  • Damn, got'em bro. First time I've ever seen this take.

  • Updated my drivers to see if that helps will test it tonight. If that doesn't work next step will be to clear my cache.

  • Twins finally fixed? I can hope.

  • If you tweak the traps or the add-ons on the wrong way pig could guarantee kills every single games.

Also Twins is Low A / High B tier why are they on this poll lol.

  • If anything I feel we're moving away form this idea where camping and tunneling is discouraged and I don't think BHVR did this on purpose or even thought about this when they made the change but the merciless killer change has lead to kinda weird scenarios where I had a knight game yesterday where I tried to play fair and I two hooked everyone but everyone escaped so 8/12 hook states and I then finish by hearing the "entity hungers" horn that comes in and that was so jarring after having a game where I thought I did alright.

Meanwhile and this hasn't happened to me but you can hypothetically snowball get 4 hooks or taken to it's most extreme 0 hook and bleed everyone out and get merciless. This sends the message hooks don't actually matter and you just need kills. I'm not gonna make any value judgements on that I'm just saying we're very VERY far from sending the message you can play what's regarded as "fair" and get rewarded for it. Killers are encouraged to play as ruthless as possible more and more with every change.

Second wind and Camaraderie are not good. It's always once in a blue moon you actually get use out of them

If you're in a SWF kinship is actually bonkers good. Second Wind is nice too, not amazing but it's definitely good if you can coordinate it. Steve is basically the comp survivor.

You sound pretty confident it'll never happen. Sounds like you are more uninformed than anything. Even Mathieu Cote himself said in an interview. Chucky would work just fine in terms of hooking and carrying a Survivor. So...yes Chucky would work. Pinhead never puts his arm in the DBD "carry" pose a SINGLE TIME in the entire Hellraiser franchise and yet he does it in this game.. Not very true to the characters mannerisms, but again its still in the game.. Chucky would be no different. They'll put him in eventually even if to just shut down all that "he's too small' ######### I bet.

If we're invoking Cote he was pretty down on Chucky last anything was said. "Would you really wanna play as Victor the entire match?" Was how he put it.

Didnt Cote imply there would be another licensed chapter before the anniversary in an interview or something?

i still kinda hope for Until Dawn, with the Wendigo and Sam. Or Hannibal (either book or show, I agree that Anthony Hopkins version -while creepy- doesn’t really fit the game well).

I had thought so but really he said just expect more licensed content before anniversary and birkin technically fills that. I did see a theory that it's chapter 27 and pennywise comes every 27 years, it's a cute idea but I don't see it actually happening.

  • I was 100% sure it was going to be licensed but with birkin release I think some clues I was looking at were referring to that so now I'd bet money on an original chapter.

Obligatory plz be a werewolf but I'm not holding my breath for it.

  • I really wanted midwich but I'll take what looks like is going to win too, weird how ormond went from a meh map to now it seems like the most popular map in the game.

  • I mean it's real but at the same time it's idk the right word for it, maybe a placebo effect? Killers that struggled are still struggling but now they have something more concrete to point to and blame.

  • I don't mean this as a brag but my first game of the night I 3k'd as plague with her brown meme add-on and bamboozle, brutal, enduring, hubris so basically a complete meme build. Not saying killer isn't challenging but if y'all really struggling that bad where you're going an entire session with no 3k or 4k it's probably user error.

  • People that walk to the hook when the killer isn't around. They don't even have sprint burst half the time so like why? Are you waiting for an invitation?

  • Favorite: Twins - Or at least they would be if they actually worked. The ability to handle one section of the Map and then instantly handle a completely different section of the map and bounce back and forth makes the game feel dynamic in a way no other killer can.

Least favorite: Nurse - Looking at the ground constantly is obnoxious and even if it wasn't I don't wanna feel carried by my character choice. Same goes for Blight.

  • Twins.

    They literally don't work. :(

But the players are just as big of a problem as the game itself. The game should demand something more than just "screw others, all that matters is ME" but that's exactly what the game does and that's exactly the sort of players it attracts and then molds aswell.

Me saving you or you saving me becomes irrelevant because the game itself rewards us very very little for it, that's why it's meaningless and virtually nobody does it outside of SWF.

Why is DH so popular? It benefits you mostly rather than the team, the only benefit the team get is you spend more time in chase but that's a consequence of your selfish choice not an act of teamplay. And if you miss your DH then they'll just call you trash for not knowing how to use it...But chances are you're still gonna use DH alot because it will help YOU alot.

Maybe asking for teamplay on a Casual game is just too much or maybe it's just too much for DbD...

I mean DH is the most popular perk because a third health state is insanely powerful it doesn't really have anything to do with selfishness I don't think. BT used to be one of the most popular perks and that purely benefitted the person you were unhooking so I think it's more people will just use whatever is strongest.

