Killers are the power role here and that's how it should be, its 4vs1 game. However, how the hell is soloQ fine being the most underwhelming, underpowered, weak, no coms role to play?

SWF groups have slighty higher escape rate, with over 40% yet soloQ can't even have that. This role needs some serious buffs to make it closer to SWF escape rates.

Where on earth have you obtained these stats?
BHVR have nevered publisedh anything, nevermind a useful stat regarding the huge imbalance between solo and SWFs, it's one of the reason why solo play is so unfun.

  • Not Plague, good luck with landing anything with her

  • "My point is that choice and skill don't matter."
I'd have to disagree, choice is very important especially today where lack of choice grows more and more.
I'm not sure why you bring skill into this discussion as it nothing to do with communications?

"There are a lot of reasons why someone cannot use voice comms to communicate, and the chances of one of those reasons being present in every game is very very high. It won't do the thing you want it to do because a lot of players would be prevented from being able to use it."
You are not at all clear, perhaps you'd like to give an example?

"Let me ask this, it might help me make this more clear: What benefit do you think voice comms would have?"
In game voice comms is a missing QOL since SWF was implemented. A couple of easy example would be that it allows people make friends and brings balance by not allowing other to have a unfair advantages over them.

Think of communications like a scooter…
If I offered you a scooter in a race and you refused the scooter then you still have the same ability to run or walk in the race, to be against to be offered a scooter is a little odd don't you think?

  • Found the answer… why on earth is this hidden in feedback and discussions?

This was posted for general discussion

  • Nobody has actually answered this question… how very strange

"Hey Spirit... let me spank that ass... oooh she is angry... looks like she wants to tunnel, I wouldn't mind some tunneling myself..."

Oh hey, I never saw this. Well, might as well respond since the post's on the front page again--

I think the major misunderstanding is that you're still thinking of voice comms as a personal matter. It's up to your skill and preference how well you can use it, right? If that's not your position, my apologies, but it's how you're coming across to me so far.

The problem is that it's not a personal matter. In order for voice comms to positively affect balance, everyone needs to be able to use them - or at the very least, most players need to be able to use them. Your personal skill and preference with the mic doesn't matter if your three teammates are a guy who speaks a different language to everyone else, a guy who doesn't have a mic to begin with, and a guy that needs to be muted immediately because they're either blaring loud music or live in a house with other people who are loudly arguing.

That's the reality of voice comms, that happens much more frequently than everyone being able to communicate. At that point, when you're in a game like that... nothing has changed, right? You're still in the exact same position as before: The quality of your games in solo queue are completely random based on factors you can't control. In a wider sense, nothing has changed for the game, either: Some players can communicate on voice, and most players can't, with the gap between them making balance very difficult.

It'd be a lot of time and effort put into introducing a feature most players won't reliably get to use, and that'll force most players into the annoying chore of muting whoever in their match is being obnoxious without any positive benefit. It's not a good idea; it categorically won't address the actual problem, and it wouldn't have any other benefits to make up for that, not reliably. It's net negatives all the way down.

To your point earlier in the thread about making friends and forming new SWF -- I would support functionality in the game that actually does that, like a guild system or some form of party-matching system. Voice comms, though, wouldn't do it.

"I think the major misunderstanding is that you're still thinking of voice comms as a personal matter. It's up to your skill and preference how well you can use it, right? If that's not your position, my apologies, but it's how you're coming across to me so far."

Please explain what you are talking about with this 'personal matter' you keep mentioning?

  • I think the question should be, why do hooks break when survivors die.

Imagine getting 4 down at exit gates and still being unable to carry all of them to a hook… I know, you don't need to imagine

  • MMR? DBD doesn't use MMR, it uses SMMB which is why it doesn't work.

Communications and why actual balance means it should be offered to all survivors is a huge problem why this game continues to be fun for SWFs on comms and less so for killers making them play in an unfun way.

BHVR then try and stop the unfun way... the logic is mindblowing

  • I mean I know Midwich you physically can't hook people in certain places but when you can't hook someone you think ... what is the point of downing someone. Maybe slugs are what BHVR want?

lol i literally did the survey, it was like 9 months ago.

    lol?

