"as it was intended to be anyway from the start"

Oh look, someone else who thinks that SWF was never planned.

A Debuff to Healing and Genspeed would not make sense. This would also hurt Solo players, if I am playing Solo with 3 man-SWF, they would all be slow on Gens (and not the usual "not doing Gens", but actually slow when workingon them) and be slow when healing me. So while playing Solo I would have the same disadvantages.

Besides that, the idea of buffing Solos to SWF-Level is to buff Killers accordingly.

Let alone that Killer-gameplay is not as bad as people claim it to be...

Right. I guess that's why in-game communication is so frequently used... oh, wait...

I'd rather the killer be rewarded with more BP or something for playing a SWF match. Survivors hold m1 to repair gens long enough, it doesn't need to be any longer. Not every match is a SWF death squad that end the game in 5 minutes. a lot of SWF groups are just there to screw around. I know that's what me and my friends do when we play in a 4-man. It's rare that more than 2 of us escape most of the time because we all mess around with head on and go for dumb sabo plays etc (Or we're all drunk, or both lmao). If you really wanted to give the killer an advantage against a pre-made, make bloodlust gain twice as fast maybe, or make the first bloodlust tier increase the killer's speed by 7.5% instead of the usual 5%.

This makes far more sense. If I'm going to be limited to maybe 6,000 blood points because I got steamrolled, I'd feel less crippled if it became 12,000 with a x2 bonus.

In my experience, SWFs like yours are outliers, not the norm.

Edit: the 6k BP reference was from when we had x1.5 BP bonuses. It's probably a lower average now. I don't have a large enough sample size, but the devs do.

I know that for me (PC, U.S., red rank survivor and purple rank killer), survivor queue times fluctuate throughout the day. If I get a game during the day, it only takes about thirty seconds (not more than a minute at most), but survivor queue times in the evening range anywhere from a minute and a half to three minutes or more, and I rarely get matched against red rank killers. However, no matter what time of the day I play killer, I usually get into a game in twenty seconds or less (half the time it only takes about ten!), and I rarely get matched against green or purple ranks, mostly red. I think this is due to the fact that a lot of SWF groups get together and play in the evening, and since red rank for survivor is pretty easy to obtain, there are a lot of SWF groups in red rank, and not enough red rank killers to go around, so the matchmaking pulls killers from purple, then green, and so on. Sadly, if they didn't do that, then it would take ages for higher ranked survivors to get a queue in the evening....

They should make it so that you go back further on rank reset.... I only went back from 1 to 5 and that's only one rank away from red rank AGAIN. It's just way too easy to get red rank on survivor. If you're a Global Elite on CS:GO, then you probably deserve to be there, and the same goes for other competitive games. I'd love for red rank to be something to aspire to, rather than something you get in an evening by completing a gen, getting a couple unhooks and jumping out through the hatch. At least you have to try harder to get red rank on killer, although you will have killers who got there by playing scummy (camping and tunnelling, possibly moris). About half of the red rank killers I go up against play like a red rank should, and it's actually pretty terrifying!

This is an interesting assessment to me. I live in the metro-Atlanta area and play on PC. I play anywhere from 9am - 4pm and every single match as killer takes anywhere from 5 - 20 minutes. Today, I got up and did housework between matches. Once I went out, got the mail, came back in, gathered up some clothes, carried them downstairs, started the washer, walked back upstairs and was still waiting for a match. If I play from around 4pm-10pm, the matches start coming quicker. By 10 - 11pm, I get matched right away until I stop altogether at about 2am.

For most of the last week, most of the matches were fairly well matched. The evening, quicker matches, mostly have me horribly matched. It's only been the past two days where nearly all of the matches have me far outmatched.

It's just an observation about how different our experiences are in this regard.

Killers just need to get good and they can overcome swf. It's being done all day, every day. Not everybody is good at killer, though

Having killer be a niche role that very few people are good at playing is unsustainable. That's not trolling. It's a fact. It's an off-topic fact, but a fact none-the-less.

Edit: To clarify, the real issue seems to be that not all killers are made equal as they are for survivors. There is a significant gap between which killers are viable and which are not.

"In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers."

As they've said before, they have 0 problem with it. So it is intended to be something you can do. What would be the point of SWF and playing the game with your friends if you actually couldn't talk to them?

