The trick is not missing the shots, as silly as it sounds Deathslinger is a beast at chasing, there is no way to escape him even if he keeps missing but here is the kicker, miss enough and the gens will be fixed before you can start putting up any semblance of pressure. Once you get really really good at him you can end chases fast enough but you cant miss more than a couple of shots in the entire match, I believe is one of the most punishing Killers for not being very good with his power (the other being Hillbilly).
Well said, you miss a few times it's over. I just had a 4k but had to slug a bit and get lucky with noed.
noed, stbfl, plaything, eruption.

What perks?

90% of knights just camp the hook. The roam so close to the hook with a guard down right by it. Can't tell how many 1st and 2nd hook camp outs I've had thus far against the knight.

I like how OP mentions my most played killers, blight, bubba, nurse and huntress. I like playing pinhead but the fact that his chains break in environment drive me crazy. I'd like to see more killer be strong but survivors do not seem to want that. there is thread about blight add-ons being too strong and... one about bubba stearing being too strong which is funny to say the least.
My experience is similar OP. It feels like playing survivor is 40% blight, 20% nurse and the rest being random but bubba/huntress being more common than rest. I play mostly solo. Is SWF really that one dimensional, you haven't seen any other killers since ghostface? ghostface is not even that good. who knew that swf experience was more dry than solo survivor experience, go figure.
@BenihimeWrath "They don't realize that if they intend on balancing killers with their addons in mind that each killer must have their own Alchemist ring + blighted crow."
if there one thing that I've learned from the devs, I think they like the power-disparity being as massive as possible. I do not see a bright future for weaker killers getting stronger add-ons. I only see more survivor whining and more dev pondering to change killers negatively based off their feedback. casual survivors really hurt high-level play of this game which is why you see so much of same killers and so little variety.
I do not think that it is entirely fault of dev. The dbd community in general complains too much about killers and dev are self-reflection of the communities requests, especially survivor mains requests. For that reason I think most killers are going to be under-powered and underwhelming from gameplay perceptive. Dev do not care about killer gameplay, only stats so there is that as evident by Patrick's comment on Twins during Q&A. I would assume similar answer for Clown & Nemesis.
Personally wish it was less about stats and more centered around fun gameplay.
I had not seen a Ghostface in 200 matches, but you're right it's blight and nurse about 50% of the time. With bubba and huntress showing up more commonly than the other TWENTY-TWO killers!
I usually go dozens and dozens of games without seeing 80% of the killers. It's been a long time since I saw a Plague, Hag, Demo, Twins, Slinger. When we do see them we're like, "oh cute, another easy match". We occasionally lose to them but that is usually due to our own altruism.
-
For fun one time on The Game as bubba I decided to just follow one person because they insta threw pallets and see what happened. After chainsawing through 22 with great efficiency the gens were done and I got a 1K.
survivor tip on the game = just throw all the pallets.

You are free to believe exactly what you want to. You can discount everything I say based on whatever criteria you want to.
Other players can do this, but it makes for very boring content and not very fun games. I have absolutely no doubt players like Michi who almost never lose (while using no add-ons and meme builds) can do this but why would they?
Either the info in the post is useful or it is not. I hope it is.
I cant prove I won the games, so I expect people will not believe me. All I do is play Hag. I don't play any other killer. I have only played maybe 5 games as another killer since starting the game.
If you find anything in the post, besides the winstreak, that you want to discuss/object to. Let me know.
I do hope you read the post and try it out, though.
gl
I have a P3 hag that I rarely play and I’m rank 1 on both sides. Eventually you get a team that flashlight kills your traps and loops you, you put down a trap they just run to the next loop. Then there is map RNG.
MYC only excels if people hook bomb and let you port right back.
Oh and Michi couldn’t pull off what you said, not him, not Otz, not any other big name these forums can conjure.
Im not asking you to prove your last 700 games …. I’m asking you to prove your next 50 games (<9% of your supposed total win streak).
If you did a 4-5 hour stream (something people do every day) and you won 50 games it shut everyone up. You won’t, you can’t, your post is meaningless. Besides entertainment.

