No. No where did I say you can do nothing and ruin will still work. The killer has to do very little however to get value that is extremely rewarding. Especially when paired with undying. Ruin does apply pressure for the killer. If not, killer has to stop and kick every gen. Ruin carries you in that aspect, making it a crutch.
I didnt say it was or wasn't a crutch.
Edit: nvm I thought you replied to me.

That can be argued that ruin applies the pressure for you. Making it a crutch perk.
Yes, but you first must apply gen pressure.

Cause it's a small pp build for killers. The hypocrisy comes in when killers defend this build which requires almost little to no effort to pull off successfully but then complain about survivor meta.
Small pp build rewards failure. With ruin, the killer is rewarded for applying pressure, and that's definitely not failure.

Popping a gen in front of the killer? that's a tunneling
Bringing object of obsession? oh you better believe that's a tunneling.
This made me laugh way to hard.

where's the " make him more fun to play as and against " part?
While I agree that PH isn't that good in his current state. I don't see these suggested changes making it to the game anytime soon. Survivors hate his ability because it leaves them with no choice. you either drop the pallet and get hit. or you keep holding W and also get hit. you either vault the window and get hit. or fake the vault and also get it. (excluding the free tunneling pass he has)
If anything. These changes will only increase the amounts of frustrated survivors asking for him to get nerfed.
(okay. now my opinion)
I like the " Route B " idea (except for twice as fast activation time. maybe instead give him add-ons that increase the activation time. but not make it base-kit). but because of what i wrote above. I can't see it happening anytime soon.
So to Compensate I guess. We can slow him down and make him move at something like 90% while in his POTD mode. And increase the cool-down for existing that mode without attacking (POTD). this will eliminate the reason why survivors hate going against them. and hopefully make your suggestion possible.
90%? Way too low. He doesn't need a nerf.

Gens are definitely not fast. So first of all, Please stop saying that. Killers can take out survivors just as fast if not faster! Moris combined with tunneling make the survivor experience dreadful. Every single time I play killer I annihilate the survivors. It’s not really balanced imo. Particularly on the smaller maps. It’s just too easy to catch people and down them. Killers suffer such minuscule penalty for missing attacks or after hits it makes it so you can down really quickly. Then comes the Snowball in favor of the killer. 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Judging by your account, you haven't been here long.

She is Rin Yamaoka.
It wouldve made more sense to just say spirit. And, to add to my statement, of course people are going to use a strong character, why wouldn't they? Plus, while I think she is a tad too powerful, she can still be countered. Of course that doesn't mean she shouldn't be nerfed, just that people should try harder.

Dude a survivor made a post asking for advice on how to counter a certain killer and he to shut it down due to backlash. You tend to have a more killer sided view which is cool whatever but in a killer sided forum that gets upvotes.
Its obvious unreasonable things get shutdown but there are comments or posts about how survivors want easy wins or dont want to change their playstyle? How about the comments that say survivors wanna bully killer in swf? That stuff doesnt get commented on its accepted.
People aren't upvoting you because the forum is biased, people aren't upvoting you because your viewpoints are flawed.

How would you make that happen? "as the chase persists the beast gets stronger as stronger" new effect rage if the chase lasts to 1 minute stun reduction is increased by 100% breaking pallets 50%. /s
All jokes aside I would like to know how would the killer win the chase guarenteed?
I didn't mean make him more powerful. I meant, in my opinion, the killer should usually win the chase.

I mean gens are quite boring and if in the chase you have no real chance to outplay is it really even a chase then? You should be able to escape it or it becomes an inevitable run to your doom.
I think, in my opinion, most chases should end with a killer win. The chase should be how long you last, not if you last.

@azame said:
Alright so after thinking about how when I bring up a killer that if the survivor plays good can beat in a 1v1 I'm always told it's a a 4v1 game. Here are the flaws.
Solo:
Ok so if some killers should only remain 4v1 countered like slinger or PH the average solo team would be losing. Solo is very unorganized how exactly is this fair?
Solo is notoriously weak/bad team wise and yet at the very least your own skills mean nothing in chase against some killers in chase. These leads to people wanting to play swf which when played optimally brings me to my next point.
Complaining:
If survivors play swf in a way that is optimal like splitting on gens killers will complain about gen speeds going fast. Which is fair they are pretty fast. My point being that these 4v1 killers have no real 1v1 counterplay so survivors are left to split the gen pressure.
Now survivors are moaned at for "gen rushing" or making the game too quick for killers. This leads me to my last point.
This or that:
It's either we play solo and struggle against these 4v1 killers or play in an optimal swf and moaned at for splitting on gens. Pick one these 4v1 killers encourage swf because swf is the best way to beat them rather than an unreliable solo team. Thats undeniable.
Anyways that's my thoughts stay hydrated.
Thats the problem. A killer should have his strength in a 1v1, and if the killer and survivor are both on equal terms, well, that's not really fair. I've always had an idea that multiple survivors should help in the chase. This idea wouldn't work if everybody had the same power level.

I have some advice.

