I won't play Nurse or Billy. They're too OP.
I won't buy killers like Kaneki or Blight for the same reason.
-
If the RECENT complaints are loud enough that you're questioning them, then the PREVIOUS complaints weren't as "universal" as you're making them out to be. Pick a lane.
-
They're already playing survivor, how much MORE do you want to punish them??

Do you think we'd see the same result if they just removed the 4% and left it at that? I think the additional layer they added on was overkill myself.
That's what I would have done. You can't prevent people from giving up, but you can remove the mechanic that has no purpose except as a "Go Next Easy Button" at the very least.
-
Were you having impure thoughts while playing? WERE YOU?
-
I would love to have a "History" option on the main menu, which would effectively show the end-game screen for the past N matches. (3? 5? 10?)
If I'm the first person tunneled out, I would like to go back and see if my teammates managed to escape, but I don't want to have to sit in Spectator mode the whole time, waiting.
Plus, you know, the stuff you said about perks
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
Had my preset names and the perks themselves be reset twice now. Happened once a few weeks back and again with the Sinister Grace update. Kinda annoying.
Same, but I thought I had done something wrong (I was messing around with cross-progression at the time.) to cause my loadouts to reset. Good to know it wasn't (just) me. :)
-
Also, remove Sadako's jump scares. It was fun for awhile, but I just want to work on my build in peace.
-
I'd be down for anything that gives us more access to perks, but AT THE VERY LEAST can we stop putting things like Balanced Landing or Dead Hard in the shrine?? They're already free so it's tremendously wasteful to blow Iri shards on those.
Heck, even if we had an option to buy the perks (without buying the associated killer/survivor) with auric cells, it would be preferable. I want all the perks, but I need another survivor like I need a hole in my head.
-
The art in this game (from both BHVR and the community) is consistently top notch. Say what you will about the Krasue, but did you see that opening cinematic?! It was amazing!

The current kill rate isn’t even that low for killers playing against 4-man SWF at high MMR, where you have to sweat your a** off and play only the highest tier killers to get more than 1-2 kills. So you would only be happy if the overall average game for average killers is even more difficult than that?
I have no doubt that this is what you want, but players who actually play both sides understand what a disaster that would be and that’s why the game is balanced around an overall average 60% kill rate. This is gonna make people stop DCing SOOOO MUCH you guys
-
Is this "too punishing for killers"?
-
I'll just use my psychic powers to communicate with my solo queue teammates that I need a bodyblock, and…
I managed to start winning in the asylum map, and had decided to finally slug for 4k
Oh, I thought slugging wasn't a problem and it was only used as a last resort for when you were facing a coordinated SWF.
Good to know I was right all along.

those were too big for m1 killers without mobility and since they added more pallets to those its fine tbfr
M1 killers are like the "solo queue" of the killer roster. Way weaker than normal.
The difference is that, if a change affects actual solo queue in a negative way, no one cares.
If an M1 killer stands to get nerfed, they cancel an entire PTB's worth of changes. Or they just buff all killers to compensate. (e.g. making maps smaller)
-
Dear BHVR,
When I said I wished that we had more agency in solo queue, THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT. I respect Brisingr's opinion, but I disagree that being able to throw and screw your team counts as "agency".
I just wanted to clarify. Thank you for your time.

Can we please give it more time for people to learn more about her before asking for nerfs?
Last time when Springtrap were released so many people telling he's broken and needs nerf, then a month pass somehow people agree he's just mid-tier.
I think the same's going with Krasur. IMO she's about just as strong as Singularity, only easier to play. If you think Singularity is okay, she's probably okay too.
Exactly. At least wait until Friday, THEN nerf her. If that's long enough for the PTB, it should be good here.

Killers who are going to tunnel already know who to tunnel. There was never any good reason to hide in anyway.
It's SUCH a bad look to keep that part of that PTB. They are so bad at PR.
I agree, it's not going to affect tunneling in any significant way, but it's going to affect the already-terrible DC rate. Throwing fuel on that particular fire is a huge own-goal for BHVR.