To your other point I don't think that has anything to do with specifically DBD. Shooters have people on teams where thier success is directly tied to each other where they win and lose as a team. They're also far more toxic and you're likely to get flamed for not performing well. In that way I actually think DBD is less toxic because you can still succeed if your teammate does poorly.

That's all they do ever. But the point is that the game is meant to be this chaotic and "awful for solos" on purpose. That would be fine if playing killer was piss easy and you wouldn't have to deal with the same 4 perks and same cheap tactics every match. I don't mind the game being Casual at all,but the game just isn't well developed, neither side has Fun for 90% of the time they play. We're constantly arguging about the same stuff all over again. Replace Nurse with Knight, Ruin with Eruption and we're all eating the same overcooked rice all over again everytime.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336517#Comment_3336517

People run those perks for a single reason, for matches to be as quick as they can be to maximize survivability, doesn't mean working for the other 3 to escape... their own escape is still the priority, that's the wrong mentality and that's why this game is 1v1v1v1v1. Just cause we're both working on the same gen doesn't mean i'm doing it because i want to help you (i actually do because im actually a team player, i don't mind dying if it means i rescued from death but for the scoring system and for MMR me leaving you to die means as much as me dying so whoever dies is irrelevant only you and me can share the apreciation if one of us saves the other, the game doesn't account for that, when it already has a score parameter for those actions...), i'm doing it because it helps me have a better chance at survival.

It does end up benefitting everyone if i run the killer for a long time but im still doing it for myself cause i want to survive, if you don't have windows and you die then that's on you, i have a very easy choice to make either do the rescue or let you die.

If the Maps were fixed with no RNG involved we'd all have the same layout of the Map to remember and we could all know where the loops are, that would eliminate the need for Windows of Oportunity to exist.

This kinda seems like avoiding saying everyone acknowledges working together is the best way to escape without literally saying it. Like of course everyone is trying to escape that is literally the objective of the game. Do you want perks that encourage players to kill themselves to help everyone else? Because I don't think that would be a fun experience and I don't think anyone would run them.

For the People seems like a good example of a selfless perk. It heals a teammate instantly and leaves you broken. It actually can be game changing and a good perk but hardly anyone runs it because it gets you killed a lot and just because you helped your teammate that doesn't mean they're not instantly gonna go down again. Like altruism is not always the best play if done poorly.

As for the rest I mean sure but I don't know that mindset really matters? If I save you and you escape because it helps me or I do it because it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside the result is the same. And at that point we're talking about altering the psychology of the players themselves rather than the actual game.

  • I think the colors refer to complexity rather than usefulness. It's probably why yellows and browns come across as better most of the time because they're simple and the more complex ones can be better but you have to tailor your build to create those situations.

  • You're acting like everyone is running low profile and left behind and not kindred and prove thyself. Of course the game is a 4v1 even most solos with a few dozen hours know that.

You use the example of windows like windows is a selfish perk when just because only you can see the auras doesn't mean that's the case. 1. If only one person had to bring it for everyone to have it that would be insanely broken and 2. It's a useful team perk because one person being able to run the killer for a long time benefits everyone.

  • 55-60% in favor of killers, escaping should be a challenge but still reasonable to attain.

  • You need a minimum amount of posts like 5 or something I think but you probably already hit it. You should be able to just click on edit profile and then change profile picture should appear on the side. If it's not letting you do that contact a mod and they'll fix it since it does get stuck and not switch on permissions sometimes for new accounts.

  • Nah he was actually way overrated at first and people realized they're just okay and not some A tier monster. I will say they're an incredible amount of fun though and the closest thing I have had to a main. It's just unfortunate when you spend too much time busting out of locked lockers but otherwise you feel like you can do something in any situation which is great.

  • Bamboozle + Brutal Strength- I like that feeling of being a juggernaut and not really caring what survivors throw in my way.

Potential Energy + Repressed Alliance- Running these together makes me feel like I'm in a lovecraft story and can access eldritch powers.

    1. Alien
    2. Prey
    3. Thing
    4. Lollipop Chainsaw as a Survivor only midchapter type thing.
  • They should have been thanking you for running that build compared to what you could be running.

  • DBD is the only game I've ever played where cheating and just using things available in the game can be so hard to tell apart. I've had hatch literally spawn under me, I've had games with lucky guesses with survivors in lockers, I've had gens done in 30 seconds and I've had survivors DH me pretty much on reaction. If someone wanted to they could subtle cheat and probably get away with it for a very long time or alternatively someone could never cheat but get accused of cheating multiple times and there would be reasons for it.

  • You're welcome to run agitation + iron grasp if you so choose. Add starstruck if you're feeling extra spicy.

  • I mean it's a silly nerf but if you actually miss skill checks that's a bigger issue IMO.

Also potential energy continues to be the most misunderstood perk in the game. This is not a gen go fast perk, it's not self-care for gens either like you absolutely do not use it for every single gen that's stupid lmao.