Very strange as I fill those in... except the last one which had the strange habit of asking the same question with single different item from the last question.

This means you are making things up, also I found it interesting the no BHVR representative could address this question either... odd thinking about this being the solution to all the numerous 'balance' changes :\

I mean, even if you are right, what's the alternative? P200? P1000? P100000000000000000000000000000000000000000?

It was the same before the P100 patch, only the max was only P3. Trust me It's a LOT easier to get every survivor and killer to P3 than it is to get every survivor and killer to P100.

Plus, the same goes for killers. If I as a P20 lets say go up against a P100 Nurse, how is that fair? Thing is I don't even know she's a P100 Nurse until AFTER the game is over. Hence the reason survivors want their Prestige hidden in the pre-game lobby.

Thanks for your post, the first and only positive comment.

Getting your favourite survivor you regullary play to P100 against many different killers to benefit from rarer items is far far easier than doing the same for someone wanting to play killer and getting P100 on every killer for the same level/benefits.

There are many different solutions, one is a store of items purchaseable with bp/time spent playing rather than playing on each killer/survivor.

If I were a Steve main for example, why would I want to spend bp on anyone but Steve except to P1 other survivors to get their perks... logically the imbalance in this is just crazy but as we all know in every game 80% play survivor

Yes, you've misunderstood my crucial point.

You won't get comms like "Ghostface at shack" or "shack window is trapped" from voice comms. That's the entire reason they won't help solo queue in any meaningful way. To get comms like that, everyone would need to have the ability, desire, and language to use the voice comms at all, which isn't guaranteed. In most of your games, you're gonna have people who don't have a mic, or who don't care to use the mic, or who don't speak the same language as you so it doesn't matter whether they want to communicate or not.

You won't get consistent information in the sense that you won't get any information unless the stars align. If you play in EU, that's dramatically unlikely. If you play in NA, it's a little more plausible, but still not reliable. That's why I say it's out of your control, because it's up to chance if your teammates can use comms or understand you when you use comms.

What you want isn't voice comms. You want people who'll communicate with you. The game can't give you that with any additions, voice comms or otherwise; you have to get it from SWF.

A lot of words that have already been covered in that the feature at it's core is a bonus that can be optionally used... how on earth is that a bad thing?

Your opinion on how it is used is similar to skill on how it is used, some will tell you about the killer some will not.

I do love the people who are offered a free product that benefits them and then say what if it makes me fat... well don't eat it but this product is healthy

It was needed. It combines their player bases and makes more money. I'm sure you can figure out how that works.

Adding this feature simply because other games have means very little. It won't make them more money, therefore they won't do it.

Every balance change improves their product, they are trying to make this game fun for profit.

  • @Halloulle said:

I don't know why the argument, that moderation isn't feasible is just brushed off like that. It's really very straightforward and simple.

The following assumes bhvr would generally welcome voice chat as a standard. As a company they have set their own standards for what kind of language and what level of offense they deem inacceptable. When the line is crossed an account gets banned. If you offer a communications-feature as part of your base game you have to be able to enforce your own rules. Bhvr seems to not think they would be able to enforce their rules in voice chat. - Be that because they would need too many people working customer support or because it would be too hard to prove - or both, or something else entirely. It doesn't matter. The bottom line is: they don't think it's feasible for one reason or the other so it's not a base-game feature.

What premades do outside the features within the game is the premades' business; bhvr is not accountable for insults people hurl at each other via discord or steam chats or whatever.

For some people moderation in chat is important, when you have mute (for life) it is very simple to do.

It would take resources and time for BHVR to implement, and they have zero upsides for this move. Theres no money. There's no benefit compared to the game currently.

Your 'choice' in this is admirable, but if you want to comms, just get some comms. This is a dead horse you're continuously kicking.

I don't agree there is no money as new content is always being produced, however ensuring your chicken lays golden eggs needs work to be done and lets face it, it is a feature most other games have.

