  • I'm not a fan of playing with people with ttv or yt in their names. As survivor they tend to screw over the other survivors and be completely useless for escape. Rarely do I get one that is a decent teammate.

Most of the time I'm scared of being bodyblocked in the corner but not by the killer. It's my teammates that I'm afraid of ๐Ÿ˜…

I would say 9/10 times it's the teammates blocking me in and not the killer. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

It is easy to find totems in the open, but sometimes I'm afraid of cleansing it 'cause the killer also can see you in the open, you know ๐Ÿ˜…

When I realized they could be in the open like that I was so mad at myself for never paying attention. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I like those totems because sure the killer can see me but atleast I won't get blocked into a corner. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Because killers have made a big deal about it being OP and needing to be removed from the game so survivors that weren't using it are now trying it out to see what the fuss is about?

  • I've been the survivor in situations like this. I usually have killer sacrifice me at end of match because they should get those sacrifice points, they didn't have to farm when they dominated like that.

Because I never looked in the open for totems when I first started playing I never found this bright glowing totem. So many matches with my teams dying from Devour Hope or running around looking for old Ruin when it was right in the open. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • But the NOED nerf posts say that totems are too hard to find, especially for solo survivors. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I'm all for them hiding totems in every nook and cranny but the need to fix killers/survivors blocking other survivors in those nooks and crannies for majority or entire match. Make it so if survivor is blocked in spot for x amount of time they can move through the other player.

You probably complain about genrush being a thing, just pressure gens and there won't be a problem. It's an argument that just makes no sense by just saying "Just Do BOneS". I literally said NOED should only be changed to discourage camping.

I think killers should pressure gens to counter gen rushing. They can also use perks like Thanatophobia (bonus if with Sloppy Butcher), Dying Light, Corrupt Intervention, Pop, and Discordance to help with slowing down and putting pressure on them. Although, if killer isn't pressuring gens they're probably running NOED so should go cleanse 5 totems before that last gen pops. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • @Sinister_Fury said:

So are we gonna ignore detective's hunch. A perk that lets you see where the totems are located.

Also ignore Small Game, and Maps, and the few spawn locations totems have if you aren't using the perk/item.

I love seeing nerf noed posts because survivors can't be bothered to do totems. There will be a killer post complaining that totems are too easy to find if there hasn't been one already. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Devs should take opinions into consideration but not treat them as fact. No one group should be the one devs listen to, even 50/50 players will have a bias because of their rank.

People giving opinions should take into consideration they aren't as good at the game as they probably think they are. They shouldn't escape/4k every match and rank doesn't mean you are skilled, just that you lucked out with match making and know the minimum to pip. People should also consider how they are voicing their opinion, many do so by insulting the devs and that's really not great way to get someone to listen to you.

  • Turn off messages/chat, make profile private. It's annoying but people are just very sore winners/losers. You'll enjoy the game way more without the commentary.

  • I've run into it in red rank. I figure they're either trying to derank or they had bad match and they're taking it out on next group without mori. I had one with a wraith, I found him because he's so loud breathing when cloaked. I pointed him out to the randoms so we spent time running in basement for extra points. To safety pip you need your team to not rush out after doing gens to get extra points, but that is hard as solo. Search chests, if you find toolbox you can damage hooks. Working with teammate on gen gives you extra points for coop. Run around basement you can get boldness. Only one you really end out getting hurt in is altruism. It can be annoying but doing that stuff you can atleast safety pip.

Those are good reasons. And they make me wonder why people can't just use them instead.

Because they think can't argue if they bring up lore. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • As someone else said, using lore as excuse is just to give weight to an argument. It's similar to how people say rank doesn't matter in one argument but then make big deal about being in red rank in the next - they use whichever one fits the argument they want to make.

A reason I can see for being against multiple game modes is it increasing the wait times that people already have an issue with. Although one could argue that bringing in other modes could increase player base.