I would if anything compare it as adrenaline for gens. I don't think it's as good as adrenaline but it's very much an end game perk. Potential Energy is fantastic for getting that final gen done especially when you bring a BNP to go with it. Taking potentially up to 30-40 seconds of that final gen depending on your toolbox means the killer practically can't really commit to a chase. I actually like PE because it's actually a skill test, use it wrong and it slows you down but use it right and it can win you the game.

  • I actually think it's decent it's just only useful on specific killers. You have to either be a stealth killer so they can scream regardless of how close you are or a slowdown killer like cenobite/pig so the scream can actually interrupt something important. I don't think I'd ever put it on a regular killer as they can't take advantage of it and it's kinda weak in that case.

  • Or maybe we leave it and let deep would be something other than 5 seconds added onto a heal.

  • I feel like if BHVR could take the twins back they would, literally nothing worked on chapter release not the perks and Victor had weird visual errors for weeks. Then came Twins shockingly somehow being S tier but in the most unfun ways for survivors possible leading to a multitude of nerfs that make an already unpopular killer feel clunky and terrible to play. Enter boons two of which make Twins an absolute joke to play against making them even more unappealing. Since then Twins have gotten multiple bugs that make them literally unplayable and while other killers would have had fixes fairly quickly BHVR seems fine taking thier time fixing them while getting rid of a bug in the ptb that actually made Twins feel good for once.

Twins really are DBD's greatest tragedy especially considering they had so much potential to be up there with the likes of Nurse and Blight.

  • *watches my teammates still have 20 second chases and act allergic to gens*

Yeah idk about that one. Solos are still bad I just get more information about the ways in which they are bad.

  • A nerf NOED thread in 2023? Really? It's not even that good anymore lmao.

  • I mean it's always a buzz kill when the time for new cosmetics rolls around and your excited your main might get something cool finally and nope it's just Feng again.

  • DBD - 2.6k hours

    Monster Hunter World -1.6k Hours

    Overwatch 2 - 1.3k hours

  • I feel like is arguing against rebalancing more people having a problem with eruption. Which like every live service Multiplayer game buff and nerf things all the time so this thread makes no sense lol.

  • Ruin with Original Undying will always be the best meta we've had survivors actually had a second objective and killers had two slots to run literally whatever they wanted.

  • So far nobody I have killers I like but nobody I would p100, that's being reserved for any of 4 potential future killers....

    1. A werewolf
    2. Xenomorph
    3. FNAF
    4. Literally just Cthulhu

The moment we get any of those I'll begin my p100 journey but until then nobody it getting it.

  • I play James occasionally, I'd get Birkin cuz that's probably the best skin they've ever made but I don't play Blight

  • I would assume it's because of a combination of the event + solos wanting to test the new icons.

  • This reads like parody lol.

I haven't noticed much a difference tbh, solos do better sure but bad players still make bad plays. Nothing has changed you still tunnel out the weak link you just have less room for mistakes now.

  • Yeah with BhVR's seemingly great relationship with Konami I think a second silent hill chapter is only a matter of time. I'd be happy with anything they decided on from the other games they haven't used.

  • This is why I think Lethal Pursuer is an extremely good perk if the killer has no other aura perks. Being able to break up survivors working on the gen they spawned on and then getting a quick down as quickly as possible just raises your odds for success exponentially.

  • I always swing rather than eat the pallet in that situation because either they're in a dead zone and I catch back up and down them or I can go pressure someone else while they mend.

It doesn't make sense to eat the pallet when you'd still have to go through DH anyway if you did.

  • Why do so many people act like basekit unbreakable coming to the game is a sure thing when BHVR acknowledged that PTB was a disaster and that basekit unbreakable and finisher moris are a very long way off and that's only if they somehow don't get scrapped?

I will say the quality of teams I get vary wildly, one game I'll get a team that will complain the game was unplayable for them and killer is too OP then the next I'll get a team that will make me look like a joke and I'll be thankful for a 1k or 2k. MMR kinda goofy.

  • We'll know in a few hours I guess but I have reason to believe it is today.

  • How to counter DH: Wait, Look up to bait it. look for them to run into you on purpose

How to counter eruption: Uuuuuhhhh be in a SWF?

Not really seeing how they're equivalent. I could go along for the argument if it were say CoH cuz I think that would make more sense as CoH doesn't really have a counter except forcing you to bring a perk that does nothing if there are no boons.

  • Yeah Demo just isn't that good the portals are slow and clunky the stealth might as well not be there and shred is okay I guess? You can break pallets easily enough but you're still forced to loop which is basically a death sentence unless you're an expert at the killer you're playing. But tl;dr there is nothing demo does that another killer doesn't do better.

    Wesker has a better lunge.

    Dredge has a better teleport

Every stealth killer has better stealth

Demo is basically a bunch of good abilities done poorly and it doesn't add up to much. They were good once but Demo is suffering the Myers treatment and is basically just outdated.

  • It's not that bad, I've been doing the look up trick lately and it actually works an embarrassingly high amount of the time.