You could argue why other changes that have been done such as cross-platform, was that needed. Not really but other games had it and is a good feature that improves the game.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3615843#Comment_3615843

I'll start at the bottom of your comments.

Opinon which is healthy but fun is obtained through the game being fair do you not agree?

No, at least not absolutely. Yes, I don't want anything in the game that is too broken, but fun outweighs balance. I'd rather have an assortment of maps that add variability to the game, even if some of those maps tilt one way or the other.

I have zero interest playing the games with comms. If they were introduced I'd play a lot less. Is it a little annoying when playing killer that sometimes all 4 survivors have an advantage? Yes, but I wouldn't trade that for a comm based survivor experience.

One could also argue a positive point that it creates new friends and becomes more fun which I must admit not many are doing which is odd but perhaps from being in solo queue. This only has positives regarding balance.

One could argue, but I don't think its even close to true true.

We live in a world where people may get offended, simply mute and move on or don't mute and communicate further. The idea that speech should be policed is a very odd, there will always be differences with people.

BHVR is saying they don't want players to have to deal with certain content. Having seen some chats in other games, I appreciate it. If you don't that's fine.

Some survivors will use communications better than others, some survivors have more skill than others... not sure what your point is. We are talking about balance and fairness in a game.

Balance means how the game is designed. It goes SWF>Killer>Soloq - adding comms won't actually change that. Soloq would still be at the weakest level, meaning efforts to balance the game won't really change.

We have all heard this before, it is all a mix match but this is matchmaking which is still being tweaked to this day not a problem.

I have no idea what you mean.

    >"...fun outweighs balance. I'd rather have an assortment of maps that add variability to the game, even if some of those maps tilt one way or the other."

My point is that balance creates fun for all, some people could have fun using communications and the odds are more in your favour but less for the other players. Maps are part of the game whilst communications currently is not.

    >I have zero interest playing the games with comms. If they were introduced I'd play a lot less. Is it a little annoying when playing killer that sometimes all 4 survivors have an advantage? Yes, but I wouldn't trade that for a comm based survivor experience.

I imagine you play survivor as playing killer does not require comms but this has been covered in that you can mute some or all.

    >"Friends"-One could argue, but I don't think its even close to true true.

Opinon, but even if 1% untrue.

    >Offence-"BHVR is saying they don't want players to have to deal with certain content. Having seen some chats in other games, I appreciate it. If you don't that's fine."

We are all 18+ on this game, I'm sure we would rather not have to deal with certain content but whether I do or don't is irrelevant as life is life and improvements can always be made such as what you have said about other games, it can be done for those easily offended or unsure how mute works.

"Balance means how the game is designed. It goes SWF>Killer>Soloq - adding comms won't actually change that. Soloq would still be at the weakest level, meaning efforts to balance the game won't really change."

We are talking about balance, if someone has a tool such as communications then everyone in the game should be at least offered that tool for fairness and balance. You are suggesting Soloq would be at the same level which I disagree as we head towards a more balanced game of Killer = SWF &/ solo. If you have a leak and can turn it into drips you do it even if it isn't perfect as perfection takes time.

"I have no idea what you mean."

You mentioned matchmaking time, I recall I mentioned this is always being tweaked and languages, skill levels etc would just be part of it. They can change it to whatever they want for timing preferences to what is acceptable for a trial.

I’m not invested enough to dig up the post/spoonfeed you but you can actually check it out around the 2nd-to-last set of player stats they shared. I believe they released around September/October of this year. The breakdown went into how many players roughly play as a SWF by percentages and it was approximately 40+ % duo, 20% trio, and around 4% a full squad while the rest were solo. It probably seems like every survivor group is a sweaty 4-man or whatever but that’s actually false according to BHVR.

I’m discussing skill (I guess?) as a direct response to how the devs perceive balance. Survivors technically can emulate the ‘communication’—really you mean coordination facilitated by comms by running Kindred and using the HUD.

4% are SWF is the craziest stat I've heard to be honest, at least in my games where every game you are likely to have at least a swf.