I get teams in solo queue that destroy Hags that are quite good/use their perks/trap setups quite well.
I know it's anecdotal, but, well, we're in this topic.
Amen. And he supposedly never had a two escape with this 110% killer.
Otz and others have done 100+ kill streaks but our boy here is saying he’s gotten a 2,100 to 2,800 kill streak.
-
Saying other streamers could do this is a deflection, no human on earth could pull this off. Period.
Someone posted a video of a streamer who got 100 kills in a row. That’s 25 games, a remarkable feat.
Then you come along and are like “please, just 25 games? I’ve won 700 in a row.”
Your claim is none other than stating that you are the best player in all of DBD, not just the best but head and shoulders above some top notch streamers who have put up some amazing vids.
You have to realize that your claim discounts everything you say.
-
I estimate it takes roughly 250 hours without any challenges or 150 if you do them all. This includes all the lobby wait times and bad games, etc.
Surveying the player base that has “weeks left when they hit 70” and you’ll find teens, college kids living at home, or work from home/unemployed types.
The grind is too much for the common player, they want you to throw money at it, bottom line.
-
Where is that post where someone from the community made player icons that were better than what BHVR did? It looked gritty but updated, hard to explain if someone knows what post that is in??!
-
#DeleteLegionBHVR
A poor excuse for a killer that sucks 99% of the fun from matches and leaves you with a 20 minute grind fest that when you finally die you just exclaim "thank God that is over!".
GG
-
Nothing like getting your new killer or survivor to 50, a process that takes about 2 million BPs and then they devour another 4 million like a snack and you still don’t have the perks you want.
Just make perks and items available to unlock straight up in a blood point store and be done with it.

I believe the last stream they said it would take 6 to 9 months before they even do anything. Which imo is total bs and I think they are just super lazy. There are so many solutions to this problem but they act like it's a new game. I hate the grind, I've played on 2 systems and currently on pc. I hate grinding after all my hours on Xbox which is close to 1k. And now I have to redo all of that on pc and I'm dreading it atm even tho I'm 200 hours in. It makes me not want to play honestly because it feels more like a chore which is sad.
Amen brother, easy changes at least some of them:
1) Bloodwebs are smaller now.
2) Just make it so 4 perks show up at like level 15 and you're guaranteed to get at least two of them each bloodweb.
3) Less tiers on perks (like 1 tier only)
4) Devotion grants you a fully unlocked perk per level across all characters providing you have that perk unlocked already.
5) More BP events, matches and challenges are worth more BPs now.
6) BP cap is now 1.5 to 2M.
-
That would works, also very easy for them to:
1) Make four perks show up in the blood web sooner (like level 20 instead of 40). Guarantee the entity doesn’t nab 3 perks before you can grab 2.
2) Remove 3-5 items in each blood web at the higher levels, effectively making them smaller.
3) Reduce item costs in BPs or increase BPs gained in matches. Raise the BP cap to 1.5 or 2 million.
4) Increase duration of double BP events, instead of 2-3 days make them 5-7 days.
5) Reward Prestige by giving you that survivor/Killers perks at automatic level 2 or level 3 depending on the prestige level you just unlocked.
6) At last reward Devotion levels. Each level you pick a perk you have already unlocked. That perk is automatically in your perk pool at level 3 for all characters.

