Award Winning Chili also aplies hidden penalty about acceleration.
yes and no. see, bubba acceleration only happens on first charge of chainsaw. every chainsaw sweep after 1st charge is full movement speed because it is adding additional 2 second duration to chainsaw. that why award chili add so much distance on perfectly timed chainsaw extension because your adding 2.5 x2 for 5 extra second of full speed as opposed to 2 x2 for 4 seconds of speed at no downside. the scale of acceleration only applies to his first charge and downside is very minimal.
this was also why tuning guide was so terrible because tuning guide scales his acceleration into 1 charge so movement speed scaler was taking his entire 1 charge and accelerating entire 7.5 seconds of his chainsaw. now after the fix, it scales only his first 2.5 seconds of acceleration and makes you move full speed for additional remaining seconds of his chainsaw. Tuning guide is still terrible because 3 tokens = 1 pallet break. tuning guide also is kinda useless because skilled bubba can time all chainsaw sweeps perfectly. as a result, the tuning guide removes all control from bubba because he cannot allocates the tokens per loop. The only positive way to use his tuning guide is with iri flesh to slug but as long you go to a pallet and camp it, it removes any snowball potencial from the chainsaw.
Are you saying that Beast's Marks is weaker than Award Winning Chili?
of course, you can do the math. If you add 1 extra second of chainsaw, you move an extra 5.28 meters+some extra from acceleration in 1st sweep. the survivor during this time moves at 4.0 m/s. i will not use 5.28 number. I will use like 5.5 because I don't know details enough with that scaling speed. ~5.5 - 4.0 = 1.5 meters gained.
For beast marks, we need wiki to understand this.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/FYIGN6ZBR9RN/image.png
this is a lot harder to calculate because lw in first charge is going from 86.25% ->132.25% so that 3% is scaling on first charge. I am just going say that it is 0.12 x 2 seconds to take raw value of speed. so you get estimated ~+0.48 meters of distance. for 2nd and 3rd charge, 132.25 - 136.21 is roughly 3.96% speed. 4% is about 0.16 m/s. assuming you perfectly time his chainsaw, you get 0.64 meters of distance. in total, your getting about 1.13 meters of distance but this get worse. you see, the beast marks also have - penalty to charge time. this means that if survivor running forward, you are losing m/s for longer amount of time. Bubba's default chainsaw time is 2 seconds for 86.25%. With beast marks, it becomes 12% longer. so now it is 2.24 seconds. 0.24 * 0.55 is 0.132 meters extra lost. so to conclude, you are getting around ~0.98 meters of catch-up.
1.5 meters is greater then 0.98. so yes award chili is better individually speaking. beast mark becomes better when your duration on chainsaw is longer. this is because your catching up the survivor sooner. as a result, the survivor running forward for less time. so between running purple chili+yellow chili vs purple chili & beast mark. the beast mark is superior compare to yellow chili. I have played a lot of cannibal as well. I have never done math like this but I could feel that award chili would do more for me on average then beast marks.
All Wiki Info I have in my head about Bubba. Duration isn't the most important thing. With Beast's Marks when outplaying a loop we can get a down. Without Beast's Marks it's Pallet on your face. Single Beast's Marks is better than double Chili. I am pretty sure about that. I am pretty sure Beast's Marks is the best addon on Bubba. Math just doesn't work in this scenario. Distance isn't the most important thing
Movement speed is the most important thing in this game...
With Beast's Marks Bubba starts at 88.84% and ends at 136.21%. It's massive difference. If someone can not see it, it's weird for me...
High Level Gameplay is not possible without Beast's Marks...