Talking with friends and playing the game with them isn't an exploit, no matter how much you want it to be.

In this particular case, it would make far more sense if the killer role was played like an NPC by trusted players who were given knowledge of the map and current circumstances. It doesn't work out quite so well in a 1v4 situation where unlimited, cross-map coordination places the 4 in a superior position.

I understand the developers said it's okay. That's why nothing will be done about it. That still doesn't make the game any more fun from the killer perspective. The killer perspective needs to be fun or else there will be few to no killers and, therefore, no game. Unless, as I began with, they make the killer position an NPC and this game is redesigned to focus on solely on the survivors.

I'm honestly not even concerned so much about the communication as I am about the ability to dominate the game with it, significantly devaluing the role of the killer.

Edit: I don't want it to play this way. I am describing a circumstance where unlimited voice communication between survivors could make sense.

  • Edit: Nevermind. Trying to reason with these people is just as futile as trying to level a killer. I'll just play survivor or face camp everyone I meet just to make sure I get at least some points.

Of course, I won't because I'm a decent person. But... I'm sure they'll figure out something to do once they've run all the killers off.

  • All I know is all day I've been stuck at getting around 6-10k per match. Once, a survivor just let me sacrifice him at the end. In post-game, he said he felt sorry for me. He knew I didn't play poorly. He just knew I didn't stand a chance. I'll be happy to discuss tactics, show video, etc... It's just that something feels very wrong here.

This hasn't been the standard for the past week, but suddenly, since two nights ago this is what it's been.

All I want to do is play killer. If I can't progress, I'm not sure how long a love of horror flicks is going to keep me going.

Except they've come out and said they're okay with that lol. Nice attempt at trolling, though

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should... or that it's the right thing to do.

It's more trollish to call someone out as a troll for simply voicing an opinion. I'm pretty sure insulting people is against the TOS, but why go there? The rest of your comment was valid, at least.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Now, before you do the quick thing, I don't mean who do you main, I mean how do you play.

There is a large divide amongst the player base as to what is acceptable and what isn't. I'm disgusted by Chainsaw Spam and think that you should be using your mallet more since it's your WEAPON while Hillbilly players say that it's "high skill" for example.

But that's not what this is about. I want to know what type of killer you are.

The type of psycho you embody.

Are you a furious serial killer, who's only goal is the body count, piling up the bodies to peaks that will breach the heavens? Or a patient and careful observer, who waits for things to fall into place with well-placed traps or setting up the perfect 3-gen, setting off the demise of the survivors like a fully constructed mouse trap contraption?

Perhaps you're more like me. The sick and sadistic torturer. A hunter who stalks for the thrill of the hunt, rather than the spoils. Not out for the last breath, but for the screams that lead up to it. You die when I want you to die. You will beg for mercy, for a quick end, but it will never come. Your deaths will be drawn out because that is my design. For you to escape, you must earn it and sacrifice something of yourself. Slugged survivors are rare, but not uncommon with maybe one or two per match in the middle/towards the end. After all, what better way to draw out prey from a herd than to wound one of their own with what seems like relative safety? Or to punish those who would steal my catches from me. They can leave the hook, but you will take their place if you tempt me. Respect me and prove your worth, maybe you'll be able to leave and spread the word of what I have done.

For I am more than a killer, I am a predator. My generators are my prize and nobody can take that from me.

So! Probably don't need anything quite that detailed. But hey, if you want to go to this sort of place, please do. Within something like DbD, I do like some more dark fantasy and I have a horror movie addiction for lack of a better term.

Basically for me, I prefer stealth killers and don't really like Exposed. I'll never deliberately tunnel, targeting the unhooker if they do it in front of me and prefer to draw out my matches to the slowest pace possible. I will never camp, and if I'm still near you, I KNOW that another survivor is nearby because I saw them. Naturally counters DS and BT, plus does really well in the emblems system, and is really fun to me!

This playstyle tends to lean me more towards Pig, Legion and Doctor being my main 3 killers, but I also like reworked Freddy with his more control themed kit. Devour Deathslinger is something of a guilty pleasure for me too, but I haven't played that many games with him yet.

Not doing this for any real reason. Just a bit of fun, and to help me determine why there is such a divide in the Killer community about playstyle and balance opinions.