Ah, reading further here you are talking about a 4 man swf. Would be interesting if this is from a survery or from actual stats.

So you're saying 64% are swf, making either 64% swf unbalanced or 36% solo and unbalanced.

You mention running kindred which is unfair as this takes up a valueable perk slot which isn't needed with comms.

If consistent communication isn't what you expect to gain from voice comms, what is? What could affect the balance of the game other than the tool being used for its one purpose?

It's also not like skill with your keyboard or controller because it's completely out of your control, for the record.

To the last point: Salt and pepper have a benefit, they are seasonings. Voice comms have no such guaranteed benefit.

    >If consistent communication isn't what you expect to gain from voice comms, what is? What could affect the balance of the game other than the tool being used for its one purpose?

Consistent communication isn't affective communication is, e.g. i had eggs for tea vs it's a ghostface at the killershack

    >It's also not like skill with your keyboard or controller because it's completely out of your control, for the record.

Not sure what you are talking about here

This game isn’t balanced around SWF with comms who actually make up less than 4% of all players. The devs have repeatedly stated that they balance around pretty much all levels of skill. That’s why some killers (Trapper, Legion, Doctor, etc) are ‘weaker’ than others (Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc); it’s intentional & by design. If the game were balanced around the upper echelons of players it would be Death Garden 2.0 which died for that very reason. And they would still need to ‘balance’ around top-tier killers, not 4-man SWFs.

    >This game isn’t balanced around SWF with comms who actually make up less than 4% of all players.

I'm sorry but in my opinion that is crazy to suggest those figures, please show me a link to prove this.

Only partially. The fact is that comms won't lead to consistent communication, and it's pretty well evidenced. It is my opinion that comms aren't a good idea overall, but my opinion is reflective of that fact.

It's also your opinion that it should be a choice. I'd contest that- why should it be a choice when the benefits it'd provide are pretty slim and the downsides it'd present are pretty compelling?

    >Only partially. The fact is that comms won't lead to consistent communication, and it's pretty well evidenced. It is my opinion that comms aren't a good idea overall, but my opinion is reflective of that fact.

Consistent communication isn't what is being talked about, compare it to skill with your keyboard or controller. Some people are better at it, some aren't. Balance leads to fairness and fun in games.

    >It's also your opinion that it should be a choice. I'd contest that- why should it be a choice when the benefits it'd provide are pretty slim and the downsides it'd present are pretty compelling?

If I offered you a salt or pepper with your meal it is your choice whether it has upsides or downsides, the choice is healthy.

  • I should mention many positives aren't being talked about such as making new friends and new SWFs being created

If lets say the game isn't balanced for SWFs on communications and is balanced at solo or somewhere in between then it is fair to say that having an unbalanced/unfair advantage over others makes it more fun, something that people would argue to keep.

Having communications or turning it off, what are the negatives and good for the fairness of the game

  • @jesterkind said:

    Because it wouldn't help, mostly.

People pointing out the inevitable toxicity and such are completely right to do so, but they're sort of falling for the implied framing that there'd be any benefit to voice chat, which there wouldn't be. You wouldn't, as a solo survivor, be in a substantially better place from a balance perspective or an experience perspective, so there's no reliable benefit to adding voice chat to this game.

I think a lot of people expect adding voice chat to mean solo survivors will be on par with SWF, but that obviously isn't the case for a variety of reasons. It's all downsides with - at best - extremely minimal upside.

Have to say this is your opinion but having comms or not, it should be a choice in game whether you think it improves you or not.

  • @crogers271 said:

Most of what I'll say has already been covered, but I'll try and address the responses.

To start, I'll say there is a big problem with the people who say introduce voice chat and use it to balance. These people then also say that if anyone has a problem with it, they can turn it off. The issue here is if you introduce a system, lots of players turn it off/can't use it, you're still in the same place of not being any clearer on how to balance the game.

1: BHVR doesn't want the racism/sexism it would lead to. You say other companies have voice chat and they deal with the hate speech. Cool, BHVR would rather never have it happen in the first place.