i do not agree. you can outrun his chainsaw because negative charge time penalty outpaces movement speed when running in a straight line and at loops. it is very rarely that you can hit survivor at loops with his chainsaw. in general, survivor tend to always make it to the pallet. as a result, you tend to break pallets more with LW than anything else. your chainsaw needs to outlast survivor's distance gain on you for them to throw the pallet. When they throw pallet, you break the pallet in 1 second. this gameplay summary is why his duration add-on are good for leatherface. without duration, you can only use his chainsaw near point-blank because you cover too little distance between all 3 charges.
what beast mark add-on is all about is post-pallet breaks. when you break a pallet, your chainsaw sprint ends. between your cooldown of acquiring tokens and the next pallet, the survivor's gains distance to go next loop. with just default chili, the survivor is often far too ahead for you to use your chainsaw to hit them. you need all 3 charges however you spend charges to break the pallet. beast marks improves 2nd charge and 3rd charge of purple chili's chainsaw duration. in other words, the beast mark and award chili gives leatherface an anti-shift w tool between loops. for example, if you break a pallet and you spend 2 tokens. by time you recharge 1 token, you can often use 2 token chainsaw to hit the survivor between the loop. Sometimes survivor still makes to next pallet because both pallets were very close to each other. in that instance, survivor has to drop the pallet in which case you will break it immediately but if they do not drop the pallet then you hit them. as i explained earlier, leatherface has 1 second pallet break so pre-drop pallets gives survivor little distance. this often means that you can walk as leatherface and as soon as survivor is within your 1 charge or 2 token chainsaw distance, you can rev up your chainsaw and hit them on very last sweep.
leatherface as character is all about judging distances and chainsaw catch-up 10+ second ahead of time. his main source of anti-loop is pallet zoning in the corner on the corner map pallets. the pallet in the center of the map are often safe enough for survivor to chain loops. the saving grace is that these pallet are relatively easy to chew through so leatherface can often break all of the pallets very quickly where a lot of the map quickly becomes dead-zone for his instant down. when it comes to the window, bamboozle is a perk to block isolated windows. it is possible win mindgames as leatherface at windows without blocking them but cooldown of chainsaw is severely long if survivor wins the mindgame.
Are you saying that Beast's Marks is weaker than Award Winning Chili? You are wrong. With Beast's Marks you can outplay most of the loops. Maybe in begginer hands Award Winning Chili may be better. But, Beast's Marks is all what Cannibal needs. You said about destroying Pallets & zoning - with this playstyle at current DBD on a little bit higher level you can now win many matches.
Bubba needs to outplay loops, use his creativity, use his knowledge about the power etc etc. Without Beast's Marks it's always like "Oh I broke a Pallet, but I didn't get a down" or "Oh I got stunned by a Pallet during my Chainsaw Sweep" - BECAUSE playing without Beast's Marks is like that.
Award Winning Chili also aplies hidden penalty about acceleration.
I main Cannibal since 2019, I have 40 000 Downs with his Chainsaw, I played in the Otz/Hens Showcase, 1v1s Tournaments and most of people know me as very good Bubba with the best knowledge and people usually trust me when I talk about Cannibal.

Why on earth that? Knockout is a terrible perk when we looking at design in general as well as how strong it is, why would we want that effect on more things?
Because Shop Lubricant does it already but with very limited version.