If you don't read the lore, it won't affect you.
Well, I come onto these forums and read so it does affect me. Particularly you Orion, I see a lot of posts by you and many of them seem to revolve around some sexualization agenda. This includes sharing your own personal preferences on these forums.
Many, myself included, have gotten on just fine in DbD without bringing sexuality (our own or these fake characters) of any kind into the discussion of an asymmetrical horror game.
-
There is barely a ghost of a plot in this game, its a 1v4 PvP style quick-match game. We don't need to bring sexuality of any kind into this game, it just seems so out of place. Forced really.
There are killers, there are survivors, do gens, get hooks, kill, survive to play again. Repeat.
The end.
-
Are you saying that DCs and hook suicides should be a tactic adopted by the community in order to get the changes they want?
-
Not enough is said about the demographics of this game when it comes to toxicity. I'm not sure but I believe 90% of the game's population is male ages 16-26. That alone should tell you the kind of people you are dealing with. There are outliers but they are rare.
-
The opposite role of what you play.
-
1) Justt ditch the bloodweb and go with you straight up purchase the perks and items you want to obtain. A big menu with all the perks in categories and even tool tips about possible synergies. You naturally have to own the survivor or killer to access their perks.
2) Grant unlocks, cosmetics, etc for the amount of perks you have on one survivor or killer. One full page? You get the head, two full pages, you get the chest piece, etc.
-
It’s a chore, the challenges give you around 8-10 tiers but you need 17-18 at each rift stage to keep up.
This equates to grinding out the rest, spending typically 2-3 per day and playing every day.
I guesstimate its 175-250 hours each rift if you do all the challenges to max it out.
-
I agree with @Moundshroud but I'm also a big believer that just because hackers targeted 0.00043% of the DbD community does not mean we should remove the penalty.
GIve people an inch they take a mile.
-
Nothing to solo queue, just make it so for each person in your SWF group you get to use one less perk per person. (2 = 3 perks, 3 = 2 perks, 4 = 1 perk). There are countless videos online where no perk 4 man SWF win like 80 matches in a row. Even if you think those guys are the bee's knees of DbD we can all agree that SWF gives you at least 4 perks for free.
-
@PB_TORCHer welcome to the forums where you will be tar and feathered for saying stuff like this.
I think most humans feel the good of the few (crashes, internet outages) should outweigh the good of the many. So essentially I agree with you.
antecdotally I’m guessing less than 5% of DC are due to third party reasons, most are people pulling the plug or flat quitting.
It would be the best of both worlds if BHVR could detect the difference and assign time outs accordingly. I lean more toward heavy handed, 1 minute, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours in a rolling 72 hour period.
-
It’s rare, tough being killer from the perspective of you spend 2 million blood points to get to 50 (3x if you prestige) and then you realize you need to spend another 6 million to get the perks you want.
-
@lugZas_exe you'll hear a lot of talk on these forums about taking perks into the match like you can even know it is a Spirit in advance.
I'm rank 1 survivor and rank 1 killer (i play leatherface, huntress, myers, freddy, plague, wraith, and hag).
Spirit is just so cheesy a killer and here is why: she takes away your primary way of interpreting the world, sight.
I have seen people run one way then backtrack on their own scratch marks, drop the pallet then slow crawl back across it, using vaults, and honestly it boils down to one thing: YOU ARE GUESSING.
If you guess right, congrats you are a big brain mind-gamer or something. Guess wrong, sorry it is time to go on a hook.

I was going to make a joke post about the garbage responses this kind of thread normally gets, then thought better of it and deleted it all.
That said, Gens will fly if you aren't visiting them enough. If a Survivor is running you around mid for 30+ seconds, it's because they are stalling you while everyone else works on Gens. It sucks. As a Killer, you are "supposed" to chase and hit them, but they know that. They will present you with the Survivor that is confident in their ability to run you while Gens get done.
As such, my mindset for this game has completely changed when playing Killer.
First off, you aren't a BIG BAD Killer trapped with four Survivors running for their lives. You are an armed victim trapped with four intruders trying to break your home. YOU'RE the one on the defensive, not them. They are there to attack your stuff, and you are there to defend your stuff. If one of them is running you around for more than 10 seconds, you need to go look at your stuff because it means the other intruders are tinkering with it. The rats are after your cheese. Chase long enough to hit them off a Gen, or get them running from the Gen they clearly want to work on (most Survivors become fixated on the Gen they fingered, and won't often go look for the one they haven't touched yet). Patrol them, chase when/where you can. and only really commit if they run deeper into your defense zone. If they run you to the other side of the map, you got played and will lose a Gen. They are greedy, unforgiving cannibals that will sacrifice a rat to a hook so the rest and gorge themselves on your cheese. After that, it becomes mind games, game sense, and mechanical skill.
If Gens took a bit longer, or changes were made so Killers felt like more of a threat, it would be a different game. Maybe better, maybe worse. A whole new meta would pop up. Until then, you're a terrified home-maker with a knife, and those intruders are trying to break your stuff.
Lol brilliant post and totally true on how it is. To quote someone, “you’re not locked in here with me, I’m locked in here with YOU!”
-
According to some survivors the best killers play with no perks, no sound, and a blindfold!
-
Unfortunately you are not told which killer you face so you have to play with Iron Will every match to gain said benefits.
@Mekochi Human beings also only have five senses with sight and hearing being the two most powerful. We don't use taste, touch, or smell in DbD. With Spirit you are essentially taking away the greatest way people perceive their world (sight) and make decisions based on that perception. Naturally you are going to get push back because of it.
-
I have done all the challenges in 1, 2, and 3. I'm tier 52. You need to get roughly 18 tiers each tome level in order to stay on track. I've back of the napkin calculated that by doing all the challenges you get roughly 10ish tiers. You have to grind the other 80 shares or roughly 1 shard every two games so 160 games.
If you fail to get all challenges done you have to grind more. I would estimate it takes about 150-250 hours to reach tier 70. That's about 3 to 4 hours per day, everyday, in order to reach it.
TLDR: BHVR is saying without saying it, buy tiers or be prepared to play DbD a lot each rift.
-
Any tips people can give are largely of little value, just do your best and move on.
At the highest ranks swf can dominate all but a few killers or you get lucky and they screw up pretty badly.
Keep in mind that in addition to those four perks they used they get another 4-6 intel perks for free being on comms.
Added bonus they might bring strong items with addons or pick surv favored maps. There is a lot survs can do for advantage.
i actually do have some advice, use a pink mori and tunnel out one of them as quick as you can. Usually strong swf will be over altruistic, use that to your advantage.

