It could be way better, I still run it on plague just so the threat of it forces cleanses. That+both apples lets me actually use my power against good survivors lol.
-
camptress is so broken it feels like a crime whenever I do it, its ridiculous. I think the haft addons themselves are balanced but I wouldnt mind their effect being negated within a certain range of a hook, maybe capping it to a 10% reduction at best within 16m.
-
Seriously its getting ridiculous. Yesterday I played some hag and lost like 3 downs to this weird bug.
-
maybe not as a full chapter, but it would be very cool as a collection! artist as a survivor would go hard.
-
something something toxic + game wasnt made for it.
-
I WOULD LITERALLY KILL FOR MAGICIAN CLUADETTE
-
good chuckies are stronger now thanks to the 6 second cooldown reduction, but bad chuckies will finally have to learn the game instead of playing mini legion
-
my bump logic is way better now but hes way more boring than ever. I find myself only enjoying him when I use double iri since its just so fast and easy to control. I find myself playing more huntress and wesker nowadays.
-
Freddy, sadako, dredge can all teleport so having them immediately be on a survivor the moment the match starts wouldnt be fair (I know its freddy and sadako but still). I dont really know for chucky.
As for blight nurse and spirit, blight still takes time to get across the map (though its a lot less), nurse's map mobility is average unless its an indoor/multifloored map (with edge cases like badham houses/basement), and spirits map moblity is good but not too impressive so she wouldnt need a limit like that. -

I think she still gets increased fatigue for missing a blink attack?
she does but I think its only 0.25s or something, definitely not enough for such a strong power.
-
absolutely not.

I would also like to add the following that you mentioned:
will run to a loop, vault a window and run to the next furthest away yellow aura, rinse repeat until either you mindgame them or they run out of resources.I thought the killer was supposed to mind game at every pallet where possible regardless? Usually when a survivor wastes pallets it screws the entire team up in the process, even with the gens being popped. If a survivor does not look back then it should be EASY to loop around the pallet or cut them off no?
WOO is not as strong as you think because it does have it's drawbacks, one of them makes you turn your mind off during chases. Which you think is bad for the killer right? Wrong, you make mistakes more frequently, you get sloppy with the chases, the pallet can sometimes be very bright and an unpredictable killer doubling back can easily take advantage of this.
I also noticed that you were complaining about this too:
low skill players are getting propelled into higher skill lobbiesIf anything, survivors should be complaining about that lmao
I feel like from the way you've described everything you have a very particular playstyle of wanting to hold W in every chase without attempting to mind game at all, sometimes it makes sense to go for a completely different survivor without having tunnel vision too. Even pretending to leave a chase and coming back can surprise the survivor.
I would also like to mention something about usage rates, games have 4 survivors and 1 killer. Usage rates are always going to be inflated on the survivors side because it's 4:1 per game.
On you last point on inflated usage rates, AFAIK percentages dont work like that.
-
Her basekit is fine and has good counterplay but still needs to be changed in small ways.
- bring back stun-fatigue, and make it so she wont recharge blinks during it (pallets finally have a use)
- Increase fatigue by 1s if you miss (makes locker counterplay more viable while rewarding 360s and punishing nurse misplays)
- bring back lightburn for nurse
- Maybe a small compensatory buff, shorter fatigue for landing a hit?
-
-
Scamper is uncounterable and gives chucky free hits on every basic loop in the game. On larger loops you need slice and dice but its still a hit you dont really deserve (coming from a former chucky main)
-
Yeah it really should. If devour hope lets you mori people regardless of hooks and is balanced as a hex then 200% ruin would absolutely be fair. Plus its not like the survivors cant just go break the totems.

I did a random build archive once and literally got the exact same build I was using normally. That's what I call true random lol
were the perks in the same slots too? thats crazy

I like no mither currently but they should give it like all the effects of old resilience+mft and then some
-
Technically probably yes but theres no way for bhvr to detect it and they dont ban for EQ so go wild.