2: BHVR doesn't believe that 4 person SWFs running clock call outs are common enough that they need that much attention.

3: Language issues, DbD is played worldwide and on some servers people speak different languages. Having players set a language preference would slow down matchmaking times/accuracy, which they likely view as more important.

4: It would ruin the theme of the game. The game's concept is about survivors being on their own/not knowing what's going on. That's changed over time, but it hasn't changed completely. BHVR doesn't care about creating a perfectly balanced game. They'll emphasize theme and fun over absolute balance.

5: Giving comms to a group of randoms would frequently be a mess even if everyone was trying. Comp teams have the comms down to the bare minimum to communicate messages, that wouldn't be replicated just throwing comms on for everyone. I don't want to hear someone talking about what gen they are starting and miss the sound of Ghostface nearby.

The question is about balance and fairness not that it should be put to a poll

Voice chat would turn this game into an even bigger sweat fest. You would have survivors playing this game like CSGO. You get occassionally swfs now but adding voice chat would basically turn every high mmr team into a 4 man swf.

By introducing the option for communications would then allow a more level playing field of fairness but the main point would be that communications is already here and the imbalance is the game is either balanced for SWFs on comms which is unfair on solo survivors or the game is balanced around solo players without comms which is unfair to killers and solo survivors. Main point being that it already is there but with restricted 3rd party comms groups

I don’t personally want the devs to implement voice chat. There are much better features to introduce or improve.

If we are truly talking about balance in the game then I'm afraid communications should be one of the highest priorities due to the imbalances it creates. I wouldn't want to be playing solo when the game is balanced around swf on communications nor killer if the game is balanced around solos without communications, in games we all want fairness and fun

SWF has to be allowed. It was literally added as a feature to stop people from lobby dodging until they managed to find the same lobby their friends were in.

It is in the nature of multiplayer games, it has to exist. But an in-game voice chat? Here?

I am convinced it will only cause problems.

I have to keep saying this, it should be in the game by now but again... it is an option rather than how it is now, a forced opt out

The first thing I do if it ever exists is cut the audio chat.

I'm in Europe. Hearing kids screaming or ranting in any of the multiple languages around here isn't an appealing prospect.

    You'd opt-out, fair enough

18+ game however you would have it where you'd tick what languages you can speak so you'd get matched with people you could communicate with.

The game has "PERKS" balanced around SoloQ for information missing from lack of SwF. If you don't want to use them that's fine, but dont be arguing for something the game Dev's have stated they dont want to add years ago. The game does not need a in game chat. In fact if they wanna communicate than they can use things like Discord or PSN party Chat. Like you just said it's more interesting to have no in game communication.

I can argue against something i know that will go extremely bad. i dont wanna hear racial, sexist, and other insult's in game. It breaks the immersion of the game and overall will be more toxic than end game chat.

Everything you have said has been covered in previous posts.

To clarify in game chat allows everyone to have the same advantage of communications for a fairer balanced game.

Saying that DBD said that they don't want it doesn't make it true as they opened the can of worms introducing the SWF option knowing full well communications would be used and have even said it is fine to use.

Playing comms with friends works because in the vast amount of cases they are friends.

Playing comms against strangers in a game where people happily bm during the game already and is fairly emotionally charged at times will probably not go well.

Those who do not want comms as SoloQ will also probably be singled out by those who do. Some people take things too seriously amd will get snappy.

If somebody wants comms, then they can go and make friends online. Many wish to form swf with others and do that. This forum even has a section that offers the opportunity to meet with others to form an swf.

My guess is that all these aspects have been heard by the devs and it's simply not a priority. I'm happy for that because if I want comms, I'd want it with friends, not randoms.

BHVR have a discord server to do what the game currently doesn't using voice comms, which kinda covers everything you said including the priority bit. Simply if the game is to be fairer and better balanced communications is the obvious step rather than trying to hide information as to who are a swf and might be using communications giving them an advantage/level playing field and who might be solo giving them an level playing field/a disadvantage

This game encourages selfish survivors, which would be a complete mess if voice comms were basekit.

