I've had quite a few matches where I'm the only one (or in 2swf we're the only ones) running the offering. There's a few reasons I can think of for why people aren't using them.
First there isn't many in the bloodwebs. I've had a ridiculous amount of bloodwebs with 0 event anything and even more with no event offerings. Players just aren't getting the offerings to play.
Second there are players that purposely avoid the offerings because they can't use them after the event is over. So those players don't even have the offerings to use.
Third there are players who don't understand all the increased BP they're getting even if they are camped. This isn't like the anniversary or Halloween events where you play an offering but then get 0 BP if you're unlucky enough to get caught first and camped, and in case of anniversary get frustrated you added stacked BP to the killer that's camping you. In this event you actually get BP while on hook when your teammates complete gens (yay!) or grab your envelope. While the event offering can feel wasted in other events when you're stuck on hook in this one you're actually make out decent. They also don't realize how much the event BP is increased with an offering. It just says "increased event BP" not "double/triple event BP." It's too vague for casual players to fully understand what they're missing out on.

I do. Honestly, I'd much rather be tunneled.
At least I can get some looping practice.
Being camped? Eh. It depends.
Someone DCs? Now what do I do? If I'm on survivor, I have to play out what will, at best, be an elongated and tedious loss. If I'm on killer I now get to play out an elongated and tedious win.
Especially since <redacted> streamer has been using that frigging <redacted> exploit to avoid AFK crows, now everyone knows how to do it so you're almost guaranteed to get 2 survivors hiding in lockers at random parts of the map trying to be the last one alive/trying to be annoying and what would have been an 8 minute game now takes 38 minutes.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3330383#Comment_3330383
This. It's...so frigging stupid that I literally see people fighting over unhooks or dusting perfectly good dull totems that could be booned for the sake of archives or pips.
I will say this though.
AFK killer? I make a little groaning noise and just get out.
2 Survivors doing 'gains' somewhere in a random LT wall/room respectively to stall the game out for 20 additional minutes? That makes me want to punch the entire internet on principle.
Yes, this just happened to me. And they clearly intended to do it, bringing Distortion/Iron Will/Calm Spirit.
Unfortunately both sides have players that go into a match with the sole purpose of trying to ruin it for the others - leads to stupid vicious circle of "my last match they made me feel bad so I'm going to take it out on the player(s) in my next match." It makes the negative pips more frustrating for both sides - you go in against someone that just wants you to have a miserable time and the game rewards you with negative pips for dealing with it.
-
They didn't kill switch maps anytime they've had uncleansable totems that made it so killer never lost their hex like Devour Hope. They didn't kill switch Oni when he was getting way more blood orbs than he was supposed to. They're not going to kill switch Sloppy or Mangled effect.
-
As survivor at higher grades to pip you pretty much need to do 2 gens, 2 unhooks, 2 heals, 2 decent chases, and 2 totems. Hard enough when you need to split that with 3 others but add in survivors quitting/throwing for challenges/sandbagging or killers playing in a way that completely prevents you from getting points/being AFK and it can put you in a bad head space.
Getting an unfun match where you're tunneled/camped/slugged and already barely getting BP to then be slapped with a negative pip is pretty frustrating. Whenever I have back to back negative pip matches or unfun matches I turn off the game and go play something else instead of just getting more and more frustrated from losing progress.
They should remove negative pips and just have safety, +1, and +2. Also should do something about killer powers like Victor not awarding chase points. It's pretty ridiculous you could distract the killer that is controlling Victor for 5 gens but get 0 points because the game thinks you were just running around doing nothing - I have complained about this since the Twins were released.

Looks like they fixed the missing log in reward from yesterday. I got 2 50k BP log in rewards today, one earlier and one when I logged back in after this announcement.

They're enjoying watching the squirrels play in the snow.
Dante won't let me touch him but he does this thing where if I'm holding Darryl he will come over and play(?) attack my knee.

I play on PC via Steam, so it doesn't appear to be a console-based issue. I wonder if many other players didn't get the reward, too?
Do you remember getting the login reward yesterday? Today is the first day of the event in which I've noticed I didn't get it (I'm almost certain I got the bloodpoints yesterday), so I'm curious to see what will happen tomorrow. 50k is a decent amount of bloodpoints to miss out on, so hopefully, the reward will work tomorrow.
I got it yesterday when I logged in so today is the only day I didn't get the log in reward. I'll make a bug report and see if anyone up votes it there plus less likely to be buried like in general discussions.