@DetectiveDuckMain said:
… WoO was meant to help not that experienced survivors. Even if high mmr and rank 1 players are using it they can't remove it because people are still learning the maps, the playstyle, and the game.
Bringing back the cooldown wouldn't keep it from helping newbies imo, plus it'd encourage them to do well in chase and maximize their resource usage until it comes back online.
-
seems fine to me. If people really use it to see pallets their soloQ teammates havent dropped then this doesnt really change that. Removing the cooldown entirely was a big mistake.

Yes they should probably fix that if it's a bug or change it if it's not ^^
yeah they do unfortunately :(

It only nerfed those who used those perks, I'm talking about general mechanics that cover all killers, like hatch.
True, I'd also argue thats untrue considering basekit changes to counter unhealthy strategies in recent years (basekit BT anti facecamp)
-
@Junylar said:
The hatch should just open as soon as there are 2 survivors left and one of them is in the dying state. The killer has won anyway, so it would just save everyone's time. Too bad the devs are against any general nerfs to killers whatsoever.
"against general killer nerfs" they just nerfed every meta perk on killer in the PTB.

what did they do to devour and rancor?
in the original finisher mori PTB they changed devour and racour to be hook instakills instead of moris. Rancour made it so the survivor would die on hook regardless of stages instead of mori, devour the same way.
-
not a big deal one way or the other. Whenever it happens to me I just tab out and watch some youtube, Which I'd be doing in queue/loading screens anyway. I do the same thing when the survivors wanna drag out the game sitting at the gates.
-
A killer with some kind of telekinesis/gravity power. I think it'd be neat if there was a killer that could set a black hole or something that gives them a set orbit around it but makes them move faster in it or something. if just messing with gravity it general.
-
Meta varies from region to region. In asian servers self-care is a very common staple meta perk, while in western servers its considered a waste of time. Im sure that there is some objectively best way to play but human nature dictates that it'll always vary from person to person. I.E. nurses calling could be a great pick in asian servers since people self care a lot while its pretty trash here.

I barely get tunneled but bring ds just in case. granted I'm pretty sure im a mid-low mmr survivor or something considering how rarely I see actual meta perks.

Chucky has a short dash thats not great and hes 110% why not blight
on live, chucky can fast vault and dash, getting free hits at most tiles. If blight could fast vault and then choose to dash he would be slower as well. With the scamper nerf chucky might deserve 115%.

Unless they decided to make make regression actually skill at this point in dbd most matches are just the killer trying to force trade for pop value all game and pain rez and grim so they need to adress that first mabe u need to be in chase with one for so long before regression perks activate. So people can just add 5 minutes to a match they don't even want to put effort into playing
pop, pain res, and grim embrace all require hooks (skill)
-
as far as I know filters are whitelist by bhvr just like communication apps (which give a far bigger advantage)

Not necessarily, you can just place it on the pallet and force you to move away... It is basically exactly the same, no prediction needed for this basic playstyle, it is just that artist is not limited to doing that.
thats the counterplay, its not fun but it is effective. plus her power is very easy to outplay at range, so a match with good survivors against a good artist boils down to holding W and predicting pathing.

If you can only "not struggle" with Nurse (pretty broken killer in the right hands) or Blight, you may be punching above your weight.
Gen regression is making your issue even worse. Because you're winning matches you should probably lose. The games you play shouldn't make you feel you have to use 3-4 specific perks. Dropping in MMR would be good for you.
They also, shouldn't be cakewalks. Which is probably the way it was prior to you getting back to back 3 and 4 man SWFs.
One side furthers their goal by 33% (4 hooks) and it undoes 20% of the other sides progress automatically-PR; gives away their position; while also locking out the other side from their goal for 44% of the base required time-GE; in addition to being locked out 22% of the base required time just for doing their goal-DL.
Surely, you can understand that stacking has gotten a tad excessive and unfun. Redoing the work already done without any interaction from the killer directly (I left POP out on purpose).
It's like the constant resets when green medkits and CoE were meta. It wasn't fun watching someone heal the damage you did in the time you stopped to swing at their prot hit soaking teammate. Adding a health state in under 8 seconds had to be removed (although, I think the nerf was a tad excessive) and understandably so.
pain res doesnt reveal location
-
its still good, just not clearly stronger than OTR. it could bear working on both hooks though.

