Jurassic Park
I don't care if it fits or not let me be a velociraptor.

Still isn't worse than the sadako rework, not by a mile.
At least you can still play the game against SM even if it is difficult she still has difficulty with slowdown and map pressure, onryo is just everyone plays a tape minigame and if even one person ######### up the game just instantly ends with out sadako having had to do much of anything besides spam her teleport.
-
Combination of the Xeno prefix and Eldritch it more or less translates to Strange Outsider.
-
Except it's not just missing hits it's destroying turrets as well.
Between the nerf and prerunning which was already strong against them it takes Xeno ages to catch up to a survivor when coming out of a tunnel. It's delusional to call Xeno still A tier at this point.

I have had literal death threats. I've had people wish death on not only me, but my children..in detail, the way that they hope they will meet their demise as adults. I've had every single thing about me thoroughly insulted from my looks to my voice to my this to my that. I've been told my partner will leave me because dot dot dot...all people who have found me on some social media platform, because they were mad that they died in a match. I'm a bad killer. I'm a bad survivor etc..those ones I don't really care so much about..but the personal ones..especially people who went out of their way to find me on Instagram or Discord..those ones are more concerning. I stream, so I understand it takes minimal effort to shoot a message through on Twitch..but the rest......................................
You will never make me believe any community is more toxic than this one.
I can't even post here, without people scrolling by if they have nothing of depth to offer (whether it agrees or disagrees with my post).
I mean I've gotten countless "#########" messages and tons of insults, also had my bloodline cursed I guess? A bunch of threats to hack my computer and dox me as well. But like it's all empty threats and like idk maybe it's cuz I play killer and it's all coming from survivors but I don't really think of it as toxic and more just salt?
The reason I say other games are far more toxic is because you get the same kind of comments in team games coming from your own team and that I feel like is much worse to me because it's coming from people your supposed to be working with so it stings more if that makes sense? That bothers me much more than average unhinged gamer mad that I beat them and what they say doesn't really bother me (most of the time I find it funny) cuz like maybe I'm just desensitized to it cuz that's just the average online experience these days.

People saying nobody asked for some sort of change to the tail attack during the ptb weren't paying attention.
A lot of people said the tail felt bad and very sluggish on a miss. People were more asking for a slight buff on the cool down but instead we got the movement speed buff. Regardless it's a complete fabrication to say nobody said anything about it.

I have to disagree. And I am not on Twitter. I've been contacted on Xbox, discord, Twitch and Instagram. On more than one occasion and pretty much every terrible thing you could possible imagine. People are toxic in game. People are toxic out of game. People are definitely toxic in these forums as well. It's more weird to me that someone would have on blinders to how toxic this community actually is.
I'm not saying there's no toxicity because every game has toxicity but compared to other games I just think it's incredibly tame.
Like 75% of the time I feel like it's just whining/complaining rather than actual toxicity.
-
I don't understand the thought that only one horror asymm can exist, besides that TCM is having player retention issues so...yeah no
Also the idea that DBD has the most toxic community is always funny to me like yeah it can be unhinged but that's mostly on Twitter and I'm not sure why'd you be on Twitter in the first place.
Play literally any shooter or LoL and you'll get more toxicity in a few hours than you will in a month of playing DBD.
-
I kinda think this is a weird one. Yes it's on the larger side but it's so open you never struggle finding survivors on it.
I'm generally okay with Borgo but I guess a rework is fine, would have much rathered Forest or Garden however.
-
I'm fine if they thought 2.0 was too much but I'm less fine we didn't test 1.5/1.6 first. I don't know why BHVR is so against incrementalism when it comes to balancing. Everything is either gigabuffed or gets a hammer taken to it.
You pretty much only take the safe shots now and being forced to DS yourself to deal with turrets feels awful. I don't think Xeno is gutted by any means but they're absolutely back to being B tier and they definitely don't feel good to play anymore.
I'm kinda at the point where I'm very doubtful we ever see another A tier killer released which is a bit depressing but it is what it is I guess. Time for the community to go back to Wesker by Daylight.
-
God I hope this rework isn't just "drones can be disabled without giving the survivors claw traps" because then she's legitimately just worse than Trapper.
This screenshot does not inspire confidence at all they thought this through.
-
Bamboozle is actually great on Xeno especially shack because they can't fast vault the window meaning you don't have to take that shot at a weird angle and it's pretty much a free health state, it's the same reason bamboozle is pretty good on plague.
-
Wesker players thanking Mother Miranda that Xeno came along and took all the heat off them.
-
Man just appeared and really said "I got your updated profile pics right here ez" so like thank you but also glgl cuz this place is a madhouse lol.
-
It's possible for a game to still be good if it was competitive.
I only don't say gg for stomps or if the survivors were BMing a lot but otherwise I don't see why not.

