The solution to slugging is already in the game, and its not a perk. Its teamwork, when someone gets slugged a healthy person should go get agro, then another should pick up the slug while the first person runs the killer.

Its a 4v1, use the advantage that survivors can be in 4 different places at a time.

The OP mentions specifically not hooking the slugged people which is not any tactic, it's just griefplay.

What are you talking about? With sentences like that you are destroying all credibility in your statements. The killer can do what he wants and if you dont like it take unbreakable, but nooo you want DS and BT and Exhaustion perk and SpineChill, you dont want to killer to slug but without doing something against it.

There is a difference between slugging and letting everybody bleed out on purpose after a onesided match while nodding your head knowing you're wasting 4 people's time on purpose instead of just hooking them and getting it over with.

To be fair though isnt nurse wildly considered the only one who can battle the best swf? For instance Supaalf scrims with team Oracle before every tournament he also faces team Agony. Sometimes they win sometimes he wins. And asked if he could probably do the same with say spirit "not a chance". You gotta have some killer who can handle the top level of play who at least involves a good bit of skill on the killers part and so far nurse is the best we got.

No matter how much you want it to be, DBD is not a tournament game, never was and never will be considered for balanced.

Look, I completely agree to you, Nurse shoudl get fully reworked, her ability should be weakened a lot and her Movement Speed should be increased to compensate for that. She is outdated and should not be in the game as she currently is.

However, this does not change the fact that you do not even try to play against her. And it is very unlikely that she will get reworked at any point.

I do not get punished for not playing against her, on the contrary, if more survivors did what I do she's absolutely get a rework, this happened to other killers who were way less broken than her.

  • @Mandy said:

To play Nurse well against good survivors you do need to be good with her and yes she does take skill at that level. A nurse who's not skilled is going to have a very hard time against decent survivors who know how to play against Nurse.

I am a truly awful nurse, landing my prediction blinks when the survivor is using line of sights (as they should against Nurse) just screws me up as her completely, which is part of the reason that I don't play Nurse - it will take time for me to get good with her and I just don't have that time to put into her sadly.

Nurse is an incredibly strong killer in the right hands, there's very few solid Nurses out there though. It's actually been a long time since I've been killed by a Nurse and I'm not that good a survivor either, I've just learnt her weaknesses and how to play against her.

Who does this killer exist for? The 50 people who play this game like a tournament? She needs a rework badly, League had a Champ like this and even tho like less than 0.1% of the playerbase could play him he got nerfed because he ruined every game that he was in.

you should not need perks to counter toxic behaviour and killers letting 4 survivors bleed out on the ground instead of hooking would be banned in any other game for griefing.

If you don't want to learn how to play against, keep killing yourself and crying for nerfs.

Now, if you want to get better, go play nurse and see what you have to do to counter her

I play nurse and she's busted, I have 0 muscle memory in her and yeah sure I currently sit at green ranks because I wanna see if I can make it to R1 with trickster but since she's "so hard to play" how come I can 4k with her more easily than for example with demogorgon even with my legendary bad RNG of getting hawkins or lerys every time I play her.

I also don't even game THAT much in general anymore, like 6 hours a day in league/eve online/dark souls 3/dbd, if I was still a gamer she'd be no issue of mastering at all

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Dont want to sound rude, but why are you using Pallets against Nurse in the first place? I mean, you can stun her, but IMO it is not really worth taking the risk.

Nurse is busted, but the amount of really good Nurse players is very low, so you should have a chance in most of the games. But if you are camping Pallets against a Nurse, you are doing something wrong.

Why design a character for a "small amount of really good nurse players" and leave him busted. She's a relic of old DBD where infinites actually existed and dropping a pallet does almost nothing yeah but on some maps that's the only defence that you basically have.

  • If 60 seconds of wasted time is not good then pop goes the weasel would be terrible by survivor standards. Heck I watched a youtuber call aftercare bad, a perk that gives you info at all times once you unhooked somebody.