My playstyle is very much like yours. I say this with the understanding that I am still a new player. I might be at about 45 hours right now. I drove Bubba to 50, at first to get his teachables. I kept him up longer than I expected because he seemed easy to farm blood points with. I figured I'd branch out more after the Blood Rush event ends. My favorite has actually been Freddy, and I've had my best matches with him.

I am pretty much on a mission to help ease the toxicity and hyper-aggressiveness this community is known for. The problem is, I feel I can only be as cool as the survivors let me be. That is to say some days it's been easy to "play fun," where the survivors and I go back and forth the whole time. After the first few days, I realized I averaged far more points by "playing fun," than I did by playing aggressively. Sure, I'd get a few sacrifices. I might get a 4k. Those matches ended up being one-sided and far too short. In the long run, I was able to make more points overall by having the "give and take" with the survivors and having long, drawn-out matches.

Typically, the only camping I'm likely to do is proximity camping because let's face it, that makes more sense than body blocking in the immersion sense. Plus, it's a pain to run clear across the map only to discover most everyone was near the hooked survivor in the first place. Still, I don't go after the people just unhooked. I do wave my weapon at them or something in the hopes they will notice I saw them and then chose to do something else. I don't know if this works or not, but I try. If they are the only ones, I can find, though, I end up with fewer options. To prove a point, there have been plenty of times where I'd drag someone to a hook for the third hook and just drop them on the floor and run away, expecting them to get healed. I don't do it to "slug," but I do it to let everyone farm points. I've even carried someone to the exit and let them wiggle free and flee when I've had a great match.

Ultimately, it comes down to the survivors how "fun" I can be and the more I feel like I have control of the map, the easier it is to decide to just "have fun."

I'm going to continue to play how I enjoy it. I'm a horror film fanatic. I like to play hide and seek. I like to get my few hits in. I like to get a few hooks in. Occasionally, I like to kill someone. I do main killers, after all. However, I can play a relaxed killer or I can be hyper-aggressive as well. I'd simply prefer everyone have some fun. Win some, lose some, ya know? I just don't always feel like that is within my control.

I'll keep pushing for and promoting the "fun" style. I will accept any advice to that end. Let's face it... if everyone quits or stops playing one side, then no one gets to have fun.

TL;DR: I prefer to play with my food and it's okay if I go hungry now and then. If that goes on too long, however, everyone gets eaten.

I’m hoping it gets better for new ppl trying killer out. They ain’t got the good perks unlocked yet or the experience to deal with getting match with red ranks.

*raises hand* I'm hanging in there. It helps that I fell helplessly, hopelessly, head-over-heels in love with this game. Admittedly, I was blindsided by being horribly outranked the first time I started getting steamrolled. That was about 5 days in. I've adjusted my mentality to it and I've learned I get some bad (well, hardcore) low ranks who just beat me stupid and then I encounter more forgiving low ranks who will help me farm BP a bit before skipping on out the door. It's also helped me to learn how to do the same for survivors when I totally dominate the map. It can be crushing to be on a bad roll where you're only getting a few thousand BP (even with the event), but it feels a lot better on the rolls where I'm clearing 15-25,000. I'm still not looking forward to the BP event ending. I have yet to play without it.

First of all, this is a very rude thing to post on the website of the developers of this game of whom try their hardest to get this game running and working. Judging by the fact that you have a complete "Killer OP" mentality I'm going to assume you are pretty new to the community, this game takes lots of time, dedication, and learning to ever actually be good at, which clearly you have yet to put in. Camping is a horrible strategy because its easily counter-able by doing gens, tunneling is the same way, only it's a little harder to beat. You need to learn to use your pallets decisively, as the killer can break them, if you throw them all down willy nilly, you'll have no pallets and no chance in chases, this is does not make the killer OP, because if you could throw pallets down willy nilly, how does the killer ever catch you? With this up coming patch, BHVR is removing; abusable infinites, overpower loops, insane gen speeds when multiple people work on one gen, and a lot of things that are just unfair to the killer.

This isn't saying killer is super underpowered, but if you know what you're doing as a survivor, the killer is going to have a hard time catching you, and within the time of that chase, generators are getting done. My recommendation to you is instead of complaining on the forums, go and play and get the skill needed to have lasting games that don't suck, look up tutorials on Youtube, learn a few things. This game is hard to get good at, the learning curve is a brick wall, that's what brought me in, and if you don't like the learning curve, don't yell at the devs to fix it, because the 4v1 asymmetrical game is going to have a lot of things you have to learn because that's how you make it balanced.