Yeah, I didn't get the login BP bonus today, either. I'm glad to see somebody else bring the topic up, as I was starting to think I was misremembering things about the event giving a login bonus each day.
OK, glad to see it wasn't just me. I'm on PS4, what platform are you on?

While I am glad they finally said something about the time limited cosmetics it doesn't change there is still alot wrong with them.
The "did not have an opportunity to announce this" makes no sense to me. Why start something, do it for 3 events worth of "time limited" cosmetics, and not "have an opportunity" to clarify anything until 2 days after the most recent time limited outfits were released - 2 days worth of players buying that could've waited for them to be available for iri shards. Sure, it's nice they've finally decided to clarify that they'll be available for shards when they come back but there's no way there was no "opportunity" to start clarifying this information 4 months ago when they decided to start making cosmetics in the store time limited.
There's nothing about the fact that quite a few of these "seasonal" cosmetics are year round cosmetics that just happen to be released in a seasonal collection. There's nothing about the fact they're removing cosmetic options for already low picked characters making it less likely new players will pick them up which also makes it less likely they'll get more cosmetics in the future.
-
I really hope they don't remove any ground cover on forest or swamp maps with rework. I love those maps when I'm playing Trapper because I have so many options for where I can leave traps. I'm really worried reworks will be another nerf to Trapper.
-
So killer mains can complete the Happy Holidays achievement for opening mystery boxes in the blood web during events.
-
My solo q experience is still the same as it was before the icons, now I just have confirmation my teammates are doing nothing. I'm running Kindred and I'm still being left in first hook to die when my teammates can both see the aura of someone running around across the map and see they have the chase icon going. When I do get saved I also still have multiple people coming when they can see each others aura and that no one is on gens.
The icons aren't all of a sudden making solo same level as swf because in solo q the mentality is still every one looking out for themselves.
-
Could also be forest that gets rework since that hasn't been reworked either.
My biggest worry about the perk update is them nerfing perks that are in a good place just because they have high pick rate. It happened during first perk update, there were a bunch on both sides that got ridiculous nerfs when they were in a good spot just to make people not use them. I'm glad they're doing something about Eruption but I am nervous to see what perks get unnecessary nerfs or what low use perks get a ridiculous buff.
DBD mobile already has a visual terror radius so I'm really not too concerned about this. I'm hoping they'll add a killer FOV slider so there's some accessibility on that side.
I'm hoping for map pick rate they make it so you're guaranteed to not go to last realm you had a match in. Maybe change map offerings to guarantee not going to a specific realm - if certain ones are played often then obviously that realm should be looked at if players don't want to go there.
-
@Pulsar said:
It's funny that somehow console got the short end of the stick when it comes to these wiggle changes.
It's VERY difficult to deal with on console.
Remember with realm beyond updates when they said they were taking "special consideration" when it came to console performance? I feel like when they say they do things for console it ends out being worse for us. 😂
-
On patch day it was on killer for me, popped over to survivor a few times. I think because so many wanted to see the survivor HUD on patch day. Once event started it went back over to survivor and stayed.
-
I hope with the perk update they don't just nerf a perk that's in a good spot but used alot just so players stop using it. That was a problem with the first meta shake up perk update - alot of perks that were in a good spot were nerfed just to lower the pick rate.
-
I'm happy they are finally doing something about being sent to same map in back to back matches. I'm also happy to see that they are adding more accessibility to the game, in this case the visual terror radius.
Time limited cosmetics section is pretty ridiculous. "Never had opportunity to announce these cosmetics"??? Cosmetics are planned MONTHS in advance. They had questions on time limited cosmetics on atleast TWO different surveys. It's been 4 months and we've had 2 mid chapter patches and a chapter patch since they started doing time limited cosmetics. BHVR doesn't put out many announcements, how exactly did they "never" have the "opportunity" to announce these?
The time limited cosmetics section also doesn't address how by removing cosmetics for characters that already don't have many (Jeff, Yui, Zarina, Yun Jin, Elodie, Jonah, etc) doesn't incentivise new players to play these characters. They'll come in, see the characters that are played often still have over 100 cosmetic options even with outfits removed as time limited meanwhile these other characters with already limited selection barely have any. Why wouldn't someone choose Feng who gets 4 cosmetics at a time while other characters get maybe 1 cosmetic a year.
