  • Frankly I just don't believe people when they say "oh my internet went out". This isn't 1993 and none of you are on a 56k modem. You just want to leave at the first down/hit/when the killer is someone you don't like with impunity.

  • It's not the killers fault that DBD's netcode sucks.

  • I hate it even as killer because people will spam it constantly. It makes me want to tunnel that person out so they shut up

  • If you have trouble with so many different killers, the problem is not them, you are just bad.

Onryo is S tier already so if you're struggling that comes down to a skill issue. She gets to be invisible intermittently to help you sneak up.

Lmao even in her best state ever she was never S tier.

my entire playstyle is based on stealth. i have never and still dont use distortion and i am still able to use stealth effectively.

    tips for stealth:

    1. dont just hide avoiding the objective….you run the risk of crows and not only that but the killer and survivors seem to not like it, they will spot it and you could end up being targeted.
    2. do gens but pay attention to the map and WALK away from the gen if the killer is heading to you. a lot of people run and scratch marks are a dead give away or stay on the gen until the killer breathing down their neck.
    3. When in chase, dont tbag the killer after every pallet drop or stand there like a lemon…. turn corners and mix up the walk and run to spread the scratch marks out. its amazing how easy it is to confuse a killer doing this.
    4. know the killers aura perks and how they achieve an aura reading. This will help you avoid being detected when its triggered. A good example of this is no where to hide. keep your distance from the gen by walking away at the right time so your aura isnt picked up.
    5. knowing how the aura perks works also helps with avoiding lethal. Assume at the start of the match your aura is already read by the killer, you can now use that to mislead the killer into thinking your heading in 1 direction but after 4 seconds change direction.
    6. while there are a good few aura perks available to the killer, most killers actually use slow down perks and use other perks to show them where people are such as pain res that trigger a loud noise or killer instinct which gives an indicator of where you are but not an exact aura read. This helps you to find an obscure place to hide or walk to so when the killer comes looking they know someone is around there but dont know exactly where. looking for you for too long can cost the killer gens so they wont look too long before heading somewhere else.

many matches i am often last survivor remaining or i escape due to being harder to find than the other people. Stealth isnt a 1 job fix all way of playing though. It will not work all the time but if you combine good stealth play with good looping you will do well in your matches.

Dbd forums in a nut shell: someone posts a whine thread, gets actual gold advice from another surv main who clearly knows his stuff… and the advice is heavily down voted because he went against the hive mind and refused to enthusiastically support another surv.

  • Trapper's largest issue is the same as Ghostface: if a player follows you the entire game, you basically have no power.

  • All I know is that anyone saying anything positive about killers or even saying that a surv's idea to nerf a killer is bad usually gets heavily down voted no matter how valid their point is.

  • Killers have aura perks because as part of their gameplay they need to find survivors, especially non mobility killers who can't just zoom between generators. Furthermore, killers and their perks are, and must be, more powerful than any individual survivor and their perks because this is an asymmetrical game.

Yes, it's unfair taken against a single survivor's abilities. It has to be. That's the entire point of an asymmetrical game.

  • That's because survs hate mobility killers despite the fact that ghoul is weaker than blight. His ingame reputation is far from the real thing

  • The killers job is to kill you. He shouldn't be punished for doing his objective well.

  • VHS is basically the survivor main dream game, and unsurprisingly no one wants to play killer in a game like that

Doctor Who is pretty up there when it comes to iconic horror media, I'd say it has as much claim as something like Stranger Things.

Doctor Who is not a horror show by any stretch of the word, it's British sci-fi "humor".

  • Violating the survivors stupid made up rules isn't punishable.

  • imagine getting felted by zombies, you practically have to try to be downed by one

  • He just seems fast because he is smaller.

  • Your favorite pop culture thing doesn't need to be in DBD.

  • Pain Resonance literally is the opposite of a tunnelling perk since it only works once per person.

  • @not_Queef said:

As long as it comes with massive nerfs to all other slowdowns, then fine.

But giving sweat Blights and Ghouls a fifth slowdown wouldn't be particularly healthy.

Go ahead and walk us through why you think slowdowns, which are already in an awful place, need nerfs.

  • I just want to be able to abandon once the gate is open

  • I've literally gotten yelled at for NOT coming to the gate as killer. You just can't win with these people.

  • I personally mostly only run with corrupt, but I can see how someone who has trouble with chases would want to be able to buy as much time as possible. At the end of the day, maxing out gen perks means you're abandoning all other utility and that's a choice killer players should be able to make.

  • Here's a crazier idea: stop ragequitting on first down, first hook, or first hit. Cheaters are a thing but survs leaving when things don't go perfect for them is a far, far larger epidemic.

  • @Gandor said:

If all survivors are at one gate (they see each other) and stay there for 5+s after last one was there (or 15+s if anybody is downed), then I agree.

Otherwise there can be very legitimate reason for survivors to stay in the gate and it's not to "watch me leave".

Auto-penalty of survivor for staying in gate area would be the same (with same reasoning) as if you punish killer for walking over survivor without picking him up.

It very well can be BM. But it can also so happen, that killer needs to look around for other survivors (say trying to flashlight save), trying to actually catch another survivor that is looping the exact same structure where previous survivor fell, or other legitimate reasons…

lmao this never happens. any survs who don't quickly leave after the gate opens are 100% guranteed to be sitting in there to teabag.

  • After being treated poorly by survs too many times I am no longer willing to try.

  • Man, slinger's walk animation while he's aiming is terrible.