none of the killers had practice. no wonder that many m2 went wrong.
Doesn't change the fact it felt terrible to miss like I know for a fact a lot of people weren't interested in Xeno because they felt so bad to play if you weren't landing every shot.

I just a map with intense weather a la Hard Rain from Left 4 Dead.
Could be a Thunderstorm or a Blizzard or whatever I'm not picky but it would be a break from the monotony of other maps.

Yeah, things feel bad if you screw up, but the killer was new and clearly had potential.
So buffing him so much in such a short window of time is just becoming comical.
I wouldn't even be mad about that aproach if we got frequent updates to tune things up and down, but no it's buff or nothing for how many months or years before they consider ir necessary.
There can be a penalty for missing without feeling like you're DSing yourself every time to want to try an interesting shot. There's such a thing as something being too punishing which it very much was on the PTB and everyone agreed on that.
-
Almost everyone said the tail felt horrible when you missed with it. But I think most of us were expecting a .5 to .75 second buff on the cool down the increased movement speed instead was...a choice.
Some people were worried about the turrets but realized they were fine with add-ons. I'm guessing they nerfed the turrets and the add-ons accordingly to prevent a situation where everyone was only running the same two add-ons.
I have no idea why tunnel movement was buffed however everyone seemed fine with that.
-
Nurse
Blight
Spirit
Artist
Plague
Wesker
Oni
Xeno
So 8th best so that makes them mid A tier.
-
There are two types of survivors
1. The kind that complain on here
2. The kind that have been learning the match up and I've been seeing better and better turret placement as the week has gone on
You decide which one you want to be.

I played 24 survivor games yesterday and escaped 13 of them.
Seems very possible to me.

I don't care about being a part of some guy's weird power fantasy. I want a balanced PVP game with fair counterplay on both sides. If Xeno is going to be as oppressive as he is in chase then buff the turrets. Right now they are useless and only slow survivors down. The turrets do literally nothing if you bring the right addons and have a basic level of awareness. I have played over a dozen games as Xeno and probably 30 against him so I know from experience.
Did I say anything about a power fantasy? I was saying all that from the PoV of playing survivor it's good to actually be scared of the killer again as opposed to thinking they're just a nuisance and bringing horror back to this horror game but thanks for missing my point completely very cool.

well.. I think there is not much counterplay. The turrets are not really helpful, and you won't have a turret around all the time anyway. Meanwhile Xeno can traverse the whole map and if it has Lethal Pursuer it will know where the survivors spawned so it can engage very early. And the tail attack is bugged (hitboxes) and it has neither a sound clue for the survivor nor does Xeno get punished when it misses. And Xeno can hit over vault spots and pallets.
If you got no problems then nice for you. I almost always loose to Xeno even if Xeno is bad player.
The turrets are incredibly helpful so much so that I'm scared to work on a gen without having one near me. There's like a misunderstanding on how the turrets work I feel like, the second you hear rapid beeping just run there's no maybe on whether or not the Xeno is coming out of the tunnel near your gen if you hear it, it's coming and you need to leave ASAP.
If you run early enough there's a chance you can deny Xeno killer instinct on you and even if you don't you will have made so much distance it becomes a losing proposition for it to chase you, I absolutely think Sprint Burst is the strongest perk you can run against a Xeno. If you actually heed the warning of the turret and make distance then you make Xeno's life very hard. The other thing is I don't see people repair the turrets very often. If a Xeno isn't destroying them then you need to punish that mistake and take the the time to repair them also once a gen is done bring the turret it with you near the next closest gen they are very valuable and if you complete a gen and then just have turret in an area where nobody has any reason to be you're basically handicapping yourself by giving yourself under 4 turrets to work with.
-
I'm kinda TBD on Ultimate Weapon atm, it's VERY strong but hard to tell if it's overtuned or not atm.

