You aren't keeping pressure. You're losing pressure because you spend the whole time chasing them only to down them and have them get up again in less than half a minute. They don't even have to lose Unbreakable if anybody on their team comes to save them. Including somebody they may be on comms with, which pretty much guarantees they can save their free self-pickup. Tell me how that's "keeping" pressure instead of "losing" it.

And no, your first paragraph didn't become biased because of other people. It turned biased when you typed it up that way. As far as I can tell, you haven't done any edit to it, so it is in its original form. Remind me please how that is the fault of other people not "making great points"?

Anyway, your easy answer isn't all that great. If I did that every game I'd be walking away with no kills very often. That's if you could even know for sure somebody has either Unbreakable or DS. Let alone both.

You clearly don't understand how to keep pressure that well karen. Oh THe TeAMmatEs aRe BeiNg HelPFul To ONe oF theIr tEamATes and NoT doiNG ThE objECtivE. YEah No PrESsure aT alL

Like this one said, you already have your mind made up. I mean, if you can't figure out why people dislike a perk for rewarding bad play, then I don't know what I could possibly say to make you understand. Only thing though, "sanctioned cheating" isn't cheating, because it's sanctioned.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1524565#Comment_1524565

So, somebody brings DS+Unbreakable and runs in to make insanely stupid plays right in front of your face. If it's easy to play around, tell me what you do in that situation to play around that.

I personally dislike certain perks, and it might affect my view of how I see a player, but that doesn't mean I'm going to act like they're not allowed or whatever. I just think it's dishonest to say that "it's players who are not particularly good at the game who complain about them." I know people don't like when people use streamers for examples, but honestly a lot of the higher profile streamers that I watch happen to actually kind of know how the game works, and it's unanimous among them how unfair some certain things are. They aren't "not particularly good," if you ask me.

I don't even want to make it about "this perk vs. this perk." I just think it's simply dishonest to try to frame things how you did.

It's turning biased because some of yall aren't making great points lol. An easy answer to your question is slug. "What if they have unbreakable???" You are still keeping pressure because you render them useless for the time they need to pick themselves up and then they can't use it again.

  • What i'm hearing from some of you is that a survivor shouldn't run a survival or second chance build.

You guys are acting like you can use the perks anytime you want without any prerequisites.

  • Even if it wasn't swf well then I guess that sucks.

Explain to me how 4 DS, Adrens, BTs and Unbreakables is not OP? Without saying "Oh, what are the odds of you running into that?"

Considering it's already happened to me id say the odds are pretty damn good :P

Bruh this sounds like a swf we aren't talking about that because that is probably the only op thing the outshines everything else.

You have a nice take on the meaning of "crutch" and made it fit the narrative you created 🤩

Unfortunately, the actual definition (I found) does not support your own definition of a crutch. Closest reference to a crutch within the context you are looking for is 🧐

"a thing used for support or reassurance."

Which doesn't fit NOED at all 😆

NOED doesn't provide ANY support for 95% - 99% of the game. And what kind of reassurance can one have that not all the totems will be cleansed before NOED could be of any use whatsoever? There is no such reassurance. The Killer has to wait . . and see 🤷‍♂️

    On the other hand . . .

Decisive Strike does provide support for a Survivor who is unable to evade the Killer after being unhooked.

    &

Unbreakable does provide reassurance that if a Killer slugs to avoid getting hit by Decisive Strike that they can still get up from the dying state.

    You are welcome 😇

    I like this one.

  • For the 2nd and 3rd one it is just BBQ the perk. The 1st one definitely needs more context.

  • I'm pretty sure since this is a new thing the devs are working with that they don't want it to be extreme just yet. They will probably wait until they almost perfected it that is if they ever do.

  • Seriously this isn't a rare occurrence in the world.

  • Well you're playing an online multiplayer game so it's not because the community has a toxic side. It's because some people are toxic. Just grow thicker skin if you're playing any online multiplayer game. Or just don't play any online game idk.

Hello fellow survivor mains. I am a survivor main myself and I just wanna say, Let's try to be nicer to the killers who aren't toxic. Ik Both sides of the game have some Toxic People, but to the people who aren't toxic and just are trying to play, Let's try and be nicer to them. Especially if they are newer to playing killer and Don't know what they are doing. Let's try and be kind people to one another. And Ik ik, some killers have certain playstyle's they like that we don't ,but we do as well; have playstyle's we like but they dislike. Let's try and remember that at the end of the day we all Play this game to have Fun. So yeah, Love y'all and be safe out there during these Hard times ✌

YO THAT WAS ME!!! jk but that's one nice dude

  • They are literally second chance perks. Saying that they are viewed differently is mostly false. It's either that you are oblivious on what people have been discussing recently or that you play with potatoes most of the time.