The "make seasonal cosmetics feel special" is a lame excuse when removing cosmetics that just happened to be part of a "seasonal" collection but are definitely something worn year round. Dwelf is obviously a Christmas cosmetic but the pj's like Mikaelas are a year round cosmetic that are also mix/matched with other year round cosmetics.
-
Lunar New Year event is the only one I really enjoy. It's the one event I look forward to because it's so well done. I think it's the best for how BP is handled. You can see your envelope at the start and once you claim it everyone else can see it - there's no wasting time searching for the event stuff and you can continue playing the game normal. You don't have to be on a gen to earn event BP so there's no missing out on event BP as long as you're in the match. There's no frustration because you were chased off 90% gen and someone finished it while you're mid chase so you missed out on BP. Survivors don't feel like they need to gen rush to avoid that situation so games don't feel as sweaty as other events. One side doesn't have some advantage over the other when it comes to participating in the event. My only complaint is lack of offerings/event items in the bloodwebs - it's the one thing they need to improve.
If they had other events that matched Lunar New Year I'd be all for it but the other events I get tired of how sweaty they feel pretty quick so I would not want more of those.
-
I can tell it's a console killer with the new wiggle because without running BO the killers for the most part have no trouble getting me to the hook - it almost feels like wiggling does nothing except when it's console and they have trouble getting through a doorway. If BO wiggle is that bad for players on mouse and keyboard it must be a nightmare for the killers on console.
It's not surprising it's terrible, plenty of us said this was a bad idea and they should do something else. I said just make the skill checks give extra BP for greats but leave wiggle normal.
-
I feel like this and pop up for rift fragment log in rewards are two things we've been asking for since they became a thing and I don't get why something still hasn't been implemented for either. They could have a section in the archives of "event rewards" to help track what you have earned and even look back at what you did/didn't earn in past events so if they do come back you know what you are/aren't missing.
-
Any build with Knock Out - killer most times is doing slug until bleed out. It's not fun and just a waste of my time.
-
So Jeff and Yui that already have a small amount of cosmetics available are having outfits vaulted. That's definitely going to encourage new players to pick them up when they see they have even less cosmetic options thanks to this new make everything including old cosmetics time limited.
-
This is such a bummer. I wish they'd stop removing ways survivors earn BP. I get they think it's a small amount and no big deal but it adds up. Also removed the one positive thing about getting carried to a hook - atleast you got BP.
-
Agreed, it'd be nice to be able to skip it. Can still play it in the match for those still in it, just let me move onto my next game faster. If as last survivor I'm missing out on struggle BP because "don't want to waste time and move you onto next match faster" then why do I have to sit through an animation that got old pretty quick instead of skipping it and moving on even faster.
-
@Pulsar said:
My question is why Wiggling doesn't give you BP anymore.
Kinda ridiculous that they decided Survivor needed less BP
This. This is such a bummer. I feel like survivors constantly get ways to earn BP taken away - first was ending struggle on hook because you're last survivor, then it was ending struggle on hook because other survivors were hooked, and now it's removing wiggle BP.
-
I'm running Kindred and still getting left on first hook to die. The icons are nice QOL and I'm glad they're there but there's alot of survivor players that do not use information that's given to them. I do like having a visual confirming teammates just not doing anything.
I played 10 matches today, in 5 of them the killer was farming and letting everyone go so hard to fully judge how impactful the icons are. In the 5 matches killers played serious I really didn't notice a difference, just visual confirmation teammates weren't doing anything. One match where I was one of two survivors left and we had two gens left - they were definitely planning to do nothing and wait for me to die but after a bit of me attempting a gen they FINALLY decided to hop on a gen across the map. I got my gen done but ended up dying, had they not waited so long probably could've gotten both gens done but they spent more time watching my icon pop on/off.
Please no on Bond basekit. 99% of the time I play with someone running Bond they are using it to sandbag teammates - I'd rather they need to use a perk slot to screw over their teammates.