I have a point. My point is Xeno is overpowered. Just because there may be Killers which are even stronger and need nerfs doesn't mean Xeno is fine.
When I see survivors do everything they can to not touch a gen or engage in any sort of counterplay I can't take these claims seriously.
I have no trouble against Xeno at all.
-
It's a weird map the Nostromo itself has a few good pallets but isn't that strong otherwise and outside has many deadzones but there's lots of debris for killer powers to get stuck on, I think it's a pretty balanced map overall and one of the best they've made.

As I said, Xeno is way stronger than Demo.
And Blight is stronger than Xeno what is your point?
-
Xeno is very fun to go against but bad teammates make it miserable it's like wraith or dredge where you do not want to be injured against this killer but nobody seems to realize that yet and getting a heal in soloQ is ######### impossible because we need to slow walk around the map instead for some reason.
The only thing I'm not a fan of is I think the slow emergence out of a tunnel needs a lingering effect after an unhook it seems like it's gone the instant the unhook happens which makes it somewhat ineffective as an anticamping mechanic. But besides that Xeno is probably my favorite killer to go against tied with Dredge, Singularity and Demo.
-
Me: Doing gens and setting up turrets while running in advance when they beep and looping the killer when they appear despite them being "unloopable"
My teammates: In the basement opening chests and when the killer finds them they run to dead zones so they can kill themselves on hook
It is not Xeno's fault most survivors are potatoes.

You know what would be a scary killer for real?
A killer that makes all survivors start the match on the hooks.
I would honestly be terrified.
You know what would make for a really fun to play against killer?
One that doesn't pose any threat to the survivor whatsoever.
At least according to the survivor players I see on the forum.
-
Out of curiosity did this make Laurie pay to win for survivor for all those years DS was one of if not the best perk in the game?

Both killers can use tunnels to traverse the map, so it makes sense to compare them.
MFW people compare a map under a map where the killer has free movement to traverse to having to portals you have to go around and place and cyou choose to go into a portal you've committed to going to that location.
They both use tunnels the same way Huntress and Trickster are both "ranged" killers.
-
I have had this thought since Xeno released reading the complaints that people really aren't used to fearing the killer anymore.
It very much feels like new killers come out and the first thought is "how do I loop them for 5 gens and put them in the montage" which is a bit depressing.
Xeno breaks this trend by returning this game to it's horror roots. This isn't a killer you can loop for 5 gens this is a killer you defeat by creating a detection and decoy system. Hear the beeping run like hell and pray the turret bought you enough time to get away.
For the first time maybe ever it's a killer where playing slow and immersive IS the correct choice. Playing against Xeno created a type of tension I haven't felt since maybe 2017 when Cannibal first released and it was another killer that could one shot you. It felt like I was playing a horror game again where when the killer was coming my way it wasn't "meh w/e I'll just loop them for a couple gens" it was "oh ######### time to get out of here and hope they don't find me" which I never realized how much I missed that from DBD.
This chapter is the best thing that could have happened to this game and I hope we get more chapters like it.
-
You can put it down but also you shouldn't be doing the challenge until near the end of the game otherwise you're just screwing you and your team over not to mention you should really only try to complete it when you know you'll escape so you can get the extra 25k for it.
-
I do think turret placement could do with being a bit less temperamental as a QoL change but it's hard to want to suggest things like this when we have hysterical over the top threads like this.