Sure, but most killers could use some more variety, but at least he has some usefull addons ^^
I just used the term because it was called crack billy when combining speed with lower charge ^^ nothing more... Doing this penalty free is maybe a little too much, I don't know, even though I would love crack billy back... so If we can have both, would be nice.
Billy and Bubba have a one second break animation, it is under cooldowns for some reason, whereas demo gorgon has two seconds to break a pallet according to the wiki, so it is nowhere near close, Demogorgon has a far slower break... even with the addon he is at 1.7 seconds I think, with is still a lot more than bubba...
If not Pallet Breaking Speed - let's try Knockout Effect for 60 seconds without any requirements
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
Bubba absolutely does not need addons that increase the charge time or pallet breaking speed. Those would be too strong.
However, I do agree that the addons you listed need changes in some way. The changes you suggested to the other addons apart from Shop Lubricant and The Grease seem to be good. Tuning Guide should probably keep at least one penalty though.
Carburetor Tunning Guide is very bad addon. This addon should be brown for begginers. You need to lose all tokens for Breaking a one Pallet. How 12% charge time would change Bubba? I sure that even if they would buff Bubba and give him 1 additional Charge this Killer wouldn't be out of control. Trust.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/394388/bubbas-addons
Facecamping is basically dead with the anti face camp mechanic, so it is not really an issue, but sure the addon could be something more usefull.
I don't know if I want to have decreased charge time for the chainsaw, it would be a good addon for sure, but we would basically get Crack Bubba, that combined with the engravings.
I would not change the pallet breaking speed, bubba already breaks pallets really fast and this might make it so the survivors could not even another tile...
The other ones are fine I guess. But overall I think Bubba is already in a good spot, when it comes to his strenght.
He is in almost good spot. Some bugs hurt him a lot. About addons - he needs more variety in addons. He needs more useful addons. Crack Bubba? If he could combine like 2 strong charge time addons, okay, maybe, but one 12% addon will not do a huge difference. It will be just "decent" addon. About Pallet Breaking Speed. Demogorgon has very fast Breaking Speed and he has addon to do it faster.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
I think your ideas are really good ideas for bubba. bubba's main issue right now is that he is too reliant on award chili to enable using his chainsaw in the chase. so regardless of what add-on they change, he would need base-kit purple chili to enable using other add-on's.
Bubba's best addon at the moment is Beast's Marks. He needs just Beast's Marks to outplay almost all loops in the game. In good hands of course. Purple Chili itself is "weak" I can say. This addon is good with Beast's Marks and that's all. I would prefer to add Beast's Marks base kit than Purple Chili.