From the 20 or so games I’ve used it in the past couple days, Huntress is the main issue. A common build has Lethal, BBQ, and then 1 or 2 others like Bitter Murmur, NTH, AA… and shes tricky to recharge with.
Wait until you play v a Wraith with aura add on. Can't even recharge your tokens because no terror radius while cloaked. 😂
-
I think Distortion is in a good spot. When I can't get tokens back fast enough I atleast have an idea what perks the killers are running.

Only change listed is they're adding gen repair progress the survivor icon info which will come at later date
Where does it say that it will come at a later date? All i can see is that they decided to add it but no more details than that so i would assume it's a change from the PTB?
In any case, the change is great for Adrenaline, because you will be able to predict when it will go off.

It'd be nice if there were different game modes based on different matchmaking choices. SBMM, Perk based, Emblem based... Let the players choose the mode they feel has the most fun match making.
-
1. Thanks to the tutorial I thought you were supposed to try and unhook yourself every time. I was a 2 hook survivor for awhile. 😂
2. I didn't know why sometimes when I was unhooked in killers face I could get hit and need to mend while other times I'd just be downed. Had no idea it was a perk. I thought it was some weird timing thing of unhooking in front of the killer you were supposed to do. So I'd unhook people in killers face and if the killer downed them I'd think "huh, must've got the timing wrong." 😂
-
The meta isn't going to change as long as the game is complete gens to escape and kill survivors. All the shake up did was make one perk useless but then buff another perk that would basically do what the old perk did in a slightly different way. Ruin/Undying/Pop are gone and instead we have Eruption/CoB/Overcharge. DS isn't used anymore, instead it's OTR.
Could introduce new game modes but they'd all end up with same problem of having a meta...but atleast you could alternate what meta you'd be playing with/against.
-
The space below the characters being so large compared to everything else in the HUD. It just looks awkward, especially when you don't have an item equipped. The old layout not only did I find it more user friendly having the character info across the bottom but the power/item was on top so if as survivor you didn't have an item it didn't look like a weird spot for empty space, just had one less thing blocking your fov. It really is just unnecessary to have the power/item so big while useful info like the character portraits feels like they're half the size in comparison.
The character portraits being colored instead of black/white Adept pic. Think the Adept pic would just look better and feel more DBD. The colored portraits just make it feel more like a generic game.
-
I think it's great they are bringing back previous event cosmetics. I think all event, rift, and prime cosmetics should be available for purchase 6 months later. I say this as someone that has all of these cosmetics that I've earned since I started playing in fall of 2018.
I main Zarina she has 3 rift cosmetics and 3 event heads. I want them all available year round in the shop so players, especially new players, see she has options and will have incentive to start playing her more. A new player coming in and seeing Dwight, Feng, and Meg with over 100 cosmetic options while characters like Zarina, Jeff and Adam have less than 60 will make it extremely unlikely the new player will bother playing Zarina, Jeff or Adam - which leads to them getting pushed aside when it comes to new cosmetic releases while Dwight, Feng, and Meg get more added to their already large collection.
-
Overcharge. Not only does it increase regression but survivors will still get the difficult skill check when a gen reaches 0%.
Surveillance just let's you know once a survivor has hopped back on a regressing gen BUT only if it hasn't regressed to 0%.
-
There is a bug with self unhooks where a survivor kobes but instead of only being down 1 hook state they will be down 2. Usually it's survivors complaining about it because they'll self unhook in a match, get downed and then die on their next hook instead of going into struggle. I'm guessing when this happens normally killers get the scoring event but don't notice since it's midmatch where it's not a big deal but in your case it was EGC last survivor where it was noticeable.

For everyone saying 'but she's chinese' or 'cause she's popular':
It's lunar new year. The chinese celebration version is the most popular in the west, but it's still the LUNAR new year, celebrated in China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Mongolia.
While we don't have survivors from Vietnam or Mongolia, we do have Yui, Yoichi (albeit he's licensed) and Jake.
Also Feng is getting at least TWO outfits at once for the event (counting the prime one). And if leaks are to be trusted she's a secondary character in the next tome, that's 3 outfits regardless if two are recolours.
I'd say Feng can go the entire year of the rabbit without any new cosmetics after this.
Forgot about Yun Jin.
Also Feng already has a Lunar New Year outfit from couple years ago and Lunar New Year shirt.