My point is all aura reading is BS and shouldn't be in the game. It's a stupid mechanic and complete hand holding
I disagree, by this logic an exhaustion perk is handholding and should be removed. Most aura perks require a skilled action in reward for information. Information that requires skill to use effectively. Despite its clear similarities to popular cheats I believe it has a place in the game. This extends to survivor aura perks as well, though they are less powerful.
-
@Clee said:
Just remove Aura reading. Find a survivor like any decent killer does, without free wall hacks.
Equating hooking or downing a survivor with free is certainly a stretch. whats free is distortion giving you max stacks automatically. Also, if not auras or slowdown what are killers supposed to run?

Both will be overkill for his kit

don’t step on his trails then lol
this is true, but if I'm in a situation where I've only got the one pallet then I gotta choose between a faster down for a possible tunnel

I always find kinda interesting that people hate Knight while Artist does the same as him at loops but much better.
Knight: Go into a loop - use power - survivor goes into next loop as soon as he sees you using it - you have no power in next loop
Artist: Go into a loop - use power - survivor goes into next loop as soon as he sees you using it - use power again in next loop
In both of them if you stay on the loop you get hit by the power anyways.
you can outplay artist power, unlike knight. Both drop power and force you to leave but knight forces you to run in one direction since the guard will kill you if you guard while disabling looping for the hunt duration. Artist gets hits only if she predicts your movements etc.
-
I think artist is fine but pyramid head needs a tunneling nerf

no it doesn’t lmao he doesnt gain anything from it
he gains free tunnels by ignoring ds, otr, and basekit bt.
-
at this point, just remove all gen slowdown and make 200% ruin basekit and not a hex or something. Better than having the meta cycle itself out every few months.
-
I think he'll be fine. scamper+slice and dice had 0 counterplay, now hes just gotta play like a hug teching blight more often.

I'll give it 2 months till its back to 3 seconds and gives exhaustion. Once somethings too strong for survivors it's immediately blasted, Killers playing scream simulator blowing up a gen every 30 seconds with quad slowdown? Nah g that's fine leave it, oni lunging across the map carrying survivors cos of a bug? Fine bro say less, Blight "hug teching" walls exploiting a bug? All good we will fix it in a year and a half.
B-but wait survivors are abusing Kinetic Energy exploits to sauce Gens, we must killswitch it! BHVR have and seemingly will continue to hold Killer players hands and until the game is balanced fairly for both sides I'm happy to stay well away from playing both sides
- dead hard was unchanged for 5 years and was meta for 9 more months before becoming fair
- MFT was meta for 6 months
- drop tech, though niche, was unchanged for like 7 years
- its disingenuous to say the devs are holding the killers hands when they just nerfed every meta slowdown perk and removed camping+3 genning, while also adding basekit bt and removing facecamping. The devs help and hurt each side indiscriminately.
- if a gen was getting hit a pop, PR, dms, and grim embrace every 30s that is an absolute skill issue on the survivor end.
- you talk about the kinetic energy exploit like that was somehow unfair to killswitch? So blight techs are unfair but exploits on the survivor end are fine?
If the devs really favored killer then they'd remove all exhaustion perks and add 10 more seconds to each gen while bringing back gen kick meta. its not like DS is even bad now, 4 seconds is still fairly strong. fairly. like OTR is probably better but this aint trash.

They have to land a hit as an M1 Killer, generally considered their biggest weakness. Theres a reason m1 killers struggle in this game.
and you can just walk behind an object to stop wesker