I play a lot of Pig and I believe that she's a go to for learning how to play killer

She has stealth and you'll learn how to use it

A 32m TR (normal) so perks that deal with TR you can learn on her

Her power is lethal when it's applied and a gen is done... you'll learn how to control the gens (she wants the gens to be done but when she wants them done)

    I run:

    Sloppy

    Corrupt

    BBQ

    Whispers

And I do have all kinds of games (0k's to 4k's) oh and yes heads were popped in the making of this

Lol, I might actually mess around with some pig. Thank you

Although this is basic information it isn't bad. Sometimes people in this game forget what fun is. Thank you

  • @Samwise444 said:

Tip 1: Look at where the Gens are at the beginning of the game. When doing that determine where there is a cluster of gens that you can turn into a viable three gen, since the games won't be quick at first. You need to acknowledge that you will lose gens and control it so that when you are losing gens, you actually are gaining the advantage. The example I give is purposefully giving up both second floor gens in hawkins. You are shortening their play area and removing strong loops.

Tip 2: Don't chase people around easily chainable loops unless they are in the area you are trying to protect. If they are in that area, go ham and remove all the pallets in the area.

Tip 3: Don't go for the meta perks and choose perks that compliment your gameplay. There are some people that run BBQ and Chili and then just camp the hook where the survivor on. Utterly stupid.

Tip 4: Actually know the weaknesses of you killer and how you can exploit them. A survivor player like you will probably know how to run around some killer. Acknowledge that possibility and with your knowledge exploit it.

Tip 5: While it seems simple, don't break every pallet. There are a lot of unsafe pallets in this game.

    Killers to start with:

Honestly if you are new to killer, start with the basics. If you start with complex killer, you will learn skills that will make it difficult to pick up other killer.

    Trapper for Set-Up Killers

    Perks:

    1. Nurse's Calling
    2. Save the Best for Last
    3. Infectious Fright
    4. Corrupt Intervention

Tracker needs time to set up his network, so use ruin or corrupt to slow down the early game. Infectious fright and Save the best for last compliment each other for quick downs. Finally, Nurse's Calling will help track people injured by traps.

    Wraith for Stealth Killers

    Perks:

    1. Thantaphobia
    2. Nurse's Calling
    3. Pop Goes the Weasel
    4. BBQ and Chili, Enduring, or Whispers

Wraith has several functions, but hit and run tactics are best. Get another tracking perk and Nurse's Calling to located area people are in and then accurately predict their location when cloaked. Thantaphobia will slow down the game and Pop will slow it even more with the easy downs.

Bubba or Billy for 1 Down Killers

    Perks:

    1. Spirit Fury
    2. BBQ and Chili
    3. Enduring
    4. Billy: Make your Choice Bubba: Pop Goes the Weasel

Many people will utilize pallets to stop the automatic down. By utilizing Spirit Fury you turn that against them. Enduring will also help you if you get stunned. Billy is high mobility so you can utilizing bbq and chili for quick 1 shot downs. For Bubba, you can kill multiple survivors at once and see if people are grouped together. Finally, make your choice on billy is a fail safe because good survivors can juke a chainsaw. Zoom over and just use your hammer to down someone. For Bubba, you want to slow down the game.

    Huntress for Ranged Killers

    Perks:

    1. BBQ and Chili
    2. Corrupt Intervention
    3. Nurses Calling
    4. Whispers

This is the standard Huntress build. Her lethality is extreme, but due to her slow move speed, you need to slow down the game for the first few minutes and need to be able to track.

Doctor for Chase based/anti looping Killers

    Perks:

    1. Overcharge
    2. Distressing
    3. Hunter's Lullaby
    4. Unnerving Presence

This build will severely screw over any gen progress and you can focus on putting people in madness and chases. It is the impossible skill check build.

While there are more interesting killers, once you learn these killers, you will be able to transfer to other killers in their categories.

Thanks for this very informative information. Very much appreciated.

Alright, bear with me lad, first killer recommendation.

First, Deathslinger, why ? Because he Hinhinhin. If you are good at fps deathslinger gets real good real fast, also ton of fun.

Oni, why ? He teaches you how to snowball, he is really good and he bonks.

Clown, why ? Because you think survivor having to do only 3 gens instead of 5 is a good idea.

In fact, play whoever, you won't care in the long run, nobody cares, do you ? I don't.

    NEXT.

Strong build for wraith ? Here you go : Corrupt, Nurse's calling, Thrilling Tremors, Pop goes the weasel. WHere did I find it ?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIDI_YChbsY

THERE, great video, every killer gets a reliable and really usable build that can also be adapted to your perks and preference.

    NEXT.