And another thing, just because you dislike a product doesn't mean it should be shut down, there are over a million players who love this game and would hate to see it go. The people who work at BHVR would hate to see it go, because all those people would lost their jobs, Matthew McCote would lose his entire game, and overall it would just make people unhappy.

tl;dr, don't go to the forums of a game you played one game of and decided you hate because learning it is too hard. Instead try actually playing and putting in the practice.

I think the first mistake that people make is optics. I avoided this game for a couple of years because the concept looked and sounded too simple. My love of horror and a good price finally won me over and I quickly discovered this game was anything but easy. I reacted well to that revelation. I don't think everyone does. My honeymoon phase is over and I'm well into my growing pains... but I'm adjusting.

I'm glad I joined these forums. I had a few complaints at first (about MM), but I've quickly learned this game is good at separating the wheat from the chaff.

  • @Con_Inc said:

It will be the same mm just don’t know how bad it is like you do now. I personally don’t care I get mostly all red ranks to go against but I think it helps to make me somewhat better going against some good high ranked ppl. I don’t want the game to be to easy so even tho all red ranks aren’t that good I like the challenge of the actual good survivors. Besides you won that match not because of the 3k but you also got more points with a killer a lot say it’s my that good so don’t think it’s that bad.

I'm down with playing against more challenging people in order to improve. My problem is when I'm a legit rank 17 and being matched with 9s on down to 2s. LOL But, I'm hanging in there. Eventually I'll have the experience to compete, whether my rank reflects that or not.

  • @BlueSwifts said:

Killers camping a hooked survivor and nodding/smacking is new or low ranked play. Mostly why I can't stand the grind of learning and climbing the ranks of survivor, this is all you go against. It's very ineffective in the long run you'll never get a 4k.

Tbagging survivors are common at any rank whether it be to induce a chase or to be toxic that's it. So no it's not only the worst guy on the team especially when a survivor(s) is sitting in the exit gate bagging to rub the win in... very common.

Toxic survivors are celebrated while toxic killers are only the subject of hate. I don't get it, not because I'm a killer main but it's a 1v4...

I figure it's worth pointing out I've just had a few great matches in a row as a killer main. I described earlier how I like to sometimes "be cool" when I have a map under complete control. Well, tonight it was reversed. Depending on the time of day, I either get a lot of matches with similar ranked survivors or I'm totally outmatched. At night, in the eastern time zone, it's usually the latter and I get stomped. It seems the past few matches were like that except... instead of just being steamrolled and left with nothing, the survivor teams were "being cool," and we farmed each other a bit. Well, after it was clear they had the map under complete control.

But... I was playing Bubba tonight. Maybe they took pity. I dunno... he has rage issues, but aside from that (and the stench), he's not so bad.

Playing as a survivor is usually a different story.

tl;dr: c'mon... this reply was short. Also, it's not always bad.

  • @OBX said:

Ruin played a big part, the horrible rework of rank reset, and only losing 1 pip on a loss have all made the ranking in this game a joke. To be fair this game has a pretty steep learning curve initially combined with needing millions upon millions of blood points for unlockables. If you can put the horrid matchmaking aside, try and get a couple key unlockables. If you want to main killer, I’d highly advise getting barbecue and chili off of leatherface. It will help out a lot on your bp grind. Nurses calling from nurse is always useful too. The devs say they are going to hide rank so rest assured everything will be all better (sarcasm)

I've got Chili unlocked, but I forgot about Nurse's Call. Thanks. It seems most have at least one. I'm not looking forward to PGTW, but I haven't thrown down on Clown yet.

Hiding rank is a funny "sweep it under the rug," solution. The sad thing is, it's pretty obvious (to me, anyway) how experienced a survivor is and I can usually tell within the first encounter or two. The only time I've guessed wrong about rank in the past two days was earlier today running into a Huntress while doing dailies. She was on point, but not a jerk about it. She had us locked down, but let a couple of us farm a little. I expected her to be closer to 10, but she was 20. Probably a survivor main.

