game I am using as an example is with ruin up and never broken except before when I was dominating even with it gone).

I never really like to use the term "gen rush" but I don't see how gen speeds are fine right now. They are supposedly 80 seconds based on some wiki information but that simply isn't possible as 3 gens are done by the time I down my first person within 30 seconds of the match starting. This means every single person was solo on a gen and did each in 30 seconds. Even without ruin, this shouldn't be possible so I don't see how it is with it as the survivors keep confirming to me that they failed many skill checks those games. Is there a new bug to do gens faster or something that people have figured out? I just want to understand what is going on.

Time to slap NOED on, not that it'll activate half the time. As killer, you've gotta use everything that's available to you, or you lose.

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

OP why do you only go around the forum posting things that start drama? Every time I see you, you are trying to stir up hate between the sides or drama, or openly insulting people. Why? It makes no sense to just be a "Fire Starter".

We're supposed to be able to debate. You can't stop him, even with your imaginary claims of "stirring up hate'.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

Seriously, how is there no programming that prevents this. Sure, they should be across the map from each other. A Huntress was able to throw an axe from one gate to hit me opening the other. This wasn't some trick shot, it was a clear line of sight.

I think the best way to balance it for killer and survivor (except for maps like The Game where the exit areas are built into the map) is to make them right in the middle of the furthest possible positions and the shortest possible positions. It's pretty easy to do for maps with the brick walls on the edges, but impossible for some others unless they get completely reworked.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

So they helped newbie killers but screwed newbie survivors?

imagine you have 2 friends at rank 16, a rank 17 random but because you’re Rank 3 , you get a rank 1 killer.

It’s like we have one step forward and 2 backwards.

About time. Survivors are gonna have to suck it up like we did for so long. If your friends care enough to play the game in a team, they might want to think about getting good at it first. THEN you can come with legitimate complaints.

  • @Pugpablo123 said:

Post what Killer you use the most often, and when enough people post then I will make a graph on the percent of how much each killer is used. In this way we will know what killers are fun to play as and are good as is and which ones might need a reworking. If this goes well then I will have one for the survivors.

Please try posting, it takes 5 seconds to type in the name of your killer and press enter.

Here is a poll if you do not want to type it. https://www.strawpoll.me/18688543/r

Some things had to be nerfed in order to make the killer experience not totally frustating. However, I agree on point you made: only swf is really fun. Seriously, I hardly enjoy solo Q. I used to love playing survivor, it was a fun experience when playing solo. But now it's just to frustating and tilting me to much. I only go for head on stuns and "bully" the killer, idc about the match itself unless I play swf. Devs are literally killing the solo experience by nerfing survivors BUT not buffing solo survivors to an even level. They are just left behind, as if 99% are playing 4 men swf on discord which is not the case.

Imo if the devs are not finally starting to fix the solo experience we will have even more players who won't touch survivor anymore and enjoy playing killer more... Which makes the lobby times even worse for everyone.

I agree that there's basically as much as of a fun difference between survivor and killer as there is between solo and SWF. What they need to do is close the gap between the 2 survivor modes somehow so then they can actually start balancing the game for killers without ruining the solo survivor experience. I think Kindred should just be a part of the game.

You really believe that #########? Anyone who claims to have hit rank 1 as killer in a week either

1.already made it to rank 1 as survivor and have been there for 3-4 MONTHS

    2. LYING OUT THEIR ASS cause a new player will barely make it to rank 8 without a proper amount of perks which would require you to wait for them to open in the shrine or buy all the killers and spend almost a month leveling them up (maybe more)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/951/3A9YLTP73WCI.jpg

Yeah they really need to make leveling up characters faster. You'd think 100,000 bloodpoints is a lot but really it's like nothing. And then commiting to prestiging a character even once? Good God, it takes forever.

Nerf ds and sc and MoM and exhaustion perks and nerf bnps into the ground and oh they switched to adrenaline bc we killed sc? Nerf that too and let's increase gen tines even though there's lots of "why is killer que so long!"