Show me an example where winning a mindgame to MFT is actually a losing situation for killer then. Because to me it feels they added MFT because maps keep getting weaker and weaker for survivors, especially after they received general nerfs last summer (like gaining less distance when hit). If they didn't add it to counter top tier killers like Nurse and Blight, they probably added it for other killers. Their decision is not an accident and last year around this time when the released killrate stats people did everything in their power not to admit that killers where actually in a pretty good spot and doing well even in top 5% MMR, which killers always claim is hard to play cause survivors are good or playing in SWFs etc. And they never did a breakdown of builds, so we don't really know the true killrate of perk combos like Eruption + CoB + 3rd regression perk, that any killer could use. It's also true that among those most affected by all of this were solo survivors who do make up a significant part of the playerbase as much as killer mains would like to avoid addressing.
MFT is a perk that gains value in the hands of a good survivor, or at least a survivor that is better in chase than the killer. If we can accept Nurse and Blight being in game cause skill floor or something, then I don't understand why good survivors can't have something similar. I would bet you survivors with 4 tool boxes and gen-related perks probably win a lot more games than someone bringing MFT+Resilience.
You also have yet to address BHVR decision to add a strong perk like UW in the game or the fact that they want the meta to be chase oriented and everything seems to point that way.
I'm going to mention this again after I've done a bunch of time, the game does not consist only of M1 killers Nurse, Blight, Wesker. there are other killers such as Artist, Plague, Huntress, Oni, Pinhead that don't care about it. GF and Myers also can bypass MFT altogether, that is the whole point of their power. Leatherface and as well. Billy too but he has other issues. Pig even got her old strat back with the release of UW. Trapper got buffed, Sadako got reworked and she's been pretty strong and even last year she had a surprisingly high winrate that people were in denial about. Wraith doesn't care cause he has speed boost. SK didn't even care about MFT until recently. Who does that leave? Doctor maybe?
Or are you gonna tell me now that you play killers addonless and perkless and don't tunnel or camp and everytime you kill someone you do a little dance on your chair?
1) "Show me an example where winning a mindgame to MFT is actually a losing situation for killer then" - if Survivor runs Made For This winning a mindgame is much harder, against a good Survivor extremely hard.
2) "it feels they added MFT because maps keep getting weaker and weaker for survivors" - maps getting weaker? Azarov maps got buffed because they increased minimum amount of Pallets and they decreased dead zones on these maps. Blood Lodge - 16 Strong Pallets, Wretched Shop was "dead zone" map - now it's pretty good map for Survivor. We have Garden Of Joy, Eyrie Of Crows, Badhams, new Red Forest... And you say that "maps getting weaker for Survivors". Not at all. They changed borgo a little bit in the last patch, nothing special, a little better for Killer maybe.
3) "MFT is a perk that gains value in the hands of a good survivor, or at least a survivor that is better in chase than the killer." - ojojojjoj, no, completely not... Even a bad Survivor can make insane value from this perk. Most of Survivors in this game just try to learn how to use some perks instead how to loop. They can greed a loop like a idiot and still they can make it... because of this annoying perk. They don't even know what are they doing. Without this perk it would be impossible to do it...
Made For This is very strong in "weak" hands - it makes Survivor much harder to catch.
In good, experienced hands this perk is just a joke. They can abuse it very well. Every experienced Survivor says that this perk is too strong. Every Streamer says it ; Otzdarva, Hens, St1v1, Knightlight & more. It's just obvious.
4) 'I would bet you survivors with 4 tool boxes and gen-related perks probably win a lot more games than someone bringing MFT+Resilience." - Toolboxes are also too strong in my opinion, they nerfed "BNP-s", but they buffed it in some ways.
But you can see - you need to bring 4 strong items & other gens-related perks to compare Made For This & Resi with this. It shouldn't be a thing.
They may win more games, but Killer wants to chase Survivor and when it's situation when Killer is very annoyed in chase, because of this perk, it makes Killer to just quit this game.
5) About Killers
Trapper - even with last buffs - this Killer isn't strong. If he sets a Trap to get move speed, Survivor with Made For This will leave a loop and he will get a massive distance.
Wraith - I really like Wraith and I think it's very underrated Killer. But, still, in chase Made For This can make a huge value. Survivor can reach a Pallet before Wraith can reach him with his speed boost attack. It's not like without MFT Wraith doesn't have his speed boost and it's not like before MFT release Wraith or other Killer didn't have their powers... So, "Killers can use their powers to counter MFT" isn't an argument.
Hillbilly - this Killer is very bad to play as if someone isn't experienced on him. With his revving movement speed Made For This can be very heavy for him.
Nurse - the best Killer in this game. Okay.
Huntress - 110%, very painful experience against Made For This especially on high loops, shack, main buildings, Pallet Gyms, jungly gyms (basic loops).
Myers - one of the weakest Killers in this game. His main power is to insta down, so Survivors will not heal and they gonna have MFT even more. He has increased lunge attack and that's all (vs MFT).
Hag - 110%, her Power is a little different. It's hard to tell.
Doctor - he has slowdown during charging a Shock Terapy - MFT is very strong against him, they can reach a window before Doctor applies shock on them.
Cannibal - I main Bubba since 2019. Made For This counters his the best addon - Beast's Marks. It's stupid. It makes a huge difference. Everytime it would be a down, it's just a broken Pallet or being stunned by a Pallet. Very painful experience.
Freedy - M1 Killer - i don't need to explain i hope.
Pig - as you said with UW maybe "better" now, but this Killer is on very low tier. She needs to catch someone to apply her power. Catching someone who use Made For This is very hard for M1 Killer. Ambush Dash may hurt more than help.
Clown - he is bugged since 3 months btw. He has chase Power. Still, Clown had his power before MFT release. So, with MFT they can drop a Pallet on his face, without MFT it would be a hit. Just example...
Spirit - top 4/5 Killer. MFT can be painful only if Spirit doesn't have power.
Legion - everyone is inuujured against him and he is M1 killer in that scenario - I don;t need to explain how MFT can destroy him, right>?
Plague - red vommits it's her hope to counter this perk.
Ghost Face - insta down, he can dodge first chase against MFT. That's all.
Demogorgon - simple chase Power, much harder to catch a Survivor with his jump.
Oni - they should heal against him so that's good for him.
Deathslinger - same like Huntress
Pyramid Head - strong Killer, 3% on the loops maybe helpful for Survivors to dodge his range attack.
Blight - Top2 Killer
Twins - none plays Twins
Trickster - same as Huntress
Nemesis - MFT is strong against him, because usually Nemesis respect a Pallet and tries to use his Tentacle Strike. With Made For This it's even easier play to do.
Pinhead - he is still bugged. He has a quite good Chase Power.
Artist - best counter play against her is "W" so Made For This is very good against her.
Sadako - M1 killer. In chase she may has some problems.
Dredge - when he uses his chase Power Survivors can easily just leave a loop.
Wesker - Survivor with 3% speed can hide behind the corner before Wesker gonna use second dash.
Knight - don;t need to explain, otherwise none plays this Killer
Skull Merchant - ??? (I havent played changed version)