  • @Deadeye said:

It's not just DBD that would be better if people weren't like that. It's the whole world that would be better. Not a DBD thing ;)

Exactly. Life is simple. It's the people who make it complicated.

  • @AestheticCharms said:

This game is fun no lie. It'd be a whole lot better if people weren't toxic. I never understood when I saw my teammates tbag and point at the killer, like why? Now for killers why do you guys need to camp and nod no lol. The survivor always tbagging is the worse survivor of the team and the killer nodding no while face camping with a whopping 12k bp lol

I am still fairly new to the game, but even I can speak on this a bit. Well, I can't explain the toxicity. That is merely the way individuals choose to act and it speaks more to who they are as a person than anything else. I can't help that any more than you can. What I can do, as a killer main, is not be crappy, myself.

I pointed out in another post that I play it both ways, depending on the survivors and how they let me act. If they're toxic or super aggressive, I have to fight and scrape for every point I can get. I do find that enjoyable, but when matchmaking pits me against low-rank survivors, my gains are minimal at best. I'm just not good enough to take them on yet. I accept that, or I get lucky and hook or Mori as many as I can. I still refuse to face camp because I don't want them body blocking... but again, it's up to the survivors.

On the other hand... a match can go a whole different way. If the survivors are cool, we can work together at all of us having a fun and profitable match. I spent the first 2 days learning the game and grinding my butt off to get from 20 to 19. The other day, I decided to take a different approach and dropped from 19 to 17 in just a couple of hours. I could do this because I was matched with a few decent groups of survivors. I recorded that day and will probably drop a video about it soon, but the gist is simple: they were cool and so I could be cool too. I wasn't completely altruistic (which is just weird for a killer), but I didn't have to stomp them into the ground either. There was no communication, of course, but for a few matches, it was certainly intuitive. I like to think we played smart.

I'd find them, hit them, damage the generator, and then chase. If they didn't get away, I'd smack them and hook them and leave. When I came back, I'd chase the unhooker, smack them, hook them, and leave. I was careful to keep track of whom I'd hooked two times. It was catch and release for the most part. One time I smacked a guy down and carried him to the hook for the third time and just dropped him there and walked away. Once I saw he was on his feet, I'd head back and chase down the guy who healed him. Meanwhile, they pretty much had only one guy doing generators and I was playing Freddy so if I needed to I'd just port to the next generator I know they were working on and swat them away. I had a great time. In post-game I know they enjoyed it. Every so often I still ended up with a kill or two... especially if I had a mori, but what I didn't get was a hard time afterward. I'd have to check the video, but the bloodpoint totals were all fairly even in the 20-30k range for all of us. Well, the ones who escaped anyway.

Again, it doesn't always work and either they all end up trolling me and escaping or I end up killing some of them and it's win some/lose some. In those weird cases where we are all cool with each other, it ends up being win/win in the fun and profitability departments. The good news is, it should be fairly obvious which way it'll go within the first encounter or two and it's also fairly obvious when you end up with fairly matched ranks or if the opposition is much lower than I am. The fairly matched ranks are the ones I can get away with being cool with. The low ranks just walk all over me.

tl;dr: I guess what I'm trying to say we can't control how others act, but we can control ourselves. "Some people just want to watch the world burn." Some of us just want to have fun. And never... ever... care what they say about you in negative post chat. Ever.

Basically. There was a perk called ruin. And in when the perk was primarily used a couple of months ago the gen speeds needed fixing and that was one of the few perks that helped killers pressure gens easier

Basically if you didnt hit great skill checks the gen would regress. All you would need to do is find the perk totem for it since it was a hex.

The perk got nerfed to make the game easier for new survivors. This stopped alot of killers from playing the game on console and pc and combine that with the fact that it is very difficult to hit rank 1 as a killer and bam. The matchmaking becomes terrible for survivors and unfair for killers. The game pretty much throws any killer it can find at any team. That's the reason your fighting such high ranking survivors

Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. You really helped connect a few dots. I can be easy going to try maximizing gains when the survivors let me. It's not how I want to play all the time, but if it gets me where I need to go, for now, I can do that. I have fun bopping field mice on the head. The key there is, "when the survivors let me."

Not everyone is as easy going as I can be, though and not everyone will enjoy playing survivor. Not everyone will take the time to understand the issue, either. It is still my hope this is a prioritized issue, either from a matchmaking standpoint or finding a way to make killing more enjoyable... if not profitable again.