So just a little rant if you don’t want to read you don’t have to nothing important
To those that care the basis of the match was it was a pc huntress with crosshairs streaming and once I got off hook they proceeded to slug me straight down. As you know it’s almost impossible to dodge a hatchet when they have cross hairs. So I am forced to use unbreakable to get up and even though they are in chase comes back to do it again. All in all I was left on the ground for whatever the full bleed out timer is which all started at 5 gens. I saw they stream so I went to find out why this was and they said it is because I ran ds and unbreakable (mind you these are tier 1 versions as I was playing Kate someone with like 10 perks to use) All of this being an assumption since they couldn’t know perks till after the match. But even so I didn’t try to abuse them if I’m down right in front of the hook. I used unbreakable because I’m slugged while ds never got used because she left me on the ground for 4min when at most it’s 60 seconds. So my question is how is me using perks wrong but her using crosshairs to make shots is ok in her mind?
Well that is my rant that probably won’t make much sense now I will answer the posts I know are bound to happen before they do I don’t care how anyone plays if that’s their style go ahead just makes you look bad if you have to leave someone on the ground for 4 min at 5 gens and I do also get I shouldn’t run that build with how broken it is but I ran it for the match above in case I am slugged and/or tunneled which happens a lot in this game and I can atleast admit I’m garbage on a lot of maps when it comes to looping Ive been a killer main for two years and only on survivor for about 2-3 months tops so if I am being tunneled I tend to panic and don’t want to waste too many resources so I’ll take a down and either stun or get myself up to gain distance
@LeaderoftheSaints @bjorksnas @Nicholas @handfulofrain @rogueplayer00
Just remember no matter how crappy something is unless its cheating, extreme profanity, or racial slurs, etc. BHVR will never never ever ever EVERRRRRR ban someone for:
teabagging you the whole match, flash clicky macro that fires it like a machine gun, slugging until bleed out, chain head-on stuns (any abusive perk combo really), hiding for 20 minutes and not finishing gens, waiting until EGC timer is at 1 sec to leave, and on and on.
In general knowing they are far better than you and rubbing your nose in it as long as possible while they sit on comms (surv) or tell their stream (killer) how they did naughty things to your mother. They can also tell you off tactfully in chat post game and long as they follow the guidelines they're fine. So ggez, baby killer, baby surv, no skillz, or spamming 1,000 rows of "L". Its okay.
DC penalties are so weak and often have loophole so expect that to happen often as well. Then there is a glitch where people can see who is killer so you get your add ons and item abuse in full effect as well (as killer).
I asked recently in another post to at least have a discussion around being able to personally block, maybe just a small number, the most toxic jerks you run into after a match like this. The response I got from Mandy what's her name was basically "git gud."
-
Some games make it so cheaters have to play each other, at least for awhile. It would be hilarious if in addition to the DC penalty your very next match is against other people who DC'ed.
-
BHVR is making it clear, having high mobility is a powerful tool for killers. Having insta down power is also pretty strong. Being able to do both on a single killer puts too big a spread from the weakest killers to the strongest killers. You can't have both anymore without limits.
-
@Orion if BHVR had a little tighter control over what is considered "unsportsmanlike conduct" I think 90% of the behavior would just disappear. They could probably just drop post-game chat (i know we can close it and most should) because little good comes out of it.
In game I would like for them to come up with small things to reduce stuff naturally, i.e.:
1) coming out of crouch takes a second and you can't spam it and teabag people
2) flashlight overheats or just burns out if you just spam the key, I mean serious some people click that thing 30 times in a second.
3) Hitting survivors on the hook extends by slowing down the progress meter.
Other such things like that...
-
@Orion I disagree, there are plenty of times that individuals need to censor another individual; the retail person who turns away the screaming lunatic customer, the argument that you choose not to participate in so you just walk away. We get to choose in most circumstances the people we surround ourselves with in life.
Suddenly the word competition is used and all bets are off. Besides cheating people can just be pricks because they can hide behind the anonymity of the internet? I think we should ask and demand more from people.
-
@MandyTalk thank you for the background details. Some ideas are great but just need tweaks. Sometimes our pursuit of perfection in a system gets in the way of progress don't you think?
What do you think of these small tweaks that could make it viable:
1) Limit who you can see. I'm honesty not sure what you mean by that.
2) Make it so you can only have a limited number of people who you are able to block at any given time.
3) You referenced "back in the early days", surely the size of DbD has grown by an enormous factor to allow good players to still find games?
-
Git gud on spirit, freddy, Oni, nurse, or billy. At the highest levels of this game the survivors own the show if they are coordinating, good at looping, and using their cheat-not-a-cheat comms. They report everything you do to each other. ggez baby killer.
-
@goldentattoo said:
I would phrase it a little more compassionately, but I don't understand tunneling and camping either. I'm a survivor main who recently started playing as the killer and I can get two kills without having to rely on those tactics. I don't count that as a loss because I didn't ~catch them all. That's while lagging/teleporting back to where I was two seconds ago often (just bought a PS4 to counter that). I think it's a disadvantage for the killers to tunnel and camp. They're so worried about securing that one kill that they let the other survivors gen rush and escape. Best case scenario, altruistic survivors without borrowed time try to unhook them anyway and they get an extra kill.
There's so much negatively in post game chats. That's true for all games but especially DBD. You're either competing against a four man team alone or you're weirdly competing against your own teammates as a survivor. It's a long read but if you skim this, you'll get the gist of what I mean. I think some killers are so worried about not feeling humilated post-game that they forget to have fun. I can't imagine it's much fun to stand in place and stare at someone for a minute and a half each time they hook someone. If people (survivors and killers alike) focused more on having fun, there would be less unnecessary pressure. Then they wouldn't resort to tactics that aren't fun for either side. I mean, I had a killer play peekaboo with me when I was crouched behind a box before and I think they still managed to kill three of us. It doesn't have to be so intense.
Wait until your rank 1 and there are only like 3-4 killers that are viable against a coordinated team of god loopers. Then they t-bag you, flashlight in your face, unhook like you arent even there, and once they get 4 escapes they tell you to "get d*cked on, die of cancer, you suck, ggez, etc". You're a saint if people can be so dismissive of you in game then razz you post game and you're unaffected.
-
The timezone, your rank, and number of players playing killer argument just seems soooo weak. Really, there's 18,000 people online and you can't find 4 people to put in a lobby with me for like 10 minutes?!
-
And now let's welcome the "I told you BHVR doesn't know how to code" and "what will they break next" avalanche of complain posts.
-