Just because you have to play around a perk or it may turn the tide does not make them comparable.

Ruin may turn the tide and you need to play differently around that

Devour may turn the tide and you need to play differently around that

Borrowed time may turn the tide and you need to play differently around that

even well make it may turn the tide and you need to play differently around that if suvs gain a full reset off it

I could even say Left behind may turn the tide by getting the suv the hatch just before you, is it likely no is it possible yes

The only comparison between NOED and DS is the community's perception ragging on both perks unfairly imo you will get survivors that when they see NOED as the final perk will just assume you must be trash even if you just 4kd them and didn't even need to use it while killers may end a game see 4 DS and just sigh and assume that the game was unwinnable when it clearly probably was.

Except DS literally makes the game harder at every stage while NOED only works against altruistic survivors most of the time or survivors who don't do bones which IS an objective that the devs have intended.

DS kills an entire playstyle (tunneling) and kills a killer's momentum without any counter to it except not running obsession perks and hoping that there's no DS.

With all of your mentioned perks you DEFINATELY know they're in the match, tell me about 1 other perk in this game that makes killers waste this much time because they don't want to eat it. If there's no obsession in the game they'll play entirely different.

Lit totems are a bad example as survivors will ALWAYS break them ideally when somebody is injured and in chase in case it's haunted but that's abut it.

There's plenty of differences between DS and NOED and I don't know why NOED even needs to be brought up

The only way NOED and DS are comparable is that they can help you after you make a error.

also NOED is not being used and treated by the devs as a mechanic to prevent anything like how DS a perk they keep trying to treat like a mechanic to prevent tunnelling so if its usages goes down tunnelling goes up.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2024369#Comment_2024369

If you want to say why that's not a counter you just need to point to unbreakable DS (I don't think unbreakable should allow you to pick yourself up anyway and then DS should be left alone because by itself its not broken but built around it just is)

DS and NOED are comparable because they need to be played around by the offchance that they're in the match and if you don't keep them in mind they turn the tide.

except they wouldn't lose a hook state because they wouldn't be doing something so abrasive you would get an easy down.

That's also not an argument as most survivors still do stupid crap. The survivorplayer in me wants DS to stay this way, have you played games without obsessions? They're agitating as killers will just tunnel the ######### out of people and it's not rare that the weak link is gone within 2 minutes.

DS is basically survivor's NOED, the looming threat of them having it is enough to influence gameplay but NOED is way less powerful than DS.

    nope, never said that?

Twins are very rare. Myers and Trappers i see often actually. Not more than Freddy though.

i see slightly more Blights than Freddys. And why wouldn’t you believe that? Because your experience differs?

Stats tell otherwise. Also blight is part of the bottom of the killrates while not being THAT hard to play.

Are we gonna say that a measly 50% killrate killers are viable now?

actually i see more Blights than Freddys

    Suuure.

many people here on the forums think they intentionally created this killer to be weak and only to be fun to play against as survivor.

probably the same people that said stuff like this before Blights release. I don’t think many admitted afterwards they were wrong though..

Who's blight, haven't seen that killer for almost a month now. Only thing I see are freddies, Nurses because of the challenge spirits and MAYBE bubba.

  • @RoachesDelight said:

So I decided to take it upon myself a couple of weeks back to record my data in red ranks for solo survivor. I recorded the stats for around 100 games and what I found, at least for me was that DS is a waste of a perk. Most killers will leave you slugged and wait for the timer to run out or the tunneling will just be a nonissue. So to me I would just rather not run DS as a solo as majority of the time its obsolete and therefore a waste of a perk slot for me.

That's 60 seconds of wasted time each time you go down after a hook, I hope you don't think POP is good then.

But prioritizing the PRIMARY objective isn't what you're supposed to do....because it's primary?