Freddy isn't just due to the issues with the craven estate. New Line were incredibly strict and firm when making freddy, it was obvious that they weren't to interested in it in the first place. Hence why we got reboot freddy, why we didn't get Elm St on the "Nightmare on Elm St chapter", why we didn't get Nancy etc. My friend says it's similar with NECA figures as well.

The devs when talking about stranger things were saying that Netflix was a LOT easier to work with then other licenses they've worked with and were open to ideas unlike specific licensees who wanted their work done in one specific way only. It was obvious they were mostly talking about New LIne, Leatherface they were at least fine with adding the custom faces and Freddy everything is so oddly out of place.

This is a wholly believable description. I've heard similar stories about other franchises in different games.

What slays me about it is how win/win something like this is for the studio. What they make from the licensing may seem negligible to them, but it should be more about keeping their product relevant. That, in my mind, is the bigger payoff. A forgotten Freddy makes them no money while finding new ways to keep him relevant (especially if they let someone else do ALL the work) seems obvious to me.

  • I personally like all of these ideas. I have only intentionally been body blocked 1 time in the past week. I bet it happens more at lower rank. People who say it is a strategy to let yourself get hit to save someone either likes the imbalance or has never seen a slasher movie. Most of the time, if someone takes a hit for someone else in a slasher movie, they die. Killing survivors is already a long process without Memento Mori. Just being able to defiantly stand up to a killer simply doesn't make sense... nor does it happen often in the movies this game is based on.

I've been thinking of things that could be added for survivors to not have to loop or body block to combat a killer and the ritual idea sounds like a good thought. Survivors could either escape or perform a ritual to banish the killer or maybe weaken the Entity.

I don't have enough game experience to help flesh out the idea, but there is a good idea there somewhere.

As you can see. The rune nerf definitely made the game easier for new players. The complete lack of killers at low ranks is ridiculous. It's a shame. New players have to deal with red ranks. This is terrible.

It's entirely possible that I missed something. That is the drawback of being a new player, even though I've watched hours of videos and read numerous articles. I don't know what I missed because I showed up after the nerf. Are you implying as a high-rank killer I am encountering low-rank survivors because low-rank killers stopped killing?

I do know about the rune nerf, but I cannot imagine that one change completely gutted killers.

As an aside, I'll still main killers and I'll get better as I go. It's just going to be excruciating if I have to crawl along with minimal bloodpoint gains because I keep getting matched with low ranked survivors.

I'd also like to clarify this only seems to be a consistent issue during prime-time hours. Off-peak, like earlier today, the lowest rank I encountered was 12. Still difficult, but not nearly as bad as last night. It is interesting that when I switched to survivor for the dailies the killers I encountered were rank 19-20. Not a solid sample size by any means, but interesting, nonetheless.

I think you'll find, from his responses, he wants to be everything that people hate about killers. Engaging him in conversation, especially salt-laden retorts (not aiming that at you specifically, just people in general around here) only fuels his enjoyment. This is how he gets his kicks and lots of players obligingly feed him daily.

    LOL. GG everyone.

It seems weird to me. In most games, even competitive games, intentional griefing is a TOS violation. It can be hard to judge during actual gameplay, but openly bragging about it on the forums is certainly proof. I think he should play however he wants within the rules. It's just the bragging that shows intent to seek to not just "win," but to intentionally ruin the gameplay experience of others.

I'm surprised that isn't the case here.

Edit: I do think it was cool of him to remove their names from the screenshot, though.

Currently, the issues with Freddy and Leatherface are due to licensing. They could get around this by making more faces for Leatherface, like one for each survivor.

That would be awesome! However, I suspect the same licensing issues may prevent them from making up their own variations as if "protecting the brand." Sadly, this may also be true of Freddy.

  • I think this idea could add an extra element of suspense to the game. It would probably need a perk capable of shortening the time of determining whether an exit is real. Maybe T3 of the perk would expose the fake exit in 10 seconds instead of 20. I would think the killer would probably need a perk or an item or addon that would help them discern the true exits as well.

It adds a little more immersion and causes players to rethink those meta perks a bit. Most things that break molds or expand metas is a good thing for the longevity of a game.