What I'd want added:
A Bloodborne DLC (even though Sony would never let that happen) would be an instant buy, cosmetics and all. There're a lot of enemies they could use, from the werewolves to the brainsuckers to even the winter lanterns or bell maidens. Hell, they could make the Orphan of Kos the killer if they were creative enough.
The survivor could be the first non-named survivor as the player character from Bloodborne (maybe even have 2 genders to choose from like Legion) and the cosmetics could be the various armor sets you can acquire in the game. Would probably be hard to model them though, considering the proportion differences. Otherwise they could just use one of the chapel NPCs.
What I wouldn't want added:
Same with me, no FNAF/Springtrap. There's a certain cheapness to that series that I just don't think belongs in DbD. It's basically creepypasta tier, but even then some creepypastas are more interesting and iconic. I don't want a Chuck-E-Cheese lookin' ass in DbD.
I can understand why you might think they look goofy, but I'm sure the art team could whip up something cool. I've seen some terrifying fan art of springtrap before.

This is a bit unrelated but nice job chaining those 2 loops together. The devs really gotta smooth those hit interactions out, Especially on characters like Freddy.
Freddys lunge is the same is all others. It does look weird but unfortunately to fix that they would have to give him a shorter lunge.

I was playing as blight and went against a no mither, it was impossible to slug/win the game. I am asking the devs to either nerf or ban no mither due to it being unfair towards killers who want to have fun. I was just sitting down playing some blight when this david had no mither which he must of been hacking due to that perk being level 3. I am really sick and tired of facing overpowered no mithers and hackers. Please fix this devs, thank you.

Tunneling is when you purposely attack only one survivor and no one else.

Well, I can only speak for my own experience. And my own experience gives me the conclusion that those Bugs are pretty rare. This does not mean that they should not be fixed, but that Killer is not unplayable because of those Bugs.
And furthermore, it would not be surprising if players, who claim to ALWAYS play against 4 man SWFs which are ALWAYS godlike Survivors and ALWAYS use DS on them if they are NEVER tunneling, that those players are also a little bit exaggerating how frequent those Bugs are.
I think it comes down to exterior factors aswell. I might get it alot, but you dont, so that could mean I might have a lower ping than you or something else. I don't think killer is unplayable, far from it, but I do believe, along with the ds bug, it should be a higher priority.

Same here. I never experienced the Hook-Bug in any of my games as Killer. And currently playing a lot of Killer, because I am prestiging Blight.
I experienced the Hook-Bug as Survivor exactly once. Killer was able to drop me and hook me just fine afterwards.
The DS/Stun-Bug on the other hand...
Just because it doesnt happen to you doesnt mean it doesn't happen. It happens to me at least three times a game. If my post sounded aggressive I didnt mean for it.

Added/Not Added, What Would It Be And Why?
What I Want Added:
Personally, I would love to see Chucky as a killer, he already has the strength of a normal man, and it would be cool to see new animations for bringing a survivor to hook. Also throwing them on the hook.
What I Don't Want Added:
Springtrap. After the whole fake FNAF trailer fiasco, it kinda just flooded the forums for a good week. I can't imagine what would happen if it was real. I also would wanna wait till the FNAF games/movies/books are done being released. Because the lore for the franchise isn't even over yet.
And thank you for being civil about springtrap. I hate the "it's for kids" argument.
-
Probably Springtrap. His backstory is dark enough.

I'm still 100% sold on Unstoppable having a small tell so people could play around it, either by stealthing or pre-dropping pallets. Other than that I dunno, basically all of these perks would have to be playtested to determine the number sweetspots.

Much better, though some might actually be a bit too weak now lmao. How about this?
Unstoppable: Remove the speed penalty, makes looping way easier which seems to be what you're trying to prevent.
On A Mission: 60% faster animation to all breaking actions actions + vaulting, Currently its just kinda better brutal strength but only for chasing one specific survivor.
Man Of Steel: Good, actually would be pretty meta.
Alright, fixed it.

Yeah that's the issue with the chase mechanic in general. If that was polished then a cooldown would definitely work. Maybe having that speed boost would help avoid the issue but who knows.
Would my most recent edit work?

I still think Unstoppable would be fine if it simply had a visual/audio tell when active. The speed nerf does make it have interesting synergy with On a Mission, though On a Mission itself seems too good for tunneling the obsession. Generally speaking speed bonuses without a real downside (like PWYF) are no bueno. I could imagine an Unstoppable + On a Mission + Nemesis build that'd be pretty fun though.
Maybe if On a Mission had a small cooldown (or made it so you have to chase someone else first if you lose chase the first time to reset it) so you can counterplay it by losing chase it'd be good. Would make it a "get the first hit/pallet drop in easier" perk rather than "obsession gets screwed no matter what" perk.
Man of Steel we'd just have to see.
I would like to add the cool down as that sounds great, but I think chase breaks too easily rn. I break LOS for a second and the chase is ended. I made it a little different instead.
-
@SCP_FOR_DBD said:
Heres my thoughts.
Unstoppable: Seems a little too strong, I'd say that stuns are simply 50% less effective rather than being outright negated, cause this is a little too much.
On A Mission: Really not a fan of this one, its basically just "Whenever you get into a chase with the obsession you win" theres really not much to do if your the obsession, your just kinda boned. Especially with Nemesis.
Man Of Steel: Seems like a little too much, the time saved on actions is massive and the extra downing power at stuff like windows really hits it home. I think making it 20% might be a little better.
Is that a little better?