Have fun waiting 20 mins to play against 4 man swf with engineer toolboxes. You'll nerf survivors enough only SWF is fun enough to play.

I have a problem with Adrenaline because it's just a better Hope since it gives a speed boost but also heals. It's too much for 1 perk, and it's the same with NOED where I feel like the 1-shot down potential makes it strong enough and it shouldn't have the speed boost as well. But anyway adrenaline to me is a low-risk, high-reward perk because everyone gets to push gens while damaged (which makes the gens pop even faster) and even if they're hooked, it activates once they get off which is nonsense. As for DS, just make it to where the killer hooking someone deactivates the perk because it's good against tunnelers but also non-tunnelers.

  • @Mochan said:

Nah, with all the awesome sauce killers we have here all proudly posting they are Rank 1 in a week without trying it's obvious that killer is not that bad.

Maybe I should clarify that I don't have all the perks and killers in the game like these 'pros' do. No Spirit Fury/Enduring or any of those crazy combos. Just decent perks like Ruin and NOED. Surprisingly, those perks don't seem to make much of a difference. Console sensitivity is also rough, getting 360d and all that.

  • @Spaceman94 said:

To be fair, I found the rank 19 survivor within the first 20 seconds and she pretty much accepted defeat. Guessing the rank 5 is why they matched with me.

NOED has been rampant lately primarily that nice little green emblem that allows a killer to insta down you without much work, lately in the forums people have been telling each other to work on totems. Sometimes that isn't so easy to do without wasting too much time, now this is where my favorite perk which is severely underrated because not many killers ran NOED before but now..... IT IS FANTASTIC.

I get a lot of hate mails from killers for breaking all the totems, the sadness killers experience as that NOED isn't popping up. Small Game is a life saver and a time saver, I'm glad this perk has finally been useful and doesn't feel like a waste of space. I highly suggest you run this perk for those pesky totems.

In matches with Ruin, I immediately search for it and break it using Small Game. Sometimes I even run around destroying all the totems for the points even if there's no hex perks.

I've had a few games today which ended with a post game chat like this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/897/AMHO3LPYEPNQ.png

I mean... If you are near a pallet I'm gonna m1 you. If you are injured I'm gonna m1 you. If you are near a window, I'm gonna m1 you. But if you are in the open or in an unsafe pallet, I'll m2 you. I can't understand these people, seriously! Can someone explain this to me? Why are they complaining about me using my m1 instead of the chainsaw? Isn't better to receive a m1? please I'm confused, I promise I do not understand!

They always have something to say, even if it's stupid stuff like that. Just take the L and move on.

This video proves that survivor is litteraly the most powerful role in the game. You don't even need to use pallets. Just run those infinites and the killer can dc over and over. And those survivor want Nurse nerfed? No wonder nobody likes survivors. And what are the devs doing? Adding an F tier killer and buff survivor perks. Great game...

Adrenaline definitely makes it way easier. The perk only works assuming you rush the gens, which (oh wait!) happens regardless!

  • @[Deleted User] said:

As a survivor main I am always slightly annoyed at taking a hit from smaller killers when I am clearly far enough away to avoid their attack animation to the point their weapon "hits" me from a meter away.

I am aware that the devs have used the excuse of "consistency" to make every killer feel the same, but the problem is that freddy is no where near the size of trapper and should have an attack cone that actually matches his small size. The same goes for every killer, with smaller ones needing unique cones since the larger killers are fine and actually match.

Either that or match the hitboxes on survivors to their character model, so jeff and meg should be different for example. Or you know, keep making the survivor experience get worse and worse to increase those killer lobby wait times.

I already feel like certain killers are way harder to land attacks with than others. If you really wanted to apply that, certain killers would be absolutely unplayable. Knife characters would have pathetically short range, and stuff like the Doctor's club and the Nurse's blade would literally never hit.