Like 5% per stack up to 15% just for being in chase?
Make it base kit and call it bloodlust.
Oh, wait. That's apparently too difficult for a number of killers to actually manage as a part of the killer kit.
He? What are you talking about right now?
-
Whole game is balanced around 100% speed. If you think 3% MFT is fine, you are completely wrong. Just like I said. Give a Killer 1/1.5% speed per every Survivor injured - this perk (with your logic) will be also fine.

Speed perks between killer and survivor aren't equal, though. The killer already moves faster, and already has tools for closing distance in a lot of cases unrelated to perks.
That's not to say all hypothetical speed perks for survivor would be balanced, to be clear, but there are reasons why a small increase would be balanced for survivors and not for killers.
3% speed while injured never should be a thing in dbd - that's what I meant
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:

20% more time for the killer to catch up
20% is just to make the number sound scary.
In a 15 second chase, that 3% move speed gives 0.45 seconds of distance, which is 1.8 meters. That's still in lunge range.
After 15 seconds, the killer gains bloodlust, and completely negates the 3% from MfT.
Try using mind games, stop kicking pallets on cooldown, or do really anything that isn't following the survivor's exact pathing. Try zoning, using the killer's power. Maybe even turn your monitor on or stop expecting the game to hand you a win simply because you clicked 'play as killer'.
They haven't nerfed the movement speed because the counter is the killer's skill in chase, which is also the only reason this perk is complained about so much on these forums. Experienced killers all collectively go 'huh, that might've been MfT' while hooking the survivor they just downed. But it's far easier to ######### to the devs about nerfs than to examine your own game play for even one second.
Let's create a perk for a Killer like: Gain X% (1 or 1.5%) speed per every Survivor injured. Hm? It's just X meters of distance, who cares?
-
They should buff some Killers to B+ / A Tier.
-
When I play Survivor role it's the most chill thing ever to do. Usually matches ends at 3-4 hooks from the Killer. I usually play duo or trio with friends. It's something wrong with it. I came back from 1 month break and I decided to play Made For This. This perk is braindead - everyone can use it and make insane value. Just press "W" and Killer can not do anything.
Most of Survivors don't play Killer role and they can not see how hard it is to play Killer at current state of Dead By Daylight.

That's good enough for mid-chapter i think. Reworking killer takes a lot job, it's not easy thing to do. And they are adding completely new mechanic into game.
So both of them probably took a lot effort. They are not simple number changes.
Honestly - they can add "simple number changes" to a lot of addons and it would make a lot of people happy.
It's not enough for Midchapter in my opinion.