When playing killer against survivors that know the game, even if they are noobs at juking/looping, they succeed to do all gens in 5 minutes.
Played two times in a row against SWF high rank (they clearly knew the game), and i clearly couldn't do anything, even though i ended every chase in ~30 sec.
Gens finished in 5 minutes exactly (i recorded the game and checked), door opened instantly after.
Found the first survivor 10 seconds after spawning. Got 1 kill + 2 hooked.
Survivors didn't have any chase skill, they did some loops but nothing awesome, never lost my track.
There is a real problem with this.
Ah and, to mention it, i play surv in a great SWF, each of us goes out 90% of the time when we play together. We struggle against high skilled spirit and the hag, that's all.
The game is weird, when I play as a red rank killer with Corrupt, Ruin, BBQ, and POP the coordination of decent red rank survivors is incredible they plow through the gens. Multiple games where two gens pop by the end of the first chase. Survivors always always do ggez, and tell me how I need to die, etc.
When I jump over my red rank survivor side the teams suck. I get rank 1 (me), rank 7, rank 12, and rank 18. What the? The killer is almost always oni, spirit, doctor, deathslinger, <archive killer for challenges>
-
Just make it so a duo SWF you get 3 perks, 3-man 2 perks, and 4 man SWF each get 1 perk. Solved.
With comms you effectively get roughly 4-6 perks for free.
-
@GoodLookinCookin easy and immediate changes that would make it more bearable:
1) Every prestige level you unlock for a character you get their perks automatically at that tier (at p3 they are fully ugraded as soon as you p3)
2) Every devotion level, pick any perk you have unlocked, you now have that full unlocked for all characters.
3) Increase daily rituals and BPs from archive challenges by 200-300%
4) Increase BPs during events to 3x and make the cakes much more common.