Another reason could be there's already issues with the one game mode we have that people complain they are not fixing fast enough. Adding additional game modes could make issues take longer to be fixed.

  • I'm on ps4 on East coast in US. During the day my survivor queue is quick while killer takes up to 10 minutes. At night it switches, killer queue is quick while survivor takes up to 10 minutes.

  • Slowing gen speeds just hurts the random solo(s) matched with the SWF.

They do exactly the objective and they should get punished, when the killer just plays bad? SWF do the totems, because they exactly know how much are up and have not to waste time like solo have. And nobody will use this other perks, there are just much better option as to waste it on something like that. Again, SWF do not need it and you cant tell people you do not know to use it.

The objective is to escape, part of that is doing gens and another would be doing totems to prevent killer from being able to down you with one hit. Getting downed with NOED is being punished for not taking time to cleanse 5 totems that are ridiculously easy to find according to multiple killer posts in this forum.

I play mostly solo survivor. As solo survivor unless I'm in a chase for 5 gens I'm able to do a quick loop and cleanse the totems. There are only a few spawn locations for totems on a map and 5 isn't many at all to keep track of.

If you are in red ranks you should have played enough to learn the areas the totems spawn, otherwise you can use one of two perks or maps to help you find them until you learn their spots. Those perks aren't a "waste" if they are helping you to directly counter a perk you think is used so often and is so OP it needs to be nerfed - nerfing NOED is what would make those perks a waste.

As solo survivor you can have a pretty good guess a killer is probably running NOED because of how they are playing - not putting pressure on gens and bad at chases are two big hints. If you notice this in a killer you take a minute to do a loop of the map and do totems before last gen pops, can keep track in your head of how many broken ones you pass.

Don't worry bud, here's how I got it easy:

You must have INSIDIOUS and obviously a multi-blink add-on.

Hook a survivor in the basement on the right/east hook.

Now hide in the corner (one of the chest spawn points) behind the wooden wall and allow your Insidious to activate.

Another survivor should eventually run down and go straight to attempt a hook rescue.

Just as they go for the rescue, do the blinks and grab...and you got them!

It may take a few tries, but you'll get there. Good luck.

I'll definitely try that. Thanks for the tip. ๐Ÿ˜

  • Nurse 3 blinks then grab. Doesn't help I'm terrible with the Nurse but needing the right add ons to blink multiple times is obnoxious. Pretty much have to sink BP into a killer I'm not a fan of playing just to get the challenge done. I don't see myself getting this trophy.

Where did they go I lucked out. Was during the tome challenge when people had to escape with a key. There were quite a few that used that as chance to get that challenge done. I didn't think I'd ever get it done, especially as solo survivor.

Left for dead challenge is another I lucked out on, didn't think I'd ever get it because of EGC. Had a Freddy in Hawkins that wanted to farm BP after my team quit pretty much at start of the match. He let me complete all the gens and leave through the exit.

  • Went with the Thing because it'd be awesome. I considered classic monsters but pretty sure most of them are public domain so wouldn't need a license.

  • Be nice to get them on ps4.

  • Tenacity - can quickly crawl decent distance away from killer that doesn't immediately pick you up and recover while crawling. So many people should run it because they just start crawling without recovering so someone can't just quickly pop them up from the ground.

  • NOED is fine. Survivors need to do totems. This perk is only useful because most survivors focus more on getting gens done quickly than taking few seconds to cleanse dull totem that is right next to them. If 4 survivors would cleanse 5 totems killers would start using this perk less. Devs could add buff to Small Game/Detectives Hunch to include totem counter to help those that have hard time keeping track of totems.

Moris - I think having ebony be 3rd hook is fair. This will stop the tunneling off first hook moris that end games so quickly. I've had killers do 3rd hook moris and as solo survivor it made the match playable. You didn't have the other survivors just become instantly useless/killing self on hook because they figured match was over anyway.