How to win games quick ? YOU DON'T FOOL. The point is to harass two weaklings, you get one then you get the other, smack any moron trying to defend them, mind the DS, mind the BT, slug them. Find your first survivor, get a hit or a pallet out of him, then go harass another one, repeat, if you think you can down him in a reasonable, actually kill them. LEARN HOW TO MINDGAMES, basically, show your red stain, make them think you are going one direction, but you actually moonwalking to the other. WAIT.THE.FREAKING.DEAD.HARD.

    NEXT.

How to win against SwF : Hope they are terrible.

    LAST TIP.

You are going to lose, you are going to get flamed, teabagged, abused, accused and they are gonna take your kids, your wife and your job, but don't let it get to you, ignore the survivors, breathe, game's fun and you don't have to ruin your fun because the other side was dropped as a baby.

Can I call you my dad?

  • You can still change your loadout so...

  • Killers who complain about ds on how it's actually supposed to be used is very cringe and usually biased. The fix/nerf you talked about is one of the worst i've heard honestly. Any decent survivor can loop a killer for at least half a minute or longer. This thread clearly shows how much skill you have. If you want an actual fix it's that you can only use it once after you've been unhooked and it lasts for 30 seconds at tier one, Tier 3 40 seconds. It pauses the timer anytime the survivor is in a chase. It gets deactivated immediately if the killer hooks someone else after you while the perk is active. You see there simple. Complain about something that you understand well instead of just sputing this nonsense. I agree with your thread only on how the color ranks usually play it out with the perk. That's it.

  • Although I'm not a killer main on ps4 (I play on ps4) I am a Survivor main. Many people think that just because someone chooses a side in this game that one should be shunned. Which is either people who are brain dead or people who lack sympathy. I fully understand this and honestly I agree with your choice of taking a break. All the times I solo que and either get called a toxic swf because of my crappy teammates who are unfortunately a swf or I just dc because a 3 man swf that sucked ass and farmed each other after every hook; makes me just want to delete the data and start over, make an alt and just give the killers the kill, or just stop. You all can say i'm just butthurt or it's not often this happens just makes me hope that when cross plat beta comes out that I only get pc killers

  • Want to leave a comment but I already know the second someone tries to shed some light on these people someone is going to ######### at me

  • I also think it might and most likely be pyramid head. The 4 year anniversary banner looks like pyramid head.

  • I know this sounds kinda stupid but... my theory is that the new killer might be predator. As much as I would love to see Candyman I think this is also looking a lot like predator. I mean people have been saying that there is a flying sound in the game files and I was thinking what if it were predator releasing those bug things. I'm not sure which franchise has that thing though. It's either alien or predator that has bug things flying around attacking people. If I'm not mistaken there was some predator things going around in the community in 2018. I remember some shrine watch with Hybridpanda and he showed some predator looking thing in dbd. Tbh I think predator wouldn't be that bad either.

  • It's because people complained about him being weak. He was actually pretty balanced. Most of the complaints were about how long it takes to pull into the dream world and how easy it was to wake up. Now he is a killer that makes most matches boring. He is too easy to play. No actual skill has to be used when playing Freddy. Sure any Freddy main can argue about this but I and probably most people see him as an easy killer that can get you to purple and red ranks very easily. Might as well call him the teleporting trapper rather than a dream demon.

  • Thanks for the help and rip my spacebar

  • I'm not gonna lie this the only reason I stopped going into the forums. So I thank you for saying this.

Wouldn’t it be in the Killers best interest to get rid of the Survivor who loops well as fast as possible? I mean, if they loop well, several gens should have popped. If they committed to the chase, caught them, and camped them, wouldn’t it be their right to camp, to make sure the pita is gone? Especially with all the second chance perks Killers have to worry about, why would they not camp?

Well most killers can stop loops very easily. I play killer and usually dominate the survivors. I am back at green though. Mainly because rank reset

  • @Runcore said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1000497#Comment_1000497

Its legit tactic and its balanced. By camping killer loses so much time that rest of team can finish 1-2 gens so its fair trade + hook proximity. Plus survivors has perks to counter it like DS, BT or deliverance. Any playing with this mechanism will lead to huge nerf of killers again.

You make a really good point but what do you mean again?

  • @ReallyBigShoe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1000472#Comment_1000472

I mean, there will always be some players like that. You also need to keep in mind, camping is only viable because survivors allow it to be viable. Survivors have all the tools at their disposal to both prevent, and punish it.

Well said. Not much to say because it was very well said

  • @Runcore said:

Campers are totaly ok. Its kind of trade. If He is camping one survivor, you can progress gens. It will buy you a lot of time. Totaly fair.