No offense but otz and scott are not top-level players. Ask the comp survivors for advice not people who while they play a lot are nowhere near the level of the likes of idk knightlight, xeno or the like.
I mean, feel free to ask them and come back when you have something?
-
Scott Jund or Otz or someone said, in a recent video, that it's not really viable alone. Too hard to hit the skillchecks consistently.
I knew I couldn't hit them, but it's nice to know that even top-level players can't do it, for the most part.
-
There's a saying: A good plan today is better than a GREAT plan tomorrow.
Every day that goes by without a fix is causing more people to DC (see the many videos from Scott Jund, et al, or see the many threads here complaining about it) or just leave the game entirely.
I was worried about the state of the game, but it turns out that every day that goes by also reduces my giving a #########. I have other games to play, and BHVR doesn't pay my bills, so…
-
Here is the tldr for the OP:
I don't play survivor
-
Or make the animation match the actual duration. Have them hop out, and then tack on an extra half-second of them doing the cabbage patch or something
-

A camouflage killer than can blend into the environment like a chameleon, and/or a killer that can climb walls/objects(probably not possible with the game’s limitations but it would be cool nonetheless).
For licenses I’d love to see terminator, or maybe lady dimitrescu
So, Wraith?

I'm am aware of those combinations with those killers and Thantophobia. It doesn't help them that much either.
20% penalty from Thantophobia which everyone can just find fountains for plague and boom, everyone is healed to normal, bye bye bonus. Legion has it better in that regard, some maps just ruin legion though. Ghoul is well, Ghoul until the devs nerf that guy which I imagine will be not that far along now.The perk is obsolete until they can find a way to keep it relevant longer in a match and doesn't get turned off easily by skilled survivors or just rendered useless by games that are over way to quickly.
Killer: Don't like X? Just bring perk Y to counter it!
Survivors: <bring Y>
Triglav: Ok, but now am I supposed to do X?!?!?!
-
Solo queue: This game is miserable.
Killer: Just coordinate!
SWF: <coordinates>
Killer: We need to nerf that.
-
Every fall is a guaranteed hit for killer if you don't have balanced landing. You stagger, they don't.
BL basically just avoids that. The fact that they can catch up doesn't negate the fact that they haven't hit you yet.
-
You're going to be getting iri shards anyway, so why not burn the "free" currency before resorting to your wallet?
-
BHVR: Let's try to stop tunneling. It's too strong.
Top Tier Killers: That's too punishing. Revert it.
Lesser Killers: Ooh, that "tunneling" IS strong! They were right!
That's why you're seeing so much of it, now.
-
Seconded. Great suggestion.

I would like to see direct answer on my post rather then a rhetorical question.
Why is tunneling special?
You beat me to it. :)
-
If you stay home and never go to the grocery store, you'll starve. If you drive to the store, you could get hit by a drunk driver and die.
We don't consider drunk drivers a "risk" of driving to the store because the alternative (starving to death) is just as bad. If you'll die either way, you're not "risking" some better outcome. Google the term "free roll" as it applies to (for example) Poker
If you "can't" win unless you tunnel, then the outcome is a loss. If you tunnel and fail, the outcome is a loss. You're not "risking" a better outcome because (just like the grocery example above) you're dead anyway.
If you define risk as "Any bad thing could happen." then that's useless for most purposes, but specifically DBD and games discussion in general.
-
This is a good point. Getting the first kill of a match is not the same amount of effort as getting the final kill of a match, especially given how killers can snowball.
-
Distracting the killer with noise is a legit strategy. Sometimes it's more important to do that than a generator.
If there's no "Survivor Rulebook" and it's ok to slug and tunnel, then it's definitely not fair for you to start a "Killer Rulebook", right?
-
I'm sure the guy with 2 posts REALLY REALLY can't figure out why people hate being slugged for minutes at a time. Totally asking in good faith.
-
I still wouldn't use them. I can't just spend a charge, see a cross-map gen, and immediately know where it is. I'm going to have to spend ANOTHER charge when I get close enough to reorient myself. It can take 1/3 of a map to find a SINGLE one.
If you're looking for Hex totems, then I can see limiting the auras that maps can reveal, but it's not OP to just tell survivors basic info like where their objective is.
I have literally thousands of medkits. If an item is less useful than a heal, it will never be used.
Also, the "Beam of light" thing should be basekit for survivors, no map needed.
-
It feels like they didn't give the updates a fighting chance. They gave up before we even reached the weekend!
Even if they had already made up their minds, it would have been better PR to wait until Monday morning.
-
I believe that each killer DOES have its own separate MMR, but when you purchase a new killer, it takes the current average* of all your existing killers and uses that to assign an "MMR" to that new one. I agree that this is an actual example of being "too punishing for killer" and they should give you some breathing room when you're first learning a new power.
*It may not be an actual "average" but they use some algorithm or something…