Imagine survivors screaming at lone wolf survivors, and then the lone wolf survivors claiming the other survivors are harassing them.

Voice comms only work in actual team games, which encourage people to work together.

I agree, the game without comms in it's current state can create selfish survivors.

Your example of a survior screaming can be managed by muting them (lifetime setting) and the idea BHVR are still implementing of keeping previous lobby survivors ensures that you whittle away the unwanted to have a decent team thus giving a better balanced and fair game that can be fun for all

The game's has a chat filter both on here and in the actual game. They have removed features in the game when they were used to target specific people (Leatherface's "face" skins) and have made very clear contributions to inclusivity (The David topic is still pinned for a reason.)

SWF was justified because survivors could lobby dodge until they got their friends. It was planned before that happened (and did happen before it was introduced,) but it made a further case for them to add the feature to the game.

"DBD allow 3rd party communications software so tell me why it shoiuldn't be balanced around it?" Because it's unenforceable, and there are people who use it not for an advantage, but just to play with their friends. Banning discord/console party communications/etc while the game is running would kill the game and they know it.

You don't need to condescendingly keep asking me if I'm BHVR. These are topics that have been discussed on these forums before, some of which we have received official responses on. Speculation is allowed to be done by an outside party, but to answer your question, no I do not work for BHVR.

Your responses are getting more frustrated/antagonistic so I'm going to stop here. Have fun in the fog.

@Ryuhi I feel moderation is near and dear to your heart but for reasons I keep repeating this post isn't about being able to lock everything down, the world isn't like that and people are people as are children but then this is an 18+ game.

Apologies if you are feeling frustrated/antagonistic but I am merely after an answer to my original post.

I don't think it will ever happen.

No only because of the insults and hate speech (which we all know would happen), but also because of the game's nature.

DBD will always remain a hide and seek survival game, that will never change. The game is built around a certain lack of information: which is the very reason why we have perks that give the player select amounts of information, such as Alert and Bond. Also the reason why the old Object of Obsession had a risky downside to it.

It is unlikely they will ever get rid of such aspect.

The day DBD allowed SWF was the day communications started making DBD a non-hide and seek survival game no matter how hard we wish it was, myself included.

Because DBD isn't "other games." They do not want to facilitate that type of behavior, so they don't foster it.

The game isn't balanced around comms, so I don't know what youre trying to argue with the last paragraph. The game is balanced somewhere between solo and swf, but not inherently on one end or the other. The changes you propose would make the balance have to be focused on SWF, which would require a lot of changes. It would also put opt out survivors at an even bigger disadvantage.

    >Because DBD isn't "other games."

What do you mean by this, this could be interpretted different ways.

    >They do not want to facilitate that type of behavior, so they don't foster it.

@Ryuhi are you BHVR, what makes you think this when they actually do facilitate communications

ref:I could point out to other communication methods BHVR do currently provide that are not moderated but you seem fixated on moderation.

    >The game isn't balanced around comms, ...

    Again @Ryuhi are you BHBR?

Why do you think DBD isn't balanced around communications when BHVR constantly try and buff solo to SWF comms level?

Why then did DBD introduce the SWF option who will use 3rd party communications software?

DBD allow 3rd party communications software so tell me why it shoiuldn't be balanced around it?

    >so I don't know what youre trying to argue with the last paragraph.

I understand you wish to avoid discussing the last paragraph

    >The game is balanced somewhere between solo and swf, but not inherently on one end or the other.

    Again... are you BHVR?

You cannot balance a game midway between the haves and have nots, that is impossible :)

    >The changes you propose would make the balance have to be focused on SWF, which would require a lot of changes.

With the introduction of SWF these changes should already have taken place for balance but this discussion is only you telling me what you think BHVR want because I doubt you represent BHVR tbh.

    >It would also put opt out survivors at an even bigger disadvantage.

You've mentioned this and I have answered this in the last paragraph you have ignored, you are failing to notice that players are already forced to opt out of in game communications.