Keys - as long as Sony and Microsoft make changing achievements a pain they won't remove keys being able to have multiple survivors escape because of the Where Did They Go challenge. What they could do is remove purple/pink keys and replace as add ons for broken key. This would make broken key useful. Unless player is running Ace in the Hole they won't randomly find key for escape in a chest and even with the perk their odds would be lower than they are now. Survivors would also lose the add ons at end of match unless they used perk spot for Ace in the Hole or white ward offering.

  • For killer to use Pop they have to chase, down, and hook a survivor and it has a limit to how many times it can be used a match. Not only could the killer be distracted after a hook and not use Pop but survivors are now able to use Repressed Alliance to block gen from killer kicking it. If they changed pop they'd make a new survivor perk useless.

  • I'm saving mine for when they bring back the DC penalty. Players quitting within first minute because they don't like the map/killer is just a waste of an offering right now.

  • First they need to do Buffy Chapter with Buffy as survivor then have Willow, Kendra, and Faith as legendary skins. If possible to give legendary different voice add Giles and Xander.

  • Unless it's blind multiple times in one match you can do the blinding challenges with firecracker.

  • I do think if 5 minutes go by with no progress to the match either 1. EGC should just start so the match can end or 2. the match just ends. This way survivors aren't just wasting time with killer refusing to chase and killers don't have to DC because survivors are hiding.

  • I play on ps4 on east coast in the US. During the day I'll get survivor lobbies fairly quick while killer can take up to 10 minutes to join a lobby. At night it switches - killer lobby quick while survivor takes up to 10 minutes to join a lobby.

There's no AI on console so not sure what makes you think it's bots. Is it a certain playstyle that makes it feel that way for you?

  • I'd like to see the killer/survivor win rate before cross play and then what it is after. Additional stats of before/after cross play: most/least used perks, killer most/least played and strongest/weakest, most/least used killer add-ons. Be interesting to see what changes/stays the same, especially for console going against pc players.

Solo v swf: Most/least used perks. Win rate. Killer they go against most/least.

Average length of match: Per killer. Solo v swf. When ebony mori is used. When key is used.

How often Trapper steps in own traps.

Near-miss v hit stats with Deathslinger.

Average amount of hatchets Huntress uses per match.

Average amount if Hag traps set off by survivors per match.

Average amount of times survivors need to snap out of it against Doctor per match.

  • I do it with tier 3 Myers so he has to hook me instead of being able to grab and mori me.

I've done it when injured when killer has Franklin's so I wouldn't drop my item.

To waste killers time - they think I'm running DS or Head On so they'll hesitate because they are afraid of a stun. Give my teammates that little extra time to work on gens.

also, lbr: How many survivors actually DO totems?

There's people in the game who wouldn't do totems even if they'd ALL spawn in the same location and be clearly labeled. and those people would STILL complain bout the killer running ruin/noed/haunted and how that's unfair and has no counter.

I always get paired with the randoms that ignore the lit totem next to the gen they do first because they're afraid of Haunted Grounds and it ends out being Devour Hope. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

  • Since Wendigo come from folklore I'd rather they do original than licensed version - would give them more freedom with the killer.

A mimic perk would be cool - one that had it throw off sounds other killers make to mess with survivors.

You make many a fair points, Mortal Kombat was definitely not a good example. However, the main stuff is the games, the demographic for those being mostly 12+ (FNAF 4 was rated M), not adult, but not kid either. Hell, the newest game was rated 15+. And stranger things has had plenty of kids stuff, action figures, DnD versions (DnD is a little iffy, considering it's also meant for adults), and weirdly enough a small arcade machine. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/J~oAAOSwwfFeTFkT/s-l640.jpg (Sidenote am I the only one who really wants one?) So they also have kids merchandise. And when I mentioned Stranger Things I wasn't talking about if the demographic was for kids, I know its 18-40. I was asking what makes Stranger Things so much more adult. What pushes Stranger Things over the M/R rated line that FNAF doesn't have? I personally think FNAF would be a good option a few years down the line. When the games become more mature and the movie comes out, and when we've gotten some of the bigger licences.