Just true Bubba Mains know something about Bubba and how it works... And just Bubba Mains know that Bubba suffered a lot in last 2 years. His movement speed during his Chainsaw Sweep got shadow-nerfed in Patch 4.4.0 (Twins DLC) and his addons were also bugged, his cooldown were also bugged. Me and others Bubbas adressed some bugs to BHVR, but we still wait to change his acceleration and we can not get it... This Killer has no mobility, he got shadow-nerfed very badly...
Now playing Bubba is kinda bad even for Bubba Mains... MFT x3 or x4 in every match - perk which counter best addon on Bubba (Beast's Marks)... It's a fcking joke...
I agree with camping nerf, but we - bubba mains want Leatherface who works correct in every aspect. Please fix his acceleration (bcs of that duration addons are much weaker), fix his animations from last Bug Fix Patch , he is broken, please give him some love in his addons... this killer has 0 mobility so he deserve a buff to his Chase Potential

I am Cannibal main and what can I say about Made For This perk? This perk makes Average Players much harder to catch and in the same time it makes a good player like a god. One perk can easily counter the best addon on Bubba (Beast's Marks). The problem is they can gen rush in injury state and then pop Adrena / Hope and they are unbeatable... If someone use Made For This against my Bubba I know it after 5 seconds. That means something.
-
Even the strongest perk ever in this game will be not that strong in bad hands. My words about DS being garbage.

I tried the add-on combo myself against bots and i was able to down all 4 of them 😆seems like it is working again like it did in those old youtube videos.
Since you seem pretty knowledgeable about this OP, i wanted to ask, can you confirm if the bug is fully fixed or just the add-on?
Carburetor Tunning Guide is completely fixed on PTB, Chili addons also feels much better (but I wasn't sure at the first try).
I asked other Bubba Mains and they say that they see the difference with Chili addons. So, I think Bubba will be fixed in next Midchapter (2 weeks). But we don't know yet, what acceleration code Bubba will have.
-
Experienced & very good players can run you for minutes with this perk. Especially with combinations like Made For This / Dead Hard / Resilence / Hope.
About average players - this perks made them much harder to catch. For example playing Huntress on high wall loops... Like ten circles around the loop or even worse when Huntress tries with hatchets.

I hope we will get an answer about this problem.

Hows it not about distance? everything in dbd is about distance. Distance=time, time=gens. And like I said in the post, all of the good killers have ways outside of m1 to down people. The perk is only remotely overpowered against weak killers, like sadako level weak killers. Only killers that literally having no mobility or chase pressure will be affected. And if thats the case then its more of a killer balance issue than an issue w/ mft.
And no, that 3% is not gonna affect 110%. Any hit a huntress would have gotten without she will still land, with a 0.12m margin of error. That small extra distance will mean practically nothing, except on the tightest of loops. Also... a hag... will absolutely be able to insta hit... you arent slower than the survivor when you tp. It TPs you facing towards the survivor, you are faster than them, and they are within lunge range. You just made that up- realistically only trickster will care out of the 110s. all the others dont care for distance and just down you anywhere. And funnily enough, tricksters a c-tier killer. so buff trickster.
- they can reach a pallet or window before a hit
Yeah, any pallet or window that has a 3% difference between them getting hit or not. Its never gonna be that choked, they'll either land it or they dont. SB better.
Survivor can greed a Pallet more with this perk - it means this perk will not buy a just distance, with this perk Survivor are able to play all loops much better.
Let's give for example 1.2% Haste Perk for the Killer for every injured Survivor? It's just a 0.x meters of distance - it's not OP
-
Guy tried to calculate distances xD - it's not about distance - it's about playstyle.
Survivor can be very confident on the loops and Killer can not swing as early as normal.
With this Perks Survivor can reach Pallet or Window before a hit.
You said Killers 110% will not be affected? Hhahahhahahahha... Huntress on long loop and she can not throw a hatchet... Hag can not hit immediately after Teleport, because of this little speed from Survivor and more...

Why it's still no reaction from Devs? I just don't get it...