Put simply if your arguement is that DBD should not wish to implement communciations due to you wish it be monitored unlike any other game then that is a poor argument for balancing and for the fairness of players in a computer game

Considering this game has rules against subjects like bigotry/racism/hate speech/etc. there certainly is a need for some moderation. People get banned for things like threats and telling people to self harm in the post game chat, because the devs do not want that type of toxicity in their game.

And again, opt out excuse is pointless when it puts the player at a distinct disadvantage that is not being accounted for with balancing. Clock callouts aren't worth children screaming into their mic when getting chased/downed/missed a skill check/whatever reason. Look at how little it takes for people to give up and try to go next, you can't tell me they're going to be calm and courteous over voice.

I feel I have to repeat myself, other games who provide in game chat do not moderate their games why should DBD?

I could point out to other communication methods BHVR do currently provide that are not moderated but you seem fixated on moderation.

We live in a world where people are and aren't nice to one another, if someone in chat isn't nice you simply mute the player (for life) or not and move on.

You mention the opt out as an excuse, whilst it puts players at a disadvantage what we currently have is exactly that right now. If a player wishes to play at a disadvantage by opting out then they should be given the choice to do so, where currently solo players are forced to opt out/be at a disadvantage.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/401006/if-communications-in-dbd-were-balanced-why-isnt-it-offered-to-solo-survivors-in-game

because like most horror games with a in built game chat. it would probably end up dying because it ruins so much of the game. The game has so many perks to cover the lack of Voice Chat for SoloQ anyways. You can't even argue they are not good perk's because some of them are extremely strong sleeper perk's. You can make build's dedicated to knowing information through the entire game.

Oh I agree that not having communications makes the game more interesting for me but you have to think about the balance of the game as there are people out there who will use communication to play with their friends.

You can't argue to not offer communications in game because it would ruin it when people are already using communications... which do you balance the game around? If there isn't balance there is more enjoyment to those at one end and less for others which is why it is critical to balance your game

  • @Ryuhi said:

Because there can't be any moderation in open voice chat. Considering the chat filter and the fact that certain extreme topics are rightfully bannable, how would they enforce that on voice between randoms? Not only that, but you'd have to balance for voice always being present, while many players would opt out of voice to not have to deal with the toxicity it can very easily cause (putting them at a disadvantage re: balancing.)

Odd answer as moderation isn't needed in voice chat, like other games with in game communications

  • @Steakdabait said:

Leftover legacy design. This game has evolved pass the hide and seek survival party game it was released as.

I heard about seeing everyones perks at loadout and BHVR have said that will take them 'years'... seems they don't care about developing and balancing this game for our fun which is worrying in many different ways

  • For those that say not putting it near a pallet but in the obvious grass patch I think they have missed my comment...

"Trappers power is to stop choke points such as the one shown above "

Other people have correctly identified that paths have been widened and the lack of realism e.g. having a killer hit someone and that survivor sprinting bursting away and with perks, becoming stronger than when fully healed.

With no comment from Peanits I've had enough of this game for a good few months to see if they actually do anything about balance rather than minor things like their poster boy killer having timewasting and useless powers.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

People get upset over snowballs being thrown at them?

I cant take it seriously honestly, half of my matches just end up in a massive snowball fight because it's just way too goofy for me to handle any other way.

I understand 80% of the player base mostly play survivor

Also there are those that do not wish to play or meme around

I wish to have fun experience and expect a level fair playing field... shouldn't be too much to ask after these years.

Watched the Otz video and hearing about obvious solo vs swf balance issues, simple things like knowing each others load out made me realise they know what people want, in my opinion they just don't agree/know or care.

  • Animations are not an excuse, as a survivor I would fully expect to be pulled into that trap.

Reading that the trap should be to the left or right or under the pallet (so the pallet can be dropped and trap made useless but understandably) is incorrect, this is the perfect location for any Trapper to place a trap.

Trappers power is to stop choke points such as the one shown above otherwise his power is slow to obtain, timewasted to setup and pointless... I'm honestly lost for words hearing about animations tbh