1/20 isn't 60/40 or 50/50. Your team is at the low end of the bell curve. If BHVR decided to make it 50/50, like this was some synchronous PvP game, it wouldn't suddenly make your team better.
60/40 or 50/50 does not mean you are guaranteed an escape in so many games. Because it's not just you but thousands of other survivors that make up that stat. Your "team" lost 19 games was balanced out by someone else's team escaping 23 times.
That's not remotely close to how MMR works.
If I lose a game, it's not cancelled out by someone else winning. It's cancelled out by losing MMR, facing an easier opponent, and WINNING AGAINST THEM.
Obviously, the current MMR doesn't work, and that's why you get 19 4Ks in a row, but no that's not "normal" or good.
@PetTheDoggo said:
50/50 would mean killer is mostly losing. Basically kill rate and win rate is something different.
Two killers can have same kill rate, but have different win rates, because it depends on their expected outcome of the match for loss/win.
Some killers are really good at securing 1k, so their kill rate is going to be higher, but it's still a loss.
Also mobility killers are more likely to get 4k, because they have easier time to find hatch/defend gate.
50/50 would make sense for win rate, not kill rate. I think 50% win rate was in real statistics equal to 57.5% +/- .Some killers are really good at securing 1k, so their kill rate is going to be higher, but it's still a loss.
No, it's 1/4th of a win. You still beat someone. 0K, sure, that's a loss, but if Survivors have to suck it up when they get tunneled out and accept the cold comfort of their teammates escaping, then Killers have to suck it up and accept a 1K occasionally.
Neither one feels great, but the player who literally got kicked out of the game does have a SLIGHTLY more valid complaint…
-
playing high MMR against 4-man SWF - has an average kill rate of 52%.
So you're still winning most of the time against them, right?
No one (that I'm aware of) said "4K or I uninstall" but we have people IN THIS THREAD saying that anything less than 3K is a LOSS FOR KILLER. The person I was responding to literally said "Good luck keeping any killer players in the game if that happens." in response to the suggestion that they settle for a 2K
So, it's at the very least an implied "3K or I uninstall" without leaving this very page.
-
you should try solo q for a bit though
Woah, woah, you can disagree with someone without wishing them harm. ;)
-
Maybe we shouldn't cater to players who play on console AND desperately want to chat AND don't have a keyboard AND will get confused and angry about typing speeds?
I'm not saying they don't exist, but it is a bit of an edge case.
-
I don't think you need to worry, but I'm also not going to tell you to keep playing a game you're not enjoying.
But… the end result of the latest PTB (all survivor buffs delayed indefinitely) was "disheartening" for a lot of survivor mains. If it turns out that even the suggestion that they might have to change their playstyle causes killer mains to quit, TOO…?
That's an lmao
-
As much as I complain about solo queue, even I admit that Legion is… kinda weak.

@CLHL said:
You could give bazookas to the survivors and the situation wouldn't change one bit. The main problem is that the average survivor is terrible, because the game never teaches you how to improve or anything useful. This must be one of the few games where you can invest thousands of hours without learning anything at all. No change in the game will turn you into that player who loops the killer for several gens.
If survivors were forced to take an active part in the match and there were no escapes where you repair a couple of gens and walk out the gates without even seeing the killer, there would be many survivors who would absolutely never win. The only difference between SoloQ and SWF is that you don't choose who you play with, so it's quite likely that you'll end up with bad players, since they're the vast majority. And as I said, you can give them bazookas, but it won't change anything.
"The situation" isn't even necessarily a low escape rate. It's a lack of agency and fun.
Even if they gave us bazookas that didn't make us win more, at least we'd have something to do other than hold M1…

Every other crossplatform game I played on Xbox has chat enabled. Even Rocket League lmao.
I was specifically thinking of Rocket League. I don't play on console, but I thought it didn't have chat. My bad.
Maybe when you chat on XBox I can't see it on PC? Maybe that's what I was thinking of?
I still imagine the problem is Microsoft, but I admit my claim is a lot more unreliable now. ;)
-
The 5000 BP per level you get after completing the pass is a HILARIOUSLY low amount. If you average it out over each match, that's gotta be like < a 1% bonus.