There are situations where doing all 5 totems is pretty much impossible (for example a 3 gen situation, the survivors must try their hardest to take the killers attention while the rest do gens, if the survivor team can't find the last totem, which is kinda common)

This 1 in 1000 scenario feels punishing

So who told you that gens are the primary objective?

When depip Squad just pissed out gens the devs were like "yeah....that doesn't prove anything".

Don't be such a sensationalist. DS can be annoying, but it is equally counterable.

Stop calling that crap a counter, if you down a survivor who you know has DS and don't pick him up the perk still did it's job because otherwise he'd lose a hook-state. The only actual counter to DS is if you down a DS user and you see a chaseable-target which good killers already go for anyways.

You’re forgetting that no such game existed beforehand. They had no template, or previous successful attempts at asymmetrical multiplayer slasher horror to use as reference.

They were having to learn as they went along. You can’t expect people to magically know how things are going to work perfectly when no one else has ever done it before to provide guidance.

That is the same Kind of weak attitude on why germans have one of the worst internet and services in general around the world right now. I prefer to push others to their limit instead of babying their abilities.

It does not take a genius to see that such design is a failure once you PLAYTEST your own game

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ej1rl2nd_9E

I want to play against a new killer from time to time, I played against the twins like what, 5 times IN GENERAL SINCE THEIR RELEASE. Might as well not make a new killer then if the only thing I face about them is their perks.

I criticise dev decisions where I feel it’s warranted. But I also have the humility to understand I am one person, I am not a game developer, and it’s simply embarrassing and foolish to think that game developers don’t know how to make their own game.

Could you imagine if that was our attitude towards car manufacturers? People that don’t have any idea about mechanical engineering claiming “they don’t know how to make cars. We’ve been driving for years! Why won’t they listen to us?!”

Nice appeal to authority but no, plenty of game devs have shown that they have absolutely no insight about games. Have you looked at old DBD where it was impossible for the killer to kill survivors with a brain?

  • @MysticalMagic92 said:

??? I have never had an issue hitting good survivors as Huntress, and I rarely see any Huntress players struggle against almost any survivor even before dedicated servers when her hatchets were semi-reasonable. You might wanna look at some guides if you're struggling against good survivors, ScottJund's Huntress guide is still relevant.

    https://youtu.be/IQRDijaX5Io

Oh great you can do "good" in her, tell me why would I play her over Nurse/Freddy/Spirit if you nerfed her hatchets EVER?

I don't play her aside from depipping in the first place because my monitor is ######### huge and when I play at daytimes I can literally not see a thing on most maps anyways so for me there's absolutely 0 interest in getting better with her. I don't play this game enough to care.

Killer Hitboxes in general are absolutely fine and do not need fixing, I already hate how I don't hit jackshit when playing oni.

No, it’s just human nature. Streamers want videos of them owning. I’m not gonna give it to them easily.

I’d rather have them getting slaughtered and viewers wondering why they are streaming in the first place. And I do it for free, no money needed.

Funfact: most ppl watch streamer for the personality, otherwise Marth88 would be a top DBD streamer since he's arguably one of the best killers in this game

  • My counter to spirit is just to suicide on first hook.

  • Ruin basekit would be insane. I'd rather have them speed up gen regression after kicking to make kicking worth it in the first place.

  • So? still requires more skill than most things in this game.

And most of the time survivors profit from hitboxes in this game against most killers.

  • Another 2% pickrate killer then I guess

  • that buff would still be trashtier as there'd still be no reason to play him over plague, deathslinger or huntress.

Main event needs to not use ammo and last WAY longer while also make him run at 110% while holding his knives.

  • Survivors are a crutch, 4 survivors every game.

  • BT needs a buff: Survivors who basically just want 10 survivorperks to be in the game while the rest could be removed.

I've never heard of anyone else arguing this for deathslinger and PH especially while also not mentioning freddy. I've played games against really good players of each and did well. Hag isn't as bad as a lot of people make her out to be. I could see a better case for spirit or nurse though

The killrate argument when talking about balance goes out the window anyways when you consider that nurse has 40% killrate while being the strongest killer in the game next to a gamer-headset spirit or forever-freddy.