No turret hindered, but you drop the turret (with no animation) when you run, so there are no more turret free hits. The Killer can already (add-onless) reaction M2 turrets, so it is only effective against Killer players who haven't played any video game before, or when you run along the outskirts with it hidden in a bush. I would also remove the Killer Instinct on tunnel exit, as the footsteps are enough intel. The other issue is the lack of a miss cooldown/slowdown (worth mentioning). Here, the Zarina was missed, but by the time the miss CD was done, the Killer was able to M1. If the Xeno's power is going to be a permanent pre-wound (edit: wound as in wound up arm, not wound as in injured) Huntress, it should be punishing to miss, be 4.4 while the attack is available, or Turrets need to be able to break it out of power before a (add-onless) reaction M2.
Singularity's counterplay is fair, and the Killer is very strong. The problem is it is like Nurse/Huntress where you practically need a mouse, the Killer just isn't built with a controller in mind, as the TP biopod 'autoaim' is nonexistent, and you need quick snappy aim onto Survivors. Singularity's other problem is he is one of a few Killers who suffer from latency rather than only having an advantage from it. Most Killers are used to the basic Lagvantage coded in the game. If you get a hit at a window, and the person then teleports 5 feet or around a corner, that was a lag hit that was a clear miss on their screen. This makes the 'attacker' the one who has Lagvantage. Ghosty's reveal logic makes the Survivor the attacker, and thus the one with Lagvantage (in terms of revealing), similar to EMPs with Singularity. If you EMP while the TP biopod is en-route, the attacker EMP hits before the attacker TP biopod. Singularity requires skill and effort, and Xeno requires neither.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3532013#Comment_3532013
Could you explain how you loop an in-power Xeno that isn't a baby Killer? First when they run past the flame turret and reaction M2 it, that buys you an extra 3-5s in chase. Then in my experience, pallets are death sentences unless it is a pre-dropped god pallet. If you pre-drop a normal pallet, they walk around. If you greed the pallet, they walk through and get the M1 before you loop back around. If you try to stun at the pallet, they respect it and get an M2 hit. So all pallet scenarios are on the Killer to fail, not the Survivor and Killer to have a fair back and forth, hence why I said against a non-baby Killer. Windows are of varying strengths, but an LT wall is also a death sentence against Xeno. Normal loops with a pallet are balanced around running window to pallet to window again (and so on), so once you reach the pallet portion you lose all the while the Xeno is gaining Bloodlust. The only Xenos that don't have free Bloodlust are the ones going for risky shots rather than taking the free win move.
As for Nemmy and Demo, they are much easier for me to go against, because depending on the Killer, you can reaction dodge on hearing the sound cue without looking backwards. Once they realize you reaction dodge, you can commit to the vault/greed the pallet instead. After that you need to mix it up between a reaction dodge or commit/vault. They also don't get 18 m/s map mobility for free with KI revealing even hiding Survivors, giving them instant value on a pop, and free hits against anyone carrying a turret. Demo gets 20m/s map mobility, but only after he spends ~3s placing a portal where he wants it, with a longer portal exit timer and greater sound cues to respond and leave.
As far as 'lack of skill' That is a hilarious claim to make, but I'll bite. Checking deadbystats we get this.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PFIKPP576VY5/gensprotected.png
I have ~70% gens protected ratio as Killer, which means I win 70% of my games before the Survivors are able to finish all the gens. Even if we were to take the extreme stats of the remaining 30% are 4 man escapes, (and not also potentially 1ks, 2ks, 3ks, and 4ks after the gens pop) that still leaves me at a 70% win rate, which is well above an even, normal, 50% win loss ratio.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6Q0CPDJBWUOB/freddyvmft.jpg
I beat 3 MfTs, 3 Windows, 2 Resils, 2 Hopes, a Dead Hard (I kept swinging into because I mixed up who had it) and a BNP as Freddy without hard tunneling (since the lowest BP a surv had was more than 10k BP) with effectively 1 perk (because they cleansed both totems by my 2nd hook, and OC was bugged to not give skillchecks if you tapped gens immediately prior to the Xeno patch). But by all means, prove I lack skill when I have receipts. (Also yes, I have Freddy P9, but only because I am going down the character lists for charms, I'm on Pyramid Head as Killer and Nea as Survivor at the moment.) Now to be fair, I am weaker at Survivor than I am at Killer, but I can recognize when there is a problem regardless. Xeno's current strength is a problem, and this is the time for larger changes (like running drops Turrets) before we get locked into another Nurse or Skull Merchant.
lol
How I know you don't play Xeno. Getting a hit while someone holding a turret requires prediction on survivor spawns and mostly happens at the beginning of the game, if you predict that correctly you should get rewarded for it. It very rarely happens outside of that so I don't see how it's an issue and trust me you don't actually want that because the number of players that would accidently sprint holding a turret and put it on it's 60 second respawn timer would be crazy.
The killer instinct is because coming up from the tunnels is because coming up is disorienting and they sometimes face away from the gen and if survivors only run when they hear you come from a tunnel you're not even getting the footsteps nor are you getting footsteps if survivors are only working on gens or holding a turrets.
Next we're for some reason surprised pikachu that a Zarina that just stops moving completely made no distance after a missed tail attack which not sure why but okay.
Huntress is 110% because the hatchets can go across the map and she can hit you from 14+ meters away during chase I don't know why we're equating that to the shortest ranged m2 attack in the entire game like that's actually a baffling false equivalency. Which when we're not doing that we're just suggesting to take away Xeno's skill expression and counterplay to their counterplay because why have skill expression when we can just give survivors free value for doing the bare minimum lol.
Singularity has the lowest kill rate of any killer as per nightlight.gg and ask literally anyone Singularity is incredibly frustrating to play at the present moment, if you think they're in a good spot I don't know what to tell you but giving everything else you've said I'm not surprised you think this. But considering we're now just saying Xeno requires no skill when her entire power centers around a skill shot I just think this bait posting and I can't take any of this seriously.

