You won too much and now you're being punished for it. All these people are focusing on the wrong thing. It's important to metagame your MMR.
You need to get a feel for your MMR where you are comfortable at or you'll have incredibly swingy games. If the game is too easy and you're stomping? Hard throw. Let them reset. Let 2-3 leave. If you kill all 4 your MMR will spike and the next game will probably be miserable due to how MMR is calculated. Eventually you'll end up at a sweet spot where it's challenging but not impossible.

In my personal experience, if you go AFK it will fast become boring for survivors.
I've played games where I just left, made a whole ass panini and some tea, came back and the survs were still clicking at me and vaulting around the map. They're like toddlers when they don't get the attention they crave.
-
You are a true cowboy enthusiast, my friend. Unhooking from a distance is a genuinely interesting idea though.
-
More punitive action for someone doing something you don't like in a game. Why are people like this?
Also: what is tunneling? Define it.

We have incentive now. It’s enough.
My perspective has always been that killers need to have a slight edge in order to entice people into the role. It's inherently stressful and bad games on killer feel far more demoralizing than bad games on survivor because it is all on your failing. No distribution of blame. Whereas people are always gonna want to goof off with their friends regardless and when you lose as surv it doesn't feel like a big deal.
-
It won't be added because people would play it for like a week and then never again.
-
@Murgleïs said:
Nope, the game has to remain survivor sided to be successful. You don’t make a product for 1/5 of your playerbase.
Silly perspective.
You don't have a game at all without that missing portion. The killer buff patch happened because survivor queues were skyrocketing and hampering the ability of the majority to consistently play the game. I was queuing with my friends for 10+ minutes regularly at some point. Look at VHS: that kind of wait time will make people just not play your game. Neglecting more than half the content you produce is also ridiculous.
-
Most people get a sting of anxiety when they queue as killer. It's a big part of why it's the less popular role.
When I boot up clown or whatever I just assume I'm going to lose a few games. I'm not running meta perks and I'm playing a bad killer so I set my expectations low.
-
This is just how video games are. Whenever a hero in overwatch, dota, League etc etc sees a lot of play they incite ire. Perks and killers are the equivalent here.
Generally I'm also in favor of the "if everything is busted, nothing is" philosophy, but DBD is a more restrained game than others. I think that's in it's favor. Less power creep.

If they were to remove all gen perks for both killers and survivors today, the game would improve in an incredible way
This would hit killers way way worse than survivors. How do people think these things are equivalent?
-
It's really weird to have a whole suite of addons dedicated to status effects for guards, who are not supposed to even hit survivors reliably.
-
Of course not. They don't have the developer bandwidth for it. If anyone thinks they're going to buff low tier killers in like batches they are in for disappointment. It took years to even marginally tweak the nurse. To make iri hatchets have a max cap of 1. Looking at the past, how could anyone conceivably expect anything else?

Ye I do play those killers chill. Why do you go in defensive mode, so you won't have survivors to kill? xd 🤭
You are projecting emotions and intent onto my post that are simply..... Not there. I'm calling you out on your entitlement in a way that hopefully makes you think about it. Apparently not.
-
This turns it into "if you take the time to kick a gen and down a survivor before it's done, you get 10% regression on that gen"
Does that seem like a worthwhile perk? Be realistic; nobody cares about skill checks. So just look at the core of the thing.
-
You know actual humans just like you play those killers? Why should they have long queues because of your preferences?
-
Wonder how these folks are gonna feel when the accessibility thing for survs is just a blanket buff and everyone has it on all the time because why wouldn't you?
Meanwhile hard of hearing folk who have the temerity to want to play mean ole killer just have to suffer because your accessibility only matters if you play one side. Ludicrous and hateful.
-
Absolutely. Couldn't agree more.
-
I haven't even seen noed in months.
-
I don't feel like commenting on the rest of your post, but I'll just say that I do not under any circumstances want people to know my perks. The last thing I need in this toxic ass game is someone following me around dropping pallets because I brought deception or whatever they feel like being upset over.

Imagine not being able to control it for 25s :D
Anyway - argument that eruption already does this is bad argument. Eruption is overtuned. That's also why it's going to be changed. And while I agree that 6s of blast mine would still probably don't do enough to be meta perk, there's still a good reason not to buff it. The sheer amount of annoyance people will get from it means, that even current 4s feels like eternity (even if from game's perspective the perk is pretty meh).
If you know eruption is a problem and irrelevant to this discussion, why even mention it? It's obviously problematic and needs changing. There's no need to compound unpleasant things in the game just because there are already unpleasant things.
-
Six seconds of not being able to control your character in a video game would feel awful.
-
The shakeup thing consistently will alienate players. It's tiresome to have to relearn the game all the time.
The first one was fine though. Those perks had been the same for years.
-
There are four of you.
-
Couldn't agree more.
-
If they were equivalent then after the killer found your boon, it would deactivate for the rest of the match. Would you like that?
-
Just nerfing something because people use it is silly. Does it do gens faster? No. Does it heal faster? No. It's just an info perk. Not a big deal.

My point was that survivors have been crying about tunneling since 2016, and since then, Decisive Strike has been nerfed 6x.
I'm crying about Knight, as a survivor, so the obvious takeaway from this feedback is to nerf the survivors' perks or ability to play against the Knight.
I wouldn't say you're "crying". No need to be self deprecating.
The solution to your problem is to hold W. Only try to double back to the banner if you're in a complex structure. That's it. That's the secret sauce.
-
I'm not sure if this is the solution, but it is extremely telling that BHVR want hearing impaired folks to be able to play survivor with little difficulty, but don't particularly care whether or not those people can play killer.