I have the arcade game, was less than $10 at Target when I bought it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Aside from the violence they both have, Stranger Things also has sexual content, language, and smoking/drinking - people get ridiculously mad about an adult in the 80s smoking.

Like I said before about toys, I do find it weird to sell action figures from adult targeted franchises next to kid targeted ones. With adult toy collectors in the mix the toy industry is just a whole lot of grey area to me. ๐Ÿ˜‚ DnD I would say youngest playing it is probably early teens, not sure any younger would be able to focus on a campaign long enough unless playing with older sibling or something.

For the games I went to the esrb site and the only one I see is for the 4th one being rated Teen, so 13+. The rest are parents on rating feedback websites saying 9/10 is good age with handful causing the average to jump to 12+ by saying it should be 17+ because it's demonic and you're going to burn if you play it - dying at those reviews. Based on those parent sites most seem to see atleast the first few fnaf games as a kids game.

I said it on my first comment in here, if anything they should do original animatronic instead of license. It gets rid of the target audience being kids argument as well as avoids parents groups. They would have more freedom with the DLC lore, cosmetics, map, design, etc. and you could get it for iridescent shards.

Thats fair, but this was in the 80's and the new movie, (which from what I can tell is just some stories from the book) was just rated pg-13. Considering Sega thought Mortal Kombat was appropriate for kids and R rated movies like Terminator and Robocop got kids toys, I think it's safe to say SSTTITD was another case of something being given to children when they shouldn't have had it, at least the stories you mentioned. I still don't see how FNAF can't be considered something like stranger things.

Mortal Kombat has had parents groups on it from the start because they did not want it targeted towards kids, they are the reason a video game rating system now exists. Since the rating system was put in place Mortal Kombat has been given a mature rating and the parents groups can no longer say it's targeted towards children. If they were to add a DLC from franchise targeted towards children though the parents groups would be all over them for trying to attract children to a mature game - which this here is why I think DBD should avoid DLC from kid targeted franchises.

Stranger Things target audience is 18-40 year olds, which is the majority of their viewers and social media interactions. Their books are also written and released in sections for that target audience not the kids section. The only thing I see Stranger Things and Fnaf having in common is that they aren't classic horror franchises.

I haven't seen the Scary Stories movie yet so can't say what was/wasn't changed from the books. Harry Potter is a kids book series and the last movie was PG-13 instead of PG like the rest of the series. The MPAA has odd standards between PG/PG13/R ratings. Be Cool is a great movie to watch because they point out how ridiculous it is - like how you can use certain swear words a certain number of times before a PG-13 movie becomes R. Many horror directors have discussed how inconsistent the MPAA are when it comes to rating movies. If you're into that sort of thing it is interesting to read up on.

Fnaf the books are in kids section because the writer went with Scholastic for a publisher - they are a publisher for children's books and magazines they don't do adult (can check the about section of their website to confirm). If fnaf was not suitable for children Scholastic would not have given the writer a publishing deal. Instead the books are released through a publisher that only does kids books, put in the kids section, and it sells well with kids as target audience. From what I can tell parents groups have stayed quiet on fnaf being targeted towards kids - they'd be demanding the books removed from kids sections if it was not appropriate for them. If the writer did not want them to be seen as a kids series he could've gone to publishers that do more than just kids books like Penguin Random House, Hachette, HarperCollins, or even self-published with Amazon who have made it fairly easy for authors to do so with ebooks and paperbacks. If he went through one of those other publishers could say they put the books under the wrong category but going through a kids book only publisher can't use that excuse.

Toys I really have no response on mainly because the toy industry is one I don't know much about. I always found it odd when I'd go to Toys R Us and see a Slasher action figure next to a Disney cartoon character. They seem to be more worried about choking hazard than anything. ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • It depends on my mood. Guess could say I prefer survivor since I play survivor more. I mostly play solo survivor so I find it more challenging since have less control over a match. I like the having to change up my game play on the spot depending on killer and team I'm matched up with.