Excellent job deflecting, but this isn't Dark Souls. The point was turrets burning don't do enough, and it showed burning didn't do enough. Your refute is a whimpering 'nuhuh'. I'm sorry, but take the L gracefully, or make a legitimate counterpoint.
Edit: I'd prefer the legitimate counterpoint to be clear.
What do you actually want the turrets to do? Realistically? Because best case they take away the killer's power and they were doing that ( much more than they really should have tbh it peeves me when people complain about killers they're obviously not good with but that's a different discussion) so they did their job?
I feel like survivors really just want singularity 2.0 where the counterplayer makes the killer benign and frustrating to play just because god forbid we get strong killers added to the game that provide a challenge.

Ok, 4:55 turret burns Xeno out, gets the hit at 5:00, or 5s later, with the 2nd hit and down at 5:18. Burned out at 6:50, gets the hit at 7:05, and a free hit at 7:22 because he was getting value from the undetectable out of burned add-on, then the down at 7:43 against that person while getting the power back mid chase. It would help paying attention to the video instead of just replying 'lul'. The add-on is based around getting burned out, and he made it a lose-lose for Survivor more than it already is.
Edit: Every other time (like 8:30) it appears he was already out of power so getting burned didn't matter, especially since he got the hit at 8:33 and the down at 8:46.
getting m1'd is OP you're right.

I played a few games against Xeno to really see if it was as bad as people were saying people and it's just as I thought and if you used the turrets as an early warning system and run way in advance Xeno isn't too bad to go against at all. You get so much of a headstart it takes them forever to catch up and then you just loop them best you can if they don't give up chase. I've escaped every time so far against Xeno, survivors crying over nothing yet again.
I won't deny I was surprised how fast Xeno catches up after destroying a turret if you don't run soon enough but once I adjusted for that it was no issue at all.

Turrets doesnt activate when alien is on the tunnel close to you.
They beep more the closer Xeno is and then shut off for a few seconds when they emerge from the tunnels. It's like an artificial terror radius.