We need to make it so that the killer instinct can only see a healthy survivor but not a wounded one. This will solve the issue with the fact that this is not a Legion nerf, but an excellent solution to unfairness
Well, or make it so that the conditions for blocking it will be like an aura
You know what's really unfair? Nerfing a C-tier killer because they make you unhappy sometimes.
-
It's been trending that way for months. Survivors have adjusted to the killer buff patch and gravitating back toward the role. Soon we'll be back to 10+ minute queues on survivor after 8pm EST.

@Rogue11 said:
Might be a hot take but I consider Wesker the standard for a well balanced, fun but fair killer, like Billy before he was nerfed. Blight on the other hand...
I don't think this is an unpopular opinion. I also think Wesker is the gold standard for killer balance. Fun to go against, very versatile with builds. Just a great killer.

Not as such, I don't see how you can counter nemesis/wesker unless you just want to make yourself more vulnerable. Legion is janky, you definitely can't avoid it because it's when your teammates get hit and you really have no control over that and staying out of TR isn't really feasible unless you know exactly where killer is. Even then it'd still be difficult.
And I'm not saying KI should be blocked. My favourite solution is to let the surv know that KI is on them so they know whether to shift W or not.
You're basically just asking to nerf legion. Who is a bad killer.
When you play against them literally just stay away from other survivors. I only get frenzied when I'm the initial target. Otherwise I know to just leave when I see the mending pop up. Frenzy lasts ten seconds. Count down from ten with each frenzy so you know how much distance you need to make. If you see mending within the terror radius you can just leave and they won't catch you in ten seconds. You don't need a perk to neuter legion and crutch on when you can just use game sense.

I will clarify here, we've not said what we will look into fully, just given a hint at ONE thing...please do not make this a "this is getting nerfed so this should as well" discussion, when you do not yet have all the information. Yes we are currently looking at Eruption, pretty sure our Design Team is looking at other perks also.
Dead hard is not getting nerfed. Not with the eruption nerf, anyway. There's hardly any need to be an enlightened centrist about it. We've all seen how this works.
-
I agree completely.
He also badly needs an add-on pass. Blight gets fun and interesting addons like soul chemical and summoning stone but knight gets like....."guards do mangled when they hit" and the one that gives you undetectable when survivors escape three times. It's just creatively bankrupt when there's so much cool stuff you can do with him. Just ask the community if yall can't come up with anything. People here are endlessly inventive. He doesn't even have a meme addon, for Christs sake.
-
What if when the killer hooks the same survivor twice in a row they can't use their power, m1 or kick gens for a minute? That'd show those bad nasty boys that they have to play fair. Filthy killer mains.
-
I agree. It rips a lot of atmosphere from the game. But it's a bell that cannot be unrung.

I´m dead serious. Why is Erruption unhealthy?
Because not letting people play the video game for thirty seconds feels bad.
I don't care about all the blah blah unfair for solos! tripe. I care about literally not being able to do stuff for half a minute. Even blocking the gen would be better and still strong, cuz at least you can find another gen or heal while it's blocked.

Well I think now that map of the realm isn't mandatory anymore you can use a lot of his other addons. The "summon x guard 2x in a row" addons are probably very good depending on what playstyle you are going for.
I haven't gotten around to the window blocking one yet but something tells me it will be outrageously strong on midwich where you can block the windows that connect two large rooms together and completely trap people inside with a guard while you come in from the main door.
Call to arms is disgusting now. You can drop guards straight on top of people completely outside of your terror radius. It's probably the best addon? That or increased hunt duration.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3327969#Comment_3327969
Yes plenty of M1 and low mobility killers can still lose in a basement or 3v1 situation. Knight basically cannot.
Most killers can't even realistically guard the basement and with basekit BT it's not much better than regular hooks for them. Knight can literally stand at the top of the stairs and drop guards on people 40m away with call to arms. So he is potentially the best basement camper in the game now
The window blocking addon does absolutely nothing because by the time you've navigated through the window the survivor has already left the loop. Nobody sticks around a window long enough for it to matter.
Map of the realm is mandatory if you want your summons to do literally anything. Without it they're just blind and survivors can play around their radius with line of sight blockers.
Your theory crafting about a knight patrolling basement is nonsense. If he's drawing a max path you've got a few seconds to just run down there and save. If he's not then you still run down there and save. Honestly doctor camps better than he does, if you really wanna subject yourself to staring at a survivor for five minutes.
-
Nervous about the visual terror radius thing. My gut feeling on reading that was that it'll be copy pasted from the Knight's guards.
-
I actually agree with this. Boil over cost me two hooks on the swamp map last night. I imagine it works the same on any map with somewhat wonky collision. I play on PC and the 100% boil over never gave me any problems, oddly enough.
-
Eh. I like knight now. Jump scaring survivors off gens is a lot of fun and the faster deploy time makes his guards more of a threat. The 5% gen thing literally doesn't matter. If the knight is using his guys to kick gens then he's not using the vastly superior gen kick perks. I'd be pretty disappointed if they changed him substantially at this point.

The difference is that pipping helps you gain BP, while achievements are only to show off
Are you low on BP? I perma sit on 2 mill because it's such a pain in the ass to spend and you get it so easily. It doesn't matter anymore.

YOu mean doing something like camping 3-gens and kicking them over and over again. Yeah I much rather prefer to get incapacitated 4 times per match instead of searching for a totem.
Nobody ever said eruption was not a problem. It absolutely is and should be changed.

THe game is better off with the old gen perks instead of CoB Eruption which is plagueing the game rn
Absolutely disagree. At least the killer has to do stuff to get value out of those perks. I'm so thankful I don't have to check for ruin, then sigh and go off and find it before I get to actually do anything.
-
Nah. No to old meta stuff coming back. Game's better without it.