  • I don't think Nurse players are the ones having problems learning how to play good here.

  • Bro generating his replies with chatgpt 💀

  • Lmao if you think BHVR could ever afford the Spiderman license.

  • I'm going to roast this in a little more detail so I can hopefully pound in just how absolutely terrible and toxic your suggestion is, OP.

-The destruction token system -incentivizes- tunnelling because the only practical way to revert gens is with destruction tokens, and killers only get them by hooking. They have to tunnel someone out immediately to even make their gen perks work. In fact, they have to CONTINUALLY tunnel to maintain any gen pressure at all. Medium skill teams will body block and otherwise make it impossible for the killer to hook, and since medkits are an almost instant heal now, they can do it with no real penalty, which means that, effectively, all but the most skilled killers will never be able to revert gens in any meaningful way.
-Killers no longer have any endgame pressure. At all. A surv with boosted action speeds can open a gate in potentially as little as 15 seconds.
-Every survivor item got buffed to the moon, making it even harder to keep survs pressured via injuries or to keep them off generators. Generators will fly even faster than they do now, survs will heal even faster than they do now (and they already heal too fast), survs have perfect location on killers whenever they want, etc. This combined with the destruction token system utterly murders game balance.
-The action speed buff actively punishes killers for winning, meaning that kills at the wrong time will make the match unwinnable for them (if they should somehow even get a kill). They can't slug people to keep them busy either since everyone has infinite basekit unbreakable now.
-The Bamboozle nerf directly contradicts the stated goal of buffing killers in chase.

This is not game balance, this is just a Monty Haul wish list. If this was implemented even in nerfed form, surv queues would hit 2 hours or more within 24h after the patch. You might as well have just typed "remove killer" and saved yourself some time.

  • @UndeddJester said:

There are a lot of scenarios this is real cheap and super easy... there are other scenarios this takes a lot of skill and very accurate aim control to pull off.

I'd be happier with it if his first injury wasn't free via the auto lock being removed, for the reasons that:

    • If you're in a map with big dead zones and/or very few resources, you have 0 counterplay basically can't do anything in certain locations within the map.
    • If you're a Kaneki player, accidentally grabbing a player while trying to make high skill lunge plays is a constant pain.
    • Juking the grab would be actually rewarding at times, instead of just this annoying "just hit me already" interaction.
    • Getting hit through a window and having him vault after you is fair enough cause he actually had to aim it instead of grab you for free, and functions basically like a Huntress hatchet, Alien tail, PH punishment or Nemmy Whip.

Heck, if they made his tentacles a skillshot, I'd be happy to buff him in return by giving him enraged mode on his m1s as well.... but this free grab is just ass.

They tried that and it basically made him completely unplayable; no one could land the skillshot, especially on a controller.

  • This isn't levelling the playing field, this is smashing it with a hammer.

  • So basically you want to giga buff survs while nerfing basically everything the killer can do, even gen kicking. The base speed increase for survs and base kit gen kick -removal--is especially egregious. You don't want to balance the game, you want a theme park where survs can play around as they want and killers are just there to be a slightly scary part of the scenery.

This turd of a 'rework' is so actively offensive that I legit think you are trolling.

  • Frankly I'm tired of people crying about Ghoul. Learn to predrop. They aren't going to remove him and they aren't going to give him the Skull Merchant treatment. Give it up already.

  • Well this explains why I sometimes miss hits for no apparent reason. Thanks for this, devs.

  • This change shoves her right back down to basement tier

  • The problem is the new people who treat DBD as if it's their favorite comp shooter such as Valorant (or whatever game zoomers are nolifing nowadays). They see tunneling as an oversight rather than an intended mechanic and want daddy BHVR to completely remove it. You still got brainlets repeating that 9.2.0 PTB was fine, that it just needed slight changes. All the while calling veterans who've played since release skilless noobs who don't understand DBD. This happened to quite a few games in the past few years.

Veteran with 10k hours: "This update is a bad idea, here's why..."

Some zoomer who installed a week ago: "Umm but how come I can 12 hook while scrolling tiktok and huffing galaxy gas? Skill issue much?"

  • It's currently random which means sometimes you are unlucky. The same goes for when it pops for someone all the way across the map for the Killer.

  • Print this idea out, and then eat it. That awful taste? That's how bad your idea is.

  • In my last match I had all four members of the enemy team constantly trying to blind me, use flashbangs and blast mines nonstop, and so on and so forth.

Lightborn prevented all this from affecting me. No Lightborn changes ever. It's the one thing that keeps many killers from just quitting.

  • It's interesting enough to me the way it is, forcing survivors to waste items and addons and letting me get extra hits when they don't realize their flashlights don't work. Frankly I do not give a single solitary care about making the perk "interesting" for survivors to interact with. Go away, your idea sucks.

  • Lightborn opens up gameplay just fine… for the killer, as intended. Not every perk needs to have weaknesses survs can exploit.

  • 100% no. Lightborn is fine the way it is. Literally the only reason to nerf or 'rework' it is to benefit bully squads, and I and most other killers will not be fooled by claims that changing it is good for the game.

  • Stay tuned for this guys amazing Plague Dash suggestion as a replacement power!

So do we actually have proof survivors are leaving on mass? Because at least queue times don't reflect this saying going around where "survivors are leaving"

That one image of the "Don't buy Modern Warfare 2" steam group where everyone is playing it

  • Ghoul cannot just "do everything with no effort" and if you really believe that you haven't played him for any real length of time.

  • People would literally use the anticollision to run inside another player and act as a force field since they would be hit.