As killer I have more control over a match so I play that when I feel like relaxing. When I'm killer I enjoy doing things like playing as Ghostface marking people to watch them scatter until they start to feel comfy then I down them. Or as Trapper seeing how many ways I can get people to step in multiple traps - one of my favorites was a jungle gym window/doorway combo where a person stepped in one, got out, and then stepped in the other one like a foot away. I'm more satisfied getting one kill from just messing around than I am sweating for a 4k.

  • They should do ones similar to the ones when you first start playing the game. Random little pictures of how to play type hints. Like have one of pig putting on reverse bear trap, survivor at box doing skill check, then survivor removing trap or reverse bear trap going off depending on if it's survivor or killer loading in. Doesn't even have to be when they play that killer, just make it totally random.

  • Firecrackers because I want them to be on bloodweb all the time not just during events.

I'm sorry, but give me one episode of goosebumps were someone is locked inside walls when they're entire body is pierced from a suit reminiscent of the suits they used to stuff dead children into. You underestimate the gruesomeness of FNAF. If none of that is considered adult enough, what is? What makes something like stranger things so much more gruesome to children that FNAF doesn't have? Also, at my sisters school kids play a game called "Dead By Daylight" where they huddle in groups and tell stories about the killers in the game, they then play what is essentially hide and seek, and coincidentally they are in second grade too. So does this mean DBD is just a kids game?

I haven't read Goosebumps in 2 decades so can't give examples from that but I do still have my Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark and there's plenty in the 3 volumes of those. These books are available at Scholastic book fairs in elementary schools and filled with stories of people dying in pretty violent ways.

There's the Fishermen story where they take shelter in an old house. At night they hear what sounds like fighting upstairs, blood starts dripping from the ceiling and pooling on the floor, then they hear what sounds like dead body being dragged down stairs.

There's the evening gown story where a girl rents a dress for a dance. By end of night she doesn't feel well and dies. They do autopsy and find she was poisoned by embalming fluid that was on dress because it was used in funeral then stolen before burial and sold to place girl had rented from.

They have the Hearse Song which is about what happens when you die including listing what body parts the worms will eat and what happens to your body as it decomposes.

Story of a woman that died after being in a coma. Grave robber tried to cut off her finger to steal her wedding ring, when he did she started to bleed. She stood up and walked out of her grave. As she walked away grave robber went to run but fell into grave onto the knife and bled to death.

There's the story of the guy who made sausage from people. He gets caught because young boy he tried to kill escapes and people see him chasing the kid. The people go after him - he "disappears" either fed to his hogs or fed to his sausage grinder.

Woman waiting for Subway notices three men, two are holding up man that looks like he's drunk. They all get on train and at first stop two men leave the drunk one saying they'll see him later. After they leave she sees blood trickling down his head from a bullet hole.

There's Harold the scarecrow story - where two farmers, Tom and Al, make a life like scarecrow. They see it come to life and it freaks them out. After milking cows they realize they left the stools and draw straws for who goes back for them and Tom loses. After Tom doesn't return Al goes looking for him and sees Harold stretching out bloody skin to dry in the sun.

Those are a handful of stories from the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series. It's compilation of horror stories for kids that are pretty gruesome.

Also Watership Down which is both a kids book and movie. Here's carnage count from the movie.

Holy ######### dude, if you think FNAF is for children you may want to actually look at the material. It's some morbid #########.

It's in the kids section of book stores and the target age group is children. My nephew was reading them when he was 8/9 because they were easy to read and he didn't find them scary. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark had plenty of morbid stories in it and they sold it at the Scholastic Book Fairs in elementary schools. There's plenty of kid targeted books that as an adult you read and see how morbid it is. I mean, Watership Down is a classic for kids and that is ridiculously morbid.