Lol yeah it is fun when the killers don't realize that. Not so much for the camped survivor though :/. Plus the killer doesn't pip and neither does that survivor so even bigger sad

  • Also I think this was discussed earlier too. Lol

  • @BenZ0 said:

    @YehBoiGoku

You do realize that if a survivors loops the killer next to the hook they can abuse your WONDERFULL pusnihment? And sometimes you fight against really altruistic swf groups that goes instantly for the save the second you leave the hook, in this situation you have 2 or 3 survivors that stay near to that hook and wait until you leave it, in that case a smart killer would just stay on the hook because survivors waste their time and not do gens.

Here I tried to explain that to you but I bet you will not understand this at all

No dude that is clear I thought you didn't understand lmao.

  • @ReallyBigShoe said:

I think there are campers, of course. However, I think campers are far less common than people think or would have you believe.

"Killer hooked me, saw my team mates around the hook (or scratch marks) and didn't leave the hook, so he camped". That's pretty much the standard. If I know someone is near, I'm not going anywhere.

No i mean 5 gens left and just stares at the survivor or the survivor just loops them well with no toxicity and just gets them and camps but still good point

  • @BenZ0 said:

Horrible idea and only survivor sided, nice bait btw

Bait? XD I bet you might be one of those campers. I don't really care about people trying to hate. This is punishment for hook campers. They want to ruin another person's day well they are pretty messed up so it benefits the survivors because if the killer just wants to be a douche to some survivors playing for fun then I guess be punished for trying to ruin someone's day

  • @Mringasa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1000360#Comment_1000360

Yeah. It's why I personally would patrol rather than actual Camp. When you camp, you put 0 pressure on Survivors and they can pretty much run wherever they want and blow you out of the match. If you are patrolling though, lots of things you can check in the vicinity without getting too far from the hook to get back there and either interrupt a save attempt, or get an easy hit in to begin another chase/hook event. I actually don't do either, but I'm sitting in low ranks right now until I can play a bit and get back to the purples.

Slugging, I hate it... but it really is necessary in some instances. I can feel the pain when 3 generators pop as you're hooking your first Survivor. You have to do something to slow down the pace of the game and give you time to get in some chases and hooks. And really, the absolute best thing is to slug someone. Especially if there's already one person on the hook. Slug the next, then go back to the hook and engage the rescuer and/or the unhooked one. You can get all the Survivors off of gens really quickly with a simple strategy.

It's just so annoying as a Survivor. It does have it's place as a strategy, but it's definitely not fun to be on the receiving end of it. Just the same as Camping though, when someone is slugging at 5 gens left, you know they are just a toxic moron out to ruin everyone elses' game because someone pissed in their Cheerios that morning. Those types of games I'll crawl to the most out of the way place and hope I can get a wiggle out, just to extend the game, get a few more BP, and maybe have someone get the hatch. Nothing more satisfying than to have Killer Tryhard Toxicass get outplayed because of an Unbreakable, Flip Flop, or similar Perk and someone gets the hatch on them.

    Well said. Now PREACH IT

  • @Mringasa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1000205#Comment_1000205

There are times when you need to camp a bit at higher ranks. Not at 5 gens left of course, but if you have a bunch of overly altruistic Survivors, camping a hook when a couple gens are done can net you some rewards. It's just really risky at high ranks because good Survivors will go back to gens when they see a Killer camping. You are better off light/heavy patrolling rather than a standing around camp though, because that keeps you mobile and can make potatoes think you are moving off the hook instead of coming immediately back to it in a few seconds.

Personally, I'd rather slug if I need to put indirect "pressure" on gens because it's minimal risk with a healthy reward. 1 player down, at least 1 person healing them, and me with a chance to get in a chase with another for a down. So that leaves 1 person on gens, or best case none if 2 go to heal the downed person. This also carries it's own inherent risks. SWF and the downed person has Unbreakable, no one leaves gens. Or something similar.

At low ranks, both strats are not needed because it's low ranks... but up into the reds, camping will net you some rewards if you notice Survivors behaving in altruistic and "must unhook as soon as possible" manners.

fwiw though, Camping is a legitimate strategy per the Developers, so I doubt anything beyond the -emblem malus will happen. If done improperly, or the Survivors just do gens, the Killer is punished badly for it.

So you are just checking the area for VERY altruistic survivors? I don't think that counts as camping unless you stay there for a large proportion of the match. Also, THANK GOD someone that plays killer mentioned slugging. Some of the killers just said survivors are toxic and need to be nerfed

  • @Endstille said:

Maybe it is due to recent announced changes? Like you ruin the fun of somebody he is gonna ruin yours in return.

That would make a lot of sense seeing as some survivors try and ruin the killers day so yeah I guess it would make sense to try and ruin the survivors day. Though camping is as scummy as looping and other things that I can't quite remember.