I didn't even read all you wrote, same i don't want to sound condescending but everything you write is comparing said killer against SWF.

"He lacks map control so exploit it and gen rush" ye ok in SWF, what about team of soloQ/duoQ which represents 95% of trials in red ranks ? Ah ye, no coutner.

The devs themselves said don't look at killrates.

There's a ton of factors that make killrates higher than they would normally be:

Altruism and a "we all escape" mentality more often than not kills 1 or even all 3 additional survivors.

The only Riftchallenges on killer that would dampen their killrates are the ones that require specific killers thus making for example ghostfacemains play nurse while most other Riftchallenges can be done with normal gameplay and slight perk alteration which so happens to be not much of a big deal on killers since killers have mostly mediocre perks anyways. (No, Pop is not even close to stuff like DS/DH) while Survivor Riftchallenges basically require them to throw the game more often than not.

Holding M1 is boring as ######### so many survivors will actually go out of their way to engage with the killer while killers often look for weak links.

Survivor achievements also are heavily slanted against survivors while killerachievements are mostly not except for stuff like Twins if you try to brute-force those.

Survivors are playing with their friends to have a good time most of the time while the killer sits there alone and has the only objective to kill 4 survivors, who's gonna play more sweaty?

Did I mention over-altruism? Trying to rescue against bubba/NOED etc?

    If all survivors did was:

    Not 3 gen themselves

Hold W as soon as the killer comes and die FAR off the gens or run away from gens.

    Do gens

At most send 1 person to save

    No altruism in endgame

Then killrates would be MUCH lower but the game would be boring to death.

Just watch depip squad, yeah they're expert survivors but NOTHING that they did cannot be done by most people, since most maps are so resource heavy that predropping 1 of those 20+ pallets does not matter if all your teammates just hold m1 while you try to run the killer in a different area.

All that is in theory and it's why it doesn't matter since almost nobody plays like this. As McLean said when asked about it: "So what".

  • He's already botton 5 of the killer killrates, why would he need a nerf?

He doesn't that's the joke rofl.

  • @BeardedScrub said:

For this game to be "balanced" most killer mains are asking to be able to kill 4 survivors most matches...

Even if you get 4 kills HALF of your matches and 2 kills your other matches, that averages out to 3 kills per match. That means 3 out of every 4 survivors won't make it!!!

In what world is that "balanced"?

In solo q, I don't know if our squad makes it out alive even 10% of the time. And in a full squad we maybe make it out 20% of the time.

When you get a killer with certain perks and add-ons, like Freddy, Spirit, even the Hag with her traps, these killers can be virtually impossible to beat.

Then we have killer mains on here whining all day because they are getting t-bagged...

If you aren't getting 2 to 4 kills every match (meaning the game is balanced towards killer) then you absolutely suck.

Of course we should nerf DS, and if we keep the game in the state it's in, n I'm okay, but please, if you are going to nerf anything survivor, nerf the traps of the Hag, nerf Freddy or the Spirit.

Yes we have a problem with q times. That's the only reason why they cater so much to killers. They have to or the game won't survive so I'm okay with it. But killers: a successful match isn't 4k or bust, and again, if you aren't getting 2k or more in most matches, you suck, even my friend who's new to the game can play underpowered killers and get 2 kills each match

Even the best killers in the game will occasionally have a 0k unless they facecamp somebody or play ridiculously dirty, your post is biased as hell and you should feel bad.

Sometimes MAPRNG will either give you a win or ######### you over with 20 pallets back to back.

And your friend probably plays in brown/green ranks when he's new, even redranks has a ton of potatoes playing overly altruistic throwing themselves at the killer.