If you're getting charged sales tax when making purchases in the Playstation Store, like buying auric cells to use in the in game store, then you'd need to contact Playstation support. BHVR has no control over fees/taxes that Playstation includes in purchases through Playstation Store.
-
@ChipaChip said:
I can understand people complaining about their character not getting some love, but I don't understand people complaining about a character getting a skin.
Because BHVR only budgets for a certain amount of cosmetics per year. One character getting most of the cosmetics means other characters aren't getting cosmetics.
For easy example let's pretend there are only 12 characters in DBD for easy math example. BHVR budgets for 12 skins total but instead of giving each character 1 cosmetic they instead focus on 1 character, in this case Feng. They decide to give her 6 cosmetics leaving only 6 cosmetics in the budget to be split amongst the others which means atleast 6 characters are getting 0 cosmetics.
-
Which Feng skin? The one that came out today for this months Prime cosmetic or the one they announced today for the Lunar Event?

Their last game was predator hunting grounds which on its own makes me worried for this (For reference I love F13th the game)
Chainsaw massacre is probably going to be super unbalanced but not in a fun way like F13th due to having 3 killers. Though I can’t say anything for sure
Gun had nothing to do with Predator Hunting Grounds, that was Illfonic as dev and Sony as publisher.
-
On the 24th is when the envelopes and lanterns will start, they'll come in with the event.
The event code is usually in the patch that comes out just before the event, which in this case will be the mid chapter patch.
-
I'm just happy Knock Out isn't going to become a general perk.
-
Deleting Knock Out would be my dream. I've said before if they won't delete it then they should change Knock Out to apply the effects when a survivor is injured and have it last until the survivor is downed or healed. This change would make it so it's not longer used to grief solos with slug until bleedout builds and would counter aura reading perks while in a chase.
Kobes should really only be a last resort thing, like multiple survivors are hooked at once so entity is stepping in to give survivors some hope that it can feed off of. Outside that it really is an unnecessary mechanic and if they got rid of Kobes it could finally be removed from the tutorial so new players don't think they're supposed to attempt escape and be a 2 hook survivor.
If they won't remove the useless stuff atleast have an option to trade them in. Luck is completely useless but I have a ridiculous amount of luck offerings and that's with me trying to avoid them.
No Mither is mostly used as either a meme that sabos the team or as a bully squad avoiding being hooked. It can definitely go. We have perk bloat and there's alot of perks that could definitely go and they won't be missed.
Hook grabs should go, or at the very least hook grabs on healthy survivors. Make it so unhooked survivor loses collision so killer has a better chance at downing the unhooker.
-
If I could I would trade in every luck, fog, shroud, basement, hatch, and single category BP offering that I have in my inventory.
-
Removing the stacks from BBQ was an unnecessary terrible decision. It's not even a matter of needing or wanting BP, it just felt good knowing you were increasing your BP from the match from doing your objective.
It was a well balanced killer perk that encouraged killer to not camp (show auras for where to go for next survivor), tunnel (go after new survivor to get stack), or slug (need to hook survivor to get value, don't want to lose them or have them bleed out). It also had multiple counters for the aura reading.
The only change I could've seen them make that would've been OK would be something like increase number of tokens to 8 so 2 hook every survivor and make it so you had to hook a different survivor from last - so no hooking survivor you just hooked.

Okay, so reading back on the official game announcement, I guess I did see (in small print) that this collection, along with others, were leaving. Perhaps I should've read the full announcement before leaving any reviews on this whole "FOMO" controversy and my opinion would've been completely different. Maybe if I read a bit closer, I could've gotten them before they were taken out of the store. It is strange though how they would keep the collection (That was considered seasonal) in the store a whole year, and then decide to take them out. They might as well have left them in the store forever, right?
I'm pretty sure they removed them so they can keep cosmetics like Mikaelas as auric cell only forever since they have decided time limited cosmetics are not included in the "all original non-licensed cosmetics will be available for shards after 4 weeks."
-
@egg_ said:
Honestly you should let them be available all year long but outside the season just double or even triple their price until the next one.
Will be fun to see people complain about that imho
So have it at full price year round and then "in season" put them on sale for discounted price like they already were doing before?