And the fact that you think killers are OP makes me think you don't have much experience in the game. Only Freddy and Nurse can be considered OP in my Eyes and Freddy still gets wrecked by certain maps an good survivors.

  • @Axe said:

how would they fix it? How would the "fix" work for people who play on 4:3 and 16:10 monitors?

That's sadly the biggest issue, many DBDplayers also play nothing but DBD so some would probably just get a new monitor.

  • @Katzengott said:

You want more FOV? Use Shadowborn (a perk slot)! Changing the gamefiles should be bannable.

It only isn't, because they don't know how to track it. Or they're scared to lose this part of the playerbase.

Not only strechted res + more fps gives both sides an advantage, brighten screens are way more common. It says all when people come into Tru3s stream and ask him why his game looks so dark. Well, thats how's the game supposed to be, for everyone! Because it's an asymmetrical, comepetive HORRORGAME. Now think about console players who can't change anything. Fair, right? And please don't come with the "just turn crossplay off if you don't like it" arguement. I just want the same rules for EVERYONE.

There's no sense arguing with cheaters lol. And yeah all that you mentioned is basically cheating.

The people here defending such crap would argue that using a bigger Racket would not be an advantage since "everybody can do it".

I don't even see what's to discuss here, you're getting an unfair advantage you should be banned, this would happen in ANY other big game but Bhvr is too afraid to "attack" it's content creators.

Does stretched res give an unfair advantage not intended by the devs over people who do not use stretched res and play the game as intended?

I very rarely see hook suicides. Saying that those are common is a blatant lie.

it's heavily dependant on rank and what you play or how you play.

  • Because survivors play for fun, if they played for efficiency like killers mostly do then the killrates would be much lower but think about this: How many times does faecamping work?

How many times do 3 survivors die because they want to rescue 1 person in endgame who is far away from the gates.

Survivors are trying to make plays while playing with their friends, killers are solo so the chance of them sweating is MUCH higher.

  • Ill leave against nurse, no interest in a busted concept, I dont care if somebody plays this game like a religion and the more ppl leave/kill themselves on first hook against her the faster she gets another rework

You're also coming at it from the angle like you're going against a full team all running ds when we both know that isn't the case. When I play killer 50% of the matches no one has it and the rest you myn't see one maybe two at best.

Bur clearly you're only looking at it from the killers perspective and not taking both sides into account so you believe what you want to believe.

DS especially comes to play when a Killer is applying very high pressure. It Turns an easy win into a struggle, I especially eat DS when playing freddy because chases dont last long and map pressure is high. It's terrible design, I play to relax not to sweat.

Absolutely nothing comes close to DS, no NOED also doesn't come close to DS.

DS is useful ALL Game and wastes more time than ANY other killer perk including pop goes the weasel which only shaves a measily 20 seconds off of a gen compared to DS giving you even by just holding W at least 20 seconds of new chase time PER survivor.

And I was talking about old MOM just haven't clarified it.

Why even have perks like Red Herring if ######### like DS just breaks the game completely?

If a survivor gets unhooked and run towards the gate and get downed there they either crawl out or you get ds'd with how it is now so it doesn't make any difference. Besides with that logic BT shouldn't be a thing in end game because they can just tank a hit and get away without you being able to stop them either.

Because that gate is always next to the hook or even near, right?

Survivors do not need even more safe spaces, most maps are survivor-safespaces already. You have 100 perks to chose from stop whining after DS, killers have NOTHING even close to DS, the only thing would be RUIN and that can just be cleansed EASILY.

Stop using broken ######### like old MoM (which btw straight up made me quit the game) and DS and play the game for fun.

If it's endgame you would get ds'd regardless if they have it so it makes no difference.

there's a big difference between 60 seconds of crawling and 3+ minutes of crawling especially with tenacity. That would bring you from 1 gate to the other and the killer would be powerless to stop you. Your DS would be buffed, survivors would just save it up till last hook and have an absolutely free endgame escape, securing kills would not be a thing anymore.
